Is it needed for the proto-drake line?
I got my merrymaker title last year, and I just noticed this was added.
Seems to me, if they keep adding things, no one is gonna get thier drake.

Quoted from the Winter Veil Guide for 2009
http://www.wowhead.com/?guide=winter-veil
This achievement is new for 2009's Winter Veil festival, and involves what players speculate to be this year's special Winter Veil Gift. For this achievement, you will have to use your newly acquired BB gun (presumably) to pelt each of the opposing faction's leaders - how mean! First snowballs, now BBs? What ever happened to respecting authority? Not exactly sure how you're going to get out there safely to pull this one off just yet, maybe there will be some sort of training ground and you don't have to shoot the actual NPCs.

When you hit someone of these bosses with your
Red Rider Air Rifle
They Will aggro so better watch out!
Best macro to do this thing is:
#showtooltip
/cleartarget
/tar Tyrande
/tar Anduin
/tar Muradin
/tar Prophet
/stopmacro
/use Red Rider Air Rifle
Theres only 200charges so Remember to use them wisely! ^^
Edit: Macro and bullet can miss
Edit: link to the item
Edit: As Catalysm came you dont need to shoot High Tinker anymore.
Edit: As of Legion Varian is no longer part of us so Macro has been changed Accordingly

Please note that sometimes this MISSES, and also that cast gets interrupted when you get hit.
Making this for a pretty annoying achievement.
When you "miss" the faction leader will get a "startled - did someone shoot at me?" debuff, and it wont tick towards achievement.
It's already an aggravating achievement, but the cast-time and miss-chance are just ridiculous...

Really annoying achivment - when shoting boss he will aggro, so you probably die several times trying to do this (esspecialy if u can miss with your rifle).

The gun seems to still use the old Hunter 'Dead Zone' meaning that you cant be closer than 8 yards or then gun wont fire.
It doesn't use your hit rating to calculate the hit/miss. Im a level 80 hit capped hunter and i missed when shooting at Gamon.

This achievement is not required for the meta, so you don't have to do it unless you want 10 achievement points to increase the length of your epeen a little bit.
The gun can only be used on
HOSTILE
targets, which means you cannot go to argent tournament and use it on them to get credit for the achievement. You must actually run through each city and use it. The gun also does 1 damage to the target it is used on, so it will aggro the boss and you will probably die.

To do this achievement you have to use the
Red Rider Air Rifle
(not in the database yet) on enemy leaders. You get the rifle from a present under the tree in Orgrimmar.
This means, you'll be going into their cities and using the rifle on them. It
DOESN'T
work to shoot the NPC's in ToC.
One thing you must know about this rifle is that when you shoot the boss, it will most probably aggro you. Another thing is that,
IT CAN MISS
, so make sure you check the achievement before leaving that city. I'd recommend shooting it a few times to be safe. The cast is not instant, although it's quick. I assume it can be interrupted/slowed if you are hit by the guards.
Here is the route that I took:
Start off in Orgrimmar, fly to
Zoram'gar
in Ashenvale (or Bloodvenom Post in Felwood if you have a way to fall down safely). Go to
Auberdine
, take the boat to
Azuremyst Isle
(Exodar). Locate Prophet Velen and use the rifle on him. Escape Exodar (or corpse run, if you were unlucky), go back to Darkshore, and take the boat to
Darnassus
. Here you will use the rifle on Tyrande Whisperwind, and go right back to the boat in Darkshore. Again, you'll be taking the boat, this time to
Stormwind
. King Varian was the hardest one for me - he hits like a truck :) Be careful there. From Stormwind, take the tram to
Ironforge
. High Tinker is right outside of the tram, and King Magni near the Great Forge. Magni was the second hardest boss to survive at.
Remember to use the gun a few times just to be safe.
I did this in a group of two, died three times - guess it's unavoidable in a smaller group.
Good luck! :)

Just completed this solo without dying once (rogue).
Tips for horde rogues (and probably druids, possibly hunter feign, mage invis, pally bubble, etc with careful usage):
Tyrande Whisperwind(Darnassus):
Stand directly in front of her at max range, shoot, then sprint forwards/to the right and leap over the edge and head out the door and vanish. You should drop combat and nothing will follow you. Pretty easy.
Prophet Velen(Exodar):
Walk between them and get on the ledge behind them, shoot, and sprint/leap off the ledge. The hardest part here is finding a corner of the zone far enough away to not spawn guards when you kill the last ones on you. I don't know anything about exodar so I just kited them all over the rising platforms and jumped off until I found a corner where I had 1 guard alone to kill away from a guard-spawning area and finished it. Gouge/spam crippling to get distance, lotta guards follow you here.
King Varian Wrynn(Stormwind):
Go into the room with the Bishop on the right, sap a guard and fire at Varian. He'll charge you and you'll get mass-rushed and almost get one-shotted. Trinket the stun, sprint and vanish/run to the far right corner of the room and kill the 1 guard who will be left on you. Evasion/gouge/CloS glyphed as pain supression are your friend.
King Magni Bronzebeard(Ironforge):
Simple, sap the guard next to the tree, open fire, sprint out the door and head left through the giant opening into the mystic ward. One guard will remain to kill and combat will drop.
High Tinker Mekkatorque(Ironforge):
Definitely the easiest for anyone. Pop 'em and hit the instance portal to Deeprun Tram.
WTS one slightly used BB gun.

I got stunned twice in a row. Couldn't figure out why until I looked in my combat log.
I think there's a random chance to get hit "Right in the Eye" with your own gun (reference to The Christmas Story" movie).

This is actually pretty annoying to do. The gun misses, a lot I might add. I had to run back 3 times between deaths for bronzebeard, and 5 times for whisperwind because the gun kept missing and once they're in melee range, you can't shoot it anymore.
Misses much more than standard 8% miss versus bosses, and to make matters worse, being hit capped has no bearing on whether it will hit or not.
The gun also has a chance to missfire, and when it does, you will get a debuff
Right in the Eye!
and be stunned for 5 seconds. Very deadly when trying to pelt a leader. This gun is much more harmful to you than anything you can target with it.

If you are doing this solo It can be hard to get a shot off before getting killed. When you go after Prophet Velen there are some boxes stacked on each other near Velen. Jump up on top of them and when you rez you will not aggro any mobs giving you one or two good shots which is all it should take. If you stand at the foot of the ramp in Ironforge when getting King Magni it should give you enough time to shoot him once or if your a lock, get off a Howl of Terror and then pop him while they are running.

I've been here for about 15mins and he hasn't spawned. I do see the other 3 kings that I need, I tried pelting one of them, but I'm not sure if I either missed, or if you have to shoot the one in their city for it to count. Either way, this is annoying. I did this achievement today as of patch 4.1 which is very much easier if you have the ability to stealth. Which will at least get you into position to shoot at least.
Stormwind
is definitely the worst as I could only manage 1 shot before being interrupted and killed (as well as the horrendous corpse run). you can also fly behind stormwind keep and target with /tar king and mark him so he's easy to find. you can fly through a window on the northwest of the king to make it a bit easier. Making your way out, you should be able to res to that northwest side too.
Ironforge
is fiddly as a stealthy with very narrow doorways its easy to get spotted (if you're not a rogue to sap with, i'm a druid) and theres no shortcuts really for non-stealthies. But you should be able to get 2 shots off at muradin. At least this place is not as populated as much as it used to be.
Darnassus
you can get to by flying from Darkshore, just look for the extent of the fatigue water first. And then fly straight up to Darnassus. You can fly above the Temple of the moon where Tyrande is at and use /target tyrande and mark her. But watch out for the flying guards above. Its a bit of a run up a ramp where you have to circle around inside to get to her. If you're a stealthie you can position yourself with your back to the wall (try dying here if you're not a stealthie). From here i was able to get 3 shots off at Tyrande.
Exodar
you can reach taking the boat from the westernmost pier from Rutheran village. Note that you can't fly around in the Draenei areas (like the belf areas). But this place should be really deserted so you can wander around without it being too bad until you find the Prophet. Who is near the center and then work your way outwards to Vault of Lights.
In all honesty, look out for people doing the For the Horde! achievement and tag along with it, easiest way you'll get this achievement done. Good luck!

