Someone found at least one. Here's a link to the page with the info:
And here's the screenshots he had:
So far, that's all I know.
That is a spirit beast.
Its name is “Loque’nahak” and it is found in Sholazar Basin, Southwest of Nesingwary Base Camp.
Been tamed on the beta. It is a rare spawn so far.
Full coverage by Mania.
I smell Grimtotem spirit guide coming back... oh please!
As I understand i have to be 76 (not 75 or 74) to tame it. Am i right?
Nah, this guy isn't undead. The spirit guides aren't actually undead (hence them being classed as beasts) but they share the same model as some undead - e.g. the wolves in SFK. So they LOOKED too undead.
Anyway, I got mine today. Booyah. Found him just north of Maker's Perch at ... or more accurately, the two people I was paying 1000g each to help me find him found him. Tagged him for me and tried to kite him around until I got there - the warrior had too much threat so I couldn't tame. I had to let her die... :( Still, I imagine the thousand gold would've helped pay for the repairs. Then I tamed him - he's got very nice DPS, I tested him out on the dummies. He does about 10-15% less than the devilsaur, but that'd be nicely increased once Spirit Strike is fixed.
this is not an elemental its a beast
I abosulutely have to get one on my hunter when he hits 76 =)
I've been sitting here for a couple of hours now waiting for this beast to spawn but I was wondering since its a
beast can i track it?
I recently tamed Loque and was wondering if anyone knows if you lose your exotic pet as soon as you pay to unlearn talents. I want to stay beast master but want to try tweeking some points in my trees to help my dps. I would imagine that as soon as you are no longer speced into the exotic pets it would disappear but was wondering if someone knows from experience?
A new Spirit Beast has been found on the 3.1 Public Test Realms.
His name is Gondria: he is a Spirit Beast in family, he is Exotic and uses the Ferocity tree, he is a rare elite, he knows Spirit Strike, he looks a bit like a cat — and he doesn’t look anything like Loque’nahak.
And no, I didn’t find him. :> BRK posted about Gondria early this morning (and gave me a head’s up around the same time), but I was deep asleep.
It looks like Gondria was found by Wowhead user flatty and first reported there. You can check out all the info yourself on the Wowhead forum thread — including a map of the only spawn point we know so far.
(My thanks also to all the readers who e-mailed me to make certain I’d heard about this new find!)
Quoted from Petopia.
they should be Elemental but i think they are the best pets in the game beside spiders in PvP
what is the difference between the two spirit beasts do they just look different or do they have different abilities?
hi does anyone know if gondria and loque nahak have the same abilities or do they have different abilities?
ok does any1 know what the respwn time is for it?
The next patch 3.2 will host a new spirit beast calles Skoll.. A wolf! not only that but it also has a wicked glow effect around his body!
It appears that blizzard is adding one spirit beast each patch (yet I am not sure so don't get your hopes up) and as they are starting with the most common pets used (Cat and Wolf) we might see a Bear and Boar appear in the patches after 3.2! And probably all spirit beast are going to be Rare.
But for now enjoy hunting the other beasts.
Hey anyone know when wowhead will put in Skoll And i would like to find out where i can get a NPC tracker?
New Spirit beast in 3.2!..
Skin: Blue wolf with lightning effects.
Hostile: Yellow for both ally and horde.
Location: Storm peaks
Amount of spawn places: 3 known so far.
I can confirm that the Spirit beast named Skoll does not share respawn time with Vyragosa and by that not with
( Time lost proto drake ) neither.
Vyragosa killed and found: 14:56
Skoll found and tamed: 17:42
Both is realm time..
Skoll ( w Bestial wrath )
Skoll (w/o Bestial wrath )
Download the addon:
Reason: This addon will give you a raid warning and a achievment lookin bar with the portrait of the mob when its around you, this means you do not have to spam a macro or anything to target it, you can stay afk, and when the rare is within range of your characters sight, you get a warning and a sound will be played ( loud )..
It may be more, but these is the 3 known ones and confirmed a found.
But: Me and my friend found both at same places, above Brunnhildar village.
Feel free to ask in game for tips

Happy hunting !
Snow drift plains cave spawn point at 3am Sever time.
