One of the most funny
about taurens :)
I just realised something... With the new hunter ability, Camouflage, in Cataclysm, we will finally able to see "
Introduced in Warcraft 3 for the first time, it is the largest sized race in WoW. I sense that in the near future, they will start worshipping the sun and gain access to Paladins and Priests making them the only race to have access to every tank and healer spec in the game.
There is no cow level
Taurens will be allowed to become Paladins in Cataclysm, the Pre-release event explaining this is found in Thunder Bluff.
A Tauren is talking to another about the similarity between Elune and the Earth Mother as a deity, and that she must exist in the sun, as the Earth Mother exists in both - or something like that!
This dialogue event is near the Druid Trainers in Thunder Bluff.
To Iunayah: Elune and the Earth mother are actually the same being, if you follow the night elf and tauren religion, you will see it converges at the same point - Elune the Moon godess and Malorne the great stag.
Its like having 2 different names for the same thing!
Here's da beef.
(Favorite Tauren /silly)
"I hate Thunder Bluff, you can't find a good burger anywhere?"
One of my favorite female Blood Elf /Silly quotes.... How many Taurens did have to hear that one?
Tauren paladins... no more reason to play a blood elf !
Tauren paladins... no more reason to play a blood elf !
The only reason I play a blood elf is because of paladins. And no, I won't roll alliance. There are to much human paladins anyway.
Taurens ftw .
Male dance: Noodle dance / Raise the Roof / Peanut Butter Jelly Time.
Female dance: The Electric Slide
I love the way tauern males shoot there guns i would
say its a "say hello to my little friend" style
Come Cataclysm, Taurens will be the first (and currently the only) race that is capable of being
hybrid class in WoW!
Can you say, 'All tauren raid'?
warrior is the best choice anyway
i would say they look REALLY cool in tanking gear
but the downside is there BIG and its hard to see your
targets and click on them
Tauren pallies are "Lightweights" XD
The ONLY race to properly moo when you /moo, formerly the only race with HUGE mount restrictions, and soon to be the only race with all four tanking classes, and unless I'm making a mistake, the only race with all four healing classes too.
Wow. Blizzard has much love for our bovine friends. This comment is gettin' me hungry for playin' my druid again. I love those horns.
Tauren Paladins... What the f***ing f*** is Blizz thinking?
To remove the necessity of playing a Blood Elf.
Maybe, but why tauren? A tauren paladin/priest makes less sense than nelf mage, dwarf shaman and orc mage combined...
Look at the conversation near the druid trainers.. it actually makes a lot of sense, as does nelf mage (highborne)
Reasons why I love this race,
They are the only hybrid race!
They are the BIGGEST race
They have GOOD
Edit: Added a bullet
Edit2: Link fix.
Balance taurens cast MOOnfire
5 Uses of a Tauren
1. Steak... yummy steak...
2. Druids... (until Cata)
3. Tauren Rogues (THEY EXIST)
In warcraft 3, tauren were portrayed as being about as war-crazy but honorable as the orcs were. They were even trained from the altar of sacrifice, with a big bloody stone in the center. The tauren melee troop had a brash voice and a very vicious personality - the tauren hero acted with wisdom and was more similar to WoW tauren, but still they took a huge pacifist whack in WoW. That was the first thing I immediately noticed about the tauren.
It still doesn't make much sense.
shouldn't lead to a pally, which worships the deity or power collectively known as "
," with more
sun-worship is very pagan in nature
. If they couldn't play shaman, sun-worship would justify that.
If horde needed another pally,
it should have gone to the undead
This isn't the real world, this is Azeroth.
The Earthmother has two eyes, the sun and the moon, and they have only really payed attention to the one eye, being the moon. Cataclysm calls for some change and the other eye of the Earthmother has always been there, so it is not too far fetched that they start to worship them separately, at least not as far fetched as an Undead paladin.
i think tauren race is the best race they can be in the same time scary and funny Tauren FTW
It would be sensible that the forsaken, free of the lich king's grasp, may return to their paladin ways rather than the hatred and revenge of a death knight.
