This dragon and Dreamscythe are on the upper level of Sunken Temple (turn left from the instance entrance, and go up the stairs) They're in the room before Eranikus, and can be killed without clearing the entire area, HOWEVER, before you fight the Shade of Eranikus you have to kill all the dragonkin from the area, or they all come charging in as soon as you engage him. I've killed him and Dreamscythe (they're group agg) with a 60 hunter, 60 rogue, and 52 priest, not that hard, the acid breath hurts a little but you can survive it.
Morphaz has quest drops for class quests for priests, rogues, hunters, and mages (all classes have some quest line that finishes in ST)

Morphaz is easily downable by 3 rogues or 1 60 rogue. All you have to do is stealth in, go to the hall right before the Shade of Eranikus, and fight them with your backs against the wall. You have to fight both of them now because they nerfed the distract-pull and there linked when you pull them. You have to stay against the wall so the knockback effect doesnt punt you into a group of mobs.

I found it easier to take them with a group of 2 warlocks, a warrior, a priest, and a hunter... the warlocks put there dots and curses on it, same with the priest, and the hunter can kite the dumb thing around while its getting dmged by all the dots, the warrior can tank Hazzas while everyone else Pwnes Morphaz!

Does anyone think it's possible for me, a BM Hunter, to solo him?

No matter how many times I run this place, I ALWAYS expect Morphaz to be a water elemental, akin to Legend of Zelda's Morphas, even though I know better.

Tips for the fight:
- Resistances -
1. A night elf/tauren warrior/druid as a tank (+10 Nature Resistance as racial)
2. A druid to give Mark of the Wild (extra nature resistance along with other resistances)
3. A hunter for Aspect of the Wild (+45 Nature Resistance)
4.
Nature Protection Potions
/
Greater Nature Protection Potions
- these potions are handy all over Sunken Temples, so I suggest you buy a stack OR TWO before you head there.
5. A pet with nature resistance to off-tank while fighting the other dragon (Hazzas)
- Tactics -
1. To fight one at a time is possible, how? Simple, have a rogue to distract the other while the other one roams further - when the other dragon is as far as you think he can get, pull the distracted dragon OR the roaming one (to pull the roamer is safer).
2. Have a pet to off-tank the other-
3. Immune to nature damage, elemental shamans and balance druids should do this:
*
Elemental Shaman
= Searing/Magma Totem, Flame Shock-spam, Firetongue Weapon (stay in melee-range throughout the fight because that is a simple way to boost your DPS significantly!)
*
Balance Druid
= Open with Starfire and spam Moonfire (if you have a shaman force him to toss a Mana Spring Totem/Mana Tide Totem for you) - immune to Faerie Fire
4. Immune to all sorts of CC - a nice little trick to gain extra-time is aggro rotating. Simple tactic: have 2 hunters in the group, when the dragons start the fight, pull the other one with Distracting Shot and when he is close, use Feign Death - at that time it will return towards the tank, then the other hunter uses Distracting Shot to gain aggro when he is flying back towards the tank (or, as scary as it sounds, the healer) - at this point the other also feigns and warrior taunts the loose agro. By doing this you can save 15-20 seconds when done correctly.
PS: Giving this many tips might fool you that the fight is hard, it is a very simple fight and any group can do it, but if possible try using a couple of these tips and it will go easier. Ofcourse easily doable without even using any, except the good old tank&spank-technique.

