Quite an easy fight; Solo'd him as a 19 rogue using only a Lesser Healing Potion. Only thing that remotely hurts is his flame breath which hit for 100. He also has a fear, so I'd recommend clearing the entire top of the hill.

Note that the adds respawn FAST, and he takes his time to arrive after summoning him, so you have to kill them then immediately summon him.

lvl20 fire mage - got him down to 25%, but he is too tough for someone with so little HP/armor. Used a coarse stone statue and a health pot, as well as Evoc, but couldn't get him down. Reran it with a 19 Shaman and it was a piece of cake.

Note that when you click on the bonfire, the Bundle of Dragon Bones is taken from your inventory, so if you die without killing him, you will have to abandon the quest and get it again from Prince Toreth to get another bundle of bones with which to summon Razormaw.

Soloed as a 20 shaman, no need of healing of any kind. Just put a stoneskin down and earth shock his flame breath.

Not sure if they changed it, but I found this quest extremelly hard to solo as a 19 mage. He have a lot more than 980 hp as shown here, and moves really fast, making impossible to just kite. After 3 fireballs and some fire blasts left him still 90%.

Soloed him as a 19 Priest. Hard fight. I had to pot and use Desperate prayer but I did it.
Also he's immune to fear.

This mob has been buffed considerably, he can't be kited and has lots more HP than mentioned previously. Bring a healer.

I just fought him solo as a 21 priest and he is still fearable and stunnable. Keep fearing him if you can and keep dots up.

I just solo'd this on a 20 Draenei Frost Mage, first attempt. He's *not* immune to Frost Nova, so I just used that whenever I could to put some distance between us, though he does move very fast. I pelted him with as many Frostbolts as I could, using Fire Blast as well. I only used Mana Shield once and GotN, didn't use Cold Snap or Evocation, and I'm not specced for Frostbite, but I do have Imp. Frost Nova and Permafrost. With all this in mind, you should be able to take him down pretty fast if you use all your abilities well.

Just solo'd him as a 19 warrior. Had to use a healing statue, lesser healing potion, and Gift of the Naaru. Other than that it wasn't too difficult.

i soloed as a lvl 20 hunter BORING reward was crap i just used concusiv shot first to slow him the arcane shot and last i used poison sting a few more melay hits and he was gone pet did like 20 damg

They must have tweaked him in a couple of patches. Lvl 21 shaman and I have died twice with him at less then half health. fears ALOT!!! he even made me run off the side of the mountain. Bring help, and use disrupt attacks.

As a level 20 mage(frost), I found him quite hard, Took me about two minutes to kite him down, He had about 1020 health, Had to use Gift of Naaru half way through the fight.
He hit for between 40 and 50, And crits for 80-100.

Popped retaliation as a 20 fury warrior, probably wouldn't have needed to if i was draenei. Ended up with about 15% hp, not the easiest quest ever but the rewards are good.

a handy tip if your a shaman: set down an earthbound and a searing totem if he fears you he cant hit you cause he is slowed and the searing is just for dmg.

Solo'd as a lvl19 shadow priest. Didn't have to heal.
Open with Smite, Fear, Mind Blast, DoT and wand. Remember to keep up your bubble.
In my case I could fear a second time.

Just wanted to say how I did; let me preface by mentioning that I normally don't play physical DPS classes, and this was my first warrior above level 12 (I don't know why, but I always stopped after my level 10 quest). My Night Elf warrior was 19 at the time of acceptance and completion.

First try went horrible; I missed too many breaths and simply wasn't ready for him.

Second try I managed to down him with less than 100 HP left (I had 620 total). I kept an eye out for the breaths and caught more of them, and I also switched to def. stance and smacked him around with Revenge. I used one Lesser Healing Potion, and since I'm a Night Elf, didn't have GotN or anything to fall back on (he died well before my pot came off CD).

It's possible to solo, even while not being a Draenei, especially if you have any sort of interrupts for the breath.

I did this at level 23 Protection Paladin and had no trouble... very easy boss... must be nurfed now or something...

As a druid at lvl 20, he is a complete pushover.

Root - (Insect Swarm if you're Balance) - Starfire - Starfire

Rinse and repeat. He did exactly -0- damage on me, since I simply moved out of range when he started casting his flame breath.

I soloed this as a 19 priest (shadow specd). It was fairly easy. Just clear the top, make sure inner fire is up, and summon him. While waiting, use power word shield. Back up and spam target him until he is clickable (as he is descending). As soon as possible cast shadow word: pain, and begin casting your spells. Your shield will go quickly, so make sure to keep that up. Use HoTs frequently. He will often get your health down to 50%, so make sure when your shield is up to use heal. When mana gets about halfway, use symbol of hope. There you go - he should go down in less than a minute. Just make sure bubble and SW: pain are up as much as possible. I didn't try fearing him, but it would be a good idea to if needed.

No health pots needed, although I unnecessarily used one when he was at 1%, and my health was ~40% - oops.

