Since the quest only have the requirement; killing Gul'dan, we can probably assume the quest can be completed on LFR too. Well, the quest line was a pretty long one, not that I didn't enjoy it or anything. But it's a nice reward nonetheless!

Had a couple issues with trying to turn this in today.
- If you port into the Nighthold as part of the quest, it tries to port you out after 60 seconds for not being in that instance's raid group. I just joined a group through the group finder for, say, mana fishing and it made the countdown stop.
- Also, Thalyssra wouldn't actually let me turn in the last part of it while inside the Nighthold. I just took the portal behind her, then talked to Occuleth and ported back, re-watched them talk, then it finally worked.

Was given to me by Oculeth in Shal'Aran. Turned in Lord of the Shadow Council, I didn't see any follow up quests inside the raid, just the option to help Khadgar teleport the Eye to Dal. So I did that, got ported to Dalaran, hearth to Shal'Aran, picked up the available quest (this one) from Oculeth. He then ported me back to the Nightwell, where I spoke with Thalyssra, completed the quest and was awarded this mount.

I then used my Dalaran hearthstone and proceeded to run laps around the city for 10-15 minutes while enjoying the compliments and gratz.

Just downed Gul'dan, but only 7/10 in the raid (missing Spellblade, Tich, and Botanist). Whenever Oculeth ports me in, I end up in the sewer post-Trilliax instead of at the top where I assume I should be. Also the teleporters under the spire are not spawned. Tried abandoning and retalking to Oculeth and no changes. Any one else have this issue?

If you cant complete it for some reason or it says "Nighthold not available on mythic difficulty" - click on your portrait and set raid difficulty to Normal. It should work the.

Someone left a comment sort of describing the same issue I encountered, but just for clarity's sake I wanted to create one.

If you get this quest and talk to Oculeth to teleport to the Nighthold but DO NOT see Thalyssra or other NPCs, hearth out and change your Raid Difficulty (I killed Gul'dan on Normal but my own personal raid difficulty was set to Heroic, so I hearthed and swapped it to Normal).

After that, I went back to Oculeth, teleported me to the Nightspire in the Nighthold and I then saw the appropriate NPCs including Thalyssra to turn the quest into. This likely is a bug occurring at the time this comment was made, so disregard it in the future if it's been "fixed"!

If you're like me and just left raid after killing Gul'dan then you might have overlooked the quest you got there, it is about teleporting the Eye of Aman'Thul to Dalaran, if you did mess up and forget to do that quest you can run into the instance (the one you're saved to) and run up to Gul'dan's platform and complete the quest, you'll need a friend (or a stranger) to invite to a group and convert to raid to get in, it'll only take a couple of minutes, after this you'll turn in the quest to Khadgar for a nice little questing buff and then the quest will become available in Shal'Aran.

I spent a good hour thinking it was bugged or it was because I didn't finish every single quest in Suramar but nope it was just me overlooking this mistake, I figured I would post this here just in case anyone else has this issue, the fix is pretty simple and not punishing.

Amending onto what guardianrash said, If you get ported the the stairs in the sewers right after Trillax with a wall blocking the way down you need to go to where the bridge that connects the nightwell to Surmar is, and walk through that portal to be ported to the right area.

Basically if you are ported in and don't see any NPCs, walk backward from the respawn point for every boss post Trillax

This is a fix for if you have your difficulty set to normal but have a chopped up instance save (I was 5/10)

If, like me, you are experiencing Buggy behavior when you get ported in, (ie: Thalyssra won't start the "RP" dialogue") take the portal back out, speak to Oculeth and go back in.
(also, make sure you have Raid difficulty set to the same as that which you cleared it on before going back in)

She should then behave normally and continue the quest progression.

For anyone like me, who has completed Insurrection and Good Suramaritan and is wandering around and saying "Where is my god#@mn quest", there is a requirement that is still on our way - We have to complete the quest 暗夜要塞：暗影议会首领 which is the followup quest after Insurrection is over.

Here is to sum up the requirements:

You need to complete the Achievement “Good Suramaritan”.
You need to complete the Achievement “Insurrection”.
You need to complete the quest: “Lord of the Shadow Council” which you obtain from Khadgar after completing the Insurrection questline.This quest is to kill Gul´dan in the Nighhold raid.

Couldn't help but burst into laughter at the revelations of this quest. Right after killing Gul'dan, we and Khadgar immediately grab the Eye of Aman'thul and take it to Dalaran. Then I come back to Suramar.
"The Nightwell's dying since you guys took the Eye of Aman'thul."
...Whoops.