I've seen over 20 posts saying the same thing. Also is how I got my beasty. Try your luck. Could work for you as well.
Taming an animal is not the same thing as taming an elemental... You can't tame the essence of nature.
Ever heard of a Shaman?
What's next? A bear? Hmm... That actually wouldn't be a bad idea...
Or a crab :)
Anyone else find it odd that all 3 tameable spirit beasts are infact neutral mobs?
The Bear is called Arcturus, level 74 and found in Grizzly Hills. No idea on exact locations though or spawn rates.
Quite confusing if you think about it, it is a bear but is actually a Ferocity pet lol....
Any news on the Spirit Beast Bear they just released? I saw a Nelf Hunter in Dalaran with one, and I was looking to see where to tame it.
I saw a Spectral Bear before? O.o Why can't I find it anywhere...
Arcturis is on the slope IMMEDIATELY north of amberpine lodge in grizzly hills
a spirit devilsaur would be awesome
Hey, just to let you know, I am currently a BM hunter at level 69 now, and I dont know about you guys, but my cunning pets do way more dps than ferocity pets now due to the Wolverine Bite cunning pets can now get. In randoms with some buffs, (like kings on me and might on my pet) on a boss i can pull around 1400 dps, and normally around 52-59% of my dps is my pet. I tested out a couple of cunning pets, and the ones that seem to the most damage is the Nether Ray, and its strange because its CD on its ability is 28 seconds. Strangely enough my Sporebat is one of my highest DPS pets, then followed by the Chimaera and then my raptor (which is my backup pet if the boss does alot of damage to pets.)
So I guess since the change on Wolverine Bite, I see cunning pets the #1 on dps again, but ferocity not much behind.
I got an idea
You build a MM or Survival hunter, then, if u want to tame this beasts, reset the talents and build BM, tame it, and then reset again to MM or Survival.
Then you have your spirit beast without having a BM build.
Tell me your opinion about this.
How come I saw in BG a hunter lvl 24 with a spirit beast? any explanation?
How can i find esely a spiret biest ?
Posting about the ghost crab since WoWhead currently doesn’t have a page for him.
The mob is named
, he is a neutral level 85 elite.
He wanders around the Abandoned Reef in the Abyssal Depths (the area just south of L'ghorek.)
He phases as he wanders, so if he vanishes on you, just wait and he’ll pop back up.
Keep track beasts on. There are no other beasts in the area, so he will be the only dot that shows up.
He has an ability called “Nerfbat” (I’m not kidding) that reduces your stats and was deals damage every couple seconds.
Traps do not work on him.
Make sure you’re at full health when you begin the tame. I had no issues taming him with a 101k health pool, I think he had me down to 30k by the end of the tame.
At the time of posting, he does not ping on silver dragon and I am not sure what his NPCscan code is. I found him with a simple /target ghostcrawler macro.
In my opinion, from easiest to hardest to FIND:
1. Ghostcrawler -- spawns out in the middle of nowhere. No mobs, no nothing, rarely even other hunters camping him. Shows up like a light bulb on track beasts. Restealth can be annoying, but he has a predictable path. Seems to be a reasonable respawn.
2. Arcturis -- easy in that he has only one spawn point which he doesn't wander far from, so he's easily campable. The difficulty here is endurance -- he seems to have one of the more onerous spawn timers of the spirit beasts, and since it's easy you might have competition from other hunters camping him. Also the lowest level spirit beast so lower level hunters are additional competition. Near a couple of quest hubs which means he might get accidentally killed.
3. Skoll -- Storm Peaks is absolutely empty these days, so there's very little chance he will be found by somebody other than a hunter, or a TLPD camper. Minimal spawn points that are relatively close together.
4. Gondria -- close in difficulty to Skoll, but a few more spawn points that are a little more spread out. Zul'Drak isn't a hotbed of activity these days but probably a little more active than SP.