Finished this quest this evening as a lvl 85 Prot Pally. First thing I did was to dump all my gear. I did Darn, Exo, Iron and Storm in that order. I used the following macro and completed each as follows...
#showtooltip
/cleartarget
/tar Muradin Bronzebeard
/tar King Varian Wrynn
/tar Tyrande Whisperwind
/tar Prophet Velen
/stopmacro
/use Red Rider Air Rifle
1) Darnassus - Allowed myself to be killed under the platform that Tyr is standing on. Ran back and up the ramp and rez on the platform shoot Tyr and die.
2) Exodar - After exiting the ship go in the entrance for Exodar on your left, this will bring you very close to where Velen is. I was able to run right up to Velen before I was killed. Run back, rez, shoot him and die again.
*) Make you way to the eastern kingdoms...
3) Ironforge - Since the introduction of flight in the old world this is now a lot easier. I was able to fly into the center of Muradin's throne room before i was dismounted and actually got my shot off before being killed. Worse case scenario, fly in die, run back, rez, shoot, die. :)
4) Stormwind - Last and certainly not least was King Varian Wrynn. I strongly suggest flying into Stormwind from the northeast and entering the keep through an opened roofed "garden" that has direct access to the King's Throne Room. This one proved a little more "interesting" than the others since it is a very confined space. Eventually I had to rez, bubble, shoot, shoot, shoot several times before getting a hit.
A couple things to keep in the mind the range on the bb gun is 8-25 if the target is closer or further than those values it won't work. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you can accomplish this later in the evening in the middle of the week (Wednesday or Thursday) you will have significantly less people camping your corpse.
Either way, good luck, happy hunting and I hope this helps,
Malleosancti

It's very easy but time consuming. It's ok to be nervous; everybody dies doing this. Just be prepared from the beginning to corpse run. Get as close as you can to each city's king before getting killed somehow, then corpse-run back and revive a little closer to the king than you were before. Repeat this until you're close enough to fire off a shot from your red rider rifle. Hearth out, or, just leave the same way you came out.
*edit- I don't know why this was downrated. A lot of people are really uncomfortable with being flagged for PvP, and I want to encourage them that they too can do this quest (and others like it).

I just completed this with a friend of mine. I was on my mage and he on his warrior. It took us a few deaths to get into each throne room, but once there we basically took turns to aggro and give the other the time to shoot. He'd rez and immediately taunt, and I'd rez and immediately iceblock.
I had to come back later to Stormwind because of how many alliance came after the warrior got his shot done, but once there I just used invisibility outside the keep, walked in, stood right in the middle of the room, and got it.
You'll have to stagger your tries over a few hours more than likely, as alliance like to come to the stormwind one. The others if the gun missed we were just able to come right back and try again.
I'd also suggest not wearing much gear as you WILL get a large repair bill.

"King Varian Wrynn" took around 10 tries. And was definitely the hardest. I thought i shot at him all the tries. But i realized it didn't shoot.
You can watch your combat log and check for sure. What i did is went into
bg and go all the buffs to get higher stamina
therefor i can have better chance for the castbar to load before you die.
Pop ur cds
also that can improve ur defense.
Good luck.

Not getting any credit for Tyrande even though I'm using
红色骑兵气枪
right in her face, IN DARNASUS, as well as combat log saying she gets the 'startled' debuff. Died twice now. I'm not corpse running anymore because of Blizzards failure..

Having just done this achievement in 2011, I'll post what I found for each Alliance faction leader:
Tyrande - pretty hard to reach, seeing as your only point of entry requires you to go in on the ground level, then get up to the first floor, then curve around to her.
Velen - also hard to reach, given that you can't fly, so you're going to draw aggro on your way too him, and getting hit delays the shot being fired.
Varian - probably the easiest one; the little courtyard to the northwest of his location is a nice, mostly vacant area and great for landing in on a mount.
Muradin - the second easiest; as soon as you clear the gate of Ironforge you can get to his location fairly aggro-free, and then fire the shot.
Other points:
*Invisibility potions are golden. If you use them on the way in, you can save a couple corpse runs in the extra distance you cover. If you use them on the way out, you can hearth uninterrupted (as the effect breaks on a successful spell cast, not the actual start of a cast).
*While you can go in fully geared and take on the guards, you're still probably gonna die as you run away from the faction leader. Going in naked my make things take longer, but will save you money.
*Anything to reduce the cast time of the shot (1 second by default) or avoid interruption due to damage will be helpful - so things like Divine Shield, Power Word: Shield, Ice Barrier and Totem of Tranquil Mind. If you don't have any way to significantly negate the cast time increase from being attacked, you might have to go in fully geared just so you can survive long enough to get the shot off (it's quite hard to position yourself within 30 yards of the leaders yet out of any aggro ranges). Haste gear could be helpful (I'm not sure if haste would affect the cast time, but I imagine it would).
*It's possible to miss, and given that they're boss level mobs you'd need a decent chunk of hit to negate it entirely. So if you're going with the naked approach, it's something to keep in mind - make sure you track the achievement and don't leave simply because you got the shot off.
*Do the Caroling achievement at the same time, if you haven't already.

I struggled a little with Muradin but examination of the Combat Log helps. I was interrupted. I was blocked. And I was too close. Of the actual shots that landed properly, I would say about 3, the 3rd one counted. The others just gave the "startled" debuff.
As Enhancement Shaman, the Earth elemental "tanking" golem helps a lot. It stops Muradin Bronzebeard rushing up and thus getting too close.
Oh yeah.... so many NPCs trying to attack you - You will be silenced / stunned (one or the other I can't be sure) at times.
For Muradin, as soon as you enter his room, flying of course, turn left and land. It a safe area. A good place to buff up and heal after a rez. If you do as another poster says, just take a few steps in, you will pull aggro from the guards in the doorway, one stationary guard much furtehr in, a level 20 (from memory) NPC, and maybe a roaming guard NPC. To get to within 30 yards you need to be deep within the centre of the room. You'll not get there freely, unless you are stealthed.
Two person these - each of you takes turns to die first and draw aggro while the other gets a nice clean cast from the correct distance, before also dieing.
Naked is the way to go too. Saves heaps on repairs.

Helps to have the achievement tracked, you can tell if the shot counted by a simple glance to see if target's name disappears from list.

- Approach the Temple of the Moon from the southwest edge of the island. There are relatively few guards and you should be able to fly right in the north entryway. The victim is on the second floor, so you need to make it past a bunch of elves and go up a spiral stair in the southern part of the temple. I had the best luck taking the shot from a diagonal along the north wall of the temple.
先知维伦
- Enter Exodar from the ramp closest to the boat. There are a couple guards in this ramp; just run past them on your mount. Velen is up a set of stairs on the right. The guards wasted me up here, but I was able to get a shot off by following another poster's advice to stand on some nearby boxes before resurrecting. This gives you the couple seconds that you need to get a shot fired.
穆拉丁·铜须
- Enter Ironforge on a flying mount, and use the same ducts that Alliance Wind-Riders to get from the Gates of Ironforge to The Commons, and then to The Great Forge. The duct into The Great Forge empties directly above the room with Muradin. You can take a brief break to buff up here. Step a few feet in and use the macro others have provided to target to pull the trigger. This was the easiest of the Alliance bunch, and you should be able to get it on the first try.
瓦里安·乌瑞恩国王
- Enter with a flying mount through the open garden windows on the northwest side of Stormwind Keep. This is the same room where
塞纳里奥使者安亚·碧月
can be found. There are no guards in this room, so you can catch your breath & buff before making the assault. The King is surrounded by level 85 Stormwind Guards who will immediately start pelting you with crossbow bolts. If you die here, you can easily get the King on the next try. Do a corpse run back to Stormwind Keep. The pillars around the room have three tiers and can be jumped on. If you jump up here you'll buy yourself enough time to get a shot off before all of the guard axe you. Jump on the pillar closest to the northwest exit, but not on the pillar closest to the King. Face the King, target the King, and have a hotkey ready to BB the King.
As a general tip I'd recommend pairing this with

