all these guys are easy if you have the right group and know what you are doing. it is an easy 40 man raid even if you haven't been there before. you can pick it up fast and it is an easy one if that is your first 40 man raid besides bg's.

Did you know?
Destruction specced Locks can be very valuable in raids. When fighting a boss that deals AOE's, a destruction specced Lock can save time, health, mana spent for decursing, healing, etc. A destruction specced Lock usually has the range of their Immolate and Shadow Bolt spell increased. This means if you pay attention to your Lock, and stay next to or behind them, you can avoid AOE damage from the Boss you are fighting. With my UI, I can back away from the Boss until only my destruction talent enabled spells are usable. This is out of range for most AOEs the Bosses can throw. The dance can then begin, going forward to fight, and when the warning for AOE comes, your raid peeps can back up with the Lock to avoid the AOE.

Perhaps one of the most usefull tutorials for Molten Core Raiding.
How-to Loot a Corehound:
1) Target Corehound.
2) Get within Range of Corpse
3) Right-Click or Shift+Right-Click corpse.
4) Congradulations you have just made you GM or raid leader happy.
But you say "How do I know when the Corehound can be looted?"
Tips to know when it is possible to loot the corehound:
1) The corehound has stopped DPS on the raid.

MC for a Rogue:
Lucifron (DPS gear)
Very simple fight. Just DPS each marked add and then move on to the next add. Once both are dead start DPS?ing Lucifron. One thing you have to watch out for is his curse however. It will deal 2000 damage to you if not decursed. You can survive one or two, but it is best to get out of his curse range and bandage up and/or wait for a heal or two. Once you are back up, continue the DPS until Lucifron is dead.
Magmadar (FR gear)
For this boss, wait until the MT leaves 5, count ?em, 5 sunders. This is very important so as you don?t take away the MT hate. Once the 5 sunders are in place, start DPS?ing Magmadar in the rear unless you want to be fried. Every now and then Magmadar will spit hot blobs of lava at a random person. Stay far away from those. They can do a hefty amount of damage to you in a short amount of time. Now if you want you can drink a Greater FR Potion to lessen the damage. It can and will save your life. Magamdar will also use an AoE fear every now and then. Have your trinket on so that you can nullify the fear. Only use it if you know you are being feared into one of those blobs of lava that he leaves. Otherwise just let it run out. Just follow the steps and Magmadar will be down in no time!
Gehannas (A little of FR and DPS gear)
Gehannas has 2 adds here just like Lucifron. Let the OT?s get their aggro and DPS the marked add and then the unmarked add. Once both are dead start using RANGED DPS!! NO MELEE WHATSOEVER!! Gehannas has a Rain of Fire AoE that can hurt a lot if you stay in it. If you see yourself taking damage from it, MOVE OUT OF IT! Just keep up the ranged DPS until either the raid leader says move in for melee or until Gehannas is dead.
Garr (DPS gear)
A lot of adds on this fight. Each will have their own mark and there will be either a tank or warlock on each one. When the fight begins, there will be one add with a Hunter?s Mark. That will be the first target to DPS. Once the add HP is down to about 20%, the raid warning will spam that it is exploding. That is your signal to move as far as possible before it explodes. Just keep on repeating until raid leader signals to DPS Garr. Garr will not explode here. Just DPS the hell out of ?em. A special thing about Garr that makes him different from the other elementals such as himself is that he can have bleed effects on him. So when the DPS begins on Garr, start using your Rupture. Once Garr is down, DPS will be back on the adds. Just do what you did with the ones from before and all will be good. For the last one, if you want to have some extra fun you can stick around and let that one explode in your face if HP permits!!
Baron Geddon (DPS gear)
This is fun fight since you can be a living bomb! This fight is a RANGED DPS ONLY fight. I repeat RANGED DPS ONLY!! No one should be in melee range whatsoever. Before you start the RANGED DPS, let the MT get his aggro by waiting for the 5 sunders. Once the sunders are in place start shooting. Just keep the RANGED DPS on 'em thru out the fight. Sometime in the fight you may get a whisper and a warning saying that you are the bomb. When you do either run somewhere behind the raid or run into the cave. It all depends where you are at. After you get blown up bandage yourself up and get back to doing RANGED DPS. Just rinse and repeat and Baron will be done in no time.

Shazzrah
Ahhh nothing feels good than killing a disgruntled mage. No I don't mean Magflare!! (j/k Mag!!) This is another RANGED DPS fight. Shazzrah has a mean Arcane Explosion and it gets even meaner when he puts his curse on ya that makes the AE a lor worse. Like with Baron, let the MT get his aggro. Once the sunders are in place, start the shooting. Every now and then Shazzrah will teleport to a random person. When that happens, STOP ALL DPS!!! I cannot stress that enough. When he teleport, don't run around like a chicken with its head cut off. Run towards the MT if you happen to get Shazzrah's attention. Once the MT regains his aggro, continue with the RANGED DPS. Just rinse and repeat.
Golemagg (Mix of FR and DPS)
Golemagg has two lil pet doggys that he has with him. I know they may look cute and all, but they are not a rogue's problem. Golemagg is the main target. The two pooches will be tanked seperately. When the fight starts, let the MT get his aggro. Once that is done start the DPS. Every now and then when you hit Golemagg you'll get a DoT called Magma Splash. This can stack up to 20 times. It may not seem bad early on, but if you can get enough on you it can turn your good day to a bad one. If you get more than 5 on you stop your DPS and let it run out. Anymore than 10 and you are in serious doo doo. If you want you can drink a Greater FR Potion to help deal with it. When Golemagg is at about 20% health, he will start throwing a angry fit. That's when you run out of melee range and start doing RANGED DPS until he is dead. I know you are getting tired of doing RANGED DPS, but it's necessary so that you don't get killed.
Sulfuron Harbringer (DPS Gear)
Like the other Naga related bosses in MC, Sulf has his own henchmen to try and take care of his dirty work. But these adds can heal each other. In order to do this fight we have to make sure the adds don't heal each other at all. What will happen at the start of the fight is that there will be a tank on each add. One at a time the adds are going to be brought up the hill to where we can DPS it at. This is so that they cannot be within viewing range of their heals. Once the add is in position, start the DPS. If you see the add casting a spell, use Kick. This will cancel his spell and he will have to wait. Now since Kick has a CD not every rogue should kick. There should be a order at which we will kick the mob. Also try and make a macro to let the other rogues know that you are about to kick. Just repeat on the other adds and then we can DPS Sulf with no worries.
Majordomo Executus (DPS Gear)
Another Naga with henchmen. Starting to see a pattern with all these henchmen and Naga?? Anyways Domo is a straight-up wuss!!! The man has 8 adds with him, 4 elites and 4 healers. Once the adds are down Domo will submit. Just attack which ever add the ADD MT/boss/ w/e has targeted. Now if it's a healer, STUNLOCK IT!!!! I saw it with my own eyes. If we can stunlock the healers, it can help stop the damage that the tank is recieving from it. The elites are not stunable however. Just have to take them down the 'ol fashioned way. Just keep on attacking and don't still the tanks aggro. Domo will submit and then we will have his box of goodies.
I haven't fought past Domo with a rogue, so sorry for not being able to support rogues past that point.

Tanking Guide (2)
Molten Destroyer
Early on they are with the giants, then later double destroyers. Heavy melee attack. Random knockdown effect at the feet of it.
How to: Easy to tank but sometimes difficult to taunt them first. the knockdown effect is random so it can sometimes happen few seconds after being pulled to you and making you unable to taunt them right off. In this case chase it down if the hunter ran away and bring it back to infront of the raid away from the other giant/destroyer. Build aggro quick due to knockdown will pause your aggro building for a few seconds.
Rating: 3-6 (due to random knockdown)
Lava Packs
Combo of 3-4 mobs. Flamewalker,Flameguard,Lava ReaverX1-2.
Flamewalker: Heavy fire attacks and random fireballs. AoE reduce of FR (dispellable)
Flameguard: Heavy fire attacks. AoE reduce of Armor. (not dispellable)
Lava Reaver: Medium melee based attack, also has cleave. Pyroclasm fireballs at random that stun and do heavy fire damage(resistable)
How to: The Flamewalker and Flameguard should be seperated, the reavers will be banished until both flame guys are dead. 1-2 tanks should stay back out of FR gear in their Tanking gear for the Lava Reavers.
Flamewalker: 200+ FR needed to tank these, tank it away from raid facing away. keep it on you at all times this is killed first.
Flameguard: 200+ FR needed to tank these, tank it away from raid facing away. this is killed second.
Lava Reaver: Tanking gear needed. the specified warriors that have tanking gear should stand near these while they are banished so they can taunt when they break banish so they dont own all the clothys and Knitemare. Tank the away from raid due to cleave effect. If no warrior has tanking gear on......god speed.
Rating: 5
Bosses!
Lucifron
First boss in MC. AoE curse, Medium melee attack. Has 2 adds that can mind control at random.
How to: Requires 4 tanks here. The 2 adds will be pulled to the back of the raid and tanked and taken down 1 at a time. Lucifron will be pulled and tanked in front of the raid. ALL WARRIORS WILL USE AOE FEAR WHEN ITS UP!
Lucifron: MT will attempt to taunt him, sometimes the MT gets mond controled at the begining of the fight...the decided OT that will back up the MT will taunt Lucifron until the MT is dispelled and able to pick Lucifron back up. Once the MT has Lucifron the OT will get away from Lucifron and help take down adds.
Lucifron's adds: Tank these as best as you can due to random Mind controls done to you sometimes. Once dead dps Lucifron.
Rating: 5
Magmadar
Second boss in MC. Medium melee attack. Frontal fire breath. Frenzy. AoE fear.
How to: The MT will tank Magmadar in one spot and never move. A warrior will face pull/bow Magmadar and run him to the MT. The MT should stand in zerker stance while Magmadar is being pulled. 5 seconds after Magmadar has been pulled...while hes running to the MT, the MT needs to hit Berserker Rage as to not get feared. and switch to defensive stance and begin tanking him. Every 30 seconds Magmadar will AoE fear...when the CT Raid says incoming fear 5 seconds! MT needs to switch into zerker stance wait 2 seconds and hit Berserker rage and then switch back to Defensive stance. Repeat this process until Magmadar is dead. The MT needs to wear a mix of FR and tanking gear.
Rating: 8
Gehannas
Third boss in MC. Medium melee attack. Rain of Fire spell. AoE curse. Random Shadowbolts. Has 2 adds with a stun effect.
How to: The MT will tank Gehnnas in front of the raid and will stand there the whole time. 4 OTs will stand to the left of where Gehannas stands. The first 2 OTs will tank the 2 adds, when they are stuned they will run away..the 2 secondary OTs will taunt the adds and bring them back to the first OTs and repeat as needed. The secondary OTs should stand a fair distance away from the adds to not get hit with the stun. Once adds dead dps Gehannas, move out of the Rain of Fire!

Tanking Guide (3)
Garr
Fourth boss in MC. Medium - Heavy melee attack. Dispells buffs. Magma shackles( slows movement speed by ALOT!) Has 8 mini garr adds. Most of the adds will be banished, remaining adds will be tanked and killed.
How to: All the tanking warriors will run in at the same time and taunt there specifed adds along with the MT grabbing Garr. The MT will back Garr up towards the smokestakes near where he stands and remain there until Garr is dead. The Firesworn adds will be tanked spread out, when yours is being dpsed it is IMPORTANT that you back the add away from the raid up to the wall...when it dies it does a AOE knockback that does damage and you will take fall damage. Once Garr dies the adds will be killed off one at a time.
Rating: 2
Baron Geddon
5th boss in MC. Heavy Fire based attacks. Inferno attack the pulses with increasing fire damage. Mana Burn. Living Bomb spell.
How to: 250+ Fr is needed here for MT. The MT will tank Baron infront of the raid between the Caster and Melee groups. When Baron does his Infero attack(you cant miss it) the MT needs to run out of it and towards the caster group. After 9 pulses of Inferno Baron will move again towards the MT(if not MT TAUNT HIM!) Bring Baron back to the position and continue tanking him, repeat when needed. When and if the MT becomes the bomb, The MT needs to run over to the blow up spot( up the wall to your left) and blow up, baron will of course follow you. if he begins to Inferno when you run up the wall move around the side of the wall until out of the inferno. The Inferno does MASSIVE FIRE DAMAGE! 500 first pulse...5000 on the last pulse. At 1-2% Baron will prepare to do a AOE fire attack.... it is resistable to a degree but be carefull.
Rating: 7
Shazzrah
6th boss in MC. Medium melee attack. Arcane Explosion. Teleport. Self buff, Target debuff.
How to: For this boss you will stand in the middle of the raid in a giant circle around you. Shazzrah will be pulled to you. When Shazzrah teleports to a random person in the raid, that person will run towards you so that you can taunt it back. You should turn around and find where Shazzrah is and run towards the person running towards you so that you can taunt Shazzrah back early and possibly save the person running towards you. Repeat as needed.
Rating: 5
Sulfuron Harbringer
7th boss in MC. Medium-Heavy melee attack. 4 Healer adds. Demo shout. Flame Spear. Stun. Inspire(enrage)
Flamewalker Healers: Heal. Shadow Word Pain. Immolate. Dark Strike(extra shadow damage)
How to: Sulfuron will be tanked infront if where he is standing, 3 of the healers will be tanked at the bottom as well, 1 healer will be draged up at a time to reduce healing and destroyed. The MT will pull Sulfuron to himself and the 3 healers will be picked up by the OTs, 1 OT will stand up the hill and a hunter will pull one of the healers up to him. If you have Mortal Strike USE IT! The one up the hill will be destroyed and then one of the OTs will be called out, if its you turn around and run your healer up the hill and it will be destroyed. The last healer will be killed at the bottom. The MT will hold sulfuron where he stands, as MT you have to watch for when Sulfuron gets bigger, he will attack harder and faster for 10 secs this happens at random, when this happens spam Shield Block like mad. If Sulfuron knocks the MT on his feet the MT must engage Sulfuron in melee after he runs away and starts spearing you.

If you're 70 and you never had the chance to run Molten Core (though unlikely, unless you didn't get to spend much time at 60) don't think that you won't be able to get in there.
While finishing a guild-mate's Thunderfury, and looking for another EoS drop or two (can never hurt, ehh) we regularly trekked up to (and including) Golemagg with as little as eight players, and then brought in a couple more for Executus and Ragnaros.
Even as players who farmed the instance to death at 60, it can still be entertaining to go back with little more than a party and accomplish what took 20-40 in the same amount of time at 60 - and who knows, you might just pick up some lucky Bindings or an EoS for your trouble.

Just ran this today with 18 70s and 2 60s. Had a couple of wipes and did fine. People in the group is loving the gear cause they think they look cool and use it for RP. Word of Advise make sure you have priests to dispell and when fighting Baron make sure you got healers paying attention to the rest of the group.

me and my 4 level 70' friends were able to clear Ragnaros. all we needed was fire res pots. and alot of them... we needed around 200 fire res pots. theirs also a way to go str8 to Ragnaros at the entrance without fighting any mobs. when u enter. theri is a cliff . fall of the cliff at the entance and land in the lava. follow the direction of lava. it will swirl all around the instance and end up at Raggy. really helpful to those who wanna go for raggy only.

We just ran this place last night with eight/nine people (our rogue left). It was a blast, considering almost all of us had raided MC way too much back in pre-BC. No wipes on bosses, but, let me tell you, when you've got 80 Lava Spawns running around, and with the healers all silenced, you'll have problems. :P
No Bindings. :(

this dungeon is very easy now.. T4 feral druid dps specced was able to solo the rock elementals, core hounds, and could solo a molten giant if they were single pulls.. havent tried a fire lord yet, but am going to give it a shot. no fire resistance, just mark of the wild, thorns, and +20 stam food buff.
Also, the molten giants/fire lords no longer see through stealth. The corehounds do though.

The damned second piece of bindings never dropped for us and we never saw a drop of the eye... So getting DK to 80 and gona clean all place solo ))

As you can understand this is just insane if you wanna hit exalted, since after you hit Revered you will just get Reputation from Bosses only.
A whole Molten Core run should award you with 200 reputation

Next patch (3.0.8) you won't need any Aqual Quintessence or Eternal Quintessence to summon Executus and Ragnaros.
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=100501234&pageNo=2&sid=1#25
You will also in 3.0.8, get the same amount of rep per mob no matter which level you are.

As of World of Warcraft Client Patch 3.0.8 released on Tuesday, January 20 2009...
"Reputation rewarded for killing mobs will no longer automatically deprecate. This means trivial mobs will continue to give out their full amounts of reputation on kill for the majority of cases in the game (level 70 creatures in Stratholme, for example, will continue to award the full amount of rep to level 80 players seeking to boost their Argent Dawn faction)."
This means you will get full reputation regardless of your level and regardless that the mob is gray or not.

Still requires that you kill all the bosses in MC before killing Rags and Majordomo.
When you kill the boss associated with the rune, it douses itself.

This was fun. I never had the chance to run Molten Core before, even though I've been playing since open beta (I've had a love/hate relationship with WoW). Did this with 4 level 80's. Paladin tank, Death Knight and Fire-spec Mage (casting Frostfire) and a Discipline Priest. We were wearing mostly level 80 heroic blues and purples but nothing special and no fire-resist gear, just paladin aura. Took 2.5 hours (lack of DPS) but was otherwise easy and uneventful. Highly recommended for those that, like me, always wanted to run MC but never had the chance. Also a good way to earn reputation with the Hydraxian Waterlords if that is your thing.

I am trying to get the Classic Raider Achievement - Im not really interested in any quest there may be, just an achievement junkie.
I just did Onxyia's Lair last night and moving down the list it's time for Molten Core!
Before I attempt it (and while the server is down) I figure I would stop in here and see what I need to get into the instance if anything. I spent about 2 days running around Dire Maul and then Desolace because I thought I needed to be attuned for Onyxia and needed the Drakefire Amulet as a key - both of which I didn't need! Just needed to be in a raid group!
If I could skip that wasted time for my future Raid Achievements then woot to me!
Also - If anyone has the Coordinates for the entrance that would be super sweet... If not maybe a little more detail about where it is located.
Thanks for any help!
DoC
-- edit-- if your not hip to the groove like me (right) then its my pleasure to inform you that there's no need to be attuned to MC. all that is required is that you are in a raid group. HOWEVER - being that the entrance to MC is located basically at the end of BRD dungeon, being attuned will save you A LOT of time and trouble. when someone dies in MC, if they are not attuned they will need to run thru BRD to get back into MC - possibly facing respawns or patrols.
ok so MC req level 50 to get in but getting the quest for attunement requires 55 and BRD, just for the record req 45

I'm not sure if this has been said, I didn't read all the comments,
butt...
Today one of my guildies and my hunter went to do MC to get my hunter one of the pets, after getting lost several times and with a little help from wowhead we finally reached the core fragment, as you can imagine, we basically cried when we realized we had to do the whole thing over again to hand the quest in.
So I suggested just trying to get into MC, we converted it to a raid group and voila! we were in, I'm not sure if that was added in any recent patches, or maybe in WotLK, or maybe it was because we had the core fragment in our inventory, but I'm fairly sure the only need for the quest is to save you a lot of time getting to the entrance of MC.
(P.s please don't downgrade me if I'm wrong, I'm just sharing my experience, hell this could even just be a bug...)

