It only persists while your in 1k, but one nice thing is, it has unlimited use.

I just had this buff while entering Shimmering Flats, so it's definitely not only in Thousand Needles. When I left Shimmering Flats, it disappeared. When I came back, it reappeared. I never had this buff before when entering this zone so it could be a random zone-wide buff.

Confirmed. It was on me as soon as I flew over the great lift, at 70. It faded when I entered Tanaris.

Is this horde side only? So far only my hordie has gotten it however I see its supposed to be a "30% proc chance" So I didn't know if that had anything to do with it.

Doesn't seem like it procs as often as it says. Only about once a fight for me. Still helps though. Can also crit, just not very often. Only done it once for me and it was twice as much damage (660 @ lvl33).

Seems to me like it will only proc if the mobs give experience to you. I tried casting Earth Shock Rank 1 on a grey mob for 5 mins and not a single proc... Might have been very unlucky though.

I dont have any chars at 1k Needles lvl range, so I cant confirm this.

I got this buff today in Nagrand on my mage. No idea what from though.

Also, seem to be getting it on an alt in Duskwallow marsh also. Doesn't seem to be zone specific. It's the fist time I seen it, and now all my toons are getting it.

Got this on my 19 ally pala today in Redridge, just logged out to reboot because my mouse was playing up, logged in with this buff, awesome. Think I'll go find Yowler.

Was in Feralas farming the Orb of Deception, so in The Maul.
Tho the mob I needed wasn't there I went killing some ogres around The Maul.
I also suddenly got this buff for just 1 second, couldnt even read what was happening!
but then it happened again and again and again.. still when killing the Ogres.
then I tried hopping around on my mount and found out that if you jump from where the General Chat of Dire Maul is to the Feralas part you get the buff.. it sounds strange I know:p but I tried it like .. a hundred times. quite cool.. shame it was just half a second to a second each time..
oh well.. hoped this helped.

the buff is just active in feralas i think. and since you are in the dire maul zone then it fades. i think it's just you changing zones :D

I was getting this buff today in Feralas, entering from desolace in Ruins of Rawenwind. I don't know why i get it, but i have grouped a friend,and when he come in ferals he has had too...

I have contacted a GM, it has said to me that it is a zone-wide buff, associated with midsummer Festival.

I hope of having satisfied your curiosity :)

From my experience of this spell today, i have deduced that it only occurs when you are in an area designated for your level and while the fire festival is happening. This buff greatly helps leveling as it increases your xp/hr.

The proc rate seems more to be 5% as opposed to 30%, when dual wielding.
OR the hidden cooldown is very very high

Just got this buff 3 minutes ago, i was very surprised of that, didn't knew about this one O_O
Anyway! Been farming Voidshakers for Greater Shadow Res enchanting formula in Netherstorm(outland) and cuddenly get a buff(while fighting a mob).
So yeah, alliance can get the buff as well as horde. Can get it in outlands. Gives 700 fire dmg procs at lvl 70 (10 dmg per lvl I belive). Can have it while mounted.
However it seems to have a hiden cooldown(45-60secs I belive).
It can crit and it seems like it does gain damage from talents.
Was looking forward for info and looks like its infact a buff from which you get when the bonfire festival is set up.

I was just leaving Un'Goro Crater then notice I was suddenally buffed with this buff. seems cool enough. Prob means the midsummer festival is around the corner.

I got this buff on me for a minute or 2. I never seen it trigger when i casted my affliction spells. Unless it's damage that doesnt show up on the screen?

the buff is active as long as the zone-specific midsummer bonfire is lighted using a burning blossom. also gives the fire festival fury buff which increases your crit chance by 3% and additional fire damage on attack.

p.s: don't forget to dance at the ribbon pole. extra 10% xp from killing mobs. the longer you dance, the longer the buff is. though the cap is 60 minutes.

Just tested this out on my lvl 26 shaman, 46 warrior and 70 druid and found this information to be accurate.

Toss one of the blossoms in to activate the zone buff as well as a personal 3% crit buff.

The crit / aura / 10% xp is Phenominal for leveling so i'll be doing quite a bit of grinding over the next week or two while the holiday is in affect.

I logged onto my level 8 BE paladin alt and it popped up on me in eversong woods, i dont know where it came from but its nice doing a random proc of death, it went away in like 10 minutes though =/

It was also nice with seal of righteousness, totaling me a possiblity of doing 91 damage to a mob, basicly a one shot kill on the mobs for lowbies lol

I had this briefly on my 55 Paladin, got it when flying from TB to Org... didn't know what the heck it was, I thought something had shot a fireball at me. It was gone when I landed in Org, so I never actually got to use it.

The bonfires burn until a Character of the opposite faction cancels them, getting 10 Blossoms that way. Once a hordie uses a blossom on the fire, it starts again and thus activates the buff.

If you are going to be questing in an area, be sure to light the bonfire so that you receive this buff. It lasts until someone of the opposite faction comes and desecrates your fire.

Everyone should visit the fire festival tents before setting out to quest or otherwise get exp. There's a tent at a horde city in every zone that has a horde city.

If you dance around the fire pole for 5 seconds, you get the Ribbon Dance buff (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=29175) for 3 minutes. If you keep dancing you'll add 3 minutes, up to an hour. Talk to one of the quest givers nearby to honor the fire, then throw the blossom he gives you on the fire for the Fire Festival Fury buff (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=46352). Finally, as long as the big bonfire at the tent is lit and you're in that zone, you'll receive the Bonfire's Blessing buff.

So that means you're getting +10% exp, +3% critical strike, occasional fire damage, and a 30% on-attack fire damage proc, all for free. Definitely some good stuff right there.

seems to scale with fire damage. my level 31 mage's fireball crits for about 300 and this bonfire proc _hits_ for 320 ish, and crits for a lot more. haven't tested with other chars.