(and be aware that neither of these enemy-faction achievements is necessary to earn the

I have previously posted here I know but this time a guide to all 4 Alliance bosses. I did this with a couple of lower level guildies, including one who couldn't fly. So possible at any level I suppose.
先知维伦
From the harbour go down the winding path and at the bottom will be two guards who need to be dealt with. Exodar guards hit a lot harder than the capital city guards elsewhere so be warned. Either kill these or run! Whatever, at the bottom of the ramp you do a hard right turn so that you go back towards the way you came. The circular area you will enter has no guards in the middle. You will ascend some stairs. Two guards need to be dealt with. The middle of that staircase is safe, out of aggro range. At the top of the stairs swing right and fire your shot off! You will surely die. Don'y be tempted to stand on the boxes to the side of the Prophet. If he runs at you then you will be too close for the shot to be counted.
泰兰德·语风
Deal with the two guards at the entrance to Tyrande's dome. Then skirt around the wall in a clockwise direction until you see a winding staircase. Pick off a couple more guards. From there ascend the ramp and at the top turn right and continue forward, dealing with guards one by one or at most as a pair. Buff up and do whatever then when in range fire off your shot and die.
Provided you are able to deal with a couple of guards at a time, this one was by far the easiest. You will probably need to fight your way out too. With lowbies you might need to run through the pink portal from down at the harbour. Be warned that as soon as you go through the portal there will be two city guards to deal with and if you rush forward too far you'll have to deal with more at the same time.
瓦里安·乌瑞恩国王
Land in the centre of the garden adjacent to the King's throne room. Right on top of the Hyjal emissary is okay. There will be two guards just inside the King's room. They can be pulled singly. Then two more guards to the right of the doorway, likewise, pulled individually. You are now clear to enter. Fire off your shot.
If you are lucky enough to be a mage you can blink out to the garden and then go invisible. The King doesn't like to be pulled too far. There are possibilities for getting out of this alive if you can be bothered. The important thing is to pick off as many guards as possible to lessen the number of "casting" interrupts on your gun.
穆拉丁·铜须
The closeness of the NPCs in Muradin's room mean that the strategy that worked in Stormwind will not work here. The only saving grace is the area immediately to the left of the entrance to Bronzebeard's room is a nice safe staging area, albeit the occasional pat will go through there.
Due to the sheer number of NPCs attacking you, you will need some luck to get even one shot at Muradin if you are low level. I needed several myself so personally this was the hardest.

I did this along with A-Caroling this year after procrastinating on it for a while. I got pretty frustrated since I couldn't seem to get the shot off on anyone, but I slowly figured out that by spamming my rifle hotkey, I was actually interrupting my own cast. Pressing it once and waiting let me hit the target perfectly each successive time. The guards couldn't interrupt me, either-- they just gave a bit of pushback. (Presumably if they stun you your cast will interrupt of course.)

A little tip for hunters trying to get Muradin, have your pet with you and stealth into ironforge, find safe spots to re-stealth until you get near him, you will need to be almost in the middle of the room to be in range...keep pelting as much as you can, your pet will take a lot of the aggro and give you a chance to hit Muradin with your rifle :) good luck

My wife and I are attempting this. We got the King in SW, then moved on to Ironforge. Her toon is an 85 Orc hunter, and I have alternated between my 90 rogue and 85 Tauren DK to help her. I just barely managed to get credit for a shot with my Rogue (the toon I'm going for the achievement with) but neither of us have been able to get anywhere with her hunter. So far our attemps have been:
-We both rez in the staircase near the door, I stealth in, try to draw agro while she attempts to shoot. We both die instantly and she can't get a shot off.
-I stealth in first, try to draw agro while she gets a shot off from the staircase entrance. I die instantly, she next, still not enough time to target Muradin.
-We stand in the middle of the room, I rez first trying to agro, then she rez's as soon as she sees the guards move. Still no time to get a shot off.
-Tried sending her pet in to draw agro, I rez as soon as her pet agros to help tank...we all die nearly instantly.
-I tried some of these same strategies using my DK as a tank. That was a joke. I get slapped hard and die just as quickly as my rogue.
The two major issues we are having is that there is no place in the room where we can rez without drawing in multiple guards- too many for my rogue to deal with; and that there are 3 bosses to deal with, and all come running as soon as any guard is agro'd. We could deal with the guards if Muradin would hold still like the King does in SW, but no matter who we agro in the room, all 3 bosses run quick, closing the gap before she can get a shot off. My DK's chains of ice won't work on Muradin to keep him in place, and I can't get close enough with my rogue to sap him.
We have tried this at least 30 times last night and today with no luck. We are using full armor- don't care about the repair cost, we just want to live long enough to get a clean hit on Muradin.
Edit: My wife finally got him. It took a couple more tries but she just happened to get a shot off before getting killed. No help from me even- she just rezed and shot and happened to get him.
We finished the other 2 parts to this without much trouble, and we got the achievement.

For Horde Lowbies:
If your a low level who immediately aggros everything near the leader, it's impossible to solo King Varian Wyrn and Muradin Bronzebeard in less you are a Paladin and use divine shield asap while staying a good distance from them. So you can just roll a Paladin and make sure you shoot all 4 leaders so that the achievement will be account wide, but it may still take several tries. The other 2 leaders can be done without divine shield or any help as I will explain.
For Tyrande Whisperwind, pick a passive talent that boosts your speed such as Feline Swiftness or Pursuit of Justice and it will also boost the speed of your ghost while you are dead. From behind Tyrande in ghost form, jump onto the pillar in the center of the room. It's a hard jump so you may need the speed boost. Make sure your corpse it close enough to the pillar so you can resurrect on top of it. Now wait until Tyrande's Owl is as far from you as possible (if it is there) and then resurrect and immediately shoot her.
For Prophet Velen, go on 1 of the crystals behind him as ghost form, make sure there that the patrolling guards below you are far away from you, resurrect, and immediately shoot him from there. The guards around him should try to run around to to melee you instead of shoot you, and Velen should be trying to cast at you instead of trying to melee you.

As a 90 Mage on the Horde side, I found Muradin and Varian to be the easiest ones to do as long as you know where you're going. Make sure to grab your
红色骑兵气枪
and your
华丽的冬幕毛衣
before you start.
I flew straight to Muradins room and was able to shoot him and hit my invisibility in time to run out of Ironforge without dying.
For Varian, all I did was fly to the left of the entrance to his castle, into the center of the opening on the top of the garden, and straight into the doorway to do the same thing; shoot, invisibility, run out.
For Tyrande, just fly into the temple as far in to the left as you can go before you get dismounted, you'll see a spiral type ramp, go up that. Take out a few guards on your way, stand close enough to shoot her. Here, my invisibility didn't work, but I managed to run out without dying somehow.
Now Prophet Velen was the hardest for me. Or, I should say it took the longest because there's no flying in that area. Once you kill the guards at the entrance, move down the ramp/tunnel. Once I killed the guards at the end, I hit my slow fall and jumped straight down to the circle in the middle. Worked my way around that, up the middle of the vault of lights, then had to kill the Shield of Velen's who have a little more life and hit a little harder than the other guards. Not really a big deal. Directly to the right at the top of the stairs in a little alcove is Velen. Shoot him, invisibility, port. Easy peasy.
I also did

Rogues, go in invisibly. Hit distract, smoke bomb, then shoot your air rifle. Put each on a hotkey and pop one right after another. If you die the first time, it's worth running it back in, taking a good look around in ghost form, then setting up your rezz in a good spot before going for it again. I got each of the four on the second try. Good hunting!