Skipped the adds using some pet kiting and feign death. Not an easy fight, they can't be kited, but I managed it without popping any potions. Had to feign and kill Hazzaz after healing. Enjoy =)

at lvl 56 hunter it was a pretty simple fight (as simple as it can be when elite mobs are concerned) The hardest part was actually getting up to the bosses. As a Hunter I'm only left with one option (aside from attempting to fight them) which is using your poor pet as bait (Poor Kie :( )
Once one enters the instance you take your first left and if you are of the stealthing kind walk right past all the mobs. keep close on your left. along the wall (I was able at lvl 56 to avoid most of the mobs around the center ring by being careful and staying near the wall and walk behind the pillars too) You'll end up coming to a group of about 4 or 5 dragonkin with no little dragon fly things around them, this is where the big dragon is. If you can stealth just stealth on right by them and into the large room. If you have trouble with mobs as a hunter (either cant take them or draw agro) use your pet as bait and feint death in a spot where you aren't going to draw agro and then revive the pet when that battle is over and continue on.
Once in the large room you will see two dragons that circle the room in unison, you can't split them up, if you pull one you pull the other. make sure if you are a hunter like me that when you use your pet as bait that you feint death in the corners of the room (trying to avoid the agro of the giant dragons)
Once you are ready to take on the dragons have at them, as a hunter I made sure I had a pet mend going on my pet before he actually started attacking and then I just let him have at the beast Using Bestial Wrath as well. If I caught agro I simply feint death and told my pet to attack the other one (since this was the one I ended up catching agro) once he had sufficient agro built I let him go back to the other one and we finished them both off without a problem.
As a note I took the dragons from the far right hand corner so as to not get in the way of the dragonkin I had avoided earlier.
You DO NOT agro the small dragons or any dragon, you are ONLY fighting those two giant dragons in the room. And believe me it's more than enough if one isn't a hunter ><
I imagine a rogue and a druid would have much better luck. (and for a priest well just run through and die right before the boss and have a druid friend come rezz you and you can take on the boss together. (since they added the druid rez that is) I have no suggestion for rogues as I have not done it on a low enough lvl to actually give advice on.
Hope everyone finds this useful and if nothing more then so be it ><

I was able to easily 2-man Morphaz using recruit-a-friend to my advantage.
I used a lvl 58 rogue, and stealthed into the room that Morphaz is in. Then, I used the "summon friend" feature to bring in my friend, a 58 priest, thus skipping all the mobs that would've otherwise owned me again and again before I got to the room.
Long story short, it was about the easiest thing I've had to do quest-wise.

I'm a lvl 53 MM with a turtle that i got just for this quest. Getting here was tricky, thanks to roguetienthi comments above it was easier, to add to those though, send in your pet and draw aggro and run to the center section of wall closest to you on the left once you get to the top of the stairs, and then again beside the next section where the candle is. After these two it gets to be a pain, change your camera angle and look down the hall to the boss you are going to fight and send your pet to the last elite you see thats not the boss and follow in after it gets aggro along the way. FD at the end of this hall and wait til the bosses pass by again... if you are MM you have it easy if not you have to keep running til FD is up again as it resets the CD when you stand up... As MM just run into the room on the left of where you are, yes this is the final boss, no he wont aggro as he cannot fight til after you kill Jammal'an the Prophet. Now you FD and are free of mobs and can summon your pet again... Target Morphaz and send your pet in when they are close to the room you are in before they turn the corner. From this point, keep mend pet up, and FD when you aggro the Hazzas, while still down target Hazzas with your pet for a few seconds and then go back to Morphaz... If done perfect you can kill both, Morphaz first then the Hazzas. Hazzas does a knockback and a poison though, so may be a pain to do after just fighting both at once. If not just run back and FD again and then kill him, easy to solo from full HP. And yes you should kill both, not that Hazzas will, but for me he dropped one of thezone drops, and he drops all the blue zone drops at 7-9% so chances are he will drop one of them.
Hope this helps.

I killed him with a 55 lvl rogue and vanished right after before the other dragon kills me. After the fight I was left with less than 100 HP. I had to drink a pot plus to use Lifeblood. I did not use nature resit pot and I believe that it would be MUCH easier if I had. Killed on first try though :-P

For mages doing the new quest that dont recall where this guy is: he is the smaller of two dragons that fly around right outside eranikus' room. No extra clearing needed to free up barriers or whatever else, just run in and whack.

This is probably a parody to the boss, Morpha, of the Water Temple in "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." Both in a sunken temple, and share almost identical names.

