Fast cast time makes this the spell of choice against melee targets. Talents will give this the same cast time as the global cooldown and will give it a 70% chance to ignore extra cast time due to damage taken.

I don't know how notable this is, but with the talent to reduce cast time of wrath to 1.5 seconds, and when Nature's Grace procs, the cast time is then reduced to 1 second.
With rank 1 of Wrath and these talents, it would be a 0.5 second cast (which is rather pointless, but interesting).
In either case, the global cooldown is reduced according to the cast time of this spell while you're casting. So if the cast time was reduced to 1 second, the global cooldown then is 1 second, and you can cast anything at all again in 1 second. However, this applies while you're casting Wrath under these conditions.

Probably the best burst damage / high dps spell in the game. Beats other 1.5 cast spell just because it scales much better coming as a 2.0 cast spell.

A quick blast of natural energy, Wrath is the basic attack spell for Druids who are just beginning their journey. The rank 1 has a fair mana cost and kills most targets in 3 shots. It also has a very quick cast.

Wrath is a faster spell for direct damage(compared to the more powerful Starfire that you learn later). When there is a short interval for casting a ranged spell, use Wrath.

Huh. I was wondering why i was only getting ~1k damage with +800 spell and talents. Why the hell would they nerf your output? I mean, besides Blizz being bound and determined to make druids spam moonfire and oom as much as possible in PVP.

Wrath is changing from being a 1.5 sec cast (talented) to a 2.0 second cast (talented too). I don't like this change, 'cause this 1.5 sec nuke was one of the best things moonkin had, now it's just like shaman's lightning bolt, getting benefit from eclipse instead of lightning mastery. I suposse Blizz made this change just to make lesser difference between wrath and the other nuke, starfire, which now is 2.7 sec cast (talented).

Does not generate Lunar Energy if you are under the effects of Lunar Eclipse, even if you have under 100 Lunar Energy.

Can confirm the new changes to both the Wrath icon and the effect. The icon looks almost like sun lightning and the effect is like a sunbolt with a sound like electricity. Hard to explain but hopefully you get the idea :)

Finally,Wrath actually looks like something to do with solar energy in 4.3! After the cataclysm changes to the balance druid (Eclipse buffs) most of the "Solar Spells" a druid could use didn't look fitting- shooting bolts of green energy didn't suit the theme of Solar energy. But the new animation is much more updated and fitting to the theme :)

Druids have it tough right from the beginning!
DRUID'S Wrath: 12-14 damage (20 mana, 1.5 sec)
SHAMAN's Lightning Bolt: 13-15 damage (20 mana, 1.5 sec)
WARLOCK'S Shadow Bolt: 12-16 damage (25 mana, 1.7 sec)
PRIEST'S Smite: 13-17 damage (20 mana, 1.5 sec)
MAGE'S Fireball: 14-22 damage + 2 damage over time (30 mana, 1.5 sec)
Clearly the mage, and to a lesser extent the priest, have more damage potential than a druid at level 1!

I rarely use wrath because I keep the enemy rooted so I can starfire them. Starfire does way more damage, and is more mana effecient. The only reason I'd use this is extremely low mana or if I need a fast cast. This does get much better though once you get 'Celestial Focus' and you don't lose casting time 70% of the time.

400 exp, if you kill lvl 1 enemies they're 40 exp a piece, and most enemies are lvl 1, however, some quests require only 8 kills. If we're getting into what classes get off easy and who has it harder, why doesn't anyone look at rogues, I mean, casters get to sit there for 20 seconds after every other fight at lvl 1, but rogues just run to the next mob and energy is back. I've done my rant, yell at me and say I'm wrong now, you know you want to.

Wrath is acctually a really useful spell if your a balance druid, i have 68 druid, and have been balance thorugh all those 68 levels. Yes starfire is a brilliant spell for dmg (for druids) and is a good opener followed by roots, but if the target is immune to arcane (i think mana wraiths are and prob some others) then wrath is an excelent spell to spam. with the talents (cant remember the names) that give a 0.5 second reduced casting time and 70% chance to avoid interuption alot of the time its better and easier to attack casters and mele enimies with this spell, because its quick (1 second with natures grace on criticals) and u rarely get interuption. where as the time it take to cast roots (if your nature's grasp is on CD)step back and then cast starfire (which normally breaks them out of roots straight away) its more benificial to just stand there, take a small amount of dmg and blast them with wrath.
thats my opinion anyway (if anyone think 'what a noob' then i think you need to realise that there are many different ways to play a balance druid and this is one option that i sometimes use depending on the situation, and hey ive made it to lvl 68 useing this tactic many times)
sorry for the long post it just does my head in when people say that a spell is useless, every spell (even sooth animal) has a use and was put there for a reason, learn how to use your spells effectivly. And thanks for taking the time to read my comment :)

i agree with u every class has a spell that doesn't look so important but to tell the truth having a spell in your spellbook means there is a reason it is there or blizzard would have it replaced deleted or not even give it to you.

this spell.. is the best spell EVER! with talents it actually keeps it's frikkin' 1.5sec cast! making is low on direct damage but high on dps!