Muradin Bronzebeard:
Use the shell then from the gates of Ironforge, fly in using the usual flight route for alliance (the holes located near the top of the walls). Once you are on top of the place where Bronzebeard is sitting (you will be right on top), dismiss pets then dive into the center of his hall while avoiding the two outer guards and land in the middle about 20 yards away from him. At this point you just use the rifle and die! (you could remove your gear before it doesn't matter!).
King Varian Wrynn:
Fly in the western side of the keep (where there is grass) and use the shell. Simply just walk between the two guards and quickly shoot the king, then of course Die!
Tyrande Whisperwind (Expect to fight about 5-6 guards):
Land on top of the temple of the moon, use the shell and head as much as deep into the temple aiming for the pathway that takes you up (you can attempt to just use the dismount delay to land more near to Tyrande but it is risky). You might aggro about 5-6 guards just stand and fight them once you are close to Tyrande. Aim and shoot then die!
Prophet Velen (Expect to fight about 10 guards):
Use the shell and
Go through the entrance that leads to the Vault of Lights (the one near the harbor). Fight your way through with the helm your aggro range will be significantly reduced. Get close to Velen, at this point you probably fought 5 guards, aim and shoot and RUN! Keep running the same way you came in till Velen resets and then just dps the remaining guards. HS and leave! This time we say to dying "NOT TODAY!"
As a mage or rogue, you can probably do all of this without dying at all.
Good Luck to all!
Edit: Changed to level 100.

Note that
any
Common or greater items in your
inventory
(not merely your equipped items; so professions tools, fishing poles, etc.) will be damaged. Items must be placed in your bank to be safe from harm. I followed a strategy a bit different from others described. My aim is to get to a position near the target but a location possibly out of agro range of the guards. Death is the expected, intended end of this endeavour. I did this with a mage — no Greater Invisibility glyph, just planning, patience and nerve — so one does the run of corpseness back to the hopefully safe spot (now the guards that you pulled have done with you they are back on stations), get your target, resurrect, use Invisibility, move into range and open up with the pea-shooter. If you get the distance to nearest mob that can kill you just right (and you will die again), your shot will succeed. Now, for King Varian, it is very likely you can do this without the dying the first time and therefore use your invisibility to escape. I simply decided on a take-your-lumps strategy, leaving my gear home in the warchest, as it were. Fun times :D Special thanks to those Alliance players who were awake on my wee realm yet realised the guards needed no assistance and therefore only did /wave.

