hm.. no Illidan just one dead soldier and a tent. I will try to relog
Okay, so I think I figured it out. You can be sent to two different camps. But if one is destroyed and you still have the quest, you won't be able to turn it in, because Illidan/Alleria won't be there anymore (and you will see only some dead bats lying around). You can still go to another camp that is up and return later to get this one.
If you abandoned the quest, while the camp is dead or about to be destroyed (1 min warning given), you won't be able to hand in the quest, thus the game will not offer it again if you abandon it.
Don't worry, the quest will be offered again and can be handed in when the camp is up again.
Basically the camp can be "active", it can be "destroyed" or it is "about to be destroyed" (with a 1min warning given).
This seems to be a breadcrumb quest (as they usually are with go find NPC x somewhere else quests), that is supposed to bring you to another quest hub / story line. But if you already completed the followup
You won't be able and you don't actually need to do this quest anymore. Simply move on :)
You can check if you completed the followup with this script: /run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(47473))
Edit 1: It does give you a flight path though, so not sure what's up with that and how to get it. When I moved to the camp there were no NPCs only dead bats on the ground
Edit 2: I realized that the camps seem to be randomized and destroyed every now and then. If the camp is destroyed and you did not hand in the quest in time, you should be able to pick it up later again, when the camp is back up and not dead.
Edit 3: Added info from response by FlowXL below regarding the 1 min timer
Blizzard really needs to give us more warning. I had no idea why I lost my beacon in the Veiled Den, and no idea why I had a quest go to to Light's Purchase.
I see only dead ppl (well, and some demons too). No Illidan.
so does this quest come available again at all
Reinforce the Veiled Den
*As per comments only one appear at a time. Return to the Vindicaar Antoran Wastes to complete other.
I am confused on this Beacon. The script comes back true for this quest along with a true on checking the follow-up Sizing Up The Opposition quest, but no Beacon. What do we do next?
So it looks like that Light's Purchase and The Veiled Den are on either a random / or set rotation on the daily reset. Yesterday I had Light's Purchase up and Alleria there, now it's destroyed she's not there and today the Veiled Den is active...looks like this was intended.
Ease quest, you need to use teleport to go and speal with Illidan.

"go back to your high exarch >_<"
yeah, hi, Lord Alzheimer, I'm supposed to be your second-in-command or somesuch?
Well. I don't see other reports of this. I got the quest. Find old Illy boy. I talk to him. But. No quest completion. *shrug*
I remember the name of this quest before and I know I've done it before but for the life of me I've no idea how I got there. That's my problem now...I have the ! over the ship for the quest but I have no damn idea how to get there with this awful pathing in Argus. Its frustrating because like most right now i'm trying to clean the maps of any quests that grant rep each night...this is the only one left for me ATM.
I just got to the quest for Veiled Den. I went up to Illidan.. I completed the quest. He said, 'I hope you can keep up!'.. And.. Nothing happened. No quest, nothing.
If you're here because you've done everything on Argus and your map says you don't have the quick travel point unlocked at the Veiled Den, that may not actually be the case.
I've been tracking this, and one day the quick travel point will be there, then the next day it won't. I have screen prints to prove it.
I don't know the exact trigger, but I believe it has something to do with the current phase, which (as I understand it) changes from day to day on Argus. Maybe someone who's better informed can elaborate, but apparently the travel point exists in one phase but not the other.
So if you're frustrated that you don't have the quick travel point unlocked, and you can't find the mission to unlock it, there's a possibility that you actually did complete this mission and the travel point is indeed unlocked.
To determine if you've completed the quest, try the following macro:
