Drake Shadowflame Crests are the second tier of upgrade token in Dragonflight Season 2. They are created by combining 15 幼龙的暗影烈焰纹章碎片. Drake Shadowflame Crest fragments are earned through multiple sources. The first kills per week of Normal Aberrus Bosses award 10, and 15 per wing-end boss. M+6 to M+10 awards 5 fragments for completing a key and 12 if the key is completed in time. Zaralek Cavern weekly events, Weekly Quests such as 战斗就是最好的奖赏, brimming reputation bags such as 鼓囊囊的龙鳞探险队补给包, Rare Elites and Fyrakk Assaults can reward between 1 and 10 fragments each. You can also buy up to 30 Drake Shadowflame Crest Fragments per week from 斯宾索亚 for 出土的芬芳硬币. Players can earn 150 幼龙的暗影烈焰纹章碎片 during the first week of 10.1, and each subsequent week will increase the weekly cap by 150 so that after a few weeks, the cap will be high enough that no player will be hindered by it. Additionally, fragments earned through non-repeatable quests do not count towards this cap.
Drake Shadowflame Crests are used in combination with 飞珑石 to upgrade Dragonflight Season 2 PvE items from item levels 415 to 424 (Veteran rank 5/8 to 8/8 and Champion rank 1/8 to 4/8), where one crest is required per rank upgrade. Upgrades can be carried out at any Item Upgrade NPC, including 库佐尔兹 at /way #14022 56.6 56/ in the Zaralak Cavern.
Finally, you can trade one Drake Shadowflame Crest for one 雏龙的暗影烈焰纹章 with 瓦斯卡尔恩 at /way #14022 56.5 56.1/ in Loamm. These trades are also not counted towards the weekly Whelpling Shadowflame Crest cap.

Why does the vendor downgrage higher tier crests into trash crests. Why is it not the reverse.Do blizzard not want casual/non meta content players to spend 10x longer to still be 30+ itemlevels behind everyone. what is the point of that.The best you can do is 424 item level with just drake crests and crafter shadowflame gear,So why is there no catch up but a vendor just to set you back insteadmakes no sense to me.

What can you do with a Drake's Shadowflame crest? Once all of your gear is up to 424 level, nothing special. Trading them, for Whelping's crests seems just silly IMHO.

There are two things I can think of. The most obvious is to vendor them. You get 5G per, so 300 whelpling crest fragments are directly convertible to 100 Gold. Not much, but something. Probably not worth the time to go to a vendor, unless you have other stuff to empty from your bags. The same applies to Drake's Crests, but you still get only 5 Gold. (You should get more, for something that is more difficult to obtain!) Even so, I've sold multiple hundreds of crests by now.

Something I did with my Enchanter is to use them to upgrade lower level gear, then disenchant it to get better enchanting shards. But you need enchanting to do that.

The reality is the Dreamscape thing, where you can get a welfare epic every week for killing a boss, and those other 402 items you can get. I don't do mythics nor do I do raids. I am not in a guild, because honestly there is so very few people around, these days, and not just because so little to do.

Once you get max level gear, and don't do the raids or mythics because they are not something I enjoy at all, there isn't much else of interest at all. This is the area blizzard have failed for the past 20 years, and why they keep hemorrhaging players. Casual players genuinely have almost nothing to do that is worth doing that isn't a bore fest. I appreciate the ease at which alts can level and get to ilvl 385..just 1ilvl away from being able to do every dragon-flight lfr which doesn't interest me.

I can't give these away because stupidly they bop, or I would sling them on the ah. I have low level tailoring I gave up on almost as soon as I started it when I got to the dragon isles. Unless you have endless mats or a huge amount of gold you can buy the mats off the ah, it doesn't make sense to make anything, quest gear generally supersedes after making the first blue items.

Right now I have a number of these things but I don't see any place to upgrade anything, because my tailoring is way to low.