The light "breaks" them though. The reason why undead can be holy priests and are categorized as humanoid are for gameplay purposes.
And the Tauren call their deities Mu'sha (Moon) and An'she (Sun). Up untill recently, the Tauren have only really payed attention to Mu'sha, who could also be Elune. If that's so, then An'she may be the Naaru, which would give a good explanation.
Edit: This is in response to a deleted comment.
Thunderbluff on fire = A steak cookout.
Blizzard was not the first with the idea of a Tauren Paladin...
Look at the god damn red cow!
Edit: fixed link
Edit2: fixed link again, damn bavarians keep changing their website
Undead Paladin is very silly if they
cast Holy Light they will be just killing them selves
On Tauren Females, the right hand shoulder armor appears to be slightly smaller than the left one. I've never seen this on other races.
i just realized why the forsaken hide in the caves there
at night they come out and eat loooooooooooooooooots of beef
There are plenty of examples of the opposite in quests given by the Forsaken. Many quest givers refer to their past.
To Steal From Thieves
the quest giver says the following:
The harlot! The swine! Kenata still lives; her family healthy and prospering while I suffer. Forsaken indeed!
My family is gone, taken by the plague. Our estate also forfeit; looted and burned during the war. And after all that, her and her lousy children had the audacity to steal the only precious belongings I had left."
Sounds like she remembers her past life just fine.
By cows on 07/21/2010 (Patch 3.3.5)
just to answer this stigmata's comment... Undead used to be human and they lost all memories of their past life so in turn if they used to be pallys they wont remeber it...
Hahaha Deathwing 25 man all taurens xD
Don't you think taurens look very slow with their mounts? I mean they look they are going sloooowlyy but they not
if you want to see the stupid looking offspring of the tauren go to shattrath and look for an NPC called Nicole Bartlett
prepare for awe
Don't let them go into a china shop.
When Cataclysm comes out, Tauren will have Paladins, therefore they will have access to all 4 tanking classes in the game (Warriors, Paladins, Druids and Death Knights).
This is pretty awesome due to the fact they have a passive racial +5% health increase :)
Taurens are awsome!
im proud to be a tauren, i have a Druid, hunter, warrior, shaman and a death knight all of em' taurens!
Tauren Rogues? Now how the heck can something that freakin big sneek around? LOL
Tauren Paladin pvp =O
Tauren Rouges? In my opinion will be an epic fail.
Tauren are supose to be a noble race, ¿ A rouge is noble?.
Even blizz reconogize em' as the "Play dirty" class, a tauren will rip his/her/ horns if they get rouges.
P.s: Sorry 4 bad english i just get a C on my english test =P
Edit: if you ever wanna see a tauren in stealth, do the next things
1) get a druid tauren
2) get somthing than transforms you. (
in my opinion, the most easiet to get.)
do the next:
Transform into cat.
use the transformation item.
Debuff the transformation item
and ta-dah! Tauren in stealth!
Racial leader needs to be updated, Cairne died to Garrosh. Baine is the current tauren leader.
As of 4.0.1 Tauren is the only race that cannot be Mage.
There is another mount. Not sure if it's new but its called the Sunwalker Kodo.
If John Entwistle could be a race, he'd be a tauren.
Old Tauren intro (Pre-Cataclysm):
Once a nomadic people, the tauren roamed the endless plains of the barrens, hunting the mighty kodo. Scattered across the land, the wandering tribes were united only by their common hatred for their sworn enemy - the marauding centaur. Seeking aid against the centaur, the great chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof defended the savage orcs who had recently journeyed to Kalimdor. With the orcs' help, Cairne and his tribe were able to drive back the centaur and claim the grasslands of Mulgore for their own. Upon the windswept mesa of Thunderbluff, Cairne built a refuge for his people. Over time, the scattered tribes united under a single banner. Though the noble tauren are peaceful in nature, the rights of the great hunt are venerated as the heart of their spiritual culture. As a tribesman of Mulgore, you must test your skills in the wild and prove yourself in the great hunt.
