For Horde players looking to "safely discover" it by swimming around the edges: don't bother. I'm fairly certain you can't discover it through that method. Just keep running ahead from Ammen Ford, dying, reviving, and hope for the best.

While in this area (Ammen Vale) I've noticed that while on the quest The Blood Elves. The neutral and attackable blood elves you need to kill greet you! As a draenei shaman I thought this was a little amusing quirk.

The MapID of Ammen Vale is 894. This is used for any WoW API function that requires a MapID.

For example, to set your current map to Ammen Vale you can type:

/run SetMapByID(894)

Easiest way to get the discovery (if you're just looking for achievement and not actually wanting to look around):

Remove all armor as the guards will give you a nice little repair bill.
I only died twice as I just wanted in to get the achievement.
Go in on a mount, as far and as fast as you can. You will most likely die.
Go find your body. Walk as far to the other side as you can (into Amman Vale) while still having the option to respawn. This gives you a fair good distance. My respawn point was literally meters from getting it uncovered. As soon as soon as you revive keep running. You won't have time to get on a mount so just run. You will probably get OHKO'd but you should only have to use this method once or twice.

Hope this helps. I thought I'd share since I spent about half an hour trying to work out how to get in.

Contrary to countless previous statements over lots of forums you CAN discover this as horde WITHOUT DYING.
The entrance is a bust for sure, but you can enter on the southeast wall. I made a video to show the giver-up'rs. (that's a word, I swear) :D

Patch 8.2.5 changed this to a 1-60 zone, so the NPCs and gear item drops now scale to level 60. Also, grey trash gear drops that used to be worth only a few copper now scale as well and can be worth a lot of silver, or even gold, especially for weapons looted by a 60+ character.

Quest reward items remain the same and, so far, do not scale to level, though once you get to Azure Watch and beyond the gear rewards will scale 1-60.