Prophet Vellen (continued) : Now, here's the detailed procedure : keep your mount summoned and start moving down the stairs. You'll eventually see two guards patrolling there... Ideally, you'll want to wait up until they're around their comrades down the stairs, so that your "Blinding Light" will affect all of them at the same time. If you can achieve this, reaching Velen in less than two deaths becomes highly doable. Otherwise or if you're not in the mood for waiting, don't bother about timing and just rush past them, repeating the procedure previously practiced : "Blessing of Protection" - don't forget to unmount before that ; jumping forward with your mount, unmounting in mid-air and then simultaneously hitting your spell works well here -, "Blinding Light", "Divine Steed" (twice), plus all the buffs you'll be able to activate before dying... Using "Light of the Protector", in addition to "Ardent defender" and "Guardian of the Ancient Kings" will improve your survivability too. "Consecration" can slow them down a little also... But don't try to complicate things uselessly : once you've reached The Vault of Light's main chamber, you're already half way there.
5) From the local Spirit Healer, you'll need to head straight to the south, moving around The Exodar until you reach its eastern (other) main entry - otherwise, you'll waste time returning to the one by the shore. It's quite clear to see on the map... Then just move down the (weirdly assembled) stairs you find there, and make your way back to your corpse : don't worry, there aren't much NPCs (and even less players ^^) around, so resurrection should always go on smoothly...
6) Should you have crossed the first group of guards without dying and quickly enough, up until they've stopped chasing you, don't forget to heal yourself before approaching the (guarded) stairs in front of you. In any case, heal up and repeat the procedure while moving up those before you die... Don't fret ! Even by dying straight at the stairs' bottom, you'll stay be able to reach and target Vellen in your next run if you stay calm and proceed accordingly.
7) Once you've (died and) managed to return close enough to the plateform where Vellen stands, prepare your last run. It's quite easy actually... Ideally, you'll want to know exactly where he is first, because you won't be able to target him (in advance) while being dead. Otherwise, use your mouse for that : with those guards around him, there's no need to take unnecessary risks by using Blizzard's marvelous tab-targeting feature ^^. You know should have come to know the procedure by now, don't you ? Like for Tyrande, except that Vellen will never try to bash your head in close combat... So, "Accept" resurrection, "Blessing of Protection", "Red Rider Air Rifle"... and then, here's the catch : No need to stress yourself at trying to run away far or return anywhere, since we'll be using your hearthstone to return back to Orgrimmar after that. Actually, you could even try to do it while under your spell's protection, provided that you're sure about having hit your target of course, but this would require a good initial position (in order to avoid wasting time with movement) and decent coordination under fire with your spells. All in all, it's unlikely that you'll have enough ("Blessing of Protection") time for that, even if your first shot hits Vellen, so don't strive too hard at achieving this... In any case, by dying near your target, you should be able to resurrect right under that balcony he's standing on, which is fortunately out of any guard's range. So come back to life there and teleport back to Orgrimmar... Job done ! And congratulations : that was, with the method you're using, the most troublesome target. Just to imply that the remaining two are rather straightforward and less prone to Murphy's influence in comparison...
Anduin Wrynn : From Orgrimmar, we'll use the (non Led) Zeppelin localised in its central area (and easternmost tower) to reach Grom'Gol Base Camp, in Stranglethorn Vale, from which you'll be able to fly straight to the north until you've reached Stormwind, home of our third target, Anduin Wrynn. Before reaching the capital city, don't forget to land on one of the hills surrounding its outskirts, in order to don (again) your gaudy sweater and sing a little bit for the other achievement. Once you're done with this guilty pleasure (or with admiring the hidden portal and thorny encampment related to the Everbloom dungeon's final encounter), proceed straight to the Stormwind Keep on your flying mount, and more precisely to its northernmost part which contains the (uncovered) royal garden.
Now, depending on your server's population and activity, you may want to circle a bit more around the city itself, but you really shouldn't meet anyone and anything as long as you remain high enough in the sky. Beware though : there are level 110 gryphon riders around that part, so keep your eyes opened. Once more, you shouldn't have problem with them as long as you keep a high altitude until you reach that garden, but if you really suspect potential troubles there, don't take any risks and quietly circle around the capital in order to reach the keep from its northernmost side. Because dying in flight above Stormwind could potentially mean a lot of troubles and wasted time while you'd be trying to reach your corpse, resurrect out of combat enough time to summon your mount again, all this without getting shot at by the city guards on the ground - which all wield some kind of impressive 50 caliber sniping rifles... -, even through the walls sometimes. That said, should Murphy treacherously grab your throat, throw a dwarf's hammer at you or intend in piercing a hole large enough to see the sun through it in your torso, the 'Teldrassil Emergency Procedure' applies by all means : unmount before dying - yes, even in flight -, hit your "Blessing of Protection" life saving, possibly "Divine Steed" or "Blinding Light" once you've hit the ground, and try to find a place quiet enough to die there. Canals are sometimes appropriate for example... and don't forget, whatever the place, to switch on (again) the same protection as soon as you'll recover your life there.
Speaking of death, now is a time as good as any to announce the worst news about this (otherwise easy) part of our quest : the local Spirit Healer is the furthest one from the objective - surely for obvious PvP and raiding reasons. Expect far more than 5 minutes of backtracking and up to 10 - depending on your destination which, in case you've never had the pleasure of dying there, will always mean a long walk towards Stormwind's gates : don't waste time trying to reach it on foot through any other (logically closer or faster) means. So anyway, you'll really want to avoid unnecessary deaths... But once again, there shouldn't occur as long as you remain high enough in the sky during your travels here.
You've reached the keep's garden ? Good... Just descend in them like an VTOL helicopter. There aren't any guards here and at level 100, no risks either of pulling any further one's attention, but you may (once more, depending on your server) want to avoid remaining in the open for too long... Don't attack the poor coffee drinking (neutral) hippogryph Rygarius in any case ^^ ! Don't worry : everything's (surprisingly) easy starting from here and you could honestly achieve the rest without even dying once, but this would require some really good timing, coordination... and a close friendly relationship with Murphy, as your rifle won't always hit Anduin correctly upon your first try. So once again, don't try to hard organizing yourself : a single death here and all your problems will be solved. It's really down to this : 10 minutes of backtracking or the stress - some would say 'thrill' - of the challenge to avoid those. It's really your call there... The plan remains the same anyway :
1) Locate the door leading to the throne room - if you've never seen it, know that you should be able to obtain a direct line of sight on Anduin Wrynn - and then move towards it, while (obviously) remaining far enough from the guards that should also stand there. Be particularly vigilant towards those : of all those guarding our targets, they were the deadliest and were consistently able to land (heavy) 'crushing blows' (with their 'instant cast sniper rifles') on a level 100 character. So don't move on before you've completed your preparations and be quick on your key binds...
2) Proceed like for Tyrande : select your target in advance, position yourself in a straight line from the young king, ready your fingers, and only then start moving towards him (until he's in range, which means approximately a bit after the doorstep) or click on 'Accept' - if you've already died, purposefully or not. The good point with Anduin is that he won't come at you for fighting... Never... and that you're actually (still) not too far from those windows behind you, which lead to the lake around the keep. So ideally, you'd want to pop "Blessing of Protection" on, hit him with your rifle, turn around while using "Blinding Light", then activate "Divine Steed" (twice) in order to reach those openings, before jumping through them in the water below in order to reach the nearest bank. But in practice, there are so many reasons why this could go wrong that you'll probably end up dying once there. Which solves all your problems, since you'll then be able to resurrect far enough from those guards... Hitting your (by now 'usual' ^^) protection buffs could possibly (slightly) improve your survivability, especially "Ardent Defender", but don't struggle too much at it. All in all, once you've done the deed (so to speak) and managed to reach that bank, just summon your mount before riding straight to the north towards Dun Morogh, Ironforge, and our last target, "Muradin Bronzebeard". Job done !
Muradin Bronzebeard : Now, the last part of our quest is even easier (and faster) due to several reasons, but mainly :
- The local Spirit Healer is the closest one of them all. It's almost shocking ! As if Blizzard truly, deeply cared about the players attempting this kind of achievement or having to run back to their corpses for any other good reason. Backtracking from Kharanos only means around 3 minutes of running (to the north, but you can't miss Ironforge's massive gates), even when you'll (eventually) die in the throne room. Rejoice !
- There's (almost) no risk at all of being shot at before arriving on site and even so, while there are indeed level 110 gryphon riders in Ironforge - keeping your eyes peeled never hurts -, there's a fast and efficient way of reaching your target which will lower Murphy's powers to such a ridiculous value that you'll actually (almost) start feeling sorry for him ^^... Granted, there's still a small potential problem remaining : precisely because of Winter Veil's presents, which (in case you didn't know) are offered in this capital to the Alliance players, you're still prone to encounter people moving around - an event which (nowadays) would be quite unlikely otherwise ^^. But once again, the described method should allow you to reap your achievement without facing much difficulty, especially if that Winter Veil's event is drawing to its end...
- It's... well... your last target remaining, so you don't need to care much about backtracking or whatever as long as you've hit it. Now do you ? All right : for honor or out of respect for your paladin's heroic actions, you could try to return to his corpse, resurrect, cast "Blessing of Protection" and then teleport back to Orgrimmar... Actually, if you're fast (and friendly) enough (with Murphy), you could even attempt to use your hearthstone after having pelted Muradin with success, without even moving to any other place.
So here's the procedure anyway... But before moving closer to Ironforge, don't forget to stop on a nearby snowy peak in order to entone your last Christmast song : it's now over for A-Caroling We Will Go ! Be (somehow) weary though, for some level 103-107 "(Seasoned) Coldmine Explorers" still remain on a few places of that mountain, and you won't like being hit by their fireballs ^^... After that, let's get that (final) job done ! Please read carefully what follows before attempting your breakthrough...
1) Getting in... Very easy, as long as you remain high in the sky up until Ironforge's gates and then merely descend enough to pass through them. With a level 100 character, it's very likely that you'll get targeted by some guard at some point and even suffer from a shot or two, but don't worry : just keep pressing forward - there's a tunnel you'll need to go through right in front of you after that first gate - and you shouldn't risk much.
2) From now on, beware : Ironforge's main ring of building can sometimes (during the Winter Veil event) house a certain number of players and more importantly, some regular level 110 gryphon rider patrols. Fortunately, we won't leave them (and Murphy) a chance to pose any trouble, for our destination lies already ahead of us... You see the buildings in front of you after you've passed those gates ? The most important one, right next to the Christmas tree (which means slightly to your own right and in front of you), has (somehow) a universal appeal which doesn't concern only dwarves... Look at those people running in and out of it. It's the Ironforge's bank, and you'll now be heading straight at it to commit a glorious heist. Yes, that's right, don't worry : fly high up until you've reached it, and then dismount or drop altitude to pass its door. Of course, you'll also press "Blessing of Protection" immediately in order to avoid dying at the wrong moment, and possibly "Divine Steed" too, so that you'll reach the bank's counter safely within your 10 seconds of protection. Not much risk there... In the (very) unlikely event that you've 'met a favorable ground for a premature death' here, it's only a 3 minutes run to return there and position yourself more conveniently in that bank. Now, once in, just jump on those counters and pass on the other side, smiling at the dwarven employees by the way... All you have to do now is to press your ear against those cold safes in front of you, and well... just wait for some guard to finally show up and smash your head against it. That's it : you're in ! And you'll know why if you've understood the methodology taught here ^^. Behind that thick wall (now covered with your brain) lies the throne room, where stands our target... And you're now free to perfectly place yourself in front of it without any time restraint - just return there on foot, using either tunnels near that building's left or right side, and then circling around until you reach the throne room's entrance -, while the occasional curious player (who saw you enter and die in that bank) will probably question the mental sanity of Horde burglars...
3) All right, granted : there are other methods of reaching it, potentially even without dying. Actually, above the bank, both to its left and right sides, there are tunnels which would lead you to the capital's central area - beware, even more gryphon riders patrolling there -, from which you could try to reach that 'seat of power' alive... or not... and that's the point here. Why the violence ^^ ? Why the stress ? And yes, you could also dismount on top of that room, alive, target one of the dwarven leaders - just pelt "Muradin Bronzebeard" : it will be enough - and hop in, hoping somehow to get your achievement during your usual 10 seconds of invulnerability. But no, trust me, for reasons I'll explain now and while this last target shouldn't pose too much of a challenge, you'll still want to prepare yourself calmly instead of trying to rush things (and probably waste even more time in the end).
4) You see, there three important points to consider before clicking on your "Accept" resurrection button (or diving in action, should you have chosen a different approach). a) Don't even hope, at level 100 of course, to find a neutral spot in that room : the second you'll come in (or appear) is the second you'll get shot by almost ten different NPCs. Just look at around (in horror) if you want to understand the very definition of 'dwarven security'. That's no laughing matter ! In comparison, Anduin Wrynn's throne room (with its conveniently well placed uncovered garden) seems almost begging for a daring assassin (or a group of happy Horde raiding friends) to come and snuff the king out. b) Damage dealt to you there in a matter of seconds, possibly second (without the 's'), is impressive enough that you won't want to waste any time to press your "Blessing of Protection" key bind immediately after clicking on the "Accept" label. Even knowing this, you may be get surprised, so take your time and ready your fingers. c) "Muradin Bronzebeard" is certainly the less cooperative target of all the rulers you've seen until know, because he simply won't remain standing anywhere and will always run to bash your head. This means you need to place yourself at your rifle's maximum range and even so, you won't have more than two shots to go before he arrives too close for you to continue shooting - and breathing by the way. I must admit (now that I'm typing this) that I didn't even test whether or not pelting one of the two other rulers would be enough to grant the achievement... If it does, then choosing one of them could then prove useful, but remember that those rifle attempts can be interrupted anyway and how much tries it will take you to test this is up to you...
5) Understood ? Then you place yourself at the right place, choose your target, and repeat our usual sequence, hoping for that rifle to hit Muradin correctly. Then, well, as said previously, the rest is up to you... You could simply log out - job done ! -, you could try to use your hearthstone or run - with "Divine Steed" - straight up to the wall in front of you (behind those thrones) - which allows for an easier resurrection in our beloved dwarven bank... Just return there afterwards, cast "Divine Shield" and teleport yourself back. You could also opt for 'resurrection sickness' and avoid any backtracking while still allowing your poor dummy paladin to end his life back to Orgrimmar. It's your call there too... In anycase, congratulations, you've achieved full victory in (hopefully) less time and efforts than it took you to read my walkthrough ^^ !
This is my first guide on Wowhead by the way, so you'll hopefully excuse myself for any amateurism there... I know I could have included more links (for example) and even so, it actually took me longer to write those few lines than to buckle that achievement ! But I really wanted to write something anyone, in any situation, could use to obtain it in the easiest possible way. So I hope some will be useful and I can be of help to anyone, feel free to ask or comment...
Happy new year everyone ! Cheers !

