Trash Route and Tips
Click the arrows to navigate through the trash path.
We're going to be invis potting at the start of the dungeon through to the first boss. It's a little tight, but even with no movement speed boosts you should comfortably make it. This skips three awful trash packs that we don't need to make our trash percentage.
It's often easiest to have the tank and healer run up the stairs alone to pull down the first 5-6

. This makes it much easier for the party to dodge

when they die and eliminates any line of sight issues. Anyone hit by a

will be afflicted with

which needs to be dispelled regularly.
You can pull several

at a time, just make sure to dispel the tank on cooldown.

might look tough but all he does is melee the tank for low-moderate damage. Once the

are dead, you can pull the next group while you finish the

The

pack will pat between the large group and the staircase and in most cases should be taken at the top of the staircase.

random players. The attack can be line of sighted (use the walls) if you're low. They also cast from time to time. This hits a little further than its animation so it's best avoided by moving sideways out of it.
There are three separate pulls pictured here. The first two can be pulled together if you have exceptional AoE CC.

-> Tip: The cast is instant but if you interrupt it mid-jump using a stun or displacement ability, the cat won't land and the player won't take any damage. An

from a Resto Druid is great to prevent the damage. If you are unable to interrupt the jump then spread out to avoid multiple people being hit.
Commander Shemdah'sohn will jump down and instantly aggro to the party immediately after the preceding pack is dead. The commander is just a slightly harder hitting Soul-Torn Champion and should be faced away from the party. Consider CC'ing one of the
复活的弓箭手
or

to reduce the amount of party damage going out.
You can use the pillars on the side of the wall to line of sight Archer shots if necessary.
There isn't much to say here. Don't get hit by boulders ok?
This is just a pack of
虫语欺诈者
who do pretty much nothing and can be safely AoE'd down.
Depending on where the
愤怒卫士剑圣
is on its patrol you may want to pull it along with the five
虫语欺诈者
.

's signature ability is

which does insanely high tank damage.
-> Tip: The best way to deal with
猛攻
it is to stun him as the channel portion of the ability begins..

does nothing special.
Once you've cleared the pat, move on to the

pack. The tricksters have far less HP and you should keep this in mind during Bolstering.
The
虫语清道夫
will cast

at some point which will give them a random buff. The possibilities are:

- A big cone of fire fired in the direction of the tank.

, which quintuples his size and makes him deal increasing damage until killed.

, which causes the scavenger to spin towards a player and any player hit will become

. However, after the buff runs out, or the

is stunned, they will become

for a short time before spinning again.
Tip: You can stun

to delay the buff but they'll chain cast it until they get one off.
Grab the Scavenger / Felhound pack from the room and kill them with the scavengers.
This is a tough pack, but it actually pulls in two groups. The Tricksters are separate from the Bladelords - just pull carefully.
Seriously, don't die.
The Trickster / Scavenger pack at the top of the stairs is somewhat special in that they won't fight back. They're still pretty inefficient to kill though and we don't need them for trash percentage. Pull the Dominator / bat pack back to the top of the stairs so that you're not in range of new bats reaching the bottom of the staircase.
You've got two options:
- Pull the first two
魔怨支配者
(pictured above) and then jump off the staircase so that you can fight them without any new bats and reset before you go further.
- Try to pull the entire staircase to Smashspite's room, blowing all of your DPS / Healing cooldowns.
There are two casts that are important on this trash:
邪能狂乱
which is kickable and

which is not. Letting a cast of
可恶的蝙蝠!
with a large number of bats around will kill a player.
Tip: If there are no bats around, or the bats are stunned
可恶的蝙蝠!
will do nothing! For comps with a large number of AoE stuns or high AoE dps, this hallway becomes much eaiser.
Pulling the two Dominators in the tunnel will stop any new bats from spawning. You might want to pull them through to Smashspite's room so you have more room to play with.

