It takes 12 krovalian gold to make the new alchemy mount. Glad my alchemist is transumte spec'ed if this is going to be on a day long cd.

I think your guess is correct. This one is pretty much like the titansteel bar 泰坦精钢锭 for WLK, which was designated to miners instead of alchemists.

Is being Transmutations master going to help in Ultra high level transmutations like this one?

My google-fu is failing me here, what cata alchemy cooldowns are shared? I can transmute blue quality gems all day long, no cd. Last night I transmuted a wotlk epic gem and that triggered the cooldown on living elements. I've read the Truegold and pyrite xmutes currently share a cd; is Living Elements on the Truegold/Pryrite cd as well?

My main issue here is that any transmutes that shares a cd with Truegold has no use. In wotlk, the eternals xmutes shared a cd with epic gem xmute...which meant no one ever used them. Now they have this excellent living elements mechanic (random vs traveling to a specfic zone), and no ones going to bother once they get Truegold, if they do indeed share a cd.

Can anyone shed some light on which xmutes share cooldowns?

I had the vial of the sands recipe and all the other mats, but was buggered that I'd have to wait 12 days for my transmute cds.

Then I made 12 bars on my first transmute, yeah I was absolutey ecstatic!

Except you are incorrect. Truegold is used by TWO professions: Blacksmithing and Engineering. As such, it should be a smelting ability - not Alchemy. Furthermore, it's creating an extremely difficult bottleneck in gear progression right now since it shares the CD with the Volatiles.

This should have been put on the Mining list. Keep the Volatile transmutes where they are, with the CD they have. Spread out the wealth and the profession usefullness.

Unfortunately Alchemy has been a contributor in every expansion in one way or another, and I don't know what the prices are on your server, but the volitile transmute on our server is worthless because the material cost is higher than the output, same with just about every other transmute.

The reason they didn't give it to mining is because mining has a decent cashflow just for selling any smelted or raw material on the AH for Blacksmiths and Jewlcrafters alike.

Today I did my transmute yesterday I did my transmute and the day after that and I've noticed that the CD has been increased from first transmute that was 6hrs then to 11hrs then to 16hrs on the 3rd transmute so I'm going to guess that the CD on Truegold would reset every week and start with 6hr CD ect.

I saw that this transmute resets at 12:00am while I was leveling alch around 11:30pm tonight. I kicked it into high gear and gathered all the mats to hit 525 to do a quick transmute before the reset. I did a truegold transmute at 11:50pm for someone for 200g and got 3 extra from transmutation mastery! lol..... so lucky

In the first day of cata i hited 525 with my alchemy: transmute master.
I was doing Transmute: Truegold every day
Today 12 days have past and i didnt get a double truegold from it, always one bar, atm there is totaly no point to do it, becose you can have much more gold just selling mats.
Kinda disappointing.

The lowest level required to make this is 75 since Illustrious Grand Master Alchemist requires level 75 to learn.

Got to 525 alch at 11:55 so I needed to make one quick and I had to help my sister. Clicked on a transmute and left the computer. I came back to find another pyrite bar in my bag. I was so annoyed, but at least I got double transmute at midnight and sold them for 1200g each.The mats on my realm only cost me 90g. So much profit right at midnight while everyone else was selling, such a great cd. =)

I've transmuted now 9 times. On the 10th I received my 1st Truegold proc. Took long enough to proc. Other then that my toon is a transmutation master. So no idea if it makes a diff anymore ><

No reason to downrate the posts about 5x proc unless you're unlucky/bitter. It just happened to me when I bought someone's CD. As far as distributing all 5 bars, he was content to give me 3 of them and hold onto 2.

Looks like 5x is the most that can proc, though.

This recipe can in fact crit for multiple Truegold bars, I received 5 from my transmute today having only ever seen it crit for 2 in the past.
I am transmutation master for the record, and will upload a screen shot when I get time.

EDIT: I noticed how many 5x crit comments have been down rated, but I was also curious like others as to whether it could crit for more than 2 at a time.

Don't purge, or people wont see it's already been said.

Truegold can crit for 5 on an individual transmute for transmutation masters.

So like how many of these truegold can you get out of transmute being a transmute master? I thought was 2 max but today I got 4! and not only that my cd was like 4 hours down from the normal, can this be real or possible?

you can get 5 max out of one transmute.

The Cooldown didnt increase, you did your transmutes at different times in the day. You did your first transmute at 6 pm server, then 1 pm server, then 8 am server. Simple as that. You can be one of those people who transmute at 11:55 pm server and have a 5 min cooldown and transmute immediately after the cooldown is up and have a 24 hour cooldown. Hope this provides insight to why your cooldown times changed.

took a look at the time and the cooldown seems to be the same as the time remaining to midnight (server time) , so it comes to this. you can only do one transmute a day. but it doesn't realy matter when. just like the daylies.

done my xmute on 2 different xmute masters every day since i got the recipe on both. basically ~50+ xmutes for each character, 100+ total.

Not one single xmute proc yet from truegold. this is discouraging.

To avoid any trouble about who keeps the additional bars in case of a proc I'm currenty letting my (highly mobile but not an alchemist) mage offering a truegold transmutation service. It's a single transaction trade btw.

For those transmute masters who were wondering, the bonus Truegold doesn't seem to occur often. I made all 5 of my 80-85s transmute masters so I could run a little experiment over 10 days.

