THIS GUY IS FREAKING CRAZY!

So far out of the quest ive done in cataclysm this is by far the best. (Ive only done like 30 so far so yea)

Also the first damsiel you just get the crate from the lake for the male blood elf.

The second damsiel he pushes off a cliff and your supposed to "catch" her and well yea you know how that ends.

Finally you save the last damsiel from a phenix (sp) and yea I feel bad now.

He is definitely nuts. Be careful, he tends to aggro elite 'dragons' that are normally neutral.

I feel sorry for that male blood elf who lost his crate in the hot spring xD First being mistaken for a woman and his crate as a purse. Yet I can't help laughing at it all.

Oh, and some people on my server had some trouble knowing how to complete the quest. All you need to do is ride up to the damsel and then Maximillian will take care of it (mostly). He can however be kind of slow sometimes. I've had to wait for a while before he reacted to the maiden before, so if he doesn't do anything, just wait.

Second is at the Western Crystal Pylon - 23.50
Third is at the path to Silithus - 28.21

Never have I laughed so much during a quest in my 6 years of playing this game. Major kudos to Blizzard's quest design team, this one was a blast.

Quest is currently bugged. The damsel on the cliff never gets flung, and Maximillian runs down to talk to nothing. The damsel at the lake wouldn't accept the belongings if I grabbed them before Max instructed me to do so, and I would lose credit for that part if I removed the belongings from MY backpack. The damsel up north never said anything, just stood there frozen.

Dropping the quest and picking it up again did not fix the problem. Neither did logging out and back in.

If you're questing in a group, be aware that the damsels do despawn and you'll have to wait a while - credit isn't shared.

This is a reference to Don Quixote. As is portrayed by both the craziness and the fact Don Quixote's first challenge was a Knights-errant. Which would explain why Max's title is Knights-errant

You cannot complete quest if he is not with you. I lost him on my way up to the Damsel in the north and nothing happens when he isnt there. So had to go back and get him and it worked fine.

Folks,

For the "maiden" on the shore, Maximillian kept repeating the same thing over and over again. I finally realized that talking to the "maiden" completed that portion for me. :)

Just finished this quest, this guy is nuts! I was at the one where he pushes a damsel off the cliff. And I'm like if I'm standing here and your standing here, who's to catch the falling lady. Opps.

For the damsel of the cliff, if you head due west from where you get the quest you'll see a blue pylon she's right next to that. For the Damsel of the North, head straight north till you come to the end of the river and there will be a path heading into the mountans thats where to look. Hope this helps.

Oh and one last thing, if you do the rest of the dragon quest, he will pull elites so becareful. To dismiss him tell him you'll adventure alone.

Damsel on the shore doesnt trigger the NPC. Been trying for half an hour. Abandones 3 times. Still nothing happens.

This quest doesn't work if you're in a party. My husband and I were partied, his Maximillian did all the work and his three damsels were 'complete'. What I could see on my monitor, my Maximillian npc stayed mounted for all three damsels and never had any text popup above his head, even after staying there for a couple minutes after my husband's Maximillian did his thing. We had to unparty, then I could run up to the three damsels for my Maximillian to do his thing and finally complete the quest.

In order for Max to "save" the damsel on the cliff, I had to ride down there first. Then Max joins me and explains it's my fault she is lying there, dead. Thanks, Max. The Damsel by the lake didn't complete because I claimed the purse... um.. crate before Max said to. But after he killed the Phoenix, the quest completed. On to our next adventure! He's fun! The spirits he communes with beat on me while he prayed to it. He entreats it to "stop buffeting my squire with punches and kicks". Oh, and his Pinto ponyis named Pimento! Be sure to remember where is his camp 30.51 between the two hot springs) because you will meet him there for the final quest: Killing the Brood Mother, the Devilsaur Queen

Hilarious! If Max doesn't show up for you, abandon the quest and reacquire. His camp is in Golakka Springs on the west side of un'goro.