Greetings !
Having recently spent a couple of hours to obtain this achievement (combined with
A-Caroling We Will Go
), I wanted to share (my experience and) a painless method - or at least 'as painless as possible' ^^ - which (really) anyone could apply. Yes, there are already lots of useful guides here (and Youtube for example), with macros, character specific tips and so on, but there are also (still) dozens of reasons why none of those will actually reduce a player's time, efforts (and frustration !) to a bare minimum.
- You don't have a max' level character ? Possibly only low level ones ?
- Yours is (truly) poorly equipped ?
- Your class isn't appropriate (in solo) for this kind of achievement ?
- You're a newcomer or just unexperienced in handling such things ? If not plainly bad at it or quite uninterested in those (mild) challenges... Don't worry : a human's value isn't based on his skills at video games ^^ and there are plenty of equally fine reasons to play them.
- You don't know people who could help you (in game) or simply are happy with solo gaming and don't search for such a help ?
- Maybe you have a family, kids - yes, we're in 2017, so some of us are getting closer to their forties than to their twenties ^^ -, a hard work or any other activity worth of your time ? Especially at that period of the year with the festivities ^^...
And there are lots of other reasons why, starting from a nice achievement - come on, the idea in itself is quite fun ! - which (really) isn't that hard and could bring people together, to make them laugh while completing it - come on, imagine a full raid combining "For the Horde" with that one ! -, one may finally come to see it as nightmare of 'corpse runs' - yes, those graveyards are far from your objectives... - and rather unpleasing (quick) deaths. Especially nowadays, if your server is low on population or on cooperation...
So I ended up writing this (hopefully) handy guide, which will guarantee you (100% !) success in a decent amount of time : count between 1 to 3 deaths per target, usually unrelated to any of the elements above (character level, equipment, personal skill, etc.), but mostly because you will be require to die at certain points in order to avoid unecessary stress or hazardous attempts. And please not that I'm absolutely not pretending anything about this strategy's quality : it surely isn't the best one, could probably be improved even more, and if you're a 'badass-pro-player-crazied-about-challenges' you probably don't need my help ^^. All I can guarantee is that this method's surely one of the most painless ones, leaving little space to randomness... Keep that in mind and trust me ^^ ! I also apologize (in advance ^^) for the length of this walkthrough : after (past) years as a guild master or at leading groups, combined with a professional background in bookshops - I do love writing ! - and various trades centered around counselling, I really enjoy explaining things ^^. So I'll detail (on purpose) below each and every step to achieve a fast, complete and easy success...
Preparations : First thing is, since one doesn't need to accomplish this kind of achievement on a specific character to earn the corresponding meta-title, we're going to use the 'trial characters' mechanism in order to create a good 'one shot' level 100 candidate, namely a paladin. This way, any player, even the most casual newcomer, can perform what I'm going to explain next. You've never played a paladin ? Don't worry : it's doesn't matter at all... All we need is a dummy with convenient invulnerable abilities, enough health to take a hit without dying - Murphy's law, Murphy's law... -, in addition of a level sufficient to avoid attracting a guard's (lethal) shot anywhere you go. He will also automatically have all the necessary 'flight points' activated and moreover, since you won't keep him afterwards, you won't have to pay his damaged equipment's bill. So go on, create a (not so mighty) paladin... You could name him "BBKing" but, for some odd reasons, this choice is forbidden by Blizzard : it contains 'mature content'... Go figure why ^^ ! Then leave the trial barge by returning to Orgrimmar (using the provided hearthstone) and before starting our 'quest', please check the following points. Most of them don't really matter - the strategy itself is more important -, but they'll contribute to increase (even slightly) your survivability and hence diminish Murphy's power on you. It's all about avoiding unnecessary deaths...
- Swith your specialisation to 'Protection'. And then check your talents : you'll want to select talents according to
this template
.
- Search in your bag for a container filled with equipment related to your new specialisation : it doesn't have much importance, but you can still don all pieces which increase your "Mastery" and "Versatility" for extra protection. We won't be fighting here, so "Haste" is irrelevant... Do keep the rest of these items on you : though one set of armor should be enough, these will come in handy is something brakes before the end of the show... That said, once more, it doesn't really matter : you could still achieve success while being completely naked ^^.
- Now, compose a single action bar (or whatever, according to your preferences) with the following abilities from your spell book : "Ardent defender", "Blessing of Freedom", "Blessing of Protection", "Blinding Light", "Divine Shield", "Divine Steed", "Flash of Light", "Guardian of the Ancient Kings", "Lay on Hands" and "Light of the Protector". "Consecration" could also be of use, but don't forget to put your (mildly) trusted "Red Rider Air Rifle" and (if you're interested in obtaining "A-Caroling We Will Go") "Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater" in convenient places too. You won't be using all of these simultaneously and it's even highly possible that you'll end up without even using some of them at all, since the strategy won't require you to fight or spam lots of things to survive. Actually, "Blessing of Protection" and "Divine Steed" are the only mandatory ones, but as said above, some tricks will help you in keeping hazardous events at bay...
- Do not forget to buy (if needed) your "Red Rider Air Rifle" from (wandering) merchant "Blax Bottlerocket" (in Orgrimmar while you're at it, usually near The Drag) and the "Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater" from "Penney Copperpinch" (same capital, near the Auction House).
- Finally, I also recommend that you keep track of the desired objectives on screen, by opening the "Achievements" panel and ticking that option under each corresponding name. This will allow you to immediately notice whether or not your shots did hit correctly your targets for example... Blizzard could have imagined a better visual clue for that, but anyway... You're now good to go !
Tyrande Winterspring : We'll be starting by "Tyrande Winterspring" (in Darnassus) and the "Prophet Velen" (in The Exodar). You're best pick will probably be a gryphon from Orgrimmar to the "Whisperwind Grove" in Felwood, which your trial character will always have access to. From there, just ride your mount the north-west, passing through Darkshore and the "Ruins of Auberdine", until you cross the sea and reach the Teldrassil world tree. Exhaustion shouldn't be a problem, but remember to remain on the lighter 'non exhausting' areas of the sea for as long as you can, before moving in a straight line to the (small) Rut'Theran Village at the foot of that world tree. Then continue flying up to the north-west and you'll eventually reach our area of interest in Teldrassil : the capital city of Darnassus, and more precisely "The Temple of the Moon", its southernmost building. Stop yourself a little before that, on a nearby hill for example, in order to put your gaudy sweater on and sing your Christmas carol. Once happily done, continue towards the temple...
Coming from the south, it's quite unlikely that you'll bump in any player or level 110 hippogryph rider, but should Murphy's Law strike you there, don't stop upon getting hit and more importantly don't die on the temple's roof : your body would remain unaccessible, forcing you to pay the resurrection sickness and durability cost at the (not so-)local Spirit Healer's place. So in that case, your best bet should be immediately dismounting on the roof, turning your "Blessing of Protection" on, popping your "Divine Steed" once or twice, and then reaching (which means usually means 'falling'...) before you die the place where we were heading anyway : the temple's entrance. Now, if you don't bump into any aggressive animal - elves or hippogryphs, whatever ! -, don't, please don't, move to the entrance itself, but land instead on the small portico's roof which is localized in front of it. You've done that ? Great ! All you have to do is to hug the temple's wall and then wait for the some 'aggressive animal' to kill you there ! Yes, that's right... You see, "Tyrande Winterspring" is standing not far from you, on the other side of this wall, and dying here will allow you to position yourself (using your ghost form) exactly where needed, without any stress or unnecessary fights. Of course, you 'could' try to get in, popping your protection abilities and so on, but why the violence ^^ ? Just have a seat, take a cigar ^^, and enjoy the lovely view up until a hippogryph rider comes around to smash your head. It won't take long, don't worry...
You're dead ? Good... Just return to your corpse from the far away Spirit Healer - 4 or 5 minutes of walking -, which will require to get around the hill localized in front of your resurrection point and then continue to the north-west... again... And keep this path in mind, for you'll probably have to take it one more time, possibly two if Murphy doesn't like you ^^. Once back to the temple, just enter it, continue straight in front of you until you reach the stairs leading to the upper terrace, and move on to our objective : Tyrande herself, conveniently placed not too far from your corpse's symbol. Even if you've never been there, you can't miss her... Now, before you accept your resurrection and try to pelt her with your air rifle, you need to understand the plan and ready yourself :
1) Select the target - this way, there's no need for macros of any kind - and move back a bit from her : for odd reasons, that rifle only functions beyond a minimum range, which means close combat is prohibited if you're expecting to get a clean shot. And for equally odd reasons, should you appear a little too close from her, Tyrande will rush in your direction and try to bash your head with her bow instead of just remaining politely where she is. So move a bit back from her, maybe not until you hit the wall but almost, and then ready your fingers on the key binds of both your "Blessing of Protection" and the "Red Rider Air Rifle".