I tried as a 19 Firemage. It is simply impossible; the moment he landed, even though I was at max range already and spamming frostbolt, he was in melee before the cast went off. Then I frost nova'd, ran to max range and used fireball and frostbolt, after which he ran, slowed but still very fast, back into melee, feared me and killed me while my nova was on cooldown. The only thing I could do was run away, but he is so fast that he could not be slowed and thus kept hitting me- as a mage that means death.

I (17 Enhancement Shaman) and a 20 Shadow Priest duo'd this guy, although I died when we were feared and he was unable to heal me. Pretty easy fight.

As a shaman, having the tremor totem helps a lot, having interrupted the fears and most of the flame breaths. The flame breaths do hit for 100. I also had my healing stream totem (not too much good, but every little bit helped). Felt slightly noobish when I had my Stoneskin totem down the first time.

Also, he does take a while to come from the air initially. If you want some extra damage, definitely put your Searing totem down, but not until he's pretty much in front of you

Granted me 500 rep for Darnassus and 1650 exp when i completed this quest. Razormaw when I was lvl 22 was about 253 exp.

I just did this quest as a 21 hunter (BM, if it matters) and it was rediculously easy. I got to the top of the mountain and cleared every dragon whelp I could find, like the comments suggest. I threw the bones into the fire, and about 10 seconds later Razormaw comes flying down from the east side of the mountain. I got as far west as I could and waited until he was attackable (for the first couple of seconds he stands there, non attackable) and he suddenly starts charging fairly quickly.

I got my pet on him, he got agro, I marked the dragon, stepped a few steps back, and started spamming arcane shot and keeping serpent sting up. needless to say the dragon was dead before he used any fear or fire breath, and I didnt need to heal or use Mend pet once. the whole fight lasted less time then it took for the fight to begin.

Confirmed: "Granted me 500 rep for Darnassus and 1650 exp when I completed this quest." I was lvl 21

First time around, I did this as a level 17 Priest with my friend who was a level 19 Hunter. First time didn't go down very well because we both got feared, but the second time around we did it pretty easily, using a strategy of her Hunter attacking and my Priest healing her.

The second time I soloed as a level 19 Hunter. It blew my mind at how easy it was compared to the first time I had ever tried this quest. I beat him within no time at all by using my pet to attack him upfront while I attacked him from a distance. Had no need to heal during the fight.

Easily slayed by a lvl 19 Hunter, didn't need any items, I just was lucky, because he went after my pet first, so I could easily shoot him from a distance with my crossbow, while my pet was dealing damage. (surprisingly, it made it out alive as well)

Was a level 38 draenai doing this quest, of course it was extremely easy, just wanted to point out that the rep gain is 500 not 256. Wewt, 400 rep away from my cat!

Just soloed as a lvl 19 draenai warrior. Didn't have any problem thanks to Gift of the Naaru and one Lesser Health Potion.

What I did was first clear the mountain ridge of any whelps and broodlings. Razormaw uses a fear attack so you could risk pulling additional mobs which is bad for anyoen soloing this. When you're ready, summon Razormaw by using the bonfire. I had to wait a while for the dragon to land but it was less than 30 seconds or so. Just don't be surprised if he doesn't appear immediately.

The fight is sort of simple. Razormaw attacks melee mostly and once in a while casts a Fire Breath which does 100 hp damage, regardless of circumstances it seems. Once my health was down to 50 % I used Gift of the Naaru to replenish health while I hacked away and did pretty good. Just to be safe I used a Lesser Health Potion when I was back to 40 % hp left.

He used Fear only once during this battle. I didn't have any problems killing him solo.

I haven't seen any reports from paladins, so I'd offer my experience. I solo'd him as a level 21 ret paladin in mostly Burnished gear with the mace from the level 20 pally quest. Now, my mace is enchanted with Crusader (mostly for RP reasons), but it happened to proc almost the moment I started combat. Razormaw was dead in about three shots (or at least it looked like three!)

Lucky Crusader procs aside, paladins -- particularly ret paladins -- should be okay with him, especially if you can use Exorcism. If you're ret and use Seal of the Crusader + Hammer of Justice + Judgement (I recommend Judgement of Light), you're even better off. Good luck!

Wow. What are the odds?
I had WoW minimized half way up the mountain to check something out and reopened it up to see I had died. I ran back to my corpse and finished fighting my way to the mountain to the area to summon Razormaw and realized that I forgot to restart the quest and get the bones again....
Cursing to myself, I began slipping down the mountain again and managed to agro Razormaw completely on accident!
Easily beaten by a lvl 20 shaman solo. 1 or 2 heals and gift of the naru made it a piece of cake. The previous comment about using tremor totem was also a great help. Avoiding fire spells of course. Any way, its overall an easy quest if you're prepared. ^_^

I soloed this as a level 19 rogue. I used Sinister Strikex4 and then Expose Armor followed by Sinister Strikex3 and Slice and Dice. Finished him off with a few more Sinister Strikes and finaly Eviscerate. I used Evasion half way into the fight, and Kick whenever he casted his fire spell (which hit me for 70 with 512 armor and no resistances). I used no potions of any kind. It also might be worth noting that you can not be stealthed going into the fight.

