Argent Confesser Paletress is a Human female located at the Argent Pavilion in the Argent Tournament Grounds in Northeastern Icecrown. It seems she runs a type of Church service where she gives a speech about the three virtues of the Light and then comforts the NPC's that have come to watch her.
She gives a speech every 10 minutes, here it is below:
Thank you all for attending this sermon. It's wonderful to see so many familiar faces!
Today I would like to touch on the three virtues of the Light.
These are dark and difficult times for us all. The armies of the Scourge amass to the south. Companions fall on the battlefield and rise to serve our enemy moments later.
Many of you have experienced a betrayal of trust.
Yet you persevere, as we all must. In these times, no one is a stranger to the virtue of tenacity. In the face of despair and hatred, we continue to stand true to our beliefs and fight on.
There can be no doubt as to your tenacity... but there are other virtues to consider.
Respect is the first virute taught to those joining the path of the Light.
Look across the aisle to those you would call enemy. Despite the hatred that separates you, there are qualities to respect in your opponent. Their prowess should be acknowledged.
All of us gathered here have a concept of honorable combat. Conducting yourself with honor and treating your opponent as you wish to be treated shows respect.
Respect your opponent on the field, whether he be your brother or your sworn enemy. No matter where your beliefs truly lie, such respect is acknowledging a connection...
...and in acknowledging those connections, you are closer to the Light.
There is one further step on the path of Light: compassion.
Rivalries abound in this day and age. It is easy to see differences wherever you turn.
The challenge is in looking beyond appearances and understanding our similarities. Through this understanding, you can feel compassion for the losses others have suffered...
...even if the victim bears another banner.
By feeling and understanding compassion in enemy and ally alike, you reaffirm your connection with the world.
Acting on these tenets, these virtues, help make the world a place we all can appreciate. A world of honor and justice.
Think on my words, friends. In the darkness that surrounds us all, the Light is needed more than ever.
I'll be behind the confessional screen if anyone wishes to speak with me. Any doubts, any worries, any uncertainties I will happily soothe.

Here are the confessions listed below (no particular order, just in the order I saw them)
Ironforge Champion:
Ironforge Champion says: Lass, I've a confession to make to ya.
Ironforge Champion says: I've been feelin'... urges.
Ironforge Champion says: It was a powerful feelin' while I was listenin' to yer sermon, and it's drivin' me nuts!
Ironforge Champion says: ...I NEED A DRINK!
Argent Confessor Paletress says: Drink in moderation, then, my dwarven friend, but you may want to turn in your lance and reins for the time being. Go with the Light.
Gnomergan Champion:
Gnomergan Champion says: I don't know if I can compete! Everyone is so much bigger!
Gnomergan Champion says: I've calculated the probability of my success, and it's distressingly low!
Gnomergan Champion says: I can't accurately assess the mathematics behind the charge of my turbostrider while keeping hold of my lance at the precise angle needed and keeping my shield in the exact location for maximum protection at any given second!
Gnomergan Champion says: ...and some of those mounts can trample me!
Argent Confessor Paletress says: Take heart. Size isn't what matters, but how you use the skills you have.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: What you lack in size you make up for in ambition and dedication, little one. Go with the Light.
Stormwind champion:
Stormwind champion says: My heart hangs heavier with each passing day, Confessor.
Stormwind champion says: I have been ordered here, and here I stay and fight under the banner of Stormwind. But everything I do here is empty.
Stormwind champion says: Beyond these reaches, the Scourge continue their work, destroying more and more of what we've built. The fight should be there. I should be there.
Stormwind champion says: How can I justify jousting while people die without my protection?
Argent COnfessor Paletress says: Your heart is in the right place, and I know you seek to serve the Light. But these small strikes do little to the great undead host.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: This tournament is helping to form a strong, concerted force, though it may not appear obvious. When we're ready, the eyes of the Crusade and all its champions will turn towards Icecrown.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: We will bring the might of all races to the Lich King, and he will be defeated.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: I know this does not seem like the obvious path to you, but it will bring you closer to the Light.
Fight well, brother.
Silvermoon Champion:
Silvermoon Champion says: This fighting is endless. I'm not certain how much more of it I can stand.
Silvermoon Champion says: All of this posturing, all of this dancing about in rings...it seems pointless. What's the use?
Silvermoon Champion says: And I'm beginning to get HELMET HAIR. This is a travesty!
Argent Confessor Paletress says: It may seem pointless, but try to find pride in a good fight. The time will come when all this practicing and competition will be put to good use.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: And your hair looks wonderful.
Orgrimmar Champion:
Orgrimmar Champion says: This isn't honorable combat. I long to face my opponents in battle with my axe in hand!
Orgrimmar Champion says: These are my enemies. YOU would be my enemy in battle! Your king has declared war on my kind!
Orgrimmar Champion says: But instead of fighting as my people would, as my people should, I find myself with a long, unwieldy pole, attempting to coax my wolf into charging my opponent without attacking.
Orgrimmar Champion says: This is not how orcs fight! My duty to the Warchief wars with my perosonal honor. I hold no faith in your Light, but as you seem an advisor, I would hear your words.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: I understand your frustration. Your people are ferocious in battle, and this isn't what you're used to.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: But this is a different sort of honorable combat. Difficult to adapt to, perhaps, but with your prowess I'm sure you'll show everyone the strength in your people. (At around this point, Paletress did the /flex emote making the
Orgrimmar Champion laugh :D)
Argent Confessor Paletress says: Besides... while an axe can be a valuable tool in war, lances have their uses as well.
Undercity Champion:
Undercity Champion says: I punched a penguin on my way in here.
Argent Confessor Paletress says: Oh, my. Do you feel remorseful, at least?
Undercity Champion says: Nah, not really. I just wanted to see the look on your face.
(At this point Paletress turns around and leaves the confessional area. After the Undercity Champion stops laughing, he waves at her and goes back to his seat. By far my favorite confession <3)
***I'll edit this when I get to see the Exodar and Sen'jin ones. I just don't want to wait for it anymore :P

