NOTE: Since I play a boomkin, this advice is only applicable for ranged characters!

I might be alone in this but when I'm doing my dailies, I hate getting hit on by things I'm not interested in fighting at the same time. With the new patch 5.1 (Landfall) Alliance dailies, there's a few things to be done underground but trying to be the first to tap the 灵魂陷阱 can be difficult and annoying. My solution is to go to a small cave at the top left corner of your map (once underground) at co-ords 38.00 15.00 which places you at the back of a small cave which is partially underwater. At this spot you can stand on a rock and wait for the Spirit Trap to spawn at the entrance of the small cave.
Once it's up, you can safely attack from your position but the best thing is, the 哀嚎幽灵 that spawn don't attack you because it seems like they don't like getting their feet wet however they do provide 20 reputation with 黑王子 if you kill them up until revered. Also, the 缚魂奥术师 don't bother you either because you're too far away from their patrol route. The Spirit Trap seems to spawn every 2 1/2 mins for me so just take your time, and you can finish this quest very easily.

When the Spirit Traps are attacked from a ranged distance (40 yards or so) the adds that it spawns will not aggro you.

the dead ones still sparkle causing a bit of confusion. the live ones are floating above the ground, dead ones touch the ground.

As a feral druid, I hit Heart of the Wild whilst standing in the water and spammed Wrath for 30 seconds which downed it easily. There may be a better solution than waiting out a six minute cooldown but after three deaths, I am very happy to kill a few mobs whilst waiting.

I've lost count of the number of times I've died trying to complete this quest, as well as the rest of them in this area.

As a Frost DK, its hard to solo this. I've tried switching to Unholy to get my ghoul, but it doesn't really help. I'll wait a bit I guess and hope the Blizz makes it a little easier :/

This quest is terrible. I found as an arms warrior I could do it with Sweeping strikes alternating between the Spirit and the adds so that victory rush could proc. Terrible.

Based on phazed's advice above, I figured out a similarly convenient way on my ret pala:

I used Overgrown Lilypad (drops from the rare jinyu mob Sele'na in Valley of the Four Winds), which granted me Wrath. This way, I could attack the Spirit Trap from a safe range, without aggroing the spawning spirits. (Exorcism, Judgment and Hammer of Wrath can also be used from this distance, adding extra damage.)

Super irritating as a subtle rogue. The crystals move like a normal mob, meaning you need a stun to backstab, although even after realizing this I still couldn't drop the mob.

Easy enough on a shadow priest. Start by attacking the spirit trap with your mindbender. Spawning spirits will attack your mindbender no you. Of course, keep your shield up at all times. When your mindbender is gone and you are under attack fear them and finish burning down the spirit trap. Once you kill it shadowmeld to remove any agro from feared mobs. Good luck! Should be quick and easy if you stay on the task of burning down the trap and keeping the spirits busy with mindbender and one fear.

As a combat rogue I found it too difficult to do the usual way... Ended up "Throw"ing my way through the 1.18m or so HP the traps have at a comfortable pace away, so that the spirits didn't attack me... Hell of a quest...

As a combat rogue, I used 枯萎的睡莲, which gave me . That boost was enough to easily down the trap and the adds.

Piece of cake if you do ranged damage. Rogue can use blade fury. Pally has a AOE with a short cooldown. Not sure about Warrior, sweeping strikes has a long cooldown.

Thank you so much for these tips. I died a few times before coming here for help (my bad) and I was not disappointed. This quest may be slow to do, but it is now doable for me (w/o running back from the g/y constantly). Also picked up the octopus for Nat Pagle while waiting.

If you have nothing better to do than die multiple times and make up new curse words, this is the perfect quest! Props to the tips about standing in water pools to finish off the traps. My Worgen Lock had to return the second day to finish up but it worked.
