Trash
Click the arrows to navigate through the trash path.
Pull the first two packs together. Interrupt or dispel the Nightmares cast (Felsworn Infester) and you'll find this pack to be very easy.
-> Most of the incoming damage will be on the tank who should pop a few cooldowns.
Next, you'll have to contend with Glayvianna, who is more of a boss than Ash'Golm. She has a few key abilities:
- Double Strike. Which deals heavy tank damage.
- Glaive. She'll toss out two at a time and they should be dodged.
- Swoop. Glayvianna will cast this through the tank and then swoop on through. Nobody should be standing behind the tank.
At 50% HP she'll transform into a demon, and deal 50% extra damage. How very nice. She also picks up a few new abilities:
- Immolation Aura. Heavy AoE damage to the party. Healer should have a cooldown ready.
- Fel Trap. These will appear on the ground in sets of three and are easily avoided.
The Myrmidon silences in a cone and Immoliant Fury's cleave so the pack should be faced away. They're reasonably heavy hitting mobs so keep your tank safe.
Grab the Belcher pack from the other side. They patrol up and down and can be pulled with the 10 Belchers up the stairs. They're very easy packs.
Weirdly Fel-Infused Fury is worth 0% trash but it's in our way so we have to kill it anyway.
-> Unleash Fury is a priority interrupt and will wipe your party.
-> They'll also cast Fel Gaze which will likely kill any player hit and can't be interrupted, but if you stun or knock him back during the channel then you'll avoid it.
Another tough pack. Face the mobs away and prioritize the Fel-Infused Fury.
Have somebody step into the bosses room to start the RP while you kill the easy two-pack.
Here's where your AoE DPS catches up. You can usually pull one side of the room pretty safely, and then another chunk of imps along with the Foul Mother. Imps keep respawning and the new ones are worth the same trash percentage.
-> The number of imps is determined by how long it takes you to reach this point of the instance. If you take longer, there will be more imps and more trash count!
The Foul Mother has a small pool under her model that reduces hit chance significantly. Other than that, she isn't very dangerous so long as you dodge the Mortar circles. You can grab some more imps at the same time.
You'll want to have 72.4% trash before you leave the room.
If the elevator is on its way down, then pop an Avalanche Elixir to follow it down. You won't take fall damage and it's significantly quicker.
The two fel pups at the back are actually a separate pack and you can bring down the Blade Dancer with just two dogs if you pull carefully. This can be a good idea on Necrotic weeks since it's pretty tough to reset stacks otherwise. Stun the Defiler's Drain casts and dispel Gift of the Doomsayer.
Alright, so we're skipping Grimhorn for sure since he's very slow and we don't need the trash percentage. We have two different ways of going about it. If everyone in your group has at least +30% movement speed (or has a sprint they can pop before they invis pot) then pop your potion here and run directly to the left. Don't stop running until you make it to the elevator. If you're in a slower team, then you'll have to walk back around and pop your invisibility potion from the center room.
If you have a hunter or rogue then you have a third option. They can pull Grimhorn, let the party run through and then Feign Death / Vanish to reset him. This is still slower than invis potting past Mendacius.
If you're kill Grimhorn then you should know that Torment (where someone is put in a cage) splits its damage between all targets standing on top of it. Just be careful to spread quickly when it ends so you're not hit by Anguished Souls.
Again, pop your Avalanche Elixir if the lift is on its way down.
The tank is usually the best candidate to hold the light. The Spiderlings will run away at about 40% so save your stuns / CCs.
Mobs that run out of the lights radius still take full damage from DoTs but are completely untargetable.
Stick hard to the left to avoid picking up the Spirit of Vengeance. Let the tank jump down first since you'll be contending with a few packs at once.
If you have more than 7 minutes on the clock, just head right instead of attempting the jump. It's much slower, but allows you to tackle one pack at a time and is much safer.
Drop a CC on the Spirit of Vengeance to the left if possible so that the tank can contend with them one at a time. If there are no tanks in range the Vengeance will throw glaives which deal less damage than the melee attacks but target random players..