New Tauren intro:
Great tragedy has rocked the tauren tribes, and shaken their once stalwart devotion to the Horde. A disagreement between the new orc warchief, Garrosh Hellscream, and the beloved tauren chieftan, Cairne Bloodhoof, led to a dual that ended in Cairne's death. With his lost, the vile matriarch, Magatha Grimtotem, launched murderous attack, attempting to sieze control of Thunderbluff for herself. However, Cairne's brave son, Baine Bloodhoof, successfully repelled the attack and banished the surviving Grimtotem to the farthest reaches of the land. Under Baine's hopeful leadership, the tauren people now seek to heal their wounds and restore the balance between the various factions of the Horde. To this end, a new generation of tauren "sunwalkers" has arisen to lead their people into the light of a new dawn and the promise of rebirth. As a proud tribesman of Mulgore, you must uphold the honor of your people and safeguard the lands of your ancestors.
How to look like: Mr. Smite (TBC)
1.) Be a Tauren: Of course. Refer to
(World Drop or AH)
Enjoy getting angry and improvising :)
And one Know where to Find some trainers? i know about the one in molgore and Silvermoon city but where can i find some other one?
Tauren + Pally = Holy Cow
Im not sure if anyone else noticed this but the broken have the same skeletons as the tauren models
Ew. hairy breasts. o.O
haha male blood elf /silly
"were allyd with the taurens? great! we will be having stek twice a week"
Taurens have the most chill music ever, look up the WoW soundtrack on youtube and relax to some tauren beats.
Tauren sit lower in the saddle than previously. This is listed in the
4.2.2 Known Issues sticky
on the Blizzard Entertainment Bug Report Forum.
- What an odd bug. Thought I would share, though.
they taste really good when onion gravy is added.
By far the best race for tanking
The Tauren (Shu'halo in the Tauren tongue) are one of the oldest races native to Azeroth, a proud and tenacious race with bull-like features and a culture that is very similar to a stylized Native American culture.
is an anagram for
So i was playing the trial (Very VERY long time ago almost 7 years (I had several pauses that are equal to 2/3 years my only "hardcore" time was in The Burning Crusade.) And i had to decide to choose a race and class. I was looking at the orcs and thought yes i wanna be like thrall from wcIII. Then i saw it. The Tauren. I was sold. I chose it because, hey noone wants beef with a tauren right? So now i had to choose a class. I thought of shamans but went with warriors because i didn't know $%^& about magic. I JUST WANTED TO SMASH THINGS WITH BIG MACEEEE.. So i spawned in the grassy lands of mulgore. I was hooked. I have made only 3 characters in the coming years. 2 of them are Tauren. And all of them are horde. I also made a Undead Warlock which i played the full period of The Burning Crusade. Why do i like Tauren the most? Obviously it is herbalism skill... No it is the big ass shoulder plates that made me enjoy playing a tauren. I was a alchemist (DUUUH) and always had stacks and stacks of Potion of Giant Growth. I just like big weapons and big shoulder plates. The stun is ok. Its useful for that wtf moment. Or if you are a death knight you can perform a "Anti" charge. The health increase is really good. And the nature resistance is really good also. So whats the downside of a tauren, for most people it is the herbalism skill. Alchemy does not increase your stats permanently. But as a war the healing potion is nice. Now the best thing of a tauren is /dance for sure. It is very funny and a herd of taurens dancing is the best thing ever. Tauren can also be priests now in cataclysm. I find that offensive because of cloth. In the past if you saw a tauren with cloth you laughed at that person and called him a ^&*!$# &*!