I'm sure it's only listed at 3.8% because only 3.8% of the people that have killed him had the quest at the time.

to the poster above..
these guys are imune to blind and any stun for that matter... u also mentioned u blinded the following dragon then vanished... when u vanish it takes u out of combat so he would lose the blind effect..
it can b done with 2 rogues... but i tried on my lonesome and i got hammered... tried seperating them using distract.. worked for about 5 seconds then the other one followed me to where i pulled the other...

if you fail no need to worry cos the pet can tank them long enough so that FD can cooldown again.. and u are safe..

I saw that they made it so you can't split the gordok king and the other ogre, and was wondering if it was a broader change. But I was able to solo this pair repeatedly today as a 60 hunter, and splitting it while duoing with 2 58 rogues was just trivial.

feigned death to the room, used splitpull, used managear and +healing gear for healing pet and beastmastery.
NO PROBLEM!

This is my first time trying this pull, and I'm not sure if I'm just having trouble with the timing, or if they changed the way they aggro in patch 1.10.
When I shoot Hazzas, Morphaz aggroes the same exact instant that Hazzas does. And when Morphaz returns to his path after FD, he stays stationary, in evade mode, until Hazzas reaches his original path as well.
I've also thought about parking my pet as far away as I can, telling him to attack Hazzas then immediately go into passive, thus kiting Hazzas a good distance away from me. However the drakes don't follow normal instance mob rules, and lose aggro after 40 yards or so of chasing something, like regular outdoor mobs.

Last few times I've been to ST, they have never dropped anything at all except for the class level 50 quest items. No more blue drops. Are they just really rare? Or did they clear the loot tables because they were too easy to skip to?
评论来自
Thottbot
They drop loot, the chances are just very low. ie. I did it today and Hazzas dropped Nightfall Drape and Morphaz dropped Drakestone of the Owl, but most of the time they don't drop at all.

I have been stealth solo running these guys trying to get a couple of rings they drop... After the last tuesdays server down time Morphaz Now heals himself ( or maybe the other dragon heals him ) like mad. 5k plus heals... I dont think it is possible to solo run these guys anymore ( at least for a rogue )can anyone confirm this heal thing?
评论来自
Thottbot
I just tried it again and again the Dragon healed itself for over 5k 2 times in the fight. Anyone know what the change is about or can anyone else confirm this?
评论来自
Thottbot
I have some info about this odd healing thing. The heal only occurs when the dragons knock you back. I just fought them and not a single heal, but not a single knock back.

For the best results fighting these two mobs, I highly suggest any kind of Nature Protection potion. Myself (57 Hunter) and a 60 rogue went and killed these guys for my hunter quest and for the rogues Azure Key quest. After trying a couple different failed splitting techniques, we just said screw it and each took one. The Nature resist helped us absorb a ton of their dragon breath, and made the fight much easier.
And if anyone has successfully split them recently (since the last patch or 2) please let me know. Like I said, we didnt try for very long to split them, but I would be interested if the older techniques are still working for some folks.
Thanks!

I didn't manage to split them at 60. Not like they ever path away from each other either, they were almost stacked on top of each other. Soloed Morphaz but was a close call. Had to heal the pet a bunch of times and drew aggro on his friend (can't be frost trapped). Used lifestone and mark of resolution and still died about 1 sec after I had looted the tooth to his buddy. Morphaz didn't seem to heal though.

Morphaz and his dragon buddy are totally soloable at 60.
As a rogue anyway.Im a 60 mace-combat rogue with average gear and i got him with no special tricks.
It took me about 5 tries, when i was at very low health i vanished then waited for all my talents to be back up ( evasion-adrenaline rush - vanish ) then tried again.
Last time after a couple of nice crits i finnaly got him and vanished again, let the other dragon leave and looted my azure key.
I also used thisthletea and a potion of course.

you dont have to kill the mini bosses, just go up stairs to the left, then go to where theres the whole in the middle, then just run south, (go around the whole) then go around the mobs, and theres him and a 53 dragon, (both elite) should be easily soloable by a 60 rogue with prep/combat spec