Affixes
Let's take a look at notable affix interactions in Black Rook Hold
After the first boss, avoid pulling the Rook Spinner with a whole bunch of Spiderlings. It's still not particularly dangerous in any case but it's a slow kill.
After the second boss, the Tricksters have a lot less health than other Wyrmtongue. Try to avoid hitting them as much as possible, but it's inevitable they'll die early.
Grievous is dangerous here in that it makes all of those near one-shot boss abilities even more dangerous. The counterplay for them is much the same but help your healer out and knock back a Healing Potion after they hit.
Necrotic is totally fine for almost the entire instance. Then comes the Bat Stairs. It really depends on your strategy for tackling them but if you're not intending on doing it in one pull then I recommend having the tank run up the stairs alone to pull down the first two Felguards. They can then jump off the side and Necrotic will clear while the horde of angry bats makes its way down the stairs.
After the first boss, Raging Archers are a pain and you'll want to hard focus an Archer and keep them stunned below 30%, if you want to prevent your Priest getting one shot. Otherwise, use the walls to line of sight any Shoot casts below 30% health on yourself as the Shoot cast is 2 seconds long.
After the second boss, the Wyrmtongue who are affected by
消化不良
will be unwilling to move. Try to avoid killing other creatures on top of the fire breathing Wyrmtongue but if they're in Sanguine, you'll need to use displacement abilities to get them out of the Sanguine or have your entire party back off.

is targeted on a ranged DPS or healer and hits everyone in a 10 yard radius from that player. Spread out. It can be removed with Blessing of Protection and immunities.

it leaves underneath it. Kite it in a circle so that you don't use up too much of the small-ish arena.

isn't very dangerous but does cast a conal stun,

very similar to the trash before the boss.
The Arcanist will pelt random party members for increasing damage and should be interrupted.

really sucks, but can be roughly controlled. It'll dart between three players leaving fire along the path. You want to minimize the distance travelled, and then move quickly enough that you take a maximum of one tick of the fire. Anyone still carrying a Glaive Toss DoT will need heavy healing.

Stack your party to one side of the platform to keep the

grouped together. Stack up and move together from one side to the other. You're doing this to make sure you don't run out of space, and so you aren't knocked into it during

will target a random player at ranged but can be intercepted by anyone in the party by standing directly in Smashspite's path. To make sure you've got it lined up correctly it's best to stand directly on the directional arrow below his character. Hateful Gaze is physical damage and you'll want to chuck anyone with high armor or strong defensive cooldowns in the way. After you've taken one you'll be stamped with a debuff to discourage taking the next couple so you'll need a rotation.
The Tank will be able to take more than one stack of
怨恨凝视
but the ability can also be
Dodged
and
Deflected
(In other words: Parried). Rogues with
闪避
will take no damage or a Feral Druid with

will be able to take every

by shifting out of Cat Form for every one.

is on a timer and deals a large amount of damage to the tank. They'll need to be topped up before and after it hits. It also leaves a pretty annoying DoT so you'll want to blow through this phase as quickly as you can. The DoT can be removed with

if available but once the player is affected by

, the damage is barely noticeable.
1 will target a player and then spin slowly toward them, chunking anyone in its path. They're unlikely to one shot you but you'll need to dodge them all the same.
Latosius will pelt your party with Shadow Bolts from above, occasionally stopping to throw out a

as a preview for the next phase. You can mostly ignore him.
Phase 2 (Dantalionax Phase)
You'll have to take the first
暗影箭雨
without

. This occurs about 10 seconds into the phase and is highly likely to one shot anyone without a large defensive up. Your healer needs to have the party at 100% life before it hits and blow every defensive ability and immunity. Anyone who dies to this cannot be battle ressed since they won't get

.
DoTs continue to tick while he's away chucking beams. He's away for about 23 seconds so you'll want to refresh them.
The first Swarm will go out shortly after the Shadowbolt Volley and this person will need immediate healing. Hard focus the Swarms and run them into melee so that the boss is getting cleaved as you kill them. The damage that the Swarms do is very high so you'll need to kill them as soon as possible.
Healers can dispel anyone that stands in a
催眠之云
.
Since 7.2.5 the beam will now travel in a random direction but won't change directions once it's started moving. The initial line is targeted at a random player, but stacking is unnecessary.
Affix Details

