You get Anima Embers for doing almost anything inside Torghast. Took me about half of a run to get 150 needed for the quest.

You can do any Wing in torghast to get the Anima Embers:

1- you have to loot dead enemies
2- trapped soul ramnents give Embers as well when you free them
3- no Embers from breaking Phylactery jars or Mawrats
4- you get same amount of Embers from all layers and floors, so it is best to start from L1F1 to do it fast
Edit:
5- the 灵魂馈赠 anima power give about 30 Anima Embers

The Soulforge Layer 1 gives total of 185 Anima Embers if you clear 95% of it (skipped only one small part of one level).

You do not need to finish the run. I left after aquiring my 150 Embers and saw the requirment "Leave Tortghast through the exit door" (i do not remember the exact wording) and was upset as i thought i had to finish the run. So i restarted a run and went through it. After finishing the requirment was still not met.
You only need to leave through the door back to the Maw.

I'd already done 2 layer 8 clears when I received this quest. Went back into layer 1 Coldheart Interstitia and met quest requirements about 1/3rd of the way through floor 4 (floor 3 was a vendor floor). Quick and easy

I was able to complete this quest while doing the Torment Chamber: Jaina quest to rescue Jaina Proudmoore. I had all 150 by floor 5.

For those wondering, yes, you can complete this quest inside the Twisting Corridors.

Yes, an easy+quick level 1 run of Torgast will complete this quest. You often don't even need to clear all of layer 5.
Yes, you can bail out instantly once you loot the 150 - you don't need to complete the run.
Yes, you can complete this in Twisting Corridors.