Temple of Atal'Hakkar (Swamp of Sorrows - 70,53)
where in temple Traktorbek tells us "As you enter head left upstairs. There will be lots of dragonligs you have to clear em all so when you start attk dragon boss they all comes to defend him. Oh and one more thing you have to activate him by killing all mini bosses around circle."
soon to do this myself so... we will know

Why are all the blue drops from each of the dragons the same?
评论来自

You don't have to clear the dragon trash, it does not come when you attack this boss. He flies around in circles in a room with Hazzas, so you have to kill both him and his buddy. But if you can avoid aggro, you don't have to kill a single dragon to fight him.
You also do NOT have to fight the Troll minibosses upstairs to get to this guy. Two of the dragons require you to do so, but not Morphaz or Hazzas.
Basically if you know what you're doing, you can take two people into ST, kill these guys in 5 minutes, and hearth out. It's that simple.

Just some advice to those that think they want to try. I am a 56 Rogue. I need to kill this guy for a quest and got sick of tring to group and have ecerything fall to pieces. I went in alone stealthed passed all the mobs.
I buffed my self with:
Elixer of Mongoose
Elixer of Giants
Elixer of Superior Defense
Mighty Troll's Blood Potion
Greater Stoneshield Potion
Gift of Arthas
Well fed buff of +12 Spirit and Stamina
Crystal Spire.
I cheap shoted him, hit with 2 Sinister Strikes, hit him with a Crystal Yield, another Sinister Strike, then an Evicerate that critted for 1150 damage. Then I was dead.
IT CANNOT BE DONE SOLO.

Just a few notes from a 56 rogue who tried, foolishly, to do this by himself...
Was buffed with a bunch of potions, including a Greater Nature Protection Potion, which I would say is probably essential, along with any armor and stamina you can manage. The potion helped me die quickly, instead of immediately. Both the drakes have an Acid Breath effect that never actually got to me. It bounced off that GNP potion several times without doing any real damage.
I still got my a** kicked though.
Things to take into account when soloing these guys:
(1) They are immune to Cheap Shot.
(2) They are immune to Blind.
(3) They are immune to poisons.
(4) They hit (me at least) for 250-300 HP per shot. (That's a mere 10 landed blows to put me down, maybe 20 if I get the max effect out of my major health potion.)
But the REAL problem:
(5) Apparently, Morphaz can heal himself.
I didn't see that listed in anybody else's comments, but when his health bar jumped from 30% to nearly 80%, let me tell you: that was a baaaaaad feeling. And then I suddenly didn't feel anything at all.
Next time I go back it will be with a posse.

I'm a assasination rogue, soloed him 1 min ago.
first i buffed me with a stamina scroll VI and a mongoose, he's immune to poison.
distract him only and let the bigger one go away
then ambush him, (now the bigger dragon was coming back) evasion, until 5 point, cold blood, eviscerate, preparation, repeat the same thing until he died, vanish
when he was at 30% i drink a Major Healing Potion.
I'm with Lobotomizer and 6x Darkmantle

Get yerself to the circular room with a hole in the middle. Then head south. you'll find him and hazzaz pathing together (and they can't be split anymore).
you'll need to kill em both.
i took a 62 druid with me and they were easy (im 50). i can see them being soloable at 60 pretty easy with some nature protection and stamina. They are immune to most everything (stuns of any nature, blind, gouge, poisons). Just pound em down and you'll be fine if you have help. if you're 60 and prepared stomp em. anything lower than 59/60 and it'll be a rough if not impossible fight.

Cleared this as a beast lord geared 70 hunter with no problems. Follow the instructions above. Clear out all the little guys in the middle, make a left down the tunnel and you'll see two big dragons chasing each other around. Morphaz and Hazzaz. Kill them both and take your tooth.
Yes, even at 70 I believe this very unique devilsaur tooth trinket is useful for pet pulls. That is why they nerf it in later patches.