5. Karoma -- quite a few spawn points, which makes it more difficult to camp, but overcrowdedness is the real issue; Karoma spawns are primarily in populated parts of a currently very populated zone. This really ups the chance that she will be noticed right away (or accidentally/maliciously killed). Also, since the rare skin cat Sambas spawns in the same zone, TH will be well-camped by hunters for the duration of Cataclysm. Because of the overpopulation, arguably the hardest, although I still think just a bit harder is:
6. Loque -- A zillion spawn points that are all over the place. Makes him very, very difficult to camp. Sholazar remains one of the more populated Wrath zones with ore/herb farmers and high 70s players grinding to 80. Loque is also part of the Northern Exposure achievement, so even non-malicious nonhunters will also benefit from killing him.
There's some luck involved, so even if a certain find was easier for you it might not be easier in general -- for example, I tamed Karoma and completely lucked into it with almost no effort, but I recognize it's probably a very difficult tame for most people.
The only one that is somewhat hard to TAME as in the actual act of converting it to your pet after finding it is Ghostcrawler. You need to be 85 and have a decent health pool because Nerfbat really hurts -- as others have mentioned he can easily chew through 60k+ health during a tame and is not trappable. The other thing that makes him difficult is that he can disappear mid-tame and pop up again somewhere else on his path. Aside from GC, all the other spirit beasts are pretty straightforward tames -- trap, tame beast, none of them hit all that hard.
Best time to tame Spirit Beasts is IN THE MORNING. Just a helpful tip.
I just got Ghostcrawler, Skoll, Karoma, and Sambas (the lion) within 30 minutes.
My ratings from easiest to hardest to tame -
1. Ghostcrawler (wonders in the Abyssal Depths, no one is down there, just make a macro to target)
2. Arcturis (pretty much one spawn point, just go there randomly and you'll get lucky and see him)
3. Gondria (although he has about 5 spawn points, no one is ever in Zul'Drak so you'll find him if you go early)
4. Skoll (Many hunters want him for looks, and TLPD campers will gladly kill him for the joy of it)
5. Karoma (New spirit beast, not many people know about him, but he has many many spawn points)
6. Loque'nahak (Rarest of the 6, many people consider him the leader of the beasts, also he has about 20 spawn points)
If anything I reccomend getting up early, I completely lucked out, loggded on about 6:00 server time, went and found Arcturis and Gondria within 20 minutes of each other, I almost had Skoll too, but another hunter had tamed him literally 2 minutes before I had arrived, so he's extremely difficult to get.. I even got luckier by seeing an advertiser in trade saying they saw Loque'nahak so I raced for it against 5 other hunters. I now have Ghostcrawler, Arcturis, Gondria, and Loque'nahak. Currently I am camping for Skoll again, but it seems that other hunters are taking it away from me.
I have been getting these spirit beasts one a day for several in a row. And I have several hunter friends camping other spirit beasts - I have learned that they are totally unpredictable, and the best time you have to get them is when the rest of the ppl are asleep or at work. I have gotten my spirit beasts at 5:20PM (Loque) - 11:25PM (Ghostcrawler) - 2:50AM (Gondria), all at a location pointed out on their individual pages.
I have seen people try killing him with a full 40 Man Raid Group and they wipe every time. Ghostcrawler has over 1 Mil HP and often triples your damage into an AoE therefor hes practically unkillable. I hope this helps :D
First of all, I would like to ask you not to downrate this post. The purpose is not to show off my success, but to give some useful advices for hunters, who want to tame Spirit Beasts and other rares. I decided to hunt for Spirit Beasts ten days ago. I was collecting beautiful pets for my collection, not rare and eventually decided to try to get these unique ones. Of course, I read some threads here full of scary stories about days of straight camping. I’m casual player, who cannot afford to sit near computer 15-20 hours straight and wait for NPCscan to pop up. But I decided to try.
Long story short. I got six Spirit Beasts (Arcturis, Ban'thalos, Ghostcrawler, Gondria, Loque'nahak, Skoll) and two Cata rares (Scarr and Terrorpene) in ten days. I saw Kirix at Molten Front, but I don’t like spiders. Someone could say, I’m lucky, but I don’t think so. There are some observations and conclusions made of my experience.
. Most of locations, where you can find SBs are almost empty these days. Northrend is snowy desert right now. Even Hyjal and Molten Front. I guess, everybody got sick to do dailies here and it is not crowded, like it was 2-3 months ago. It is pre-patch boredom and I feel like my server is empty. That makes some SB easier to catch. Some, but not all.