I lost Max - only way to get him back - have to go back to his original location & speak to him again. Adding this as no one here posted what I originally was looking for, how to recall him. Don't get rid of him if one is trying to speed through the quest chain. Coordinates 30, 51 were pretty much correct.

Quest is still extraordinarily buggy.

To get the damsel on the cliff to work, I had to stand up there WITH Maximilian for about 5 minutes until he decided to trigger the dialogue. Even then, the damsel was frozen looking away and was not thrown. Nevertheless, Maximilian continued the quest and I received credit.

The blood elf damsel also bugged out but was fixed by simply standing around until the dialogue restarted, deleting the purse and trying again.

Good idea but terrible execution.

If you are riding with Maximillian of Northshire and you change talents, he will disappear from your side and you will have to return to his camp to gain his company again.

Some practical advice:

* Make sure Max stays with you and doesn't do the NPC wander-off (he's slower to rejoin you) and you don't have to wait at the damsels as some people have had to.

* You can "adventure alone" killing the "dragons" but not for the damsels.

* You can get the Damsel by the Shore's uh, purse without Max, but it won't complete unless he's with you. Note that besides getting distracted by dragons, if you have to re-acquire Max and go by the shore damsel's route, he will stop and save her *again*. (Said purse is sparkling again but you can't pick it up if you already have it (duh), but he'll continue on after he says his piece to his wholly imaginary second squire.)

* If you logout in the middle of this quest, you need to go get Max again.

* Damsel of the North wanders up and down the path to Silithus for a short way, but her green nameplate is visible even from the pylons.

This quest still bugged.
Damsel in the Cliffs and Damsel of the North still didnt response anything.
Just abandon the quest. You probably have different quests for Un'Goro Crater Quests.

Omg, i never laughed so much making a quest as this one. People above forgot to mention the last part when Maxmillian prays for "light spirits" and receives their blessing, actually you must be in defense and get attacked by steam monsters. But the cherry-of-the-icecream was when Maxmillian challenges The Great Dragon (actually a Elite T-Rex level 56) and realizes it got so furious that initiates a crazy escape taking you with him in the same horse (ROFL!), being the unique weapon stones. Serious. You must kill a Elite T-Rex throwing stones in its face! Btw, it didn't really work as expected, so Maxmillian began to take his armor pieces and give them to you one-by-one (shield, helmet, etc.) during the escape. Finally when you kill the T-Rex, Maxmillian is almost naked. You cannot lose this. It is a must-do quest, indeed.

The "damsel" by the shore ( a male blood elf) is on the south west shore of the largest golakka's hotspring where you get the quest

The damsel of the north is walking up and down the path to Silithus in the northwest of Un'goro crater.

The damsel in the cliffs is on the very west next to the western crystal pylon.

Maxmillian's madness is indeed contagious. In saving the Damsel of the Cliffs, I thought he was talking to the Pylon in the area and kept clicking that in hopes of preventing its imminent collapse.

Also, poor Squawky.

I did this quest today. It took about 30-40 seconds for Maximillian to start talking with Damsel in the Cliffs, so you may need to wait a bit.

My frustration is with how easy it is to lose Maximillian. I wish Blizzard would give you some kind of summoning item or buff to use so that you don't have to backtrack if you two get separated. It's just an an annoying and unnecessary aspect of the quest that can and should get fixed.

FYI, when doing 落难的少女, don't fly off or go too far, or you will lose Maximillian. IF. you lose Maximillian, just abandon the quest and take it again.

If the Damsel by the Shore has not respawned by the time you get there (several others were doing this quest when I was), DO NOT pick up the crate from the water. If you do, you will not get credit for collecting the crate once Max starts interacting with the Damsel by the Shore, and if you destroy the item in you inventory in order to collect the crate again, it will delete the quest. Only pick up the crate AFTER Max has started speaking with the Blood Elf and states that his squire will retrieve the crate/purse, then speak to the Damsel to hand the item over.

Also, make sure you're not in a group. Max does not seem to interact with any of the Damsels if you are in a group.