For anyone interested in running this for the achievement or farming old boe epics or trying to get the twink enchants. The droprates for the enchants certainly were improved as stated in the patch.
All of the trash is soloable at 80 with decent gear. Every boss in the zone can be 2 manned, many can be soloed.
Respawn info: The roaming ancient core hounds and lava surgers will respawn very quickly. The fire imps to the left of the zoneline will respawn even more quickly. Everything else in the zone respawns after a few hours, and the giants take the longest to respawn (they were back the next morning, but long after everything else - possibly only after a soft reset).
The packs of core hounds that reignite are a disaster if you don't dps them evenly. They aren't a threat otherwise so take the time to tab through them and make sure that (un?)lucky crits haven't offset one from the rest. Shazzrah is probably the easiest boss in the zone. Baron Geddis is much easier if you pull him underneath the tunnel leading into his area, where the ceiling will greatly limit your fall damage, if you have a mana bar, stay oom and wand, and use your mana as soon as it appears, and you won't take nearly as much damage from his mana burn, offsetting your need to heal to compensate for the lack of mana. Of course, if you can dispel magic, this doesn't apply.
For druids specifically: Shift into cat or use bear charge to escape the fall damage from the various bosses that will cause you to launch into the air. Everything in the zone is vulnerable to infected wounds. Taking the time to mangle/maul whichever one of Golemagg's hounds wasn't being hit by the glyph of maul made the fight much easier. Demoralizing roar scales ridiculously well in this zone, due to the low base attack power of many of the mobs.
As scary as Ragnaros is, with his 1 million hit points, if you can charge out of the fling, you'll be fine, the only real damage taken was on the fire elemental adds, which spawn spaced out enough that you will have barkskin/survival instincts/frenzied regeneration up every wave.
Majordomo looks intimidating but the only damage comes from the fire you're stuck standing in.

The entire zone is soloable by a prot paladin. All the bosses are pretty unnoteable, they just take forever - the exception is Gehennas, who will kick your ass something fierce. Put up shadow resist, burn the adds down as fast as possible, and make sure you bubble out of the curse and heal yourself here and there. The other pain in the ass is Ragnaros, but that's just because you don't end up getting a lot of DPS time before he submerges, so it takes like 30 min to kill him.

2 manned with me (an elemental shaman) and a holy paladin. Took about 2 hours (died a lot because we weren't sure how to go about doing certain parts). The holy pally tanked everything, healing himself a lot, and I just sat there doing damage. It was actually very easy. I think we could probably do the entire thing in an hour if we reallly tried.
Rag was easy, I just healed the pally when he needed it and other than that spammed lightning bolt. Took about 10 minutes.

I killed all but Magmadar, Majordomo and raggy in 2h this night and I'm going to finish it tomorrow. Playing a prot paladin with 220 fire res (a flask and aura). All the bosses are very easy. Some of them hit hard, but on those bosses I just kept BoL, SoL and sacred shield up to keep my life. No need to heal. Ghennas has been the hardest so far, because I don't get healed too much from my seal and judgement, I was stuck at 35% hp all the fight, because of the ardent defender. If my hp was at or below 35%, I took a lot less dmg, and if I got healed over the 35% mark, I'd get hit just that much harder that my hp dropped soon back to that 35%.
Btw... Don't pull 2 sets of core hounds before Magmadar. They give a nice challenge to bring down at 1 group at a time, but with 2 groups, you have 10 core hounds, and that's really, really hard. I finished my day to that fail and Bubble/HSed out of there.

All trash and bosses in Molten Core are soloable (by a protection Paladin at least) as of 3.1/3.2) without any special resist gear.

Okay, so there's a boss called
Lucifron
, which sounds a bit like
Lucifer
, then there's this
boss
, which has 666k health, and as you can see from this
picture
, they have these horns and stuff + Molten Core is a really hot place with lava and fire... So what place is this, HELL?

I'm trying to solo MC but I can't figure out how to kill the 2 giants at the entrance. I'm a demonology specced warlock. When I try to kill the 2 giants the giants lose all aggro when they knock my pet back. This makes it impossible to heal my pet without eventually getting aggro. Anyone have any tips?

Just finished soloing it as a feral druid (woohoo! Take that pallies!).
A few basic tips to those cats/bears interested in soloing this place, take your spellpower gear along. A lot of these bosses require some form of healing outside of what Leader of the Pack brings you. Do remember to barkskin before attempting any healing... Golemagg, Gehennas, Gedon (a lotta G's) and the Sulfuron Harbringer are downright impossible without heals.
Will be posting a few tips for the tougher bosses...

2 manned it the other day with a ret and holy paladin. only boss that gave us a bit of a problem was golemagg. for the core hound mobs just kept ret aura and both used consecrate to burn them all down.

3-manned it today at level 80 with a prot warrior in emblem of conquest gear, survival hunter in T8/T9 (with ferocity pet), and boomkin in heroic 5-man gear. We briefly had a ret paladin as well, but he had to leave after Geddon. We only had one wipe, on Sulfuron Harbinger, due to overconfidence: we thought we could burn through the priests, but that just made us go OOM before they did.
So yes, MC can be done without heal-specced healer. (On a few of the fights, Golemagg in particular, the boomkin stayed in caster form to keep up HoTs on the tank.)
Edited for clarity.

Ok question - and probably a stupid one - but is there a way to create a raid with just say 2 people, so I can go solo in places like MC or ZG? I am about a 95% soloist and I am trying to work on various reps for achievements. It seems to me to be a bit unfair to make achievements for places like ZG or MC or what have you where really no one goes anymore (at least not on my server), and then make the places raid-only.
Any ideas?
thx in advance!

The lava in this zone is intended as a natural barrier. If you stack fire resistance and can heal yourself though, you can move through it relatively freely for long periods. Be careful doing this though, since the map wasn't designed for it, and straying too far to the edges (generally you can tell when you get there) might result in falling through the world to your death.

Was ALOT easyer then I thought it'd be after a very well failed BWL run the other day with 3 people.
Hardest boss would of been Baron, due to the living bomb crap.

Solo clear as a Ret paladin. 5428 gear score (ToC/ICC 10-25 gear), 2 piece tier 10. No tank gear to speak of.
I was (and still am) looking to get my Hydraxian Waterlords reputation to Exalted. After little luck in finding a healer to duo the place, I decided to try and go it alone.
A summary of my struggles:
- Wiped once on Lucifron (accidentally pulled first pack of dogs along with her - good times)
- Wiped twice on Gehennas (downed after I decided to ignore the guards and just focus DPS on the boss - Divine Storm/Seal of Command will kill them eventually anyway)
- Wiped three times on Golemagg (hits like a truck, used a SoL/JoL combo to help keep HP up after SoV/JoL wasn't working)
I also left the instance between Majordomo Executus and Ragnaros to repair, fearing that Ragnaros would melt my weapon and I'd spend a good portion of the fight punching him as I had no backup weapon on me. For reference, my weapon was at 96/120 when Ragnaros dropped. So unless your durability is incredibly low you probably won't need to leave as I did.
Entered the instance at 1:02 AM, was done at 3:27.
Lucifron dead 1:17
Magmadar dead 1:24
Gehennas dead 1:45
Garr dead 1:54
Geddon dead 2:01
Shazzrah dead 2:03
Sulfuron Harbinger dead 2:17
Golemagg dead 2:54
Majordomo Executus dead 3:03
Ragnaros dead 3:27
So, just under 2 1/2 hours. And it can certainly be cleared in under 2 hours with no wipes.
I'd recommend reading up on the bosses before you go, especially if you've never done MC. I've been playing this game since MC was relevant, but even I needed a short refresher for some of the bosses. It's always good to know what to expect.
It was quite a bit of fun to do. I know only certain classes can manage a solo run of MC, but if you happen to be one of them it's worth doing once. The bosses drop a fair bit of money, too -- Ragnaros dropped 120 gold, for example. Not that I'd recommend an MC clear as your main source of income, but it's a nice bonus to killing the bosses.

I've heard rumors, but haven't seen any posts on the subject, that Molten Core will no longer be available in Cataclysm thus blocking future players from earning Hydraxian rep, getting Sulfuras and Thunderfury, and just enjoying the zone in general. Can anyone confirm or deny this, preferably with a link?

I am currently running through MC in a dual boxing format. Protection Paladin and Holy Priest.
Surprisingly enough, the trash are more trouble than the actual bosses themselves.
评论来自
mouseno4
Tips for dual boxers attempting this.
Boss 1 - Lucifron - Clear a path to him, tank and spank. Renew or seal of light will be fine.
Boss 2 - Magmadar - Clear the fire imps prior to his room, and the 2 packs on the right as you look past the dogs to the boss. Sit your healer back at the start of this room just after the fire imps. Tag the boss with your tank and run the wall avoiding all the packs - use fear ward, pally shield, EMFH anything to wipe the fear for one time. Tank and spank, he fears and drops fire on the ground. Fire is negligible damage and fear is just a pain.
Boss 3 - Gehennas - If you can cure curses you are fine to tank and spank. If not, put any form of healing on you, be it priest shields, frenzy regen, seal of light, even warrior's regen. His curse kills practically all healing.
Boss 4 - Garr - Pfft tank and spank, pull boss, auto attack, go have a smoke and come back.
Boss 5 - Shazzrah - Put healer at max range. Tank with boss' back up against wall. Tank and spank.
Boss 6 - Baron Geddon - Pull boss back into Garr's area and run up the wall a bit. Fair bit of healing needed on all members. Fire resist is a plus. Long fight.
Boss 7 - Golemag - Has a dot that stacks to 50. With a healer in tow, its easy til the last 10%. The damage gets a bit intense but nothing like the ICC 5 mans, that are current as i write this.
Boss 8 - Sulfuron Harbinger - Pfft tank and spank. Mana burn the adds if possible, otherwise just auto attack til adds oom. Then aoe the adds and then finally the boss.
Boss 9 - Majordomo Executus - Relatively easy, but pain in the butt fight. Ignore the boss completely, and kill the adds. There are a lot of adds, but a solid 10 mins should kill em all. Try to keep from healing your tank with your alt as best you can. He seems to threat reset. Also when your teleported to the fire pit, get out. Simple fight.

Molten Core will
not
be removed in Cataclysm! In an interview on Gameplanet, Blizzard's Cory Stockton (Lead Content Designer for World of Warcraft) has told that Molten Core will still be a level 60, 40-man raid in Cataclysm:
Gameplanet:
Ragnaros is back and he’s moved from the Molten Core to Mount Hyjal. What other plans are there to revisit the raids of “vanilla” World of Warcraft?
Stockton:
One of our new raids is called Blackwing Descent and that takes place inside of Blackrock Mountain. It’s very derivative of Blackwing Lair – the bosses and creatures you see in there, there’s a chance some of those might be things you’ve actually seen in Blackwing Lair, so that’s a very nostalgia-driven raid.
For the old raids themselves, you’ll see guild achievements added for them. Take the raid meta achievement that we have now, we’ll have a new achievement that is a ‘Classic Raid’ achievement – but it’s a guild achievement and that’ll have a very specific reward attached to it, so even if you’ve completed it in the past, you may want to go back with your guild to get the reward.
Gameplanet:
And those raids will still be tuned to their traditional levels?
Stockton:
Exactly, so Molten Core will still be a level 60, 40-man raid – we’re not going to change that, even though you could probably do it with ten!