@#$%. it just doesnt look right. Taurens with pajamas. Tauren do have a tail. Which is also funny. And taurens also have horns. Which is absolutely awesome as a Death Knight. Taurens are for me, the best race ever. And i do believe everyone loves taurens. Except that a lot of retarded/stupid people play tauren. Which has set the stereotype of this specific race to: Bag of Grass-eating Hamburgers that don't know the difference between eating grass and defeating a raid boss. In mid/end wotlk i decided to Resurrect my Tauren Warrior as a Death Knight. Now as for lore, i dont care a lot about every single lore for every single thing. I like the story of the orcs and fel energy and i like the story of death knights for the rest: I could not care less. As for a tauren death knight i find the lore a bit blurry. You were raised after a life of grasseating, bananadancing and failpulling fun to a class so dark, so against nature that it makes your former tauren brothers cry. Aside from the Demon looking horns you can get, the race doesnt feel dark enough for a death knight. But it totally is better then @#$%^ made elves. Conclusion: Evil Taurens are Evil and prefer
from their fallen enemies over grass. Also, best race ever. Other races are just.. Not on a cow level! (Hybrid Race Quotation Created)
EDITED ONE TIME BECAUSE TAUREN IS NOT A CLASS :(
As and addition to my earlier post, Tauren will soon be the only race with
tanking and healing classes, and also the only race with access to all three "pure hybrids" (each spec is a different role.)
So why are you sitting here, reading this? Log on to the game and make a Tauren already!
Great Tank, Great OP DPS
Great Heal, Gerat DPS, Great Tank
compare to other Racials:
Time is Money
I would still love to see a tauren rogue.
Oxhorn made Taurens cool.Gnome punting Ftw!
Any one think of a more calm version of Minotaur's when they first saw this Awesome race. (Likely the Wow version of them) Oh an n 2nd note. Mr Smite was my first encounter of this great race. /respect
''Walk With The Earth Mother''
Now that wowhead has sound files the sound files should be linked off the racial pages.
my favortire horde race alongside the forsaken <3
"'I never told you this before. I wish I had. Do you know," he continued quietly, "that to my mind, you always held the heart of the Horde, Cairne? You, and the tauren. When many others in the Horde hungered for war and darker paths, you listened to the wisdom of your Earth Mother, and counseled us to try other ways, other ideas. You reminded us of forgiveness and compassion. You were our heart, out true spiritual center.'"
-Thrall from Christie Golden's
One of my favorite sections from the book. Thrall showing his thoughts on the tauren and Cairne after Cairne's death.
"One time I laughed so hard I milked all over the floor."
One of my favorit jokes!
When are wowhead gonna update the modelviewer for the new female tauren models?
You can't milk those.
Both as a big fan of the Bloodhoof Tauren, but also from a general point of view, I must say that the Tauren received the greatest improvements to the character models at the launch of patch 6.0. Their fur is so smooth and their faces are immaculately expressive, similar to the way they built the pandaren. The Tauren as we know them have always been peaceful and passionate about the natural wonders that the Earthmother created, and now their faces truly show it! My main may not be a Tauren now as I chose to become an Orc and fit in with Warlords of Draenor. I feel that an Orc fits being a leader in a garrison better than any other race, but the Tauren is definitely the most beautiful race available to be played in World of Warcraft. My first character in WoW was the Tauren Druid in April 2005 and the majesty of Thunder Bluff baffled me; this is not something you saw in games back then! Hail the Earthmother and may peace go with you, Tauren!
/chicken and /train /mooo
Tauren Female ♀
I'm tired of the same old bull.
I want a man with soft hands. Preferably four of them.
I've got big soulful eyes, long eyelashes and a wet tongue. What more could a guy want?
Come over here, sailor.
Wanna see some good clog dancing?
In my native tongue my name means "dances with tassels".
I once laughed so hard I milked all over the floor.
Happy taurens come from Mulgore.