2) Don't try to activate those spells through mouse-clicking. I have nothing against people who find it more comfortable to use their mouses than their keyboards to play at WoW, but since you won't have much time to react here - there are guards all around her, you won't have much health left upon resurrecting, and more guards will 'magically' pop up to shoot you on the very seconds you'll appear in front of their priestess... - and will already have your cursor up on the "Accept" button, you'd really better use some convenient keys here. That's an advice... Otherwise, you'll probably die a couple of times for no good reason. So make sure that you do press the "Blessing of Protection" key binds immediately after resurrecting, without even thinking about it. Three times, just in case ^^...
3) Understand that this rifle is... well... not so reliable actually, so a lot of things can happen with it : not only does it require a little time to fire - and yes, you can be interrupted during that delay - but even so, it won't always hit your target correctly or will only "Startle" them. No need to check your "Combat Log" though : if no damage is dealt, the target's name won't disappear from your "Achievements Tracker". That's one of the reasons why this achievement can really become a pain for people (already) having enough troubles to fire a single shot without dying... But by turning your "Blessing of Protection" on, you'll have ten long seconds to achieve a good result, which is more than enough to strangle Murphy by the way...
4) Now, your target (obviously) won't appreciate your 'Christmas prank', so you need to know in advance what to do next. That's important... Well, it's simple ! You just have to die there... again... Preferably against the wall behind your back in order to simplify your future resurrection from outside of the temple afterwards. After having returned back to its entrance, you'll then just have to accept your 'return in this (virtual) world' as far from the said entrance as possible, pop your "Blessing of Protection"... again ^^ (though "Divine Protection" would be enough, should the former ability's cooldown be still running)... and "Divine Steed", before rushing forward in the water surrounding the temple. If you really wish to make sure that no guard will kill you while you're at it, just press a few more keys : "Ardent defender" will keep you alive during one more shot (after your death, that is ^^), the same could be said about "Light of the Protector" (35% of your life back with one press), and "Guardian of the Ancient Kings" will mitigate (50% of) damage too. More importantly, hit your "Blinding Light" key bind for good measure... That's priority. They'll quickly stop pursuing you anyway, so don't worry... Just reach the bottom of that canal, heal yourself by using "Light of the Protector" and "Flash of Light" - or even "Lay on Hands" if you're that lazy, provided the "Forbearance" debuff is already gone -, before continuing forward until you reach the bank. Then mount on and proceed to next objective... Job done !
5) Though the aforementioned solution works well, it still puts you at a slight risk (and stress ^^) while running to (and then in) the water. If you really wish for a risk-free method regarding this part of the plan, you'll then need to make a few more efforts before that. You see, the ideal solution would be not to resurrect in front of that temple but behind it, for obvious reasons ^^... All you have to do is, after hitting Tyrande but preferably before dying - which will happen almost instantly once "Blessing of Protection" has expired ^^ -, to succeed in moving a little more towards the temple's opposite wall... Which means pressing your key binds for "Divine Steed" after hitting her - remember : you have two charges of that one - and galloping forward, straight through her, jumping and falling until your life has ended. Here too, calling "Ardent defender", "Light of the Protector" and "Guardian of the Ancient Kings" will help. If you're at ease with multiple key binds - or are a 'macro guru' -, you could add "Blessing of Freedom" (because some of their hits do slow you down sometimes) and "Consecration" (for its talented version will slow down opponents by 50%), but that's really complicating things... Just do your best to reach that wall - you'll probably die long before that ^^... - and then resurrect on the other side peacefully, without anyone around to bother you.
Should you fail at reaching a point close enough for that, you'd just have to die once more to get there - 4 or 5 more minutes of backtracking -, and such fate will also be your 'punishment' if those nasty pointed-ears creatures have somehow managed to pluck you with their arrows before you've reached the canal's bank. But hey, it still means around 20 (quite relaxed) minutes for that objective, which (all in all) still remains pretty decent. It wasn't that hard now, was it ^^ ?
Once you've returned in the air, just fly back (and down the world tree) to the south-eastern part of Teldrassil : you're going to need a boat at Rut'Theran Village in order to reach the Azuremyst Isle where is localized The Exodar (and the "Prophet Velen"). Don't try to fly directly to it : for technical reasons, it won't work. That boat leaves the western dock on a regular basis, so your best bet will be to land somewhere near it - there are, for example, rocky reefs not far from there, from which even a low level player without a mount could jump onto that boat as it passes by -, but preferably at a certain distance from it - though (especially nowadays) it's highly unlikely that you'd meet any kind of trouble there. Lastly, when you'll eventually come on-board of that boat, don't pay attention to the (supposedly) hostile guards : they shouldn't attack you, even if you were playing a low level character.
Prophet Vellen (started) : I know my explanations regarding our first objective were quite lengthy, but since what awaits you from now on mostly requires to rinse and repeat them rigorously, reading those details was not wasted time... The closer we'll get to the last target, the shorter these explanations will become. Now, concerning The Exodar ship (lying next to those docks you'll be arriving at) and our second target, follow the guide. You'll want first to stop near its closest entrance to don your gaudy sweater and sing for the A-Caroling We Will Go achievement. Afterwards and before you start moving down the stairs in front of you, here are the point you'll need to keep in mind :
1) Personal aesthetic preferences apart, The Exodar's inner architecture is quite... well... shimmering and sparkling from top to bottom, with only very little shadowing effects and quite psychedelic colours, even without mentioning its (rather) sophisticated layout of caves, rooms, stairs and ramps. Call that 'confusing' if you want : some won't see the problem, others will. So your first death here (and I'm glad to report that your dedicated Spirit Healer's a little closer this time) will allow you to freely move through it, finding your marks and planning your moves towards our target, the "Prophet Velen". Problem is, for some reasons, he often doesn't appear while you're lingering in the ghost world, so you'd still better know his location in advance. Step close enough from The Exodar to open its map and look at "The Vault of Lights" area... You see that a round chamber to its north-west ? It's actually a platform with (as you can see) three huge pillars and, to the right or north-east of the stairs leading there, a smaller protruding circular balcony marked with a specific symbol. That's where Velent stands... But since that symbol is (most probably) the only thing you'll see of Velen himself while searching for him in your ghost form - and even while being alive, he's not tall enough to clear show himself up until you've moved quite close to him -, you'll need to check your map and lookout on the ground until then. For this target, the only real problem is to reach him without spending too much time at it. It's quite easy though, so don't worry about it...
2) There aren't that much guards, not much will pop up as reinforcements during our 'operation', and all of them (including the elite "Shield of Velen" fellows) strangely won't immediately draw some kind of shooting weapon to kill you as many other guards currently do. They'll still often come fighting at close range... How utterly odd... If I was younger, more naive and (because of that) quicker to prize Blizzard for anything, I'd be tempted to congratulate the company for this nice touch of realism - which is moreover less frustrating for the average player, especially at lower levels. But well, it's actually more likely so just because they haven't been upgraded to the game's more recent standards ^^ - like those in Silvermoon City for example. Anyway, there's more than enough space between each of their groups - two of them usually - to resurrect yourself serenely and you can even (with your level 100 character) move quite close to them without taking much risks. This means, in the end, that you shouldn't die often in The Exodar, provided that you don't rush your actions and remember to look around you while moving in it...
3) Here are the general guidelines : the stairs in front of you will lead to the southwestern corner of the place. So, after moving down the ramp in front of you - two guards at its bottom, plus two more patrolling on its lower portion -, you'll need to turn left, continue straight in front of you and reach The Vault of Light's main section - which is unguarded. Then push forward towards the platform where Velen stands... The stairs leading to it are guarded though, both at their basis and summit. From there, just turn right and you'll see him, surrounded by four other guards. This should be achieved in two steps : a) One to reach The Vault of Light's main section (before dying there) and b) one to climb the stairs leading to Velen (and die there so that, on your third try, you'll be able to position yourself correctly in from of him). But you can also try, if you want, to skip a step and reach him in a quicker manner... It's quite doable this time, provided you engage your abilities in the right order. Don't burden yourself for nothing though... In any case, three deaths (so between 10 and 15 minutes of backtracking) should be your worst case scenario...

