Easy 7000+ quest - just hit each one at lest once in each section - then punch the wall and do the same again in that area - until you go through a wall and Deathwing stands there - so hit him - quest complete.

I wish there were more quests like this. A little lore, + drunk, exaggerating NPC's, + the ability to replay their story in a phased environment, + humor (including self-referential humor) = awesome.

Also, I got to see Deathwing in his human aspect which was rather interesting, honestly

A word of advice for everyone.

Don't finish this quest, save it for later.

For when your raid guild/group comes to face Deathwing in a raid and wipe time and time again, you'll have something to vent your anger upon.

"You made me lose over nine thousand gold on repairs, you stupid dragon! TAKE THAT!"

I must be the only one having trouble with this quest. I can't get through the first part without seeming to lose 10% of my health with each punch, getting annoyingly turned around each time I punch through a wall and ending up with 6 or more elementals on me at the same time and dying as a result.

I did this on my resto shaman alt, when the quest was done the sky was bright red and there were flames all over the ground.

All I said was. "Holy crap! THIS is the day that Deathing came!"
And I didn't get the achievement. :(

What you're supposed to do: get through the entire scar by punching elementals in your way and breaking the walls by punching them too. At the end you'll get to deathwing, then punch him too. Hilarious!

One thing I noticed whilst doing this quest in a group of three people (2 level 47's and one 85, which, by the way looked ridiculous with three dwarves punching Deathwing in the face).

Is that, the amount of health you have as the dwarf differs depending on the level you are. The two level 47's had only 1999 HP, and the level 85 had 6141.

Oh, and the level 85 barely didn't aggro any Dang Blasted Rock Elemental due to his level.

Quite interesting, I must say.

Interestingly enough, with the advent of Mists of Pandaria you will be able to start a Dwarf Monk, join a Dragon Soul raid and truly and honestly punch that dragon in the face. Repeatedly. And lethally.

In case you're like me and tend to skip cinematics, don't. The quests take place during the cinematics and if you skip them you'll end up wandering around in the valley like an idiot.

I had a pretty tough time with this quest this last time through. I know I've done this one several times with different toons and don't remember having this much trouble ever before.

Part of the time when I'd punch an elemental, my toon would start spinning in circles, almost as if the right or left key was stuck or something. This would result in being turned around, suddenly while running, which was beyond frustrating. If I wasn't running, my guy would literally spin in a circle until I made him do something else. Also, when you punch the elementals, you will kind of jump forward and punch at the same time, so if you are too close, you might just jump through the elemental and not hit with the punch, which can also be frustrating if there are several of them going aggro on you.

The first few sections aren't too bad and if you take your time you should be able to stay to the side and punch out the few elementals before they hit you. The only way that I found to get through the last two sections is to RUN, as fast as you can, break down the walls, and try to get to Deathwing before the elementals get you. The hardest thing about the last part is staying moving in the right direction because you'll get turned around many times. Something like WowPro or TomTom could be useful to keep track of which way you want to be going.

I also turned off all my add-ons after having tons of trouble with getting turned around and I swear there was one time it just wouldn't let me through the last wall. Turning off extensions might have helped a little, I'm not too sure of that though because I still had the turning around issues even with no add-ons active.

I hope this helps somebody. Many people don't seem to have these problems, but it seems that I am not the only one who has experienced this, so this is my advice to you.

This quest was basically impossible until I took it really slowly, and even then I was 1 or 2 shots away from dying right before I punched Deathwing in the face.

Problems:
- Every time I punch rocks, Theldurin just turns around.
- Half the time, Theldurin doesn't successfully punch the elementals. He just jumps through them and takes a ton of damage on the way.

Solutions:
- Extreme caution and slow progress. In the first few sections, I killed every elemental. They respawn really soon, so get through the rocks as soon as possible.
- In the last 2 sections, run, try to get through the rocks without getting turned around, pray you hit a one in a hundred streak of luck, and punch Deathwing in the face.

It seems to have been fixed. The punches take out the elementals and blast through the walls with no problem. Work your way down taking care to avoid as many elementals as possible with the limited health. Do not clear out each section as suggested in previous comments as this will expend all your power.

In this quest, you need to wait through the cinematic in order to start it. I tried skipping it and it didn’t let me continue.

Run up the left side, you can jump over or around the end of most of the walls and avoid most of the elementals. This way you can reach Deathwing with almost full health.

I had not done this in some time, and found the 1st of the 3 to be quite annoying.

Key: As someone said above: stay either left or right, high on the wall.

Other tips that made it easy... the 3rd time:
- Keep the mob that is going to agro to you targeted, I found tab targeting not workable.
- Your fist ability has longer range than the elemental attack, and you can one-shot them most of the time. They can't hurt you if they are dead.
- Your fist ability includes a "super jump"... use it with no target or an out-of-range target to travel higher on the wall than you can by running/jumping normally.

I'm missing something really obvious here. I killed a couple of rock elementals, and avoided a guy called Moltanus who is 3x stronger than me and kills me instantly - but no sign of Deathwing anywhere. What am I doing wrong?

Please note, quest doesn't start when skipping cinematic!
I skipped it and couldnt find any mob, go back to the questgiver and let him tell the story again and don't skip it!

The Badlands of Khaz Modan was reworked for Cataclysm and now contains an epic quest chain along with a very humorous side quest chain.

The Rhea quest chain, if a further incentive is required, contains a cinematic at its conclusion. It is not to be missed.

The quest chain commences with 撼动军心. Players need only fly directly to the top of Fuselight to pick up the quest. 事情不顺的时候，就使诈 will also be offered but can be ignored.

Several quests prior to that are offered, including faction city noticeboards and a fun rocket flight from the Eastern Plaguelands 熔光镇，走着！. They are unnecessary.

While flying around the optional 矮人的需求 (A) and 低能者协会 (H) are available and can be ignored if you are in a hurry. Anyhow, you will be taken to the locations where these quests are offered if you progress in the Rhea quest chain.

进入灭世者之痕 will be offered as you fly around. This is optional and functions merely to to get you to the location of 迷失者塞尔杜林 at location 26.2, 62.3, who offers 死亡之翼降临之日. This is a very funny quest chain and not to be missed. A great counterpoint to the epic Rhea saga.

Modern day Theldurin seems to be quite a bit more squishy than he was back when Deathwing first came. What used to be a faceroll quest now requires a teeny bit of strategy.

Instead of barreling through you should slowly pick off the elementals one at a time. Run up until you get aggro and then while running backward spam your punch attack. If you pull multiple mobs just use targeting while continuing to back up.

You can't escape out of the cinematic as it's part of the quest. If you cant climb over the rock wall, just punch it and it will fall down.
