I finally found a blasting cap killing the Bilgewater Sappers at the quarry north of the beach area. The drop rate seems kinda low, I had to kill 25 before I finally got one.

Can confirm the very low drop rate in patch 5.1 ... took ~ 25 kills for me as well before I got one.

Yes, the Sappers are up in the quarry area (77, 17). I do not know why all the despairing comments about drop rate, though. I aggro'd two of the Sappers and the first one that fell gave the blasting cap.

Want a good laugh at my expense? Today was the first time I got this daily... so in my haste I didn't read the whole thing... just that I had to destroy one of those Demolishers. So I cleared all the trash, then started in on the unit... wow, 7M HP! So I set to work DPSing like crazy. It didn't fight back so I didn't even feel the need to blow my big CDs. Took a while, but eventually it got demolished itself. Quest didn't complete THEN I read what I SHOULD have done.

Then, in one of those way too many small bugs, I see NO sappers anywhere where the map is highlighted in blue. Had to come here to find they were far away in the quarry... after 5 or 6 killed, the blasting cap dropped.

A lot of these dailies have a low drop rate for some reason.

Head to 78, 27 after you loot the blasting cap, dismount and target the one of the demolishers.

I've never had to kill more than a 5-10 of these guys for the blasting cap to drop but today for some reason it took me 41 kills. I don't know if I've been lucky the other half a dozen times I've done this quest or just unlucky today, but there you go.

They upped all the gear drops from raids.. why not increase a few quest item drops as well?
had to kill 22 of them for a drop

SAPPERS ARE NOT IN HIGHLIGHTED QUEST OBJECTIVE AREA!
Drove me crazy killing everything in sight around the demolishers. Then read again and noticed it mentioned the mines or quarry or something set of a light and I remembered the little fockers were at the quarry site. My excitement to have finally figured that out was short-lived as the drop rate (for me) was terrible! Had to kill 21 of the sucky sappers to get the drop. Anyway eventually demolished the demolisher. Down with the HORDE!
