I experienced a different completion text post 4.1, when they replaced They Call Him Swiftdagger. He Kills Harpies. with The Short Way Home.

Post 4.1, Nagla comments that he heard you screaming from your rocket ride as you flew overhead while doing that quest.

End of the quest seems buggy.
Where Balgor gets kidnapped multiple versions of him hang around, doing various things. (laying down, standing, floating and being choking, etc.)

If you're doing this quest with a friend, you'll both get credit even if just one of you talks to the guy and hops on the kodo. Just make sure you're following closely.

first attempt - got murdered by savannah huntress while en route
second attempt - jumped off caravan to kill savannah huntress, caravan despawned

Real nice of the quest to not make you immune to damage from any wandering hostile mobs that are in the way. They don't drop aggro while you're riding and will kill you before you even make it to your destination (unless you hop off).