Obviously 90% of you people have no idea what you're talking about.

Every zone has a Bonfire during the Midsummer Fire Fesival and as long as that fire is burning, everyone in the zone gets a buff called Bonfire's Blessing.

If the fire dies out you can reignite it with a Burning Blossom.

I'm positive that there is a hidden cd on this. I was killing solo mobs with a 1.5 wep speed thrash axe and seal of the crusader up, and It proced about once a fight, dispite the fact that I was doing about 3 hits a second.

I bet what blizz did was leave the proc rate high, but put in a long hidden cd, so fast attacking classes wouldent be op as oposed to other ones. eg: fury war to ret pally.

when someone uses a burning blossom on the bonfire the whole zone gets this buff until someone of the opposite faction desecrates the fire. it can last < 1 minute or forever

it can definitely crit and can almost one shot mobs at low levels

on my level 6 hunter i rolled today i managed to crit with an autoshot along with the buff for 450 damage killing the poor mob in one

average damage being 15 - 20 on an autoshot

will be sad to see this buff go, very usefull when leveling a lowbie character

plus the quests to "honor the fires" are excellent free xp

Ok, a little information for those a little confused.

This buff can only be active during the Midsummer Fire Festival (June 21st - July 4th) and if your faction has a bonfire in the zone that you are currently in AND it is lit, you will have the buff. If you go from a zone with a lit bonfire to a zone with an unlit bonfire, the buff will disappear.

To light a bonfire, use a Burning Blossom near it. To put out the opposite factions bonfire, right click to open it then complete the quest Desecrate this Fire! (WARNING: Completing this quest WILL flag you, not lighting your own, just putting out the other factions)

The process rate does not appear to be anywhere near 30% as a freshly-applied effect can take a substantially long time to execute.

If I had to guess, I think it may have been a typo on Blizzard's part and is actually 3% process rate. When I first saw that it was 30%, my initial thought was "No Way!". I'm going with the typo-theory on this one :)

This buff and the +10% experience ( http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=29175 ) are very usefully for power leveling, and i would recommend people to play their alts now instead of after :D

To get these buffs you got to:
Ribbon Dance: Find a ribbon pole (go to the nearest midsummer camp and click the ribbon pole) - stay there spinning around until it has stacked to 60 minutes

For Bonfire's Blessing : go to the nearest midsummer camp again, and use a Burning Blossom to get a 60 minute buff and the Your level * 10 dmg buff.

It's exceedingly annoying how you can go light the bonfire and when you reach your "farm" spot the buff is off...

I just don't get it, i mean would be awesome if the Bonfire was actually lit for like 30 minutes or so atleast, so that i may bask in this buff's extreme glory :P

A quick table of what the buff is all about:

Players inside an area with a burning bonfire will get the 'Bonfire's Blessing' buff.
The buff gives every attack (melee, ranged, spell) a chance to inflict fire damage equal to ten times your level. So a level 10 would inflict 100 fire damage.
The fire damage proc CAN crit, dealing twice the damage.
The buff remains until the fire is doused by a member of the opposite faction who is 'stealing' your flame. Any member of your faction can then throw a Burning Blossom in, which will result in regaining the buff.
Everyone in the zone will get the buff, regardless of being mounted, in combat etc.
The buff benefits from debuffs such as Curse of the Elements, and talents as Improved Scorch.
Please note that the damage will not be increased by items and talents that increase your spell damage done.
Although the proc chance is 30% as noted on the tooltip, don't expect it to show much. The proc has a hidden cooldown of 45 seconds.
Works in any druid form capable of attacking.

The buff is extremely nice for leveling alts, as the damage (your level times ten) will usually take away half of the health (or more) of the mobs you are fighting at level 1-20. Be sure to do the pole dance for a 10% increase in experience for killing mobs, as well as throwing in a blossom to get a Fire Shield buff that deals damage equal to two times your level to attacking enemies. It also increases melee spell and ranged crit by 3%.

There seems to be something wrong with either me or the buff.
On my hunter it happens almost everytime at range, but has never happened in melee.
On my mage it happens after almost every spell, but never in melee.
To check I went on my warrior:
Suprise happens nearly every melee but never at range.

Can somebody explain why?

*Sigh* Seems like everyone is so happy about this buff, but what about poor RP leveling ppl, (on RP servers...) All well and good, if you buff Yourself with it only, but Forcing this buff on everyone is just lame. You cannot cancel it yourself and that 230 damage (on my lvl23) is more than my slow 2h's CRITS.

Not everyone wants to level ASAP, it already goes far too fast.

I found this interesting. Every other place in the game where there's a damage spread, it's lowest to highest (for example, weapons doing 24.1 to 25.3). When I checked the buff on an 80 today, it was the reverse: "801 to 800 fire damage".

Not groundbreaking or anything, but I thought it odd.

you need to be careful with this buff. while the extra damage is great, it also hugely increases your threat when it procs, making for some close situations. My lock almost died because it procced on an already critted shadowbolt, and needless to say, hogger got mad.

Bonfire's Blessing does a ridiculous amount of damage at low levels.

I just have to poke a mob 2 or 3 times (happens very quickly as rogue) and it gets insta-gibbed for 120 damage. That is 90% of the mob's HP bar!

Learned the hard way you can not remove this buff if you are in a zone with it active. I just attempted to tame Degu by getting him to 30%. As a 120 hunter with all of my gear off 1 melee attack did 18K of his 55k health, while bonfire's blessing proc'd for another 141k. And now waiting for another respawn in hopes I don't accidentally one-shot him.