The Broodmother isn't too dangerous, and you can usually pull it with the Spirit of Vengeance standing by the door. The door will open when the Spirit dies and you should send your fastest person to Cordana as soon as possible to start the RP.

Affixes
Let's take a look at notable affix interactions in Vault of the Wardens.
Bolstering doesn't change your pulls much in here, but there's a few things you'll want to keep in mind.
Avoid mixing Viletongue Belchers with any other mob because they have much less health.
Consider pulling the Blade Dancer after Inquisitor Tormentorum with just two of the dogs instead of all four. You can do this by pulling the dogs in front of her with a single target ability.
You probably don't want to pull more than one pack of Viletongue Belchers at a time. They are very easy to kill.
Tip: If you have a lot of immunities, considering just pulling all the Viletongue Belchers at the same time.
Imps don't burst when killed.
Most of the trash mobs can be stunned and kited if you need to drop stacks.
Tirathon will give you an opportunity to drop stacks while casting Hatred but this first occurs quite late into the fight. Try and get a drop earlier by having a DPS taunt while you run away. Time this just after Dark Strikes finishes to avoid giving the boss a shield.
Inquisitor is one of the worst bosses for Necrotic as there is no good time to drop Necrotic unless you push the boss fast enough.

You should know
Tirathon will use Vengeance Form first and end the fight in Havoc form.
Fel Fury adds will summoned from the fires on the ground roughly every 30 seconds and must be DPS'd down. If they're left to themselves they'll cast 10 Scorch and then Fel Detonation which is often deadly for high keys.
The tank must use their active mitigation when the boss casts Darkstrike and they'll have two seconds to do so. If they don't the boss will gain an absorption shield which makes him immune to interrupts. If this does happen your priority is to remove it as soon as possible since an uninterrupted Furious Blast can easily one shot your party.
In Havoc Form, Hatred will target a specific player initially but can then change targets so it needs to be given a wide berth by all players. You need to dodge the beam itself, as well as the explosion at the end of it. It might look like it's above you but it'll cut through you all the same.
Havoc Form will deal a large amount of damage and will strain your healer. It's important to finish the fight as soon as possible.

Let's look at each prison (two will be emptied during the fight)
Quillen (North-west). Danger: 3/10
Tank: Pick up the Enormous Stone Quillen. The Secretkeepers will pelt random targets and cannot be tanked. Bring to Quilen and the boss to one Secretkeeper.
The Secretkeepers are undead and if you CC them near their prisons then you can ignore them for the rest of the fight. If you don't have the correct CC then you should burn them down before the Quilen.
Void (North-east). Danger: 7/10
Tank: Pick up the Void-Touched juggernaut and face it away from the party since it has a pretty nasty cleave. You'll be taking heavy damage during this add pack so get some defensives up.
Avoid the pool left by
Shadow Crash
and interrupt all
Frightening Shout
casts from the Deranged Mindflayer.
Recommended kill order is Mindflayer > Voidcaster > Void-Touched juggernaut. Use as much of your AoE CC here as possible.
Corruption (South-east). Danger: 2/10
This is the easiest add set by far, if you play them correctly.
Every time a corruption blob dies it'll afflict a random party member with a
debuff
, which when dispelled will do a small AoE explosion in an 8 yard radius around them. Everyone afflicted should move out of the group and then you can either dispel the debuff or let it time out. If you handle this correctly then they pose no other danger.
Shadowmoon (South-west). Danger: 9/10
This is a horribly annoying pack with several very dangerous mechanics. Consider CC'ing the warlock while you deal with his friends. Otherwise the recommended kill order is Technician > Warlock > Annihilator. Only the Annihilator needs to be tanked.
Spread out. Almost all of the dangerous mechanics here hit in a 5 or 10 yard radius so spreading out in advance will greatly reduce your odds of making a mistake.
The Warlock spews Seed of Corruption and must be interrupted.
The Technician on the other hand will silence your casters, and throw bombs that explode in a 5 yard radius. I told you this pack was fun.
