Can use macro for 伪装 after you get it: /click ExtraActionButton1

Masquerade is part of 颓而不废，堕而不落 - Masquerade storyline.

If he disappears before you can copy his image just relog and he will appear. This is what fixed it for me.

Seemed buggy to me -- there are no error messages when trying to use the masque either directly from your bags, or via the quest UI. You need to be very close, and targeting the person you want to take on the appearance of.

To get the quest item to work you need to be standing nearly on top of Anarys.

Does anyone else find the 'mask' borderline-useless? I am constantly unmasked by random (non-'eyeball') npcs. Unless you have Blink or something like that, I don't see how you can get out of range of their illusion-dispelling cast fast enough.

I've done 6/11 Suramar including tons of horrible death-ridden quests that forced me to go into the city. I never got this line. And First Arcanist guy doesn't offer it now.

After this quest you finally can walk through the Suramar city with no alerting most part of guards. Just use extra butyon - 伪装

Quest chain to Shal'Aran starts at Archmage Khadgar in Dalaran:
魔法信息 - click 奥术畸体 and watch the dialogue
回响轨迹 - click the portal to Suramar. Follow the way, use your quest item 回响轨迹 at the marked areas and click 暗淡的奥术回响s. Kill 伊拉穆斯·月刃 and meet Thalyssra
唯一出路 - follow her and kill/interrupt the attacking on the way (you can ignore the other types of withereds)
夜之子 - click Thalyssra (Video)
魔瘾 - go to the middle of Shal'Aran, kill the and after that. Collect 6 晶化远古魔力
沙尔艾兰 - follow 首席奥术师塔莉萨 to the bridge. You can wait for her upstairs, she doesn't need you on her side while she is exploring the area

(The quest line took around 10-15 min)

Quests to get the 伪装 button (assuming you've done the scenario with 首席奥术师塔莉萨 and explored Shal'Aran):
Accept 旧时盟友 from 首席奥术师塔莉萨.

旧时盟友 - leave Shal'Aran and go to the marked area (/way 30.3 39.5)

16号实验体 - go back to Shal'Aran (/way 34.82 48.0 Entrance)
凯尔丹纳斯的遗产 - leave it again and use your extra action button on 枯法蹒跚者s
夏多雷盟友 - meet Silgryn near 39.2 71.3 (patrols)
面具之下 - follow him to 40.3 71.3 and pick up the 魔法宴会面具 from the table. Use it to get the costume (魔法宴会面具) and talk to the 假面狂欢者s. Take care of 暮色卫队高阶法师. Meet 莉莉丝·月郡 and click the dialogue
同族之血 - inspect the Memorial, summon and defeat Anarys. Click his dialoge option and return to 莉莉丝·月郡
化妆舞会 - use your quest item 镜像面具, turn in and get your 伪装 button

If you are playing a Nightborne race character, you can still use this spell. You just take on the appearance of your friend/parent/sibling... who knows? Maybe you now look like your friend, Shan'alrah.

If Anarys keeps phasing out while you try use the mask, relog. It'll fix it.