Took him solo as a 19 Hunter. Had to use Mend Pet once to keep my pet alive due to some nasty damage output from him, but otherwise gave me no problems. Be advised that he takes a moment or two to actually show up once you summon him. There will probably be two or three dragons on the hilltop as well so clear them out or be aware of adds.

Very easy to solo as a 19 Shaman.

After clearing the mobs I got my health/mana up and got all my buffs ready: heroic presence, minor elixir of strength, minor elixir of defense, tracker's insight (intellect buff from turning in the shards at Blood Watch), Rockbiter weapon, and a fresh Lightning Shield

Laid down the Tremor Totem to negate his fear.

Summoned him, waited about 10-15 seconds for him to arrive. Once I had his aggro I laid down a Searing Totem for some extra damage.

The fight is incredibly easy as long as you use Earth Shock when he starts using his flame breath attack. You may draw some of the respawned whelps, but do not panic; they do not hit very hard.

As a Draenei Shaman you can turn on your Gift of the Naaru if things look dim. If you're a herbalist, turn on your Lifeblood spell since it is instant cast if he hits with you a flame breath. If not a herbalist, use a lesser healing potion.

Very easy fight, all of my fellow shamwows should have no problem!

Easier than I thought it would be, as a level 19 priest.

Make sure your Inner Fire and Fortitude buffs are up before summoning.

Summon Razormaw and when he becomes aggressive, immediately apply your Shield.
Then quickly use Pain followed by Mind Blast, re-applying when needed.
Other than that, just keep using your wand in between casting.

Do not use Smite, as it will use your mana up too quick.
Razormaw will fear you, but it doesn't last long and I did not once have to heal myself.
Using Psychic Scream once or twice will also be useful when applied with Pain.

Just soloed as a 19 Mage spec for arcane and frost. I used only frost nova, frostbolt and arcane missiles plus dampen magic and frost armor. Had to use the Gift of Naaru on myself once but other than that it was easy.

Just finished this as a 19 shaman.

Any draeni with an interupt should be able to do this. he does not hit very hard, but his flame breath will take 50% of your hp, he will cast it every 6-8 seconds.

I was able to interupt all his casts other than one, which i used Gift of the Naru for.

Pretty simple.

Soloed it as a lvl 20 ret Paladin, fairly easy. Used the buffs devotion aura, blessing of might and seal of righteousness - then killed him using judgment of life, I never got below 50 % life and didn't use GotN.

This quest is definitely still soloable. As a level 19 Retribution paladin, I had absolutely no issues at all. Before you call down Razormaw, make sure that...

You're at full health (and mana, if you have it), and fully buffed. (As a pally this meant protection aura, blessing of might, and seal of righteousness.)
You've cleared all the surrounding mobs. Don't let respawns be the reason you start over! If you get killed before you kill Razormaw, you have to recollect 8 dragon bones from Ragefeather Ridge all over again.

Razormaw himself is relatively simple. He'll do a fireball that hits for ~100 damage, and he'll fear. You shouldn't have to worry about either, especially if you can heal. If you want to interrupt either spell, it'll make your life easier. If you're a Draenei, Gift of the Naruu is especially helpful- it has no mana cost, and will heal you pretty much to full health. Through the fight I personally didn't drop below 80% health or 95% mana. Pretty much any class can solo this quest.

Soloed this guy fairly easily as a 19 warrior with heirloom gear. Used Gift of the Naaru as a back up but probably didn't need to. Then I promptly fell off the cliff and died.
Main point of the post is just be careful where you step, especially after a fear.

Solo'd as a 20 Resto Shaman, post 4.0.1 - so no Tremor Totem here. Messed up a little, cause I threw my Totes too early, so by the time he showed up, some were about to expire, so I re-threw them; Healing Stream, Searing, and Earthbind - had Earth Shield on myself. Got feared once - no big deal - didn't get me below 90% health, or mana - didn't heal.

In 4.0.1 a lvl 19 paladin can EASILY solo this by spamming exorcism until he dies. Only should take four or five casts of it to kill him (since he's undead it auto crits)!

First did soloed as a 19 Warrior, took around 30 seconds but I'm pretty sure the mob's been majorly buffed since then (I don't remember it being able to use Fear, but it was a long time ago).

Could not solo it as a level 24 Mage, probably because I spec'd fire. Squishies beware, if he doesn't send you running off the mountain he'll burn you to a crisp very soon.

Just completed this solo with a level 21 Holy Paladin and took just about half the time as with the warrior. Using Exorcism will wipe out over half his health and you wont even need to heal once. I very nearly got Feared off the mountain but the effect ran out right at the edge and I used Holy Shock to finish him off. Very easy on Pally.

I solo'd him as a lvl 19 priest. It was pretty easy as there was no respawn as I was there. I will say I lucked out and didn't have to wait for him. I just made sure that my shield was always on and used my normal combo of holy fire, penance and mind blast. Also Shadow Word: Pain. He did fear me once and I had to keep my wits so that I wouldnt fall off the cliff but it didnt last too long.