Meanwhile the Annihilator will mostly be punching your tank, but will occasionally zip to a random party member for a stun or to your healer for a pummel. It will also drop threat. Keep everyone on high HP, stay spread and use as many CC's and DPS cooldowns as you can.
You should also know
You should tank the boss to the side of the room. This lets you line of sight most add packs (to group them up) and nullifies the Inquisitive Stare ability since you'll always be facing the orbs.
Sap Soul can be removed with any rarely used ability (and can also be dispelled) and you should be careful not to cast two abilities in quick succession since it can occasionally lock out multiple spells.

Being hit by the blue Pulse orbs will cause them to split into four smaller purple orbs which deal the same damage if you hit them again and just crowd the platform in general. You can stack underneath the boss to avoid all orbs however you'll need to move out before Lingering Gaze is dropped. Any hyper mobile DPS or healers (BM hunters and resto druids for example) might choose to stay out full time.
This is a recommended fight for your
bloodlust
since it should be freshly back up from your first usage and you can negate a Beam phase with the extra DPS. You'll want to save it until after the first Beam phase since the boss will be taking an additional 100% damage for 15 seconds.
During the Beam phase the boss will emit Radiation, dealing heavy AoE damage to the party. It doesn't tend to be too deadly itself but it's enough to turn the Pulse orbs into one shot machines so you'll need to be especially vigilant.

You should know
Ash'golm is a reasonably easy fight where most of the mechanics are ignored in favor of just burning the boss. Reasonable, but risky for higher keys where we should really know more.
Pyroclast is chucked at a random player and will appear as a red circle on the floor. It will knock you back and potentially off the platform. Don't stand in it.
Fissure and Lava Wreath are the bosses two lava spawning vehicles with Fissure targeting the tank and drawing a line across the room and Lava Wreath dropping 4-5 lava patches around a random ranged DPS.
If you stand in lava you'll take a moderate stacking DoT but the lava will disappear. You can pop an immunity and remove an entire wave of lava from the fight.
If any lava hits one of the Embers they'll detonate, dealing
heavy
AoE damage to the party.
Click the frosty statues to freeze the platform after a short time, removing all lava and making the enemies take more damage. Use it at the beginning of the fight since all DPS cooldowns will be up and they'll respawn later in the fight for a second use.
Tip: The Boss will take 25% bonus damage from the Permafrost Phase. However his adds will take 100% bonus damage.

You should know
The light should be held by your most mobile non-tank player. Anyone can do the job, but the less DPS you lose the better (you are on a timer after all). On higher keys the fight can take a while so you'll need to stay on top of the Deepening Shadows.
Dodge the Fel Glaive
.
Make sure you stick together as a tight group during Creeping Doom. Stay clear of the edges of the platform wherever possible so that you've got time to move from a surprise wall.
The Avatar of Vengeance will always spawn in the same corner, and the Lightholder can wait for her there. If you stun the Avatar of Vengeance it removes Cordana's damage reduction shield.
Use Bloodlust in phase 1 if you're low on time, or phase 2 to best improve your odds of killing the boss.
Affix Details
For more information on any particular affix, click on the corresponding tab below.
Enemies who die will buff other nearby enemies with
激励
, causing them to gain 20% health and deal 20% additional damage. This can stack multiple times, resulting in an extremely dangerous enemy that will take a long time to defeat. The range on the buffing ability is 30 yards in 7.2. In addition, mobs affected by the
激励
buff will become immune to many types of CC (though they are still vulnerable to stuns).
This affix causes the end of a trash fight to be more dangerous than the start. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once, so that the maximum stack size of
激励
stays low
Attempt to DPS the enemies down evenly
However, if there is a priority target, such as the Wrathguard Bladelord in Black Rook Hold, it may still be beneficial to focus fire and kill these targets first
The healer will need to use cooldowns on the tank if possible when an enemy has high stacks of
激励
The
激励
affix does not apply to adds in a boss encounter. For example, killing the Risen Warriors in the Mythic+ Ymiron fight in Maw of Souls should not apply
激励
to Ymiron or any of the other Risen Warriors. However, if players drag trash packs into a boss fight, those trash mobs will apply
激励
to the boss when they die. This is undesirable. If players wish to save time by dragging trash into a boss fight, be sure to pull the trash more than 30 yards away from the boss before killing it.