I am having huge issues handing this quest in now thanks to my own stupidity. After I was ported to the nighthold form Oculeth i accidently clicked the portal to return to shal'aran instead of handing in the quest to Thalysra. Now i can't hand it in. Oculeth has no ability to teleport me again and thalysra is no where to be found. I reentered the nighthold and tried to take the Portal to nighthold font where gul'dan is but there is no more portal anymore... I don't know what else to do...

please help!

While I am grateful for the comments regarding how buggy this quest is, this post is about the lore. In short, this is a very satisfying quest (and not just because of the mount), and I encourage everyone to pay attention to the dialogue. To summarize how this quest and your efforts in the Broken Isles fit into the overall lore:

-- The Nightwell is the great source of power that allows the Nightborne to be sustained as they protect themselves from the Legion's harm by a large defensive shield around the city -- thus effectively isolating them from the rest of Azeroth.
-- The Legion convinces influential and powerful Nightborne leaders to let the Legion in anyway, but the Nightborne still require the Nightwell (plus the Legion's "good will" toward them) in order to survive. Now they are isolated, addicted, and in captivity.
-- You, the adventurer, help the Nightborne to create the Arcandor tree, the fruit of which essentially ends their addictive dependence on the Nightwell.
-- You, the adventurer, help the Nightborne to reclaim their city by entering the Nighthold and defeating both the Legion forces and the Nightborne leaders who let the Legion in -- thus ending their captivity.
-- First Arcanist Thalyssra makes the decision to let the now destabilized Nightwell die out rather than attempt to harness its powers any further and potentially draw them back into an addictive relationship with the once great source of power.
-- And now, the Nightborne can begin their efforts to end their isolation, attempt to rebuild, and rejoin the world of Azeroth.

Like I said... Very satisfying.

You need to be in a raid group to complete the quest. You can get ported and hear the story but you won't get credit for completion if you're not in a raid group.

For those who just go in and finish the quest withouth bothering to talk to the npcs, each one has some specific dialogue

Lady Liadrin: I am impressed. Letting go of the nightwell was no easy task. Its power and allure will fade with time. As it was with us, they will find their own way in this world.

Tyrande Whisperwind: The nightwell is no more. These Nightborne will learn to survive without its corrupting power, or they will perish. Let us hope it is the former

Chief telemancer Oculeth: This is the right decision. The power here is too great, the responsibility too heavy. Even Elisande was destroyed by it. We must let it go.

Arcanist Valtrois: I will always wonder what might have been, had we chosen to save the nightwell. What are we without its power? In the end i trust Thalyssra´s judgment. Under her leadership i know the Nightborne will forge a new path.

If, as the culmination of the current storyline, you’re going to present me with a quest that is just dialogue, at least supress the World Quest pop-up that spams me as I enter the instance. It somewhat spoils the mood.

trying to complete this but after occuleth teleports me to nighthold normal where i killed guldan 20 min ago it says " you are not in this instance group" and gives me a 1 min timer before it tps me to graveyard,
The rp finishes after about 50 sec and the quest wont change to completed, then i get tped to entrance of nighthold.

any tips?

edit: waited about 1 hour and now it worked.

The quest can be completed even after LFR difficulty. Just did it today.

Just had the quest bug out, easy fix for it though.

Talked to Oculeth, took the port, but when I zoned in all the NPC's remained inactive. I could speak to Thalyssra, but she didn't have anything to activate and there was nothing I could do. All I needed to do was simply take the portal back to Shal'Aran and then talk to Oculeth again to port back inside. Once I zoned in all the NPC's were working as intended and the quest completed within 20 seconds.

If you're running around an empty Nighthold even after checking raid difficulty (I completed quest in LFR anyway) head up the ramp to platform where you can mount up then just run round towards the stairs up to Spellblade Aluriel but DON'T run up the stairs, just keep going a little further around platform and you'll be zoned into the right area with the Nightwell and First Arcanist Thalyssra

Didn't notice anyone mentioning this: The exact raid you have to que for in LFR is Betrayer's Rise, no need to do the entire Nighthold raid if your just trying to get the Arcanist's Manasaber mount. This can be done on normal.

Completed the quest and got the artifact item and completed. But forgot to talk for te teleport i think.

I killed him on LFR. Did the port out, got the follow up in Surumar, ported in............ nothing.

Theres a dot for the person in the middle of the zone but no one is there. You cannot set LFR as a difficulty, so how do you complete the quest? I queued for another FLR wing, but when I ported into that I was in an empty zone though i could see raidmember's dots.

totally confused.

this is how it works, take the mision and before the NPC teleport you just change the raid dificulti to normal, and you will see.

