Hmmmm.... I noticed after completing all the DO achievs that I was still able to fly to Dalaran. I saw this quest in the middle of town to pick up. However, it does not seem I can get him to give me a transport back. Seems to be a long lost dead end quest?

I encountered the same issue.

I think what happened is that this quest was to be offered while in Silvermoon, but never displayed. I tripped upon the "flight to Dalaran" while heading back from doing my dailys, and was taken back to the same instanced version of Dal (including a very angry Jania). When I went to the center of the city, Romath was there and gave me the quest. I accepted it, but there was no option to leave.

On a hunch, I hearthed out and traveled to Silvermoon. When I talked to Lor'themar Theron, he offered to send me back to the wilds. I think some npc coding and how it is mapped out is a little out of wack.

When I finished the previous quest, I couldn't talk to Lor'themar to receive this quest. I then tried to logout/login but he disappeared. lol So I went to the Sunfury Spire, but he didn't give me any quest. I used the Hearthstone to go back to Pandaria and then flew back to Krasarang Wilds.

Gladly, this quest is NOT necessary to continue the chain and you can talk to Nazgrin to receive 圣钟鸣响 quest.
