Genn Greymane explains what's happened in a short dialog and cutscene:

The Banshee's accursed shadow hangs over us all.

She will pay for what she's done!

What happened?

This starts a cutscene where lich king Bolvar narrates dramatically while Sylvanas tears the lich king helm apart, an ominous shadow falls over Orgrimmar, Kul Tiras, etc, and finally Genn meets Anduin at Lion's Rest and suddenly Anduin is kidnapped by valkyries while Genn shouts "NOOO!" like Luke Skywalker.