Soloed Gehennas, Shazzrah, and Baron as cat dps. All other bosses as bear.
I don't think I dropped under 90% on any boss as bear. I could not do this pre-patch as tank or dps spec.

Would like to add that as of 4.0.1, combat rogues can easily solo this entire instance. Just use a standard raid spec (2/31/3) and put your 4 filler talent points into Imp Recuperation and Reinforced Leather. I never went below 50% on any trash or boss. Just keep the following up in order of most important to least (number of combo points doesn't matter): Recuperation, Slice and Dice, Rupture. Squeeze in a 5 point eviscerate when you have everything rolling and nothing's in danger of dropping.
I had an average item level of 264 when doing this, but it could probably be done in less gear considering how easy I steamrolled this place.

Passing up Molten Core is very much the same as not blowing out the candles of your birthday cake: You can pass if you want to, but it's traditional.
It is easily the penultimate Raid instance that makes playing WoW worth it. I would go into the very depths of Molten Core and enjoy every minute more than I would Northrend or Outland.

Solo'd on questgear 85 feral druid.
Could stay in catform for pretty much all bosses, except Golemagg, who still seems to hit pretty damn hard.
One tip for fellow feral druids:
Bearform seems to be the easiest way to start on some bosses, because Berserk & Mangle aoe spam takes out most adds very quickly. This makes fights such as Sulfuron & Majordomo much easier, but is also useful on Lucifron, Gehennas and Garr.
Easy gold, quite good fun and chance for Legendaries. Have fun!

Just soloed this as a lvl 85 Demonology Warlock with average item level of 336. Used my Felguard through the entire instance with a combination of hellfire and felstorm for bigger packs or bunches of bosses. Only had a little bit of trouble from Barron Geddon, otherwise was very easy. Had to heal my pet occassionally but was fine otherwise. Took about 2.5 hours but I had a lot of breaks while doing it. Probably could power through it in about 1-1.5 hours now that I know what to do.

MC is solo-able as a fury warrior. I am an average 332 gear score with tanking gear. All i did was switch to Fury and dual wield. kept the same tanking gear on.
Most fights are straight forward. Blood thirst to keep your HP up.
I think its Golmag that is kind of a pain. his debuff stacks like 50 times and ticks fire damage. To get rid of this just attack his dogs till they go away... no worries of you kill them he will rez them.
Rag is kinda of a pita but doable. just have to intercept every time he kicks you back and avoid landing on anything if you don't. i would just mash the button when i thought he as about to do it.
No healing potions and only had to use enraged regeneration once on rag. took about 1.5 hours as i was killing trash too for rep. after selling all the drops and sending BOE items to alts i made about 400 gold or so...minus repair costs and am revered with thorium brotherhood since i vendered all my firey cores and lava cores in BRD.

Easily soloable as an 85 afflic warlock, and probably any other 85 (some obviously would need more strategy than others). VW pet the whole time. Had to be patient with pet management on Garr, and pull Baron Geddon into the tunnel. Other than that, trash pulls were actually sometimes worse than bosses, especially the groups of elementals later on. As long as VW stays in Rag's melee range he's completely cake. Very little actual strategy was needed and no consumables used, keep VW alive and blow everything up. Trash aggro radius is pathetic at 85 so a lot of them can easily be avoided to speed up the run.

The threat and defence on the pets is by far better then LK. The best I did was reg LK 5 mans. And all heroic 70's all very slowly with a 251i lvl or better gemed and enchanted for defence. Now that I can't get 20% avoidance It still takes some effort.

Easily solo'd with 85 Blood DK, il333 with Zin'Rokh sword.
Things to watch out for....
Core Hound Packs before magmadar - Any hound dead for 10 seconds will be ressurected by any hounds still living, therefore they all need to die in a 10 second window. Simplest way to deal with these as a Blood DK was to target and single attack (deahtstrike/runestrike) them one at a time down to low health (below 10%) switch targets until each one is at 10% health and then AoE finish them off (Death and Decay, Blood Boil, Heart Strike), have autoattack button on your hotbar in case you find yourself killing them accidentally whilst you tab around for a full health hound.
Gehennas - -75% healing debuff, in reality Deathstrike was still healing around 2.5k per hit with this debuff, which is enough to keep you topped up, if for some reason you are struggling just be sure to step out of the rain of fire (fireballs fromt he sky) he performs and the damage you recieve will be minimal, all in all he has a very low amount of hp (less than 400K I think) so a pretty easy boss.
Baron Geddon - Fall damage can be quite heavy, if you pull him back from the lowest point of his patrol towards the tunnel you just exited (the one that came from Garr) you can tank with your back against a wall with a low ceiling, when he knocks you into the air you will bounce off the ceiling and take a very minor amount of fall damage, easily outhealed by a single deathstrike.
Sulfuron Harbinger - Set Focus on an add and then just keep chipping away at the boss, his healing adds will eventually run out of mana and you'll succeed (the Set Focus is just to give yourself an idea when the adds are out of mana, they all run out at the same time).
Ragnaros - Fall damage is hefty, position yourself so that you will land in the lava, lava damage is around 500 per tick, ticks 3-4 times before you reach shore and Raggy, therefore 2k damage is insignificant on a 150K+ health bar with death strikes healing for 10k.
That's pretty much it tbh, the rest is straight forward.

Soloable as a Shadow Priest, average iLvl 346. And that wasn't ideal, since it was really just my Disc set worn in a Shadow spec. With the Talent that converts Spirit into Hit Rating, I didn't even need to swap a single gear piece from my healing set.
A properly-geared Spriest would have no issues, I'm thinking.
It wasn't hard, doesn't take a lot of time, and can actually be fairly profitable if you get lucky with some pattern drops.
Some general notes:
-Unless you're below Revered and are after rep, skip the trash. At 85 you can run past most of it. I typically kill the Core Hounds just because their patrol paths make them a nuisance, and occasionally a Lava Surger will blunder into my path. But the majority of the mobs can be skipped if desired, or easily dispatched if not.
-Speaking of the Ancient Core Hounds, watch out for their Ancient Hysteria debuff; A curse that reduces your Intellect and Spirit by 50%...and lasts 15 minutes. Ouch.
-Shadowfiend is as much a damage-dealer as it is a Mana regen tool. Use it! Also don't neglect Archangel and Dispersion. Less time drinking = more time looting, after all.
-Cloth classes tend to lean a little more on finesse when it comes to soloing things, but in here brute force is a better method. Shields up, pew pew.
-Unless you're an Engineer with Jeeves at your disposal, you might want to empty your bags before you come in here.
As for the bosses, generally it's the standard fair...keep your PW:Shield up, and nuke as hard as you can.
Specifics for each:
-
Lucifron
~ Kill the nearest pack of Hounds; That's the only group of the five groups you need to get out of the way. The other four can be run past en route to Magmadar. As for Luci himself...small health pool, adds can be killed with a couple of DoTs. Remember to Dispel his magic debuff. Finally ( and this is very important!) let the timer on his curse run out before you continue on...your spells costing double is not fun.
-
Magmadar
~ Larger health pool, he'll take a little longer than some bosses. Cast Fear Ward on yourself, and watch where you stand. Otherwise he's not bad at all, even when enraged he doesn't damage you enough to matter. He drops no gold, the cheapskate.
-
Gehennas
~ Small health pool and a couple of weak adds, just like Luci. His healing-reduction spell is meaningless, though the occasional stun is annoying. Just keep your Shield up and blow him away. Arguably the easiest boss in the instance.
-
Garr
~ Try and keep DoTs on him while you blow up his adds. He's not hard but it can take a little while to whittle away at so many targets. Remember to recast your buffs after the fight is over. Cross your fingers for some Bindings.
-
Baron Geddon
~ Drag him into the hallway to "the spot" where you can wedge into the bend and not suffer much fall damage during Living Bomb. Most important thing you can do is Dispel his magic debuff. You won't even need Fire Resistance gear. Hope for the Bindings.
-
Shazzrah
~ Annoying! Small health pool, laughable damage output, but he constantly Counterspells you. DoTs will kill him just fine, though it takes a little while, Consider dropping out of Shadowform for this fight; If he locks out your Shadow spells you can amuse yourself by Smiting him. ^.~
-
Golemagg
~ Big health pool (well, for a level 60 raid boss), and a fairly surprising capacity for damage output. Keep that Shield up, use your Shadowfiend and nuke your heart out. He takes a little longer than previous bosses.
-
Sulfuron
~ Biggest pain of the whole instance, right here. Harbinger himself seems content to stand back and toss spears at you. But he's flanked by 4 adds who are Priests themselves. I found the best strat was to simply Mana burn all four of them until they were ooM then take them down. This takes awhile and strains your own Mana pool...Be prepared to take a beating and run out of Mana on this fight. Dispersion and Shadowfiend are your friends.
-
Executus
~ Probably the most entertaining fight in here. Despite having twice the adds as Sulfuron, he's not as rough to fight. Concentrate on taking out the four healer adds first, then the melee adds. You'll constantly get telelported to the fire pit, which both interrupts your spells and forces you to keep moving; Keep that Shield up and throw those DoTs. This is another fight where you'll take a beating but you should have the Mana to get through just fine.
-
Ragnaros
~ Position yourself at "the spot" at range, in front of the rock wall; if you get knocked back you won't go far, and a couple of lava-hops will put you back into position. Rag's damage is no match for your Shield and VE. Try and get him down before he submerges, as his adds have a Mana burn aura. If your gear is lacking this might something you might have to worry about, considering the size of Rag's health pool.
Oh and...hope for some orange text. =)

I run MC every week as a hunter, and I can clear it in around 30 minutes. Being an engineer certainly helps here. From the start, I parachute from the first ramp into lava, once out, camouflage past the first trash, kill 1 core hound pack, kill Lucifron, camo past the rest, down Magmadar. Run back the same way and kill Gehennas, Garr, Geddon, and Shazzrah(watch out for the core hounds here, if you get the debuff for reduced attack speed, you're pretty much useless for 15 minutes).Camouflage up to Sulfuron, kill the core hound and lava surger, so they don't bother you during the fight. Run to Golemagg, kill, loot, run to Majordomo, kill, loot.Run all the way back with camo on and you should get to Rag in about 2 minutes. Kill Ragnaros, enjoy you free gold.
P.S. I don't use rocket boots due to their high failure rate, but even without them, fast and quick clear is guaranteed.

I spent so many evenings in this place back in 2005(?) that I can't say I ever want to set foot in it again. I did finish my full set of Tier 1 Might, but JHC what a grind that was...back when epics were...EPIC, not a dime a dozen like they are now.
But once a guild got this place on farm (which took quite awhile due to increased need for fire resist the deeper you went) MC became an epic loot piñata. Back in early vanilla you knew which guilds were succeeding and which weren't just by standing around your capital city. Not so much anymore. Everyone looks the same.
In a way this is true, And since your comment was in WOTLK it's much more valid cause raids were so easy and all items really did look the same, they barely even had different distinct colour changes ...
Now it's Cata, the initial raid tier is pretty difficult, especially in heroic modes. Im currently in the best Alliance guild on Saurfang (3/13 Heroic). And i sit in Stormwind with my Red 372 Heroic, Dragon Bone Warhelm, Halfus Bracers, Next week i should have the 372 chest and possibly Legs / Weapon, With a big glowing Windwalk Enchant and the rest is 359, And it's very distinct (Especially cause of the beautiful glowing Red helmet) that the guild and I are the awesome ones on the server.
Definately not as epic as if you were sitting in SW with full T1/T2 with a Thunderfury/Hand of Rag in Vanilla, but still it feels extremely good, and if you've done Cata heroic mode raids, you'd have to admit there very difficult. I just wish I could go back in time, I hate to death that the game was released when I was only 13 and even though i've been playing since early 2005 at the age of 13. I was just such a noob and didn't understand the game properly, and hence missed out on alot of actual playing and raiding. But oh well :( Now i get that opportunity to feel like one of real players and it's awesome :)

Feral (tank) Druid: soloed Molten Core yesterday and failed against Ragnaros 3 times before quitting for the evening. I believe my problem was positioning. I attempted to fight him so that I was thrown into the lava, but occasionally took damage from the fall regardless. The next day I decided to try again. I positioned myself in the "spot." I was thrown back onto an elevated area of stone. Additionally, I changed form from bear to cat in the air when thrown back so that I took no damage in the fall. This was a successful strategy (after watching youtube). Very easy fight. Good luck on getting the loot you are seeking!

Normal difficulty is not available for Molten Core.
I do have the Cata expensive plus I've tried to set Raid Difficulty to 10 player, 25 player, 10 players heroic and 25 players heroic (the only options there is)
Also I have done the attuned quest.
What am I doing wrong here? I can't get into Molten Core! :(

I am a lvl 85 Human Prot pally. I soloed it. My problem is I went to the magma looking dog. And the core hounds b4 him wouldn't die. I couldn't get them to leave me alone.....I was able to kill the dog and hold the core hounds off until I beat him. I spent the next 20 min just killing them trying to figure out how to get them to stay dead. Help anyone?

I found MC a very easy solo for a 359 geared frost mage. It should be doable by any 85 mage in reasonable gear. The basic strategy for each fight is to blow all of your cooldowns and kill the bosses before they kill your mirror images while keeping up ice barrier, frost armor and mage ward to absorb damage.
Some notes for each encounter:
Lucifron - Nuke. The mind control will always be resisted. Remove his curse during or after the fight depending on your gear.
Core Hound packs - Aggro and blizzard down. Since there's an AoE damage cap, I would not recommend that you pull all of them at once as they very nearly killed me before I killed them.
Magmadar - Nuke. Trinketing or ice blocking the fear(s) could shave a few seconds off the kill.
Gehennas - Nuke.
Garr - Use your pet's freeze and let it tank the adds while you nuke boss. Invis when boss is dead to save some time killing adds.
Geddon - Kite back to the doorway you entered from to eliminate most of the fall damage and increase the time you can dps before your images expire. Ice block after the fight to remove the debuff.
Shazzrah - Nuke. Spellsteal his buff if you want; decurse yourself after the fight.
Golemagg - Send your pet in first and use freeze when they clump together to let him tank the adds while you pop images and kill the boss. He does a surprising amount of damage to you if you tank all 3 mobs and they burn through your images.
Sulfuron - Kill adds one by one. You can't interrupt all their heals, but they die in a few FoF ice lance crits or a good deep freeze crit.
Executus - This fight has the most potential to kill you; you should save time warp for this one. The adds can't be burned down with deep freeze, though they can be stunned with it. Let your pet tank as many of them as possible and burn them one by one. Don't kill yourself with spell reflect. You can start the fight by sheeping one of the healers if you wanted to.
Ragnaros - Stand back and nuke him. Use slowfall or blink if you get knocked in the air. If you kill him fast enough he won't submerge, saving you some time.

ahhh molten core...the place of one of my favorite memories.....
there are 3 entrances to molten core
1. the guy he will port you if your attuned
2. through the instance no attunement needed
3. the window right next to the guy who ports you
i was bored so i was going to see if i could jump out of the window next to the guy and i got ported into molten core. i got excited told my friend about it and he tried but he forgot he wasn't attuned and he just jumped through and fell into the lava and barely made it out before he died :P
ahhh good times :)

how do i get in there in the first place?
i've never been in BRD or MC, and i want to solo MC
first question: what are the coords/how do i find the attunement quest giver?
Second question: do i really have to walk (blimp to gromgol and then flying mount) to MC every time i want to do it? i read something confusing about the attunement guy teleporting u there, but do i then have to reach him on my own?

Soloed as a Rogue (Level 85, Engineer,
Combat specced
. Most of my gear was Heroics. Equipped Darkmoon Card: Twisting Nether... ended up not needing it, didn't die at all :D) Didn't know any of the fights going in. Keep
Recuperate
up as much as you can.
Corehound Packs
(the self-rezzing ones): Popped Blade Flurry, Killing Spree, and Adrenaline Rush for these.
Lucifron
: Nothing difficult, try not to aggro a corehound pack like I did.
Magmadar
: Nuke the crap out of him. Melt his face. If you managed to kill the corehound packs, he's cake.
Gehennas
: Didn't notice he was a boss until he was dead. I cloak'd out of the debuff.
Garr
: Nuke him, use Blade Flurry to kill his adds.
Geddon
: I just killed him in the big flat area near Shazzrah.
Shazzrah
: Pulled him along with one of the Corehounds. Cake, he does piddly damage and has meager health.
Golemagg
: Oh boy, I really had to try for him. I popped Cloak early to dispel the debuff, but almost died late in the fight (Survived with 12 whole hit points!) Burn him down as fast as possible, don't use Blade Flurry, just focus on him. Burn every cooldown you have, he HAS to die before you do.
Sulfuron Harbinger
: Cake, just nuke his healers down first. Then turn him into an orange stain.
Executus
: I used Killing Spree, kept Blade Flurry up the whole time. Just move away when he teleports you.
Ragnaros
: Nothing too difficult, DO NOT use Killing Spree then forget what side of him you're on. you want to be closest to a rock ledge, so when he knocks you back, you stay out of lava because you slide down the ledge. Had him down to 200k by the time he submerged. Add phase is actually harder than Ragnaros himself, I lost 40k HP during the add phase, recup was healing off Ragnaros' damage.
Other notes
: Engineers, bring scrapbots! They really help for when you've been in combat for so long that your offhand starts to break.
To the victor, go the spoils

Solo'ed all of the bosses in this raid as an Elemental Shaman in Restoration gear because I dont have any Elemental gear lol.
Hardest: Barron Greddon
Easiest: Pretty much all of the other ones. I had them dead in no more than 2 minutes, and on most of them I didn't even need to heal myself. This place is a very easy place to solo as an Elemental Shaman and I bet Enhancement could do just as well.
For Barron Geddon, you have to kite him to a safe spot where you don't get knocked to far high. About halfway through his health, I started to die so I took out my Earth and Fire elementals, healed the Earth and let the Fire do the dps. Also, he runs around fast as hell, so be sure not to get caught unprepared for him. I killed him in that little hallway between Barron and Garr. I killed Ragnaros before he submerged.
For the Corehound packs near Magmadar and Lucifron, kill them one by one and be ready to attack again if they self rez.
If you get one of those 15 minute debuffs from random mobs/bosses in here, you will have to put up with it until you can switch to Restoration to dispel it. They are Magic, which Restoration can remove if you have the talent.
Most of the other bosses where just easy as killing random stuff for quests such as the creatures we kill in Molten Front today. Core hounds are hard to avoid so I killed most of them. They are immune to Hex, but the elementals are not immune to Bind Elemental, so I abused that spell to get around trash. I killed the least amount of trash I could. At level 85, you can simply walk past them (except Core Hounds) and not aggro them. Make sure you kill the Core Hounds far away as possible from other trash, including the elementals because if they see you're killing something, they will join in attempting to kill you.
Overall, it was a great way to kill couple hours and got about 600g and some sweet looking RP gear. Only got 1 Shaman tier piece though :(
P.S. As if it is not obvious enough, you need some healing spells on your action bar! You will abuse them!

Great way to make money if you are positive you are able to make it through here solo with no problems.
After running this easily on my 85 warrior, I made over 600g (with deduction of my repair bill), and for those grinding Hydraxian rep, I made a little over 2k rep and I skipped as much trash as possible.
The run took me roughly 45-50 minutes, and is always a great blast from the past!
EDIT: To have a small update, the hardest boss in this raid was definitely Baron Geddon.
I dps'd him down pretty quickly although he still hits very hard even on plate. I didn't bother to kite him as I didn't kill any trash in the whole of the room. After he died I quickly sat down to eat as I had "Living Bomb" on me. Eventually it threw me up into the air and I landed with 100hp left, this was the closest I came to dying the whole raid. Was definitely a fun experience and I plan on doing it again when it resets.

Pretty easy way to enter Molten Core WITHOUT entering Blackrock Depths:
If you run down the chain you see ofc the high elf. Next to him is a window where you can look through. With a fly mount is the easiest way, just simply fly in to the window. If you are still using a ground mount, stand at the in side of the small room and "jump" out of the window.

Just did this solo as a 85 arms warrior with iLevel of 365 and it was extremely easy. Just avoid trash and just unload on every boss... The only trouble was Ragnaros as he will throw/push you - and if you don't land in the lava it will kill you. Best way to avoid this was to 'charge' right after he pushes you... that way you will charge midair and avoid any fallen damage.
I just ran this to get the achieve and explore some of the vanilla content... definitely a cool raid.

For those of who cannot access a Direbrew's Remote to enter Blackrock Depths, and then on to Molten Core, get summoned there, or have a hard time finding your way through Blackrock Mountain/Depths, heed this message!
Inside Blackrock Mountain, at the far northwest corner inside, I believe, through the lava is the entrance to Blackrock Depths.
Before you pass through the tunnel system, the Blood Elf named Lothos Riftwaker has a quest called "Attunement to the Core". Accept it, and enter Blackrock Spire.
In being at the dungeon (Blackrock Spire, whose portal is a ways in to the room where Lothos is), you will take the Abandoned Mole Machine to "Just past the Grim Guzzler", and walk towards a ring of mobs. From there you can attempt to pass them, or kill them.
Take a right turn at the first opening to the right of the mobs, and (NPC #9156), a boss named Ambassador Flamewrath, will be there. Be sure not to leave any friends you may be taking outside one far end, or the other, of the boss fight chamber, as engaging him will cause a set of elite elemental giants to spawn on both sides of the sets of entrances and exits. They do give experience and drop loot, but if, for instance, you were running a friend through the dungeon who is a straggler, or who gets ahead, they would possibly die if they were too far behind you or ahead of you because of the additional mobs that spawn due to boss engagement. Again, you may attempt to pass the boss, or kill him.
From there, travel through a chamber to the left of the boss, and you'll find a room full of golems and non-elite dwarves. On chance, you'll run into a rare golem, and I'm not sure if he gives high amounts of experience over the regular mobs/elite mobs. He drops bind-on-pick up gear, which benefits only few.
From there, at the other side of the room, is a way into the next room. "The Seven" will be there, confront and speak to the 1 of 7 dwarves at the far back, and you'll commence a "boss fight". Slay each of the dwarves as they attack, and be swift. If one isn't killed fast enough, another will engage as well, on a set timer. Once they are cleared, a cache next to the now-opening doorway appears that contains 2 of 4 rare pieces of gear.
Pass through the door (which is to the right of where the dwarf who starts the fight was, and where the loot chest is/was), and down-stairs through a hallway somewhere to the right should be a new doorway. Go through it and kill or pass a few elemental mobs, and you'll run across what I believe is titled "Fragment of the Core". Remember to pick it up to the left of the new portal, it's a chunk of black crystal. (It is required for the quest "Attunement to the Core".)
Hopefully you will have somebody in your group, so you can convert your party to a Raid Group.
It appears that as of the Mists of Pandaria Expansion, whether you have it or not, you may now enter raids without needing to be in a Raid Group. This helps if, along the way to Molten Core, you don't want to be in a raid group, seeing as it prevents progressing on any non-raid quests you might be handling at the time (whether it be while waiting for a summon, or if completing quests while in the dungeon, etc.)
From there you can bring up to 39 of your friends, or just 1 or 2, inside to do Molten Core. When you're done with Molten Core, you can run back to the entrance of the raid, exit it, and run back to the entrance/exit of Blackrock Depths (I believe that, on the odd chance as of Mists of Pandaria, exiting the raid portal will send you back to Blackrock Mountains, so that you won't have to walk through Blackrock Spire as well).
Upon exit, make your way out of the cave and back to the area overlooking the lava, and Lothos will accept the "Fragment of the Core" for the quest.
After completion, whenever you talk to him, as a spirit or as alive, he can teleport you back into Molten Core, from there you may exit the Molten Core portal to end up in Blackrock (Depths
/Spire?)/Blackrock Mountain, otherwise talking to Lothos for ease-of-access to Molten Core.
Note: I just realized, at the point when you kill or pass Ambassador Flamewrath, if you have enough (regenerating health or powerful enough healing abilities ) you can jump off the ledge into the lava behind him; the issue is having enough fire resistance or having heals to sustain you as you wade North-bound, while hugging the West wall, to get across to the spot past the Fire Elementals on the ground prodding out of the lava a ways out. Keep hugging the wall until you hit a ramp. Head up it, take a left, and find the 3 Flame Elementals blocking your path, kill or pass and then hang another left and cross the bridge ahead, and from there you're to the portal into Molten Core.
Note 2: Please recognize this if you are to take the shortcut mentioned in the previous note!
If you take the suggested shortcut route, and should you need to return to the dungeon, Blackrock Depths, from the raid, Molten Core: to get back to wherever it is you were wanting to go, you would be unable to, because of the fact that not killing the 7 Dwarves in their boss chamber, to get to the Molten Core Raid entrance portal, would result in being locked out from the outside of the 7 Dwarves chamber. Because of that, your only escape route, to my knowledge, is to use your hearthstone to leave the place. (As noted before, there is the off chance that you may find yourself, on exit of Molten Core by portal, at Blackrock Mountain vs. Blackrock Spire.)
Major Note 3: As of Mist of Pandaria's 5.4 PTR, one may now even use Lothos to teleport you to Molten Core (the same applies to the orb that teleports you to Blackwing Lair) without having had done the attunement quests (to my knowledge). Unless it was some PTR issue, or perhaps if the attunement was account bound, I noticed that my character had the quest to attune to Molten Core displayed while being able to teleport (as well as Blackwing Lair) while being capable of using both teleports. My friend, however, reported that he had no such access, and that he had to do both quests, even though suggesting he'd done the quests before. This leads me to believe he either: recollected doing so on live, did the attunement on an alternate character and didn't happen to get attuned, PTR bugs had a hand in this, or just some other queer issue. Simply keep in mind that, the moment PTR 5.4 goes live, people should check that out. Although my assumption is that the effects are account wide ('the effects' being account-wide attunement access to teleporting) once someone has first done the quest on any given character, (similar to the Brawl Club), it is also very possible it was a PTR issue as of then unresolved, or perhaps it was something of another likeness. In any case, it is highly suggested that people test entry into such similar raids as Molten Core and Blackwing Lair due to the fact that if by any chance other raids requiring quest attunement to simply be given a shortcut entry can have the requirement of quest completion surpassed, well that's self-explanatory, I hope, but just to be clear, I simply mean this; If you've perhaps done the quest on one character, come 5.4, the access of shortcut teleportation into the raid connected to the quest will come account-bound, so that you don't have to do 50 dungeon runs for access to the same raid.

An undocumented change was discovered, which comes with an AWESOME thing that's changed about MC, and a terrible thing.
The awesome thing: You can NOW ENTER MOLTEN CORE WITHOUT BEING IN A RAID! WOO! (Also, the Core Hounds are also much smaller. Not that big of a deal, but hey, it was annoying trying to sneak around the Core Hound room.)
The terrible thing: trash no longer drops cold hard cash, only cheap items which can be sold for silver, and only select bosses drop any gold. For instance, I got 36 gold from Lucifron, but none from Magmadar.
That said, they all still drop purples, still give rep, and the gear still looks great.

Just did this on my Frost DK, 393 iLvl (all pvp gear, so missing out on various dps stats in favour of resi...was missing a bit on bosses as my hit/exp are set up for pvp).
Took 45 minutes total, killing and looting all the trash for the rep and talking to a friend on xfire at the same time.
Took all my blood gear as I didn't know what to expect as I'd only done it once and it was months ago with a priest spam healing me. Ended up not dropping below 70% health the whole time, and even that was only because I had the +100% power cost debuff so ended up mostly auto attacking the boss I was on.
Used death strike once, just to see what it'd heal me for with the -75% healing debuff. Other minor heals from Lifebloom (macroed into blood tap) and rune of the fallen crusader on my offhand. Didn't have to use any defensive cooldowns. Started most bosses with pillar of frost + ghoul and they died quickly.
Got 4842 rep, with killing EVERYTHING. I'm human but my guild only has two active players in so only +5% there and no standards used. Don't know about gold as I didn't look what it was before I went in.

Handy trick for grinding
海达希亚水元素
reputation for the
海达希亚水元素
achievement in
熔火之心
:
If you stand at the entrance to the zone, you still receive reputation for all boss kills done by other members of your raid, regardless of your location in the zone! However, by remaining in one place, you can drop a
协同战旗
, and stay within 100 yards of it. This allows you to actually get the 15% reputation bonus from the
协同战旗
for every boss in
熔火之心
, especially since - without moving - the
协同战旗
stays out for 15 minutes and has only a 10-minute cooldown, ensuring 100% uptime.
This appears to be a unique feature of using
协同战旗
in
熔火之心
, where you get reputation credit for boss kills just by being anywhere in the zone, eliminating the requirement for you to be near the boss, which in turn eliminates the need to actually have the
协同战旗
near boss, either.
Of course, it requires having at least one other player in the raid who can actually kill the bosses while you stand near your
协同战旗
; nonetheless, a 15% bonus to all bosses can dramatically shorten the time to grind from Revered to Exalted if you've got a friend who can help!
Note that the reputation bonus from
协同战旗
stacks with

Solo cleared as a prot pally (374 ilvl gear), with a few hitches.
Most of the fight was easy, spank and tank. Geddon was annoying, because of living bomb. I had to pop loh once, because the next fall was going to kill me (I also don't have the greatest dps out there).
First, on Rag, make sure that you're close enough to him that you don't get killed by falling damage when he tosses you. I also used seal of insight, for the healing (it procced a ton of times, so I was almost always near full health), might, and resistance aura.
Seriously, you have to stand almost in the lava when you're fighting him. It does negligible damage, and when you get thrown, you won't get hit by the ground, you'll just land in lava.
Bubble removes the debuffs that appear, as well. Found that out by accident when I hit my keybind for it.