What if Whitemane didn't really die at the monastery, but instead survived and realized the error of her ways? Maybe she changed her name and joined the Argent Crusade in order to redeem herself.
it's only a matter of time before someone draws them together.
Possibly naked and/or making out.
Rule 34! The internet gods demand it!

This is one of the more obvious signs of the Argent Dawn beginning to devolve into the next Scarlet Crusade. They:
Changed their name (forgivable, at first), to represent their increasingly militant offensive against the Lich King
Are beginning to trade an increasing amount of pragmatism for bone-headed ritual.
Recruited Death Knights. Just because Darion agreed (at Ashbringer-point, no less) to serve the Argent Crusade doesn't mean he or his Death Knights are good people. I've been death-gripped out of the air enough to vouch for that.
Tirion's heart is in the right place. He's a good paladin, but he has the Ashbringer, which is a lot of power for one mortal to be swinging around. And you know what happens when a good guy comes into such power...
Anybody else notice that they're becoming increasingly organized in their worship of the light? The Dawn was practical in their worship- (genuine morality, and doing the right thing), now their organized worship is beginning to eclipse their teachings, and when you get enough people moving in one direction, it gets harder to see exactly where you're going.
A reduced emphasis on redemption, instead focusing on retribution. We've seen that The Light unto itself isn't a good force. (Scarlet Crusaders casting Holy Light anybody?) It can be used to do good things, but isn't actually "good", and carries enough face-melting power to really hurt people. And as long as the paladin doesn't care whether the face being melted is innocent or not, the Light will bounce merrily along), and when a paladin is hopped-up on "Smite 'Em All" dogma, corruption is bound to happen.
And Paletress here might as well be Nathrezim in disguise.

Looks like our confessor may be entering the fray in the 5-man version of the Argent Tournament instance in patch 3.2. One of the achivevements revealed for the instance reads:
Argent Confessor
Experience 5 different memories.
The memories might be like the Yogg-Saron visions, but it's still to early to say. Not sure if this supports the thought that she's Whitemane in disguise, but it also sounds like other bosses will include other friendly Argent Tournament NPCs, such as
Eadric the Pure
.

You're close, but not quite there!
One must understand that the Argent Tournament is there to train the champions and offer them challenges.
The Alliance gets to fight the Horde.
the Horde gets to fight the Alliance.
Then both get to fight
Whitemane and Mograine
Paletress and Eadric the Pure
.
"Arise, my champion!"
"At your side, Milady!"
And finally the real bad guy: The Black Knight, who I might add looks a lot like Darion.
All in all, Paletress is probably not a villain but simply a challenge to the participaters.

