Doing the first part of this quest is not too bad, but the follow up is painful and unrewarding, and frankly a waste of time. All you get is some reputation (75) and a stack of 5 trogg ale

Not sure if it was just me but.. it seems like these kegs have always been here but until recently all i got for interacting with them was a relog due to being stuck in the loot position :P

fr ppl who dont know, Chen is a Panderan Brewmaster, one of the most famous actually.....yet he isnt talked alot about in lore......

After searching The Barrens about an hour I found the keg that starts the quest at 55.8,20.0 (near Kranal Fiss). Apparently it spawns at other random locations as well.

As of today, you can still pick up the quest from Drohn in Ratchet. However, Stormhides which dropped Lightning Glands and Greater Thunderhawks which dropped Thunderhawk Saliva Glands have been removed from the game. I grinded on Stormsnouts and some random Thunderhawks for a while hoping the quest items had been moved to the newer mobs but no luck.

Confirmed with what Dominia has stated, the Greater Thunderhawks and Stormhides are no longer in the game.

The first part of this quest has been reinstated and IS possible. You get it from Brewmaster Drohn in Ratchet. It's slightly different, though.

The Thunder Lizards (Stormsnouts) are near the centre of the southern barrens; everything else is pretty easy to attain.

A follow-up quest has the requirements of the old quest...
This one seems impossible; there are similar beasts but none named properly.

Before Cata, there was a series of three quests, all with the same name, but with different quest numbers:

Chen's Empty Keg (#819) (The quest covered by this page.)

老陈的空酒桶 (#822)

The first one was triggered by the player finding a container (), looting it for the quest item (老陈的空酒桶), and getting the quest from that. Before Cata, the empty kegs were scattered throughout the Barrens (see the old page for the container), but they were removed from the game, making it impossible to pick up the quest. The second quest isn't offered, either. Unfortunately, the third is still offered in Ratchet (N. Barrens), but other changes made it impossible to complete. (The Stormhides (old page) (needed for the lightning glands) and the 雷鹰的唾液腺s were removed from the game.) The quest is automatically abandoned silently if you enter Southern Barrens. (That's where you would have to go for everything but the 科多兽的肝脏.) Also, the Kodo liver is deleted from your inventory if you already collected one. Nothing changes if you enter zones other than S. Barrens, though.

Some lore: Chen, who lost the keg, is 陈烈酒 (Wowpedia page), the brewmaster pandaren in the Mists cinematic. He was established as a character in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, but hadn't actually appeared in WoW until MoP.