. It was confirmed by blue post that if rare is not killed or tamed, it despawns after period of time. I have not heard about certain period. But one evening I log on at 19-00 ST and checked Molten Front. Kirix ran around. I log off and came back 2+ hours later. The spider was still there. So, probably if rare spawns, it may live for several hours, ‘cos nobody wants it. Also it can be proved by the fact that only one rare was tamed during daytime (at Saturday). Other seven I caught during my evening game sessions, which usually lasts 1.5-2 hours between 21-00 and 00-00 ST.
So, I think constant camping or patrolling is not useful. I suggest you to take your time and just log on for couple of minutes and log off.
. NPCscan does not always work properly. Even if you clear cash before game session. It did not warn me about Skoll, Arctirus and Gondria. I suggest you to have another addon (Silverdragon) or make a macro and spam it during patrolling.
. This bear has only one spawn spot and this makes people think it is easier SB to tame. It is wrong. The spot is heavily camped. I was camping him for two evenings, checking spawn app each 20-30 mins within 2-3 hours. In most of cases somebody was there and it was different toons. I consider, that in this particular case I was lucky. I tamed this beast at 23-45 ST and another hunter shown up in five minutes. He said, he was camping bear almost whole day. So, if you decide to start your SB collection from this beast, I suggest not to. The competition is still quite high.
. Point is that all three spawn spots are situated under Time-Lost Proto-Drake flying routes. I detected TLPD by my camping alt November 22nd 21-30ST. I tried to catch it by my main and after 10 mins of flying around I found its corpse near Engine of Makers. I shared this in guild chat and one guy /w me, that he knows a hunter, who tries to catch TLPD for 6 months. So, TLPD is still popular. Some TLPD-camper can kill Skoll during patrolling. But I think you can find a TLPD-camper on your server and propose him gold to share information about Skoll.
. I was looking for this beast or two evenings in a way I described earlier. You log on, make some circles and log off. You don’t have to camp it constantly, ‘cos Zul’Drak is empty. I think it is easy SB to tame.
. That could be a problem. There are 8 spawn spots and there were always somebody in location. Finding this beast requires flying around whole circle. Also killing Loque is a part of achievement and it can be killed for this reason by some achivhunter. I suggest you to make sure about peeps in the area and propose them gold to inform you and keep SB alive.
. Like I said, Hyjal is empty these days. NPCcsan detected this owl at 23-30ST. I had to port to SW to leave some companions in stables, lost app. 5-7 minutes. Beast was still there. Catching him is quite tricky process and I spent about 20-25 mins to do that. NOBODY tried to do the same or invite their friend hunter to the place. So, it was 30+ mins and no competitors.
Same story with
. I tried to tame him in BM/SV specs, failed and had to fly to SW to change to MM. Nobody tried to tame or kill it during half an hour.
. This is easiest SB to tame. There are little amount of quests in this area. Also whole location is not popular’ ‘cos of 3D-dimension nature. People prefer to level alts in Hyjal. It is almost impossible to kill this creature. If you are lvl 85 in FL gear you can easily survive his attacks. If you want to have SB shortly I suggest you to look for Greg Street Ghostcrawler.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I hope it will help you.
A Spirit Beast can use their healing ability while in Spirit Walk without breaking that stealth. While it may or may not be useful, this is something to keep in mind!
Nice post Deckven!
I've been playing for about 4 years. I am a casual player and never get a chance to be on long. That said, I've not had many rare pets...until recently. I now have all 9 spirit beasts and several other rares. I've also run across many of them several times since then. I am 100% sure that Blizzard has increased the spawn rate. I believe this as I have looked for some of them often ever since Wrath came out and they 'were' extremely rare to find. In fact, Skoll was the only one I had after many hunting trips. So if you would like to get these pets, now is the time! You never know when Blizzard might change their minds and make them actaully 'rare' again.
So a couple things to add about taming some of these rares.
Kirix is not really a rare. I see him about every time I go to Firelands...but is left alone...It is one tough spider that will kill you quick unless you are fast and lucky. It has 999k health and will kill any player in a few hits. The cool thing is that even though it shows as an enemy, it will not attack unless provoked.