Taken from worldofraids.com:
One of the encounters you'll have to defeat is Argent Confessor Paletress. Well, maybe. She has an achievement related to her specifically, and it calls for "experiencing" 5 different memories from your past. This is based off of the Summon Memory spells and followed up with Memory Spawn Effect. Since Crusaders' Coliseum isn't yet active on the PTR, it can't be confirmed exactly how the memories play into the encounter. But, it could potentially mean you'll fight a boss from the past. Or it could just be some form of cutscene during the encounter after she uses an ability on you.
At any rate, here's a list of the memories from the data files. Keep in mind this isn't actually available for testing yet, so this list could change before the instance is opened and before 3.2 is released. There are 25 memories in total, with 26 Summon Memory spells, so one of them is probably used to trigger the random memory spell. These memories are, of course, all for the 5-player version of Crusaders' Coliseum. I've broken them up into what they were in the past (raid boss or dungeon boss) for ease of browsing the list.
Wrath of the Lich King
* Raid Bosses
o Algalon the Observer
o General Vezax
o Heigan the Unclean
o Ignis the Furnace Master
* Dungeon Bosses
o Cyanigosa
o Eck the Ferocious
o Ingvar the Plunderer
The Burning Crusade
* Raid Bosses
o Archimonde
o Entropius (M'uru)
o Gruul the Dragonkiller
o Illidan Stormrage
o Lady Vashj
o Prince Malchezaar
* Dungeon Bosses
o Priestess Delrissa
o Warlord Kalithresh
Classic WoW
* Raid Bosses
o Chromaggus
o Emperor Vek'nilash
o Hakkar
o Lucifron
o Onyxia
o Thunderaan
* Dungeon Bosses / Quest Targets
o Edwin VanCleef
o Herod
o Hogger
o Mutanus the Devourer
Seems that it will be an very epic fight in the 5-man coliseum, can't wait for it.

Her clothing is the "Elegant" set, I don't have any links right now but if you search it up, you should find most of it.
I believe she's wearing either the argent crusade tabard, or the argent dawn tabard which was only available during the scourge invasion. And possibly, one of the newer tabards being released next patch for people who are champions of the argent crusade, and all your cities.

I'm gonna throw this on the Trial on the Champion boss pages once they're up, but so far...
Heroic Mode
Bosses hit pretty hard. I'd recommend epic item level gear of 200 to 213 minimum.
Mounted battle:
-Easy as hell if you're familiar with the
Battle Before The Citadel
and
Among the Champions
-If your horse gets to about 25% health, go get another horse. Don't wait to get dismounted or you'll get one-shotted.
First boss (3 bosses):
-Once they are off their mounts, the regular fight begins. Tanks need to be competent and re-equip their weapon and shield right away.
-Kill the sword and board boss first, as he does a nasty knockback to the tank.
-Kill the rogue boss second, as he throws poison around.
-Kill the hunter third and interrupt his AOE.
Second boss (I've only done Argent Confessor Paletress):
-She's a holy caster with no threat table, so healers have to watch the group.
-When she is low on life, she will summon an add and become immune to attacks. That add needs to be tanked and killed before she will go down.
-The add will cast an AOE fear, so a warrior tank or tremor totem is useful.
-Once the add is down, she dies pretty quickly.
Third boss (Black Knight):
-He has a couple hard-hitting attacks and a Descration AOE that players need to stay out of.
-Phase 1: Tank and spank the Knight, his add has no threat table and will explode at low health. DPS can kill the add before it explodes. The Knight will die and resurrect himself.
-Phase 2: Tank and spank the Knight, kill his multiple adds
one at a time
, as they will explode themselves at low health too. Treat these adds like the Freya lashers. The Knight will die and resurrect himself.
-Phase 3: Tank and spank the Knight. He will damage both the tank and another player at the same time, so this is a healing intensive phase.
The end.

on the fight:
I was unlucky enough to be in a group with a great tank but lackluster dps (me as the healer of doom). the random aggro table was pretty heinous, since the mages would just take it and be about ready to die. they never managed to kill a nightmare. I assume if you have strong dps who know how to play their class, it wouldnt be so bad.