Hey, does anyone knows where to find Tyrande to shoot in BfA? It seems the Tyrande in old Darnassus doesn't count...

Any idea to where to find Anduin this year?

As of 12/16/2020, High Exarch Turalyon will NOT count as Anduin for the achievement.
You can still find the Darnassus/Exodar bosses by traveling through time in Darkshore.

Did anyone try if the one on timeless isles counts? Already got the achievement some years ago so I can't check

BB King has been hotfixed and now only requires: Muradin Bronzebeard, Tyrande Whisperwind and Prophet Velen.
I got the achievement by logging right now.

It looks like this was hotfixed to remove Anduin from the requirements since he's stuck in the maw. Happy pelting!

This can be done even if Anduin & Tyrande are lost in the Maw currently. You need to find an attackable enemy versions of these leaders to be able to pelt them.
First I sneaked into Ironforge and found Muradin there. Then realized that this "pelting" needed a toy rifle and had nothing to do with snowballs I had purchased... After a supply run I returned and hit him successfully.
Secondly I travelled to Stormwind, hoping to find Anduin as a child. Sneaked into Stormwind Keep and found just Turaylon, and thought maybe I'll find a teenager Anduin from Pandaria instead. Well, I'll get to him later.
I had flown to Darnassus for Tyrande (tarvelled through time by Zidormi in Darkshore first) when I realized my achievement didn't show Anduin as a requirement anymore. I'm sure he was on the list when I started the tour an hour ago, but now the name was missing.
To get to Velen, you need to take a portal from Darnassus docks (no ships anymore) to Exodar.
After these three I got the achievement, didn't need Anduin to complete. Might have been hotfixed or a bug or who knows.

As of 12/18/20 the achievement no longer requires Anduin.
It was not replaced with another NPC, it was just removed, if you had 3/4 completed, the achievement will pop up as completed as soon as you login.

someone having problem with tyrande in darnasus. i hit her 3 times pellet but it didnt count for the achievment

Looks like this achievement is bugged again. I hit Muradin Bronzebeard at least 3 times. Successful cast will aggro him but I's not counting for achievement.
Update:
It should be working if you do not have achievement done with other character.
Update2:
Worked after 7th attempt.

红色骑兵气枪
still gives the achieve upon purchase. And confirmed that devs restored the requirement to purchase new ammo after the 200 charges are used up.
红色骑兵气枪子弹
can be purchased at toy shops in most major cities, and both versions of Dalaran.
The
冬幕节
must be up in order to complete the
枪神
/
枪神
achievement.
NOTE: For the above achievements in order for your hit to actually be counted it has to PELT. Which is roughly a 1 in 7 chance, where the other chances are all hits for 0 damage (+ random hilarious messages) and
may not count as a solid hit.
During the event it can also drop from any version of
被窃的礼物
(2022's list not yet available if ever updated again).
MANY great tips on how to use this mostly harmless non-weapon are found in
红色骑兵气枪
's comments. =)

As of 10.0.2, this is very much doable, although there is some nuance that you should be aware of that is mentioned in all these posts but I will compile here (applicable to both Horde and Alliance):
1.) You will need the BB gun sold by the respective vendor for Horde and Alliance;
2.) The list of targets IS CORRECT, even though in the current timeline of the game they may not be the current leaders (e.g., Sylvanas is not in Undercity). To target the correct leaders for those necessary you may need to activate Zidormu in the respective zone;
3.) The BB gun can miss or hit you instead of your target, so if the achievement does not trigger just keep trying! “It’s a feature, not a bug”;
4.) You may also want to consider getting the Winter Veil Chorus Book and also doing the A-Caroling We Will Go achieve at the same time as this (requires caroling in each of the opposing faction’s major cities).

As I do with World Events... I've made an AddOn, which I uploaded to
Curse
, and it gives a ton of information about completing this World Event.
If you do care to download then I hope that you found it useful. Players unfamiliar with the layout of opposing capital cities will especially like my BB King information.

Bought the bb gun from the goblin with the christmas quests in Orgrimmar, zeppelin to Stranglethorn, flew to searing george and flew into Iron forge and died in the room of the king, at once you ress, press the bb gun (I was lvl 57 druid so not even 60 or lvl 70, and survived long enough to get the shot off). It even says "miss" on the hit, but it might do that anyway I don't know. Same with Tyrande in Darnasuss, died in that room, decided to go up behind the pillar where she is standing and ressing spamming the item. Exodar the same, Velen is down there with a lot of guards so I just ran in died infront and spammed it. Only bad thing with this is that the graveyard is so far away every time so it's quite boring and make sure you do the A-caroling we will go at the same time as this, good luck!
