Something to note - as of right now if you kill him and you still have the flaming arrow debuff on you, there is no way to remove it that I could find and you'll just have to die to lose it.

If you, like me, didn't read the quest info good enough he's down in the halls. So don't spend 10 minutes above the halls waiting for him to spawn.

There would seem to be a phasing issue with this. Cause the moment i enter the halls, the runes and mobs disappear. Tested this by pulling 2 other mobs outside of the halls, moment i enter, they despawn. GG blizz GG

It also helps if someone else in party who has not yet reached revered kills whatever is inside the halls, you will still complete the quest.

As soon as you hit Revered with Golden Lotus, a new quest line spawns for you; this causes certain parts of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms go into a different phase and has the unfortunate side effect of making the target mob for this quest completely unreachable.

The only way to correct this issue is to return to the Golden Pagoda (the place underneath the big panda statues with crossed spears where you always start the daily quests for this zone) and complete the newly spawned line that starts with this quest:

雷电之王的战矛

Once this line is completed, the zone will return to normal phasing and you will once again be able to complete this quest.

This is as of patch 5.0.5; the issue may be patched by the time you read this comment and this workaround may no longer be applicable.

For me he spawned to the north (still underground) of where the quest marks that he will spawn. He spawns where the pool is (nice in case you get the debuff). This is also where the giant spider spawns from.

If you're trying to use /tar to find this bonehead (or if you want to see his abilities on wowhead), his 'real' name is Gochao the Ironfist.

...or possibly the one I found was. Now I'm not sure. He didn't have the flaming arrow ability mentioned below.
(Edit) Yeah, different guys. First I ran across was Gochao above, second was the one everyone seemed to be talking about,
Huo-Shuang.

I just slew this guy three times FOR ^&*!S SAKE! First time as myself, then 2 more times as people got and completed the quest line.

I just completed this quest - very easy. I found Huo-Shuang in the Ritual Chamber off to the right side from the main chamber. The chamber to the left was closed & I was unable to open the doors. I just fought him like normal & when he cast his Flaming Arrow I jumped into the pool of water (as suggested above), so make sure you fight him close to the water! Enjoy. I'm a level 90 Pandaren Windwalker Monk iLevel 455, Honored with Golden Lotus.

Okay, after he cast the arrow, my warrior jumped into the water, but I was still unable to beat him. So what's next? Wait him out? Fight him from the water? Can anyone help this dumb ol warrior?