You know how hard it is to get your groove on with the spirit of your great grandmother looking over you?
Tauren Male ♂
You mooove me.
Hey. You into leather?
Free rides for the ladies.
Hey. You work out?
Y'know, older bulls really only have one function.
Are you comfortable with complicated machinery?
Mess with the bull, you get the horns.
Here’s the beef!
Homogenized? No way, I like the ladies.
You know Taurens are born hunters. You ever see a Tauren catch a salmon out of a stream? It really is quite exciting. Have you ever seen a Tauren stalk a python? 'Course you haven't. That's because Taurens are so adept at blending in with their surroundings.
Moo. Are you happy now?
With the introduction of the pirate/outlaw spec for Rogues, I think its high time we put our foot down (hoof?) and demand Tauren Rogues. I've seen enough Tauren pirates in my time playing WoW to know its possible.
To all of those who have never played a tauren before and are interested in race changing into one, ensure you utilize the model viewer beforehand. The tauren, most notably the females, are notorious for their terrible helmet rigging and sizing. Your beloved transmog may not look so good on one of the big cows, so ensure that you'll be happy with how you look before you pay the money to swap!
Tauren were trained in Druid Magic 2,000 years before the Night Elves were. It can be argued that they didn't access the Emerald Dream back then... but, for my buck: tauren were first.
The idea behind the Tauren is most probably from Greek mythology: The
The Minotaur’s appearance is like the Tauren, a bull with the body of a man. Also the name Taur means ”bull” in ancient greek, which is fitting as both the Minotaur and Tauren are of course just that.
Tips about playing/race changing to tauren:
1) people WILL moo at you. every day. all the time. be sure to /moo back. don't disappoint your audience.
2) prepare for an endless stream of cow, beef, milk, steak, burgers, udders, and cheese jokes. don't try to fight it--just go with it. it's unavoidable, so have fun with it.
3) if you aren't ready for constant cow puns, you aren't ready for tauren life. it's a daily thing. best advice: embrace them. learn to love them. otherwise you'll be annoyed all the time.
4) you'll never be named first in a "who's the hottest race" discussion. you probably won't be last (that's typically reserved for dwarves, goblins, or gnomes), but you'll never top the charts.
5) your transmogs will look different due to your large size and odd skull shape. some helmets look bizarre on tauren; others look downright terrible. be sure you can deal with this.
6) male tauren are
. the ladies are big too, but the guys are enormous. if you're used to playing a goblin, gnome, dwarf, or fox, the difference in appearance might take getting used to.
7) male tauren have the appearance of moving very slow and derpy. they don't actually run slower, but they appear to, so don't let that bother you. if it does bother you, play female--they don't have this optical illusion.
8) we don't have a large variety of appearance options like other races do. if you like high customization, don't expect it from the moo-moos. we don't get pink mohawks or glowing tattoos.
9) if you just want a gathering alt, tauren druid is the best. you can instant mount (flying or running), you can gather herbs without breaking your travel/flight form, and you can herb very quickly because of our racial ability.
find other players who adore tauren. befriend them and share the joy. you can identify these folks by their lovely bovine names, such as
11) once in awhile you'll encounter tauren-haters who are vocal about disliking our people. ignore them--they're just jealous. and they probably play a gnome alt.
12) the Highmountain are our friends and allies. never discriminate against the mountain cows. embrace them. we're all in this together.
13) occasionally you'll meet a witty person asking if he can milk you. handle this situation at your own discretion.
14) the male tauren do the Peanut Butter Jelly Time dance. it's a great way of getting retro kicks. or you can annoy your guildies while waiting for a raid pull, or people hanging around Orgrimmar or a summoning stone.
15) Thrall, Sylvanas, Vol'jin, etc...well, we all know who
be War Chief.
enjoy, fellow cows and soon-to-be cows. spread the love and spread the puns :)
I like the American Indian vibe.