Ban'Thalos may be rare, but few know how to tame him, so you can find him circling in his area for an hour or so before disappearing. This was an easy tame once I found the right tree to land on top of. Position over the tallest tree to back left of stag statue, fly up, dismount/instant-shot, drop and set freeze trap, tame...he's yours. Might take a time or two if he does not freeze on the first attempt.
Ankah and Magria are easy, you just need to strip off any and ALL armor giving gear before you start...or you WILL die. The more gear you have on, the quicker he one-shots you. He IS NOT tameable of killable with gear on...for ANYONE.
People make Ghostcrawler out to be an easy tame, but you need to be careful as it can easily kill the baddest hunter if you just try to do a straight tame. It is immune to traps and will disrupt your tame. It pinches very hard. A haste pot and Deterence will do the trick...he is a nuetral, which makes prep easier.
is there an achievement for getting all nine spirit beasts?
Tip. Get up very early(ex: 6Am) or go late and see if they spawned, got all the spirit beast Sabers this way. Just 3 More left and my collection is complete Tenkeychy us-killrogg
all spirit beasts are awesome...i have all of them apart from the crab.
Im a proud night elf hunter to have tame all nine spirit beast :)
I found Ban'thalos by accident , but I also have a white version too ,
I have all those pets
Just got one, and as far as i see they just stand still in the point you find him, so don't think he have a patrol area...
Yesterday I was flying to find Terrorpene, I did a couple of passes where he usually is. He wasn't there so I waited a few minutes. While I was spamming my target macro it targeted him. So I decided to head out and see if I could find Spirit Beast. My first fly around Sholizar I got him with the macro flew down and tamed him. The point of all this is Terrorpene is a lot easier to find since he's in a very small spawn area. It seems as if they use the same spawn timer. This is unconfirmed information, just experience I had. So if you want to get 2 pets go sit on Terrorpene which is an amazing looking turtle. Then get to Sholizar Basin and look! Hopefully this helps, happy hunting!
I've just made an 85 hunter on the pandaria beta and I'd like to tame a spirit beast for levelling - my main on the normal servers uses one. Can anyone confirm whether or not they exist on the beta ? . If you have tamed or even seen one either tamed or untamed please reply. I don't want to waste a lot of time searching for one if they don't exist on the beta - thanks for any help you can provide.
I just dinged 85 recently on BM Hunter alt and decided i wanted to get a collection of the spirit beasts.
Last week i got Arctirus at 9.30am on Friday. I had camped 3 hours or so the night before and when i logged in the next morning he was there.
I was thinking that this was gonna be the easiest one because he only has one spawn point.
I spent a few hours Monday and Tuesday in Mount Hyjal after doing the quest line that opens up the dailys on the molten front (you need to do the questline until the Flaming wake phases into the new area called the "Regrowth" when this happens theres 2 spirit cats that can spawn there Magria or Ankha) once i opened this phase i spent a couple of hours around here with no luck and decided i would go to Sholazar basin and start with Loque'nahak.
After a few hours Tuesday night at the eastern spawn points near the gorillas waiting for Loque'nahak i decided to go to bed.
What happened over the next day was at first amazing and i thought myself very lucky but if that was all it was i would not waste your time with a post about luck. Now with Diablo having came out and many serious wow players getting it free with the annual pass and also people taking a break at the end of this expansion before MOP, servers are all a bit on the quiet side. So this means there is almost no competition from other hunters and not even other classes just killing any rare they see for loot of achieves. I believe this is the time to go get yourself as many of these awesome looking pets as you can, especially as in MOP any pet can do any role so these wont just be Ferocity pets.
Then wednesday night i camped the same spots for around 3 hours and maybe checked the other spawn points once a hour. At 1.26am i decided to do a clockwise lap of the Basin before bed and was glad i did because the last spawn point i checked the far north at 58,22 he was there. There was no other allys in the basin at all and i did not see any horde. After i flew to MH to check for either Magria or Ankha but they were not there so i went to bed.