So over 10 days, with 5 transmute masters, I made exactly 10% more truegold then I normally would. Kind of a low. I'd also like to add that I never once had a second character get a proc (on day 5, my Shaman made 3), So out of the 50 times I made a transmute, I only got 4 actual procs. Making the transmute mastery for this only seem to have about a 8% chance or so to activate..

I also suspect if any of my characters ever do get a 5 Truegold proc, it will be my warrior as he has yet to get a proc these past 15 days. Good luck to all you Transmuters, and I hope my little charts give you useful, if not interesting information at the least. I will update this for 5 more days to get the full 20. Hopefully I can report some good news by then other then 6 straight days of nothing. :(

Super Final Update.
On day 24 I got my first transmute for 5 truegold. (Thats 120 times Transmute: Truegold was casted) This means so far that its a .83% chance for a 5 proc of truegold. (with this string of information anyway)

Except for the fact that tools of the trade for all crafting professions are required for a long while. Noone is asking why you need an arclight spanner for engineering recipies, or why you need a hammer for blacksmithing.

I just want to let transmution masters know that it seems like diffrent places have a better chance to get procs for more truegold. On my server I have transmuted truegold in org and undercity. Out of the 10 times I did it in org I only got one truegold every time. out of the 3 times I did it in undercity once I got 5 and another time I got 3. My advice go to diffrent capital cities and see if you have more of a chance to get truegold to proc.

on my server, truegold is now worth less than the price of materials to make it, thanks to braindead alchemists who dont give a damn about offering it at a reasonable price. time to switch back to potion master. i only got a rare x2 proc off of this anyway..

its not like alchemy has many big ticket items anyway, so why is there such a high concentration of asshats in this profession?

What trouble are you speaking of? If I give you the mats to transmute, and it procs an extra, I get it. If you on your own are transmuting, and you get a proc, then you keep the extra.

There is no trouble.. whoever provides the mats, gets the results, regardless of if they proc or not.

Some person was selling there CD for 100g, so i said what the heck I'll do it to see if it makes me so gold. I've never done this before, so i give him the matts and 100g and of course FIVE of them proc.

So yes, I am 1/1 for getting a 5 truegold proc. Be jealous

Well , it doesnt make sense to sell cd for 50-100g unless you are transmutation master. On my realm , 1 volatile life costs 3~g and 1 volatile air sells for 20~g and guaranteed to proc when living elements used in uldum . Approximate profit is : 17x15= 255g.

Currently on my server ( Alexatrasza US) it is completely unprofitable to create Truegold barring some lucky Transmutation Master procs. Furthermore, Transmute: Living Elements has a higher profit margin, shown by some simple napkin math:

Mats for truegold are about 500 gold. Truegold sells for about 425. According to the Accepted rate that Transmutation Master lets you create 20% more of the product, over the course of 5 days I would have 6 Truegold for the price of 5. Thus, i would have spent 2500g and sold the results for about 2550, a profit of 10g a day.

On the other hand, Living Elements takes 15 Volatile Life, which at around 10g per would cost 150g. By transmuting these to Volatile Water, which sells for about 22g each, I would make a profit of about 180g a day, before factoring Transmutation Master procs.

TL;DR: With current market prices on my server at least, Living Elements transmute is more profittable than Truegold. Check your AHs to see what will be the best in your market.

Note: prices will probably change (go up) over the next weeks as people get more recipes and the Firelands drops needed to craft their gear.

i had a 5 tg cd right before firelands went live for US, and havent gotten a single proc since said 5. pre firelands i felt that almost every other day i had a tg proc and now. never. so xmute for profit doesnt really seem viable as pot or flasks are now

In my realm, 1 truegold is about 530g buyout. all mats are about 891g buyout. i asked an alchemist to make some for me (as a test) and they said 530g... i don't know if that is just 1 unintelligent alchemist or if it represents my whole server(Cenarion Circle). Most likely, and to stay on the safe side, it would be worth it to buy it on the AH.

When created by an alchemist, truegold has a chance to "proc". This means that you have a chance to make extra truegold with the mats of one, up to 5 truegold. The estimated proc rate is as follows. 1=100% 2=9% 3=4% 4=1.5% 5=0.5%

Personally, I think Blizzard did an incredible job of making alchemists a GREAT profession, and balancing the market.

As this spell shares a cooldown with Transmute: Living Elements, and Transmute: Truegold was valued over Transmute: Living Elements, no one would ever use the Living Elements transmute. However, as we all know, one volatile would always get too expensive. (50g Volatile Airs anyone?)

As most of us know, you can go to the respective zone (Hyjal - Fire) (Deepholm - Earth) (Uldum - Air) (Vash'jir - Water) to get a volatile of your choice, so this spell, Transmute: Living Elements, essentially always gives you the Volatile you want. (The one that gives you the most gold)

Because of this, alchemists ALWAYS make money. Back when Truegold was the s***, if all the Volatiles were reasonably priced, you'd make great gold from Truegold, especially with procs. They aren't moderately priced, though? Use Living Elements, and make great use of the cheap Volatile Life that exists on every server, or the herbalist that you raised to 525 with alchemy. Either way, alchemists always make money, and they always will.

And that, my friend, is one example of why Alchemy is the best profession in World of Warcraft.

As of patch 5.0.4 there is currently no longer a 24 hour cooldown on this anymore - so craft away. Not sure if this temp or perm so might want to take advantage of it while you can just in case.

The cooldown seems to have been removed with WoW 5.0 did random login/logout to do my "daily" transmute and by mistake i double clicked and made two in a row. then i clicked again without problems.

The price on Truegold will be lowered insanely with this change so sell while you can. =)