I can personnaly say that this is soloable at 85, You dont even have to have good gear its easily soloable with the gear you get from normal cataclysm Heroics, you just have to be careful if you don't have some form of slowfall then Baron Geddon has an ability called Living Bomb, which when it fades makes you fly up into the air, so you take damage from the fall, which is about 1/3 of your health other than that you should easily be able to kill any boss by yourself.

Strategy for one/two players from the
Solo/Duo Old Raid Compendium
, done at level 85 at patch 4.3 with ilvl 385-395 gear:
Molten Core
is fully
soloable
.
General Strategy:
Core Hounds
around the 1st boss and before the 2nd will respawn if any Core Hound is still alive a few seconds after other Core Hounds have died, so be sure you AoE each pack equally and kill them all at the same time or avoid them entirely--though one pack will pull with the first boss.
Some curses bosses can put on you can be slightly annoying, such as
Gehenna's Curse
,
Lucifron's Curse
and
Shazzrah's Curse
.
Purification Potion
can help if your class cannot decurse and you are having trouble with these.
The
Core Hounds
that patrol the instance will occasionally cast the nasty
Ancient Dread
or
Ancient Hysteria
debuff, so if you are unable to dispel this, be sure to burn them down as quickly as possible to avoid it.
Bosses: All Easy
Baron Geddon
Will send you in the air and cause fall damage. If your class cannot mitigate this, you will either need to burn him down before he does it twice or pull him to the tunnel where he does not shoot you as high.
Ragnaros
Does a knock back to those in melee which will also cause you fall damage. It can be avoided by running away, or attacking with your back to one of the walls coming up out of the circle.

Speaking as a level 85 Druid, MC is very solo-able. While in bear form, I had no problem killing every single mob in Molten Core. I pulled a few at a time and never fell below 170k health (out of a possible 175k). The only trouble spots were the Baron, when he throws you up into the air, and Ragnaros for the same reason. On the Baron, I had to switch to cat form for the reduction in fall damage to stay alive because of my slow DPS. A DPS class or a tank with decept DPS should be able to burn him before the fall damage becomes life-threatening. On Ragnaros, I used feral charge right as he yelled something about tasting his flames. I was able to avoid all falling damage using feral charge. For non-druids, the best strategy is to position yourself between Ragnaros and a pool of deep lava so that when you're thrown (you move backward about 15 yards) you land in the lava and take the periodic 500 damage instead of the 60% of your health kind of damage. Happy hunting!

Seems they buffed the HP of several of the 'regular' enemies in Molten Core - such as the Lava Surgers/Annihilators and the Core Hounds. I noticed it as well.
Edit for after having run the full go... I noticed bosses have almost no change to HP - if it was, it wasn't significant enough for me to say "WTF?" mainly due to the fact that the Arms Warrior I took through there almost seemed to take down the enemies just as swiftly. Bosses took about the same amount of time, as well. The only thing that disappointed me was the huge chunk of gold that the bosses no longer drop - it was a nice bonus for running it for the hour and a half it takes for me (without distractions or such). The only thing that made it better this week was that the Eye of Sulfuras finally dropped for me.

Should be noted that this raid has now received the 90% gold drop nerf. All the bosses now drop around 1 gold instead of the 100 they used to.

I found this much harder to solo as a destruct lock than before.
We lost several AOE spells.
The corehounds are HUGE, but you can still run around some of the groups before Magmador
I chose the Grimoire of Supremacy, though some have told me not to.
I had the Observer minion out for almost everything
The way I got down the corehounds
Observer on passive
2 rains of fire, and then harvest life, usually two or three times
Other bosses I got down the way I usually did, but I took a lot more damage than I used to. I also heal a lot faster.
I tried to have at least 2 if not all 3 burning embers before I hit a a boss. Chaos bolt did help take the bosses down.
As usual, Ragnaros was easy, thought I had switched to the Fel Imp for that boss.
I am also HIGHLY disappointed at the loss of gold. I would never have run this weekly for gold, it takes too mich time, but at least the gold was a good reward for running it. Luckily I am almost to exalted.

Just did my first run of Molten Core since MoP came out. I took my level 88 hunter through, and there didn't seem to be many significant changes to me, apart from the obvious - and annoying - change to the gold drop.
All of the bosses who dropped any amount of gold are now down to one or two gold max. Even Rag himself dropped under three. I'm quite disappointed about that, because it used to be a very nice little money-spinner for anyone over 80. I understand why they changed it, though, because we really were getting free gold for an hour's boredom.
I didn't even really need to use my tanking pet for the trash because they were doing me so little damage, and I'm really not well geared or anything so I don't imagine other classes would have any problems. With the bosses I didn't notice a lot of difference, and I needed to use Mend Pet occasionally, but they were never doing enough damage to cause any trouble.
I wouldn't call it fun - I'm only still running it for Sulfuron Ingots now that I've got my
Crown of Destruction
- but I'd guess I still got between twenty and thirty gold from selling the trash, and it wasn't a very long time. Not to be sniffed at, I suppose, so if you have 45 minutes or an hour to kill and feel like doing something different, there's always that.

You need to be attuned to this dungeon to enter without a raid group as of 5.1 release, whether farming for the pets or legendary items. Trying to enter through the BRD entrance without the attunement will result in you running face first into the invisible wall behind the portal, which is not a good look.

Demonae
With the new solo-raid accessibility of 5.1, you still need to be in a raid group if you use

and swim through the lava from

Once you have completed

Since this is easily one of the most soloable raids in history, I will discuss how to get around the "Gold Nerf/Squish" Blizzard put in since 5.0.4.
Gather all of the characters meant to fit in a full raid, have all of the characters inside of the instance, and kill the boss. When he dies, his money will be split among the full raid. To avoid the human aspect of greed, a multiboxing system is recommended. Have all of the characters then give their dividends to the main character. There, now you get your old soloing money back. 10, 25, or 40 players. I recommend 25 for the TBC/Cata content, since that is 250+g per boss.

Ran this yesterday on my 85 BM Hunter with 378 Cata gear. It went very smoothly, the only time I dropped below 100k health was after the Baron tossed me in the air, but I burned him down before he did it a 2nd time. I also got 4 BoE purple drops from trash mobs. I made it through the Rag fight before he tossed me. All in all very easy as is getting the attunement if you hadn't done that yet. Didn't get my leg drop though. BooHoo.

Why the hell is this old ass raid still require an attunement quest to get into it? I could have sworn that crap was removed ages ago, but Loftos will not transport me into the raid without that damned quest being done.

You do not need to enter Molten Core the real way (through Blackrock Depths) anymore, now. You can talk to the blood elf and be teleported without doing the quest. Has this always been the case? Anyway, it makes it even easier to enter this awesome raid at level 50.

Last night I completed a solo run of Molten Core on my lvl 86 ret paladin with an item score around the 380s. Soloing the raid went smoothly, I just couldn't pull a lot of adds at once, definitely had to take a few at a time. Only problem I have during the whole raid was the fight with Ragnaros (to be expected). My only issue was when he throws you into the air, people had said to keep your back to the right hand wall, but I couldn't do that since Ragnaros stays stationary and I don't have a huge spell range. I got shot into the air twice, once threw me on the other side of the room and had run all the way back with Ragnaros shooting me in the butt with fireballs, the other time I hit a wall closer to him but was under 10% health at landing since my divine shield was on cool down, luckily I still had lay on hands. Completely soloable around lvl 85 with heavy armor, or help with a companion, just make sure you have a way to keep your health up if he throws you into the air.

Looks like this is going to be an
max level LFR dungeon
(90 or 100? Who knows!)
when wow's 10th anniversary event comes around!

FreelancerMerc
On November 17 2014 (WoW's 10th anniversary) There will be a
max level
-
40 MAN
-
LFR
version of
Molten Core
most likely separating Molten Core in wings (like all LFR editions of raids).
By killing
Ragnaros
in the Max level-LFR edition you will be awarded with a
Core Hound mount
.
The Molten Core LFR will be available for the entity of WoW's 10th anniversary (November 17-December 1) and to people who log within that period of time, you will also get a free
Molten Corgi
battle-pet. The instanced will be tuned in for level 100 characters, and as a side note, the first WoD raiding tier
WILL NOT
be open by the time the Max level-LFR Molten Core ends; What does this mean? No overgeared people helping the rest, so try to remember that.
(During the anniversary a
PvP Event
is also included that will remind you of the good old days).
I don't know if they are revisiting the bosses in order to change the abilities but I doubt since Blizzard is trying to bring this old school feel back for a little. I will keep this post up-to-date with any new information we get on our hands.

Just wanted to give a warning:
Pre-6.0.2, as a lvl 90 hunter I would jump into the lava at the beginning of the instance and swim over to shore for a bit of a short cut. It only did around 800 fire damage, and my spirit beast easily out-healed it with Spirit Mend.
Post-6.0.2 however, the lava now does
8550 - 8600
fire damage, which with the stat squish, can hurt quite a bit. I hurt myself with falling dmg from shallow lava, and I nearly died from the fire dmg because I didn't realize it was hurting so much.

FYI,
Lots of forums talk about the Gear Score requirements for the 10th anniversary runs.
To clear this up as of 12:22am 11/23/2014 you have to have your equip
average at 615
. Additionally, it seems if you have not left Draenor you will not be able to see the LRF for
熔火之心
. Once you head back to Azeroth and check your LRF, it will open for you in Draenor.
I hope this helps, I've spent about 12 hours trying to sort through these issues. Go to Azeroth once you have the AVG 615 gear score and check you LRF.
Up vote so we can get this info out!

