Everything about this daily plain sucks. The arbitrarly high mushroom requirement, the fact that the mushrooms can only seemingly spawn in few spots and that other players can steal them from you makes this my top 5 least favourite quests in the game.

Tbh with all the fuzz and aoe going on you shoud loot the shrooms spawning on the ground, you get 1/2 each time, people prefer to aoe fest, got the quest done in less then 5 min flying around the quest zone.

Good example of why you should not add quests like this. People don't read them and just kill the mushrooms without ghouls next to it. So you're forced to loot the small mushrooms on the edges of the area.

Incredibly frustrating quest, too many people running around just killing the mushrooms without actually reading the quest :(

You can also collect the Gloom Sporelings that spawns around the area. Screenshot submitted. Gives 1-2 成熟的孢子样本 and respawns pretty fast on several locations along buildings and structure parts.

If you just happen to be in the area of 79, 64 at the base of Necropolis - Gllom Sporelings grow here, and respawn often - so If you find a lot of people farming the main area - keep [ooking here. 2-3 spawn each time

This quest is frustrating as hell. People don't read the quest description and kill shrooms before you are able to lure and kill any scourge mob nearby.

I hope they will learn how to do it in couple of days but now it takes way longer than it should.

To be fair to all the non-reading people, I killed plenty of mobs near the shrooms, and they never became collectible. Maybe a bug or a glitch or something.

If you are in a raid group for killing the rares you can't pick up these mushrooms and you don't get scourgestone progress

How to do this quest:
Kill mobs near the mushrooms! Mushrooms get bigger by eating the corpses of the fallen. Bigger the mushroom = more quest items. STOP KILLING THE MUSHROOMS!

One of the most annoying Daily Quests that Blizzard has designed lately, and the frustration factor doesn't make it worth it for the paulty rewards you get.

You basically have to kill mobs near the large mushrooms. This will cause the quest objects to spawn, which can than be picked up.

The quest objects are NOT shareable. Anybody can (and does) fly in and grab it when you're busy with mobs. So unless you decide to play dirty and just lurk around in the air, wait for somebody else to do the hard work, and then swoop in and steal the quest object, it will take you forever to get the items needs to finish the Daily Quest.

Oh, and there's quickly-respawning Elite mobs as well that patrol the area. Have fun with that.

A tip to deal with people yanking the shrooms from you: use a no-damage ability on the shrooms. Great examples are interrupts and CC abilities. That way, you have the shroom tagged, and when someone unintentionally or intentionally kills the shroom you were working on, you will at least get what was there.

I thought the most insufferable thing about pre-patch was people asking in general every 5 seconds to be spoon-fed the location of the next rare as if addons don't exist, and then this %^&*ing quest came into my life.

This Really ISN'T a complicated thing. Kill mobs by the shrooms. Shroom gets buff to show how fed it is. Kill shroom to loot. The more you feed it the more quest items you get from it. SO...Stop trying to steal the shrooms from other people. Stop AOEing. Tag it with a non damaging spell and help pull and kill mobs on Shroom.

This quest is the single piece of most damning evidence that exists in-game to prove that some people REFUSE to read quest text, even if something seems wrong or off with what they're doing. Seen multiple people complain the drop rate sucks in General chat, but it never once occurred to them to look at the quest text and see if there might be a reason. You're not into lore, that's fine! But when did refusing to read quest text become a badge of honor?

So you have to deal with mobs of other people who didn't read the quest text just killing the mushrooms without maturing to get TWENTY of these things? Absolute garbage quest.

step 1: find a mushroom on the edge of the quest area with fewer players around.

step 2: kill mobs NEAR the mushroom to make it grow bigger.

step 3: once you've killed a bunch of mobs near the mushroom and it's grown large, kill the mushroom for a bunch of quest drops (appears to be one sample for regular mobs, 5 for elites)

If you try to do this in a crowded area, other players just run up and kill the mushrooms, not knowing how the quest works, and you get nothing. So it's better to do it on the edge of the area where you have a little more control and can tag the mushroom if it's getting low on health.

The one thing I don't understand about this quest (other than the idiot design and the morons who can't read quest text) is what actually damages the mushrooms?

I was killing scourge around the mushroom on my afflic warlock (so no aoe damage) and the mushrooms were getting damaged and eventually died even though I never touched them. Most stacks I could get on them was 8 before the mushroom died.

A really fun and interesting quest completely ruined by what seems to be the ignorant (i.e. those who habitually don't bother to read the quest text) majority of the player-base.

If you go to 79.30, 64.78 there are two "rows" of mushrooms running north/south, the quest items hyperspawned between these two rows for me on several alts.
Hope this helps for others finishing this out on alts.