The term "Confessor" refers to any priest (or priestess) who has been granted the ability to hear sins. At first I thought it referred to someone who wished to confess their sins, but apparently not.
Also, according to wikipedia, refers to those who have suffered persecution for their faith.
Edit: Fixed typo.

I just have to do this.....
After an intense fight at the Argent Tournament, Marcus goes in to see one of Paletress's sessions
He goes behind the confession screen and starts talking to Paletress
"I'd like to confess my sins to you Paletress"
"Lets talk outside"
"
I fought in the tournament today, and I killed my challenger, I have never killed a man before"
"Do you feel guilty bout this?"
"Yes"
"Well maybe I can ease that guilt a little"
Slowly they move closer and under the moonlight, they kiss romantically
The rest of the pages are blank

Edit: Forgot Marcus :)

I am almost convinced that Paletress will be revieled at a later date to be more than she appears now. There is just something, no alot of things about her that just make one feel we are not seeing the true character here. Perhapse even the Tuskar spirits we lay to rest with her book in the daily will be her minions in the fight which will unfold.

EDIT: Why are you downrating right information? Go create a priest and read the things you get on the right side. It sasy that "Althou undeads think the light "abandoned them" it's still important to find a balance between light and shadow"
They're downrating it because it's incorrect.
From
the Forsaken page
on wowwiki:
Before the time of the Scourge, many of those that would become Forsaken were devout priests of the Light. It would seem, however, that the Light has turned its back on the Forsaken, and they are unable to channel it. In this, the truth of their name becomes apparent.
The figure wore the robes of a priest of the Holy Light - not uncommon among the Forsaken, who mocked the order by wearing their garments and allowing the sacred robes to be soiled and tainted by their bloody work. Somehow, Andarin sensed, this figure was different; the robes seemed to be in almost tolerable condition, even if the body wearing them was not. "You wear the robes of a priest, Trevor. Why do you not channel the Light in battle, if you seek redemption?" The priest seemed to wince at that. "While I refuse to wield the shadow, the Light has refused me, or so it seems. And so, I am truly a broken man; I learned to wield spears of Light like Uther's knights did in the Second. Without the Light, I am unarmed and unarmored -- but not entirely helpless, as you see." Andarin couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the fallen priest, if his story was true. Perhaps a man, no matter how virtuous, could not channel holy power while in such a form."
I suspect that thing about "balance between light and shadow" in the character creation screen is a) a bit of throwaway lore that was not checked with existing precedent, and b) could have more to do with the balance between using their abilities offensively and defensively, in which case their use of "light" does not explicitly refer to the Holy Light.
Either way, it's quite solidly established in lore that undead are unable to wield the Light.

In response to Arkham's comment, the majority of undead cannot channel light. There are however exceptions in some cases. Sir Zeliek of the four horseman of Naxxramas was a paladin in life. Sir Seliek is a Death Knight who still has a consience and can still use the light, although he is still under control of the Lich King. So Undead can channel the Light, but i guess ou have to be quite exceptional with it in life.

So, if Taurens are druidic and do not worship the Light, what's with the Tauren Paladins in Cataclysm?
评论来自

Not sure where I read this about tauren paladins. But they're going to be called Sunwalkers; druids that worship the sun as Night Elves that worship Elune/the Moon. Lorewise, I believe they're still going to be druids; but with game mechanics :P... well, they can kinda only be paladins/priests.
It's just a different branch of druidism, pretty much.

Today I noticed Paletress gets killed by the 2 val'kyr bosses that invade the tournament. I am guessing this is supposed to happen right after you fight her in the arena of the 5 man instance and she walks out to confront the val kyr.
A group of val'kyr invade the tournament grounds, among them Eydis darkbane and Fjola Lightbane (Raid Bosses) the 2 val'kyr approach the gates and Paletress walks out to confront them, here is the dialogue:
"Argent Confessor Paletress says: In coming here, you have made a grave mistake. These tournament grounds are a bastion of the Light, and your power cannot match it.
I am sorry but you do not belong here and cannot be allowed to harm the innocents on the grounds."
She proceeds to smite Eydis darkbane but is quickly killed off by the val'kyr duo, however the two priests who usually keep them shackled appear and cast the shackling spell to bind them to which they reply in anger that they will have revenge.
In a messed up anecdote, the sequence with tirion, varian , and jaina was also happening at the same time so they walked right past paletress as she was killed and did nothing, how mean :(
