There are four named beasts throughout the Barrens that drop quest-starting items. All of the quests are turned in at Jorn Skyseer in Camp Taurajo.

Here's a consolidated list:
Washte Pawne - red wind serpent (wandering Blackthorn Ridge for me)
Owatanka - blue thunder lizard directly south of Camp Taurajo
Lakota'mani - grey kodo (46,49 for me, typically wanders east of Agama'gor)
The Harvester - blue/black silithid insect (found toward the back of the western Field of Giants area)

For those who are using targeting macros, the name of the bug is not "The Harvester" it is called Silithid Harvester. /tar the harvester made me bash my brains in cuz i couldnt find the guy, when he was there the whole time!
