Still bugged on Spirestone. Now we can't get our Treasure's of the Vale until they fix it, so much for working our butts off farming Hozen Peace Pipes to get ahead of everyone else. Now they will just catch up until blizzard gets enough complaints that the quests are bugged. /sigh.

This worked for me yesterday on Moonglade EU, but got the same quest today and appears to be bugged, standing in the ring and nothing is happening.

Be a polite player if other people are there with you and dont aoe spam as youll gather all the trainees leaving them to wait until you are done.

No longer bugged however as a hunter I found that if my pet landed the killing blow I did not get credit, so put your pets on passive for this one, or just be sure that you get the killing blow

I encountered this today and discovered that the in-game quest helper will direct you to the area at 19 , 67.9 where the Shado-Pan Trainers run around. In fact, the actual ring is in the opposite direction at 19.6 , 74.3
If the ring you find has Shado-Pan Trainers instead of Shadow-Pan Trainees, you are in the wrong area.

Not sure why nobody has mentioned this but if you just run around the outer edge of the circle (with an occasional sidestep) the hardest part of this quest is avoiding the morons running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I had to abandon this quest 5 times to get credit for the achievement because of some huntard that kept running into me & getting me blasted. Once he was gone it was no problem.

So, I found the quickest way to deal with this quest is to have the G91 Landshark, G91地雷

You get them from engineers or in my case, Blingtron. These nasty little cousins of sharks with lasers deal a whopping 37,500 damage in one hit. Just stand there and let them come to you and beat on you, by the time you can do this quest, you should have decent armor, they only do minor damage anyway.

When you have them all around you, lay down an AoE and then the landshark, it will decimate them all in nearly one shot and your AoE should be good enough to pick up the rest of the health in just a couple seconds.

Now, before you say "but what about other people?", there is an achievement tied to this to defeat 10 of them in 10 seconds, so you may as well do it anyway and get the achievement. Plus, it's funny to watch the entire group get blasted like fishing by dropping dynamite in water :P

Stand in the exact middle of the training area at coordinates 19,74.
Wait a second for a Shado-Pan Trainee to automatically start combat.
Wait every couple seconds for another Shado-Pan Trainee to fight.

If you're a warrior like me and thinks that it's a good idea to just wait until you got multiple trainees on you and then use 巨龙怒吼 to insta-"kill" them, it won't work. You'll just waste time by doing it.

You do the achievement Dog Pile on this quest - just get 10 or more of them in the middle attacking you, then AOE them down, easy peasy.

The way the trainees pile into the fray and the way you punt them straight back out again kinda reminded me of the Neo vs multiple Agent Smiths fight in the 2nd Matrix movie. (puts on sunglasses)

I've tried this quest several times on my hunter and I must say, it's the hardest quest I've done in this game. The mount trick does not work anymore.

did it today demo warlock just kept hellfire active hit felstorm when up and healed using drainlife/harvest life when hellfire dropped health down a bit easy as pie

I accepted the quest today and no trainees appeared in the ring (I've done this quest 5-6 times before)?

followup: I also had the quest "The Mogu's Message" in my quest log. This starts a 4 quest string with The Might of Three and The Final Power. Apparently most npc's in the Vale are gone (phased out) during this quest string. I just came back to Setting Sun Garrison and things look more normal.

As a frost mage, this is stupidly easy.

Just run to the middle and keep casting blizzard, centered on yourself, until all 20 have been "defeated."

As a Hunter you can basically just stand there and let your pet one shot each trainee as they run in.