I logged in before my shower when i got up this morning at 9.50am and was still in MH, i flew down the path to do a quick check for Magria or Ankha and spotted Ankha in the middle of the route at 32, 52 and luckily remembered to take off all my armor so i did not get 1 shot as her attack power increases with your armor and so you need to take off any gear with armor (Bascilly just keep on rings, necklace, weapons and trinkets) Tamed her then no problem and went off for my shower very happy.
2 hours later i went to the Storm Peaks looking for Skoll and was at 44, 62 for 10 minutes and then went into a hc for 30 mins and when i ported back out i went to check the spawn point to the west at 30.63 and Skoll was there. I could not believe my luck and tamed him at 1240.
After i flew to Zuldrak looking for Gondria and seen her right away at 61,62 and tamed her at 1250.
Then i decided to try for Ghostcrawler the Spirit Crab in Vashjir. I had not quested there so spent half hour doing the quests till i got the seahorse mount. I spent about 20 mins camping at 20,54 while sending some e mails and then decided to go get lunch. Then i patrolled the route mapped out on Npcscan overlay and after 5-10 mins of swimming around i spotted and tamed him at 29,73. He was easy to tame at 85 in mostly blue gear with a couple of greens and couple of epics he only hit me for about 40% of my hp before he was tamed. This was at 3pm.
Not believing my luck and how quiet the spawn points were ie no other hunters or noobs trying to kill as i tame i decided to go Twilight Highlands and look for Karoma. When i got there i seen 2 other hunters in the area so thought seeing as how many rares i had seen today i would log onto my main and have a quick look for TLPD (i felt as if luck was on my side and even thought about buying a lottery ticker haha) But after 45 mins i decided to go back to the Hunter and did a lap of the spawn points for Karoma and at the last one i checked 53,53 the Wolf was there and i tamed with no hassle at 4.15pm.
I really believe that this quiet period is a great time to go get these rare pets because the servers are all quieter and we people still playing may find some spare time on our hands once we have cleared DS each week.
Thetigerlady Lvl 85 Nelf BM hunter - Ghostlands
Also i just got Jadefang tonight from the crumbling depths. I get into her cave by flying to the edge of the depths just to the edge of where it would dismount you and then turn the wifi off on my laptop and then fly into the crumbling depths and into her cave and turn the wifi back on and this stops you getting dismounted during the flight.
I have tamed Gondria, Loque'nahak, Arcturis, Skoll, and Karoma. Had Gondria since I was level 78 got Loque'nahak and Skoll yesterday after a day of searching because I got up and 7:00 a.m. because of my dog and I couldn't get back to sleep so I flew between all the spirit beast areas in Northrend and found Skoll lurking behind a tree at his northernmost spawn area (I don't have coordinates or any addons for that matter) and I found Loque'nahak not 30 minutes later west of the Mosslight pillar. Karoma and Arcturis I found this morning at 6:00 am (my dogs fault again) after about 45 minutes of searching Karoma was in-between the two spots under the purple star-burst thing. Arcturis was RIGHT up against the cliff near the water Northwest of Amberpine. I tamed him about 15 minutes after Karoma. I did it solo without addons or macros just using basic beast tracker and doing 3-4 sweeps between 6 and 9 a.m. RT. DON'T hold still and camp! Fly between their spawn points and with Arcturis give his area a casual check-up in-between looking for the others. Look early in the a.m. for a couple of days and you will find them. GOOD HUNTING!
They are just better cats. Hell, the abilities are basically the same
They should add more Abilities like a sheild!
In MoP, if a spirit beast (for this example let's say tamed Arcturis, the bear)...
If it is naturally Ferocity can it be changed to Tenacity?
and if changed to Tenacity, would it retain it's "pet specific" abilities like Roar of Courage, Spirit Mend, and Spirit Walk?
I miss spirit strike they had.
Im playing on high populated server (defias b. eu; but i guess it doesnt matter much thanks to the CRZs) and the only spirit beast i decided to camp was Arcturis and it was like for 1.5 hour; that was the cubby i really wanted :). As for the rest of Northrend beasts, i inspected all spots early in the morning just before i departed for school and yesterday i got Loquenahak, and today i tried spots of Gondria and Skoll - got em both on my first try. And i have never noticed any competition. Am i so lucky or nobody cares about Northern spirit beasts anymore?