For the Limited-Edition MC in Warlords of Dreanor
(Not the Level 60 Classic Version of MC)
LFR MC doesn't
have
to be a wipefest, if a tank or RL knows the strats. There are others ways to do this, but below is how I did it in classic (and the last few LFRs this week). It's macro-ready for easy spamming.
The basics
/rw ONLY tanks pull. Everyone else, STAY BEHIND TANKS--don't move up. Tanks pull one pack at a time.
/rw DONT stand in front of tanks because most of the stuff in here has a frontal cleave and/or fire breath.
/rw MOVE out of fire and other bad, hurty stuff.
This is LFR, so IMHO, never assume that enough of the raid knows this stuff
Attack My Target (Numerous Fights)
/script SetRaidTarget("target",8);
/rw KILL--> {skull}%T <-- KILL
This sets a skull-marker to your target and sends a raidwarning to the DPS. There are many fights in LFR where I use this, such as: Firelords, Core Hound Packs, Majordomo, and others.
Firelords (Trash)
/rw Kill the Lava Spawns (small guys) IMMEDIATLY, they silence our healers. Then kill the big guys.
Core Hound Packs (Trash)
/rw Kill the Core Hounds at the same time (within 10 sec). otherwise, they will AoE res eachother.
/rw Don't pull more Core Hounds untill the old ones completely despawn (or they will get resed)!
I made that two separate macros.
Imp Swarms
I don't have a macro for this...I just try to get people to follow me, stack up, and spam AoE without getting all of the groups at once.
Lucifron (1st Boss)
/rw All DRUIDS, MAGES, and HEALERS: Decurse the HEALERS FIRST, then anyone else you can. The Curse doubles the cost of spells...OOM healers = no heals = GG.
Clear the first core pack before Luci (see above). I recommend pulling them back so you dont get Luci as he pats.
Luci works best to assign an offtank to each add, and a MT to Luci.
After Luci, clear the last 3 core packs, letting each group despawn before you pull the next.
Magmadar (2nd Boss)
His ONLY mechanics are AoE fear and dropping fire on the ground...I dont have a macro for this, I just spam the move out of stuff macro above once.
...And he enrages. Since I'm a druid, I let someone else main tank and I use to dispell the enrage.
Gehennas (3rd Boss)
/rw All DRUIDS, MAGES, and HEALERS: Decurse the TANKS FIRST, then anyone else that you can. The curse reduces healing recieved by 75%. Less heals on tanks = dead tanks = wipe.
Works best to assign an offtank to each add, and a MT to Luci.
Garr (4th Boss)
/rw DO NOT KILL THE {moon}! Warlocks will BANISH {moon}. Tanks will pick up other adds and boss. Kill the unmarked adds. DO NOT KILL {moon}, or garr will enrage = lots of hurty = wipe
They may have removed the enrage mechanic for LFR...I am not sure. I whisper a warlock and ask them to chain CC for me (since many people ignore raid chat).
Prepare for Core Packs (Trash)
/rw STAY IN THIS ROOM for the next 2 bosses. Do NOT move up! Moving up = adds = wipe.
The Core Packs usualy consist of two fire guys and two rock guys. These packs hit very hard and have AoE fire (fire guys) and AoE Stun (rock guys).
The Core Hounds use AoE stun or blind (disorient) at this point in the raid, so try to avoid getting adds (or the two bosses!) by getting the raid to stay in the room where you killed Garr.
Core Packs (Trash)
/rw Tanks will pull ONE Lava Core Pack at a time. TANKS FACE ADDS AWAY FORM RAID. Face adds towards raid = damage and AoE stun = bad
Barron Geddon (5th Boss)
/rw If you have LIVING BOMB, run to {cross} IMMEDIATLY! You'll do massive AoE to the raid if you don't move FAST.. MELEE + TANKS, run AWAY from Barron Geddon whe hes does his AoE..
/rw HEALERS dispell yourselves, then mana-users ONLY
The debuff will burn healer mana MUCH faster than they regen it...so you're whole raid can get locked OOM if there's no dispells. Ideally, no one should dispel non-mana users (like rogues, warriors, etc) because they are NOT in any way effected by this debuff.
Shazzrah (6th Boss)
/rw RANGE + HEALS stay away from boss to avoid his AoE.
/rw All DRUIDS, MAGES and HEALS Decurse he tanks and anyone else you can (the magic debuff doubles magic damage taken and is thus hurty).
Lots of Core Packs and lone (but stunning/blinding) Core Hounds after this boss...
Sulfuron Harbinger (7th Boss)
/rw TANKS: Each grabs a mark and tanks it at the marked spot. HEALS: Make sure at least one of you in range of each tank plz
/rw DPS: Use interrupts (stop their heals!) and kill in order plz: {skull}, {cross}, {triangle}, {moon}
The easiest way to do this is to put a {skull}, {cross}, {triangle}, {moon} marker on the ground, spread at the four corners of the room. Then your tanks should be assigned each to one marked add and bring it to the correct ground marker. Just have your best geared tank do both the Skull and the boss (who you kill LAST).
Golemag (8th Boss)
/rw Need an OFFTANK on {cross} and {triangle}. Other TANKS face boss away form raid.
/rw DPS ignore the adds ({cross} & {triangle}). Attack boss ({skull}) ONLY. MELEE run out when he does stomp!
IE, I would put two tanks on the boss and have one each on the adds. The adds will get ressed as many times as you kill them, so focus DPS on Golemag.
Majordomo (9th Boss)
/rw CC the healers ({moon}, {square}, {circle}, {star}) and keep them CC'ed please!
/rw Each TANK grab one the big guys--DPS plz kill them in order ({skull}, {cross}. {triangle}, {star})
The alternative strategy is to mark the healers and kill them first, but I've had good luck so far with the CC strat.
You can pretty much ignore the boss if you want to, or have one tank chain-taunt him (he resets aggro frequently).
Ragnaros (The Firelord!)
/rw TANKS: Fight for agro because Ragnaros knocks target back & wipes their aggro. Use charge/slowfall to avoid fall damage. Use COOLDOWNS when you're DOT'ed
/rw HEALS: Be prepared for frequent 'random' tank swaps--new tank may take damage quickly.
/rw RANGE + HEALS: Put your back to a wall if you can to avoid being throw very far. Rag knocks you backwards a LOT.
/rw HEALS: Be prepared for frequent 'random' tank swaps--new tank may take damage quickly.
/rw When Rags SUBMURGES adds spawn (Sons of Flame. RANGE + HEALS stay back because they silence. Tanks PICK UP ADDS.
/rw DPS: Kill adds IMMEDIATLY.
That's three macros to get all of the steps in.
I'm not sure, but it looks like they removed the knock-back from the tank de-aggro attack. Ragnaros still drops threat on the current tank, but he doesn't seem to fling us as far.

The entrance can be found by going to: Eastern Kingdoms, Searing Gorge, 35.03, 84.39. You'll have a partially open doorway, enter and follow the tunnel, when you come out you'll be in the Molten Span and you can see the entrances on your map.

Since Legion hit, people might be interested in the tier sets, to put on display in their class halls. The complete tier 1 set drops here, and the leggings from tier 2 drops from Ragnaros. The rest of tier 2 is in Blackwing Lair. NOTE that you no longer need to complete Attunement to the Core. Lothos, the friendly blood elf teleports you straight in!
Every class that's been in game since Vanilla have their own unique tier set that can't be used by any other class, not even as transmogs, so going here with a DK, DH or monk is moot, as you will hardly be able to use anything but the weapons for mogging.
It's a cake walk as 110, nothing makes a dent in you and you oneshot everything, except maybe Executus because of his shielding followers. I do this whole raid in about 20 minutes as a hunter, it might take a bit longer with a melee class. It is a BIG raid, and you can't mount so it isn't possible to do it much faster...
After ten weeks straight, I have my complete tier 1 set but am still waiting for the tier 2 leggings. And the right half of Bindings of the Windseeker... I am also halfway through Revered with Hydraxian Waterlords.
As a skinner/LW, I have also been skinning the core hounds which has gotten me to Exalted with the Thorium Brotherhood, which made me eligible to buy a whole lot more patterns.
Handy tip for hunters: If you get the Fetch glyph from Trueshot Lodge, you can stand on the ledge behind Golemagg, shoot him in the back and then send you pet to FETCH whatever he drops. Saves you lots of time, since you don't have to run the whole way around.

If you want to farm for transmog a fast way to get there is first do the new Pet Battle Dungeon in BRD. If you complete that succesfully you can talk to Horde
玛纳波夫
or Alliance
玛纳波夫
to get you in front of the entrance of BRD. You can just walk back to talk to the blood elf who ports you to the instance.
All your alts have also access to this teleport.

I came here to get the awesome-looking
mage tier
set that drops from this raid. Notes:
raid is in the bottom floor of Blackrock mountain. Look for the chain going to the lowest level, and fly down there. Talk to npc saying "send me there.."
raid has 3 branches. Make sure you kill lucifron and magmadar, then clear to sulfuron then over to golemagg. Majordomo spawns only AFTER everything else is cleared.
something silences for 30 seconds. As mage, look for that auto-attack ability.
empty the bags beforehand. You will get a ton of trash. Including every other tier token for any class. Loot everything, as it should still showup in your mailbox.

A fast way to get to Blackrock Mountain and Molten Core (if not the fastest) is to:
1. Take the portal to Mount Hyjal, fly to the coordinates 42 28 and accept the quest
只有一个可能……
.
2. Click the mole machine right next to the ruins, a small distance south of the quest giver. This will teleport you directly to Blackrock Mountain, to the entrance of Blackrock Caverns.
3. Fly the incredibly short distance to
洛索斯·天痕
and teleport to the raid, you don't need to do the attunement (quest he offers) anymore.
4. This method can be used unlimited amounts of times (in fact I have used this since Cataclysm) to farm any raid or dungeon inside or outside Blackrock Mountain, as long as you don't turn in the quest in Blackrock Caverns.
I originally wrote this comment on the page for the quest
前往黑翼血环
, but thought this would be nice for people to know.

Now is not a good time to be farming Molten Core for rep or set appearances. If you can wait, just do it next year when the new expansion brings accountwide appearance collecting. The rep is timeconsuming to accrue, and being able to farm all the sets on one toon while you do so will take the edge off the grind.