Enemies who die will buff other nearby enemies with
激励
, causing them to gain 20% health and deal 20% additional damage. This can stack multiple times, resulting in an extremely dangerous enemy that will take a long time to defeat. The range on the buffing ability is 30 yards in 7.2. In addition, mobs affected by the
激励
buff will become immune to many types of CC (though they are still vulnerable to stuns).
This affix causes the end of a trash fight to be more dangerous than the start. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once, so that the maximum stack size of
激励
stays low
Attempt to DPS the enemies down evenly
However, if there is a priority target, such as the Wrathguard Bladelord in Black Rook Hold, it may still be beneficial to focus fire and kill these targets first
The healer will need to use cooldowns on the tank if possible when an enemy has high stacks of
激励
The
激励
affix does not apply to adds in a boss encounter. For example, killing the Risen Warriors in the Mythic+ Ymiron fight in Maw of Souls should not apply
激励
to Ymiron or any of the other Risen Warriors. However, if players drag trash packs into a boss fight, those trash mobs will apply
激励
to the boss when they die. This is undesirable. If players wish to save time by dragging trash into a boss fight, be sure to pull the trash more than 30 yards away from the boss before killing it.
Successful melee attacks will apply the
死疽溃烂
debuff to the struck player, reducing the potency of healing and absorption shields by 3% per stack, and dealing stacking damage. The
死疽溃烂
debuff lasts for 9 seconds in 7.2, but the duration of the debuff is refreshed each time a new stack is applied, so it will be very difficult for tanks to drop their stacks while actively in combat.
死疽溃烂
is removed upon dropping combat.
This can stack very rapidly on large trash packs, and can be a nuisance on boss fights. Players should follow these general guidelines:
Do not pull multiple trash packs at once
Use AoE CCs, such as stuns, knockbacks, and slows, to allow the tank to kite effectively at high stacks of
死疽溃烂
During boss fights, a non-tank player with a taunt ability can taunt the boss away from the tank to allow
死疽溃烂
to fall off
At very high Keystone levels, groups may wish to bring two tanks to help manage the
死疽溃烂
debuff.
When the
震荡
affix is active, at random times throughout the dungeon (regardless of combat) all players will receive the
践踏
debuff and upon expiry inflict damage and interrupting active spell casts to themselves and nearby allies.
践踏
can apply when running between bosses and will continue to occur after the dungeon is completed. If your party's composition is melee heavy, make sure to spread out the circles whenever
践踏
is applied.
The
暴怒
affix causes enemies to
激怒
at 30% health, dealing 100% additional damage until they are defeated.
When this affix is active, AoE and cleave damage can be dangerous. Be sure to mark a priority target in each pull, and when that target
激怒
s, focus fire to bring it down quickly. Stuns and other forms of CC can be used to reduce the damage the party will take from
激怒
d mobs.
A pool of Sanguine IchorWhenever a non-boss enemy dies, a pool of
鲜血脓液
forms at its location. This spell has two effects:
鲜血脓液
heals enemies standing within it for 5% of their health each second
鲜血脓液
deals damage to players standing within it for 15% of their health each second
Tanks must pull the remaining mobs away from the location of the
鲜血脓液
pool, and melee DPS must be cautious. It does take several seconds for the
鲜血脓液
to form, so there is plenty of time to react and avoid damage.
This affix is particularly difficult when fighting large groups of trivial adds, and may require tanks to clear additional space or pull enemies back into previously cleared areas so there is room to kite. This is also a difficult mechanic in any area where the predominant floor color is red - particularly in the Oakheart-to-Dresaron stretch of Darkheart Thicket.
In 7.2, Sanguine pools have been changed to apply their first damage tick immediately. This means that it's more important to place the pools of sanguine in safe locations so that the group may traverse the dungeon without taking a large amount of damage from crossing the sanguine pools after combat has ended.
The
无常
affix causes tank threat to be less potent, meaning that DPS players are likely to pull threat off of the tank if not careful. Tanks should mark a priority target on which they will be focusing the brunt of their attacks, and DPS should try to avoid dealing too much damage to the non-priority targets.