Successful melee attacks will apply the
死疽溃烂
debuff to the struck player, reducing the potency of healing and absorption shields by 3% per stack, and dealing stacking damage. The
死疽溃烂
debuff lasts for 9 seconds in 7.2, but the duration of the debuff is refreshed each time a new stack is applied, so it will be very difficult for tanks to drop their stacks while actively in combat.
死疽溃烂
is removed upon dropping combat.
This can stack very rapidly on large trash packs, and can be a nuisance on boss fights. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once
Use AoE CCs, such as stuns, knockbacks, and slows, to allow the tank to kite effectively at high stacks of
死疽溃烂
During boss fights, a non-tank player with a taunt ability can taunt the boss away from the tank to allow
死疽溃烂
to fall off
At very high Keystone levels, groups may wish to bring two tanks to help manage the
死疽溃烂
debuff.
When the
震荡
affix is active, at random times throughout the dungeon (regardless of combat) all players will receive the
践踏
debuff and upon expiry inflict damage and interrupting active spell casts to themselves and nearby allies.
践踏
can apply when running between bosses and will continue to occur after the dungeon is completed. If your party's composition is melee heavy, make sure to spread out the circles whenever
践踏
is applied.
The
暴怒
affix causes enemies to
激怒
at 30% health, dealing 100% additional damage until they are defeated.
When this affix is active, AoE and cleave damage can be dangerous. Be sure to mark a priority target in each pull, and when that target
激怒
s, focus fire to bring it down quickly. Stuns and other forms of CC can be used to reduce the damage the party will take from
激怒
d mobs.
A pool of Sanguine IchorWhenever a non-boss enemy dies, a pool of
鲜血脓液
forms at its location. This spell has two effects:
鲜血脓液
heals enemies standing within it for 5% of their health each second
鲜血脓液
deals damage to players standing within it for 15% of their health each second
Tanks must pull the remaining mobs away from the location of the
鲜血脓液
pool, and melee DPS must be cautious. It does take several seconds for the
鲜血脓液
to form, so there is plenty of time to react and avoid damage.
This affix is particularly difficult when fighting large groups of trivial adds, and may require tanks to clear additional space or pull enemies back into previously cleared areas so there is room to kite. This is also a difficult mechanic in any area where the predominant floor color is red - particularly in the Oakheart-to-Dresaron stretch of Darkheart Thicket.
In 7.2, Sanguine pools have been changed to apply their first damage tick immediately. This means that it's more important to place the pools of sanguine in safe locations so that the group may traverse the dungeon without taking a large amount of damage from crossing the sanguine pools after combat has ended.
The
无常
affix causes tank threat to be less potent, meaning that DPS players are likely to pull threat off of the tank if not careful. Tanks should mark a priority target on which they will be focusing the brunt of their attacks, and DPS should try to avoid dealing too much damage to the non-priority targets.
Hunters and Rogues should help the tank by using
误导
and
嫁祸诀窍
respectively.
In a
繁盛
dungeon, the number of trash mobs that players must kill in order to meet the "Enemy Forces" requirement is increased to accommodate the additional trash.
The
繁盛
affix causes extra mobs to spawn in particular trash packs. Not every pack is affected, but many of the most dangerous trash packs are.
The
易爆
affix causes enemies that you are currently in combat with to spawn Fel Explosives within 3 yards of its current location. These Fel Explosives will begin to cast
爆炸
and if successful, will detonate dealing a significant amount of damage. Fel Explosives have a very small amount of HP but are completely immune to AoE spells such as
暴风雪
and
星辰坠落
.
Since every monster has a chance to spawn Fel Explosives, be careful about pulling too many monsters at a time. If you pull too many, you might spend all your time killing Fel Explosives and not actually hitting the monsters themselves!
These orbs are the top priority for all players!
The
重伤
affix is particularly dangerous against monsters that deal consistant AoE damage. When a player falls below 90% health, the
重伤
DoT is applied and begins to stack every couple of seconds until the player reaches full health. These stacks will cap at 5 but it's important for the healer to remove these as soon as possible to avoid falling behind. DPS should avoid taking as much damage as possible this week, since taking damage is extra punishing due to the
重伤
debuff.
崩裂
, is essentially one of the main mechanics from Mythic: Il'gynoth in the Emerald Nightmare. Whenever a monster is killed, all players will get a stack of
爆裂
which will stack. One or two stacks will not be deadly, but killing an entire pack of 8 packs simultaneously will probably end up killing the party.
During
崩裂
, it's important to stagger the deaths of the enemy forces so that the debuff doesn't stack up too high. Be careful not to use too many AoE abilities and kill the monsters too soon.
Immunity abilities such as
暗影斗篷
and
寒冰屏障
will remove all current stacks and prevent future stacks from applying.
A Volcanic Plume
Move before it erupts
Enemies in a
火山
dungeon will cause
岩浆柱
s to spawn beneath the feet of distant players. Two seconds later, the
岩浆柱
will erupt, dealing damage equal to 50% of the player's health to any player standing within 2 yards of the Plume. Both boss and trash mobs will cause Volcanic Plumes to form.
When fighting a single enemy, a
岩浆柱
will form approximately every 10 seconds.
Note that "distant" refers to the distance from the enemy mob. In most cases, melee DPS and tanks do not have to worry about this mechanic, and if ranged DPS and healers stand close to the enemies,
岩浆柱
s may not spawn. However, if there is an enemy that leaps away, or an add that spawns far from its summoner,
岩浆柱
s may begin to appear in melee range. This can occur during the following notable fights:
During the Inquisitor Tormentorum encounter in the Vault of the Wardens, due to the Tormenting Orbs
Fighting Valarjar Marksman in the Halls of Valor
Fighting Rockbound Trappers in Neltharion's Lair, or during the Naraxas encounter
岩浆柱
s can be difficult to see during bright or busy ground effects. Players should move out of the
岩浆柱
immediately upon noticing it, and may wish to preemptively move during mechanics such as Eye of the Storm in the Hyrja encounter, where constant unavoidable damage combined with the
岩浆柱
hit could cause a fatality.
强韧
is multiplicative with the Mythic+damage and health modifiersThis affix will only affect Keystones of level 10 or higher. In a
强韧
dungeon, all of the trash mobs have 20% more health and deal 30% additional damage.
Avoid pulling excessive trash packs
Use AoE CC and stuns liberally to reduce damage
Focus on priority targets
Tanks may need to kite enemies more frequently
Multiple tanks may be preferred for certain dungeons with particularly dangerous trash pulls
强韧
's damage and health bonuses are multiplicative with the Mythic+ damage and health bonuses shown in the table above. This means that on Mythic +10, the trash will all have 140% additional health and deal 180% additional damage. Certain trash packs may be able to one-shot party members with their mechanics under this affix; for example, the
瓦拉加尔刻符者
in
英灵殿
may instantly kill players with
破碎符文
if it is allowed to cast. Interrupts and performing trash mechanics properly are very important!
强韧
is particularly dangerous in combination with
激励
,
暴怒
, or
繁盛
affixes.
残暴
greatly increases thedanger of boss fightsThis affix will only affect Keystones of level 10 or higher. In a
残暴
dungeon, all of the bosses have 40% more health and deal 15% additional damage.
This can cause many extremely dangerous abilities to one-shot the party if health levels are not high enough
Serves as an additional gear check to these dungeons
Tanks may need to kite bosses more frequently
Multiple tanks may be preferred for certain dungeons with particularly threatening boss mechanics
残暴
's damage and health bonuses are multiplicative with the Mythic+ damage and health bonuses shown in the table above. This means that on Mythic +10, bosses will have 180% additional health and deal 140% additional damage. Certain bosses that gain percent-based damage modifiers during the course of their encounter pose particular problems in