I seem to be having a problem not mentioned here. Oculeth won't port me! I completed Nighthold in LFR only. I click on Oculeth, and I see the option "I am ready, Oculeth." when I click it nothing happens. I've tried relogging. How can I complete this?

For all the people as lost as me, here is what you should do:
1) You have already done the Suramar quest line, because you wanted flying - check!
2) You have killed Gul'dan blah blah - check!
3) You question yourself: Where is my freaking mana cat thingy mount - check!

Okay, brace yourself because it will take between 30 mins and 1 hour - ughh ... :(

1. Go talk to Khadgar Pain in the A*s guy in Dalaran. If you are lazy like me and have abandoned the New Karazan Qestline you will have the " ! " sayin its that quest when you open it on the minimap, but still go talk to him. He will now give quest about the Eye of something and killing Gul'dan and stuff.
2. LFR Time - please god kill me .... Go on the last Nighthold LFR wing ... keep in mind this might not be the last available LFR wing at that moment, so use your eyes and read ...

If you have healing spec qeue as healer cause it will be faster, but dont go as tank cause that means you will actually have to do stuff.

3. Chill and wait for the others to kill Gul'dan. DO NOT LEAVE but instead go and talk to Khadgar white haired pain ... and he will port you back to dalaran with the Eye artefact object thingy. Good job, you did well !

4. Go to your base of operations in Suramar where you get the quest and the Whitered training mount farming thing. Go to the portals ( On your left) and talk to Oculeth ( dat name ...), he will give you quest and teleport you to the Nighthold. Chill and listen cause there is some lore there (if thats your thing).

5. After they decide to .... spoiler spoiler I am not telling ... justs return the quest to female doing most of the decision making at that moment.

6. Bravo bravo bravo - you just got yourself your 278th mount ... or something. We both know you will never use it ... but still you got to have it :)

Now only 20 to go to 300...

Note: If you have already done this quest and received the Arcanist's Manasaber mount, then run another character through everything, you will not be able to complete the quest to get a useless mount. Thalyssra just stands there and will not talk to you.

very buggy quest

3 times got the message 'You are not in this instance group, blah, blah-blah'

After reading some workarounds changing raid difficulty is what sorted it.

Nightborne don't need to complete the last quest. It's autocompleted. They can buy the mount straight from Thalryssa.

I go to get the quest, and you have to say "I'm ready to go!" to get teleported by Oculeth...except when I press it he just turns away from me like I clicked "x" instead of the lets go lol.
Any tips? I've logged in/out and also fully quit WoW and relogged on, nothing.
Grr I want my stupid mount lol

Okay... I really don't understand what happened here:

- I got Good Sumaritan because I wanted flying.

- I got Insurrection because I wanted to unlock Nightborne.

- Then, with my lvl 30 Nightborne, I HS to Suramar, took the portal to Shal'Aran and there, I talked to First Arcanist Thalyssra. Saw what she had to sell. She had the Arcanist's Manasaber for me free of charge (see picture)

I have not done any raid and especially not Nighthold, I didn't do any Khadgar quest whatsoever.

My other characters can also use this mount (so cool it can fly!).

If you get ported out after 60 sec try to change your raid difficulty and try again. Worked for me!

In case you want the mount but haven't don't any of Suramars storyline:

1) You will need to do pretty much all quests in Suramar. Meaning you will do all the storylines. You can start by selecting Suramar in your class hall. From then do every single quest and story in random order.
You need to do all the storylines in order to open prerequisite quests and to gain a reputation.

2) Once you do all the storylines and quests you will end up with a quest to kill Gul Dan. If you are 120 you can solo it, but it takes time so it's better to ask a couple of friends to make it faster. Gul Dan has about 10m live, so if you are decently geared he will be dead in couple of seconds.
After you kill Gul Dan talk to Kadgar to finish the quest.

3) Go to the cave in the center of Suramar to talk to Oculeth, he will port you back to Nighthold to talk to Thalyssra.

4) You just received the mount. In order to learn how to ride it, you need to be Exalted.

TIP: Since doing all storylines can take multiple days I recommend to do all Nightborne worldquests while you do story quests so you get more reputation.

If you are stuck after all these:

Stuck part: Fate of the Nightborne

You are trying to talk to Oculeth "I am ready, Oculeth" when he is downstairs and nothing happens. Then you need to say you are ready and quick run upstairs to the portal room. Screen starts loading and you teleport to Nighthold to get your mount.

I was stuck there for a while until I found this fix and it worked. Sharing it here to save some trouble :)