Hunters and Rogues should help the tank by using
误导
and
嫁祸诀窍
respectively.
In a
繁盛
dungeon, the number of trash mobs that players must kill in order to meet the "Enemy Forces" requirement is increased to accommodate the additional trash.
The
繁盛
affix causes extra mobs to spawn in particular trash packs. Not every pack is affected, but many of the most dangerous trash packs are.
The
易爆
affix causes enemies that you are currently in combat with to spawn Fel Explosives within 3 yards of its current location. These Fel Explosives will begin to cast
爆炸
and if successful, will detonate dealing a significant amount of damage. Fel Explosives have a very small amount of HP but are completely immune to AoE spells such as
暴风雪
and
星辰坠落
.
Since every monster has a chance to spawn Fel Explosives, be careful about pulling too many monsters at a time. If you pull too many, you might spend all your time killing Fel Explosives and not actually hitting the monsters themselves!
These orbs are the top priority for all players!
The
重伤
affix is particularly dangerous against monsters that deal consistant AoE damage. When a player falls below 90% health, the
重伤
DoT is applied and begins to stack every couple of seconds until the player reaches full health. These stacks will cap at 5 but it's important for the healer to remove these as soon as possible to avoid falling behind. DPS should avoid taking as much damage as possible this week, since taking damage is extra punishing due to the
重伤
debuff.
崩裂
, is essentially one of the main mechanics from Mythic: Il'gynoth in the Emerald Nightmare. Whenever a monster is killed, all players will get a stack of
爆裂
which will stack. One or two stacks will not be deadly, but killing an entire pack of 8 packs simultaneously will probably end up killing the party.
During
崩裂
, it's important to stagger the deaths of the enemy forces so that the debuff doesn't stack up too high. Be careful not to use too many AoE abilities and kill the monsters too soon.
Immunity abilities such as
暗影斗篷
and
寒冰屏障
will remove all current stacks and prevent future stacks from applying.
A Volcanic Plume
Move before it erupts
Enemies in a
火山
dungeon will cause
岩浆柱
s to spawn beneath the feet of distant players. Two seconds later, the
岩浆柱
will erupt, dealing damage equal to 50% of the player's health to any player standing within 2 yards of the Plume. Both boss and trash mobs will cause Volcanic Plumes to form.
When fighting a single enemy, a
岩浆柱
will form approximately every 10 seconds.
Note that "distant" refers to the distance from the enemy mob. In most cases, melee DPS and tanks do not have to worry about this mechanic, and if ranged DPS and healers stand close to the enemies,
岩浆柱
s may not spawn. However, if there is an enemy that leaps away, or an add that spawns far from its summoner,
岩浆柱
s may begin to appear in melee range. This can occur during the following notable fights:
During the Inquisitor Tormentorum encounter in the Vault of the Wardens, due to the Tormenting Orbs
Fighting Valarjar Marksman in the Halls of Valor
Fighting Rockbound Trappers in Neltharion's Lair, or during the Naraxas encounter

s can be difficult to see during bright or busy ground effects. Players should move out of the
岩浆柱
immediately upon noticing it, and may wish to preemptively move during mechanics such as Eye of the Storm in the Hyrja encounter, where constant unavoidable damage combined with the
岩浆柱
hit could cause a fatality.

is multiplicative with the Mythic+damage and health modifiersThis affix will only affect Keystones of level 10 or higher. In a
强韧
dungeon, all of the trash mobs have 20% more health and deal 30% additional damage.
Avoid pulling excessive trash packs
Use AoE CC and stuns liberally to reduce damage
Focus on priority targets
Tanks may need to kite enemies more frequently
Multiple tanks may be preferred for certain dungeons with particularly dangerous trash pulls

's damage and health bonuses are multiplicative with the Mythic+ damage and health bonuses shown in the table above. This means that on Mythic +10, the trash will all have 140% additional health and deal 180% additional damage. Certain trash packs may be able to one-shot party members with their mechanics under this affix; for example, the

Certain bosses that gain percent-based damage modifiers during the course of their encounter pose particular problems in
