You get this quest from Nana Mudclaw.
Farmer Yoon will accept the offer but since " I don't think I'll have time to work for The Council and run Sunsong Ranch" he will gifting the ranch to you. "You are in charge now"
There is a book inside the house, "Farmer's Journal", acting as an Innkeeper, where you can set up your new Home location.
The option to take over the farm is available to characters that are exalted with the Tillers and have unlocked all 16 farm plots.
Enjoy your new home.

I like that they decided to do it this way instead of just buying the farm. Felt a bit rude to poor Farmer Yoon who I'd grown to like that I would just buy it. Or that he would even agree to part with it given it's been in his family for generations. Now he gives it to you because he's moving on to bigger and better things and doesn't have time to run it anymore.

And plus, now it's free :P

After accepting the Inherit the Earth quest, go ask Farmer Yoon if he will join the Tiller Council. A brief scene will occur:

Farmer Yoon says: Nana Mudclaw asked ME to join the Tillers council?

Farmer Yoon will start to pace up and down the farm, pondering out loud on what to do.

Farmer Yoon says: Just think of all the knowledge I could share. Think of all the food we could grow!
Farmer Yoon says: But... I don't think I'll have time to work for the council, AND run Sunsong Ranch.
Farmer Yoon says: This farm has been in my family for generations. How can I give it up? Yet, a greater responsiblity has fallen on me.
Farmer Yoon says: There's only one solution. I have to join the council. As for the farm...

Farmer Yoon then faces your character.

Farmer Yoon says: <name>, I'm gifting Sunsong Ranch to you. You're in charge, now!
Farmer Yoon says: I'd better head up and talk to Nana. The farm is yours now, <name>. I know you'll take great care of it.

Farmer Yoon departs.

Farmer Yoon will now hang out at the Halfhill Marketplace. He will still give you farming advice and dailies (however, he will not give you the "single crop" dailies anymore).

In Farmer Yoon's old place on Sunsong Ranch, you will find a post with a bill tacked on it. You can get two dailies from it which require you to plant 8 of a certain seed (it will take up all 16 plots of your farm if you decide to take on both orders), and then harvest it the next day. Note that you can actually choose who to plant and harvest crops for each day from a pool of MoP-exclusive factions. You will gain 400 rep with that faction, 800 if you have used the faction-exclusive Commendation. It of course will give more if you have the human racial, Diplomacy, and/or the guild perk, Mr. Popularity.

NOTE: You NEED to accept a quest before you plant seeds for them, otherwise it won't count. You will then have to wait until the next day, or pull them up using the Dented Shovel on your farm and replant the seeds.

What's nice is that when you put the plants into the box next to the road and finish the quest, a generic representative will arrive to pick up the box, thank you, and then depart.

I got really excited when I thought this quest was named for the old 90's PC game "Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb". Then I realized I'm a hopeless nerd and it's probably actually a joke on the Biblical quote, "...and the meek shall inherit the earth" (because, c'mon, -we- are meek?)

Don't know if this is a 5.3 issue or not, but after accepting the quest and coming to Farmer Yoon, he does the RP, leaves the farm and the quest does not update. I've tried leaving with him, staying there, and every option possible, and it still isn't working. I am best friends with every member of the Tillers, and already have Sho on my farm(rogue ftw).

As of 5.3, Nana Mudclaw now sends you an in-game mail to direct you to this quest once you have met the prerequisites (Exalted with Tillers and unlocked the entire farm).

Before, there wasn't anything in-game pointing you to this, you had to already know about it.

After the quest our lazy friend can be found in the center of the Halfhill Market. They should really rename him "Councilman Yoon" now!
I expect he'll be doing as much work for them as he has on his farm :D

Also, who's going to secretly fertilise our crop when we are away? Or was it all just a lie? :(

If you've powered your way to exalted and are finding you cannot take possession of the farm, check a few things before asking Farmer Yoon to join the Tillers.

1. Make sure you are NOT in a raid. (I would never personally make this mistake of course)
2. Make sure you do NOT have any quests that require Farmer Yoon to complete. For example, abandon or complete any "Plant me some X" style quests.

Finally, you do NOT need a farm hand so don't worry about that.

Upon completion of 继承土地, 农夫老愚 will head off to the Council and leave you with a board showing available Work Order Quests. The quests all require you to plant, grow and harvest a specific vegetable for (19g 84s 50c), a 次级好运护符 and 400 reputation with a given faction. These gains are doubled if you have a Grand Commendation with the faction in question.

Additionally, each of the Work Order Quests requires 8 plots of your land to complete.

Consider the opportunity cost of other crops when deciding if the faction gain is really worth the effort.

Don't do this quest, unless you are good with the outcome. You give up the plant this quest, and gain a post on the farm that will always show a daily (I find that annoying). The post quests are not worth doing IMO.

Farmer Yoon says: <name>, I'm gifting Sunsong Ranch to you. You're in charge, now!
Farmer Yoon says: I'd better head up and talk to Nana. The farm is yours now, <name>. I know you'll take great care of it.
Me: But, I don’t want the farm!
Farmer Yoon says: Sorry, the mortgage and the bottomless debt is all yours now. There’s nothing you can do about it. Live with it. Bye!
Farmer Yoon departs.
Me: Hey wait, come back Yoon! - *grumbles*sighs* - damn!
