If you're doing this when you're 90 and have flying, don't bother waiting for the stealth. You can fly right up to the cave entrance and plant the explosives. You'll have to stay on the ground until it blows up, but the explosion won't dismount you and you can fly off after.

I'm not sure if this quest is an important step in any chain, but for now im keeping it because i am making a fortune staying stealthed near the cave and pickpocketing the 90 elites that stream past.

Lao is on the right side of the opening down the path, if you're facing it. I tried putting the explosives down myself, but you need to speak to him first, if, like I, you tend to not read the quests thoroughly, I hope this helps. =)

Update: As of Oct 4, 2012 this has been hotfixed. Lao is at 33,22 and is easy to find now.

~~As of Oct 3, 2012 this quest is still bugged. Lao seems to be lost in phasing. I flew around with a targeting macro and he just isn't there. Confirmed by many others on the official forums.~~

Patrol time at cave mouth 27 seconds. (for the same guy to walk to the same spot)

total mobs in a patrol: 6

counts as a pickpocket every 4.5 sec if you're perfect.
(set loot window to be NOT at mouse cursor)

Someone please figure out the gold per hour, what with the book drops, junkboxes, and seemingly 50 silver average drop.

It worked for me, in the opposite way.
I planted the explosions at the cave entrens - waited for it to blow.
THEN I talked to LAO, and it was completed, though he wanted to go up and blow the explosions :) I could just leave :) Complete

Find Lao Softfoot @ 33.77 22.62 he will walk you stealthed to lay Explosive keg @ 27.55 15.19

Warning to the Warlocks out there. As of a couple days ago (October 1st 2012) any Wild Imps (Demonology) you have out will not be stealthed with Lao, and they will be spotted and put you into combat (breaking your stealth) with however many elites there are when you are spotted.

Easy way: Talk to guy, fly/stealth/teleport up to spot. Wait for gap and plant explosives, they blow up on next pat coming out.

Dismiss your pet first before following in the shadow. My bear was slow and unstealthed himself by not staying in the circle, causing the 90 elites to aggro and chop me up right along with SweetCheeks the bear.

I seem to have a problem with this quest.
I accidentally dropped it (my friend was in another phase, and i thought this one was causing it)
And now the questgiver is gone
Any ideas?

If you're playing a lock or a hunter, you will need to dismiss your minion or pet before starting this quest. Putting them on passive isn't enough; they will still break stealth, and you'll wind up getting chased down the hill by six or eight elite guards. Not fun!

Died or Abandoned this Quest?

I did the same thing.

You can find Kun Autumnlight at the Runis of Guo-Lai directly west of the Golden Pagoda and Northwest of Whitepetal Lake at 33.54, 38.36 to get the quest again.

If while following him camouflaged, you accept a cross realm group invite it will phase you out of the quest, but the mobs will still be there and will attack you. So watch out this happened to me.

When you turn in the quest, it says "You and He have" blah blah blah. Of course, Lao's brother is named He, so either they changed the npc at some point or Lao is now a deity.

First talk to Lao Softfoot and then plant the Explosive Keg. If you first plant it, you end up with a blocked cave entrance and you can't plant the Explosive Keg.

Follow Lao but stay in his the white aura to be unrecognized by the enemies.

Dear hunters,
Do NOT leave your pet out for this quest. Dismiss it first, even if it's a cat that can stealth. The adds you have to pass attack your pet, and if you dismiss it in combat you have at least 3 elites on you. If you end up pulling their aggro, use 假死 to lose it, and then quickly catch up to Lao Softfoot.

Put a target marker on yourself. It makes it easier to stay in his ring while you're invisible.

I had to turn this in to Kun Autumnlight at 33,38 (to the right of the "Ruins of Guo-Lai" text on the world map) because he wasn't at the Golden Pagoda for me

if you cannot find the end of quest and the question mark shows no one there, go to 33,38 the quest giver is there

I just did this slightly out of order. If you happen to plant the Explosives first, then talk to Lao, you can still complete this. I waited until Lao spawned at the cave entrance and then returned back to complete the quest. I was afraid that I bugged it out.