There are three spirit beast spectral porcupines on the 5.2 PTR. These pets are similar to the Firelands tames in that they are visible to anyone, spawn neutrally, can easily one shot players if not kited properly, and are invulnerable to being tamed unless they're below 20% HP.
Degu is a red porcupine that patrols to the east of Crane Wing Refuge in
Gumi is a blue porcupine that is to the north-west of One Keg, in the mountains of

Best hunter pet in my opion
Spirit Dragon for MoP?
If anyone is interested in reading it, I have a guide on spirit beasts that I keep up-to-date every time a new spirit beast is added.
It includes spawn location, pictures, and taming info/strategies. To my knowledge, it is the only spirit beast-specific guide on the site.
You can find it
I ONLY started playing WoW to roll a hunter to be able to tame all of the spirit beasts & acquire all the cool mounts. To finally have all 12 spirit beasts is truly a "Feat of Strength" of sorts for me. It's a goal I set & achieved & i'm dang proud of that.
All I can say is it takes MAJOR dedication & desire 2 tame these guys. Unless ur very very lucky. I of course am/was not.
I DO wanna point out that _NPCScan & _NPCScan Overlay WORKS.....BUT for instance for Skoll, they didn't have his western spawn point marked & if I hadn't read online where he spawns...I wouldn't have known to go there the day I tamed him.
READ ONLINE as much as u can abt the pet ur trying to tame. Like for Ankha/Magria, u have to take off ALL your armor, even your weapon to tame...& of course be phased in by completing the Hyjal quest chain. And for Ban'thalos, u must stand on a tree, when he spawns, lay your freezing trap, mount up, fly straight up, when he's in range, dismount, hit concussive shot & begin taming. I'd have Glyph of Tame Beast active as well. Those 4 seconds it takes off of the normal tame time helps A LOT!
I also wanna share that After the 3am resets, most of them spawned for me. This might not be accurate but Karoma, Loque'nahak & Ghostcrawler spawned for me after the 3am resets & Loque'nahak after the 6am 1.
As special as a spirt beast is, we Hunters with non BM specs need our own Special Specced Pet... :(
has anyone seen the spirit beasts in northend since the last patch? I know on the realm of nazgrel both the bear and one of the cats are currently missing and have not spawned since the new patch has come out. The people I have talked to have said that they were in the grizzly area for a full day and never once saw him. the same goes for the cat. did they pull the spirit beasts from those areas?
I was using arcturis as the tank pet while fighting Viscidus in AQ and discovered that Gondria, Arcturis and Skol no longer do frost damage.
According to the combat logs they only do melee and/or claw. They no longer bite. I am not sure about all the spirit animals as I didnt have Loq to check.
Oh my god. I cannot believe what just happened.
Yesterday I decided I wanted to camp for spirit beasts. I started with
. I camped at his spawn point for two hours with 2 other hunters. I went offline and the next morning both hunters were still there. He hadn't spawned yet. I went offline again because I had to go to college. Then I came online in the afternoon and he just... stood there. Not one other hunter was there and he just wandered around.. So I tamed him.
But now. The craziest thing ever happened.
I wanted to do some quests in Sholazar Basin. And guess what? There he was.
. Just standing there with no other hunter around. I tamed him. I didn't even camp for him, not 1 minute. How crazy is that? He spawned at the gorilla spawn point. I've read that he spawns there a lot.
I tamed two spirit beasts in
less than 2 hours
. This is pure luck. Chance that this will happen is 1/1000000
I tamed them both in the realm: Chamber of Aspects. Chamber of Aspects is a medium populated realm. But I must say, the spirit beasts are NOT heavily camped. A very good realm to get your spirit beasts.
Also, I tamed them both without ice trap. I just hit the tame button. I was lvl 76 when I tamed them both. So dont worry if youre a low lvl. Both easy tames.
I'm very happy. But I kinda wish I had to do a little more work to tame Loque'nahak. Taming spirit beasts is supposed to be an adventure, and I just tamed Loque like it was just another animal.
So I don't have a lot of tips, I just wanted to tell my story since it's so unique!
Goodluck to you all!
Just spent 15 minutes on each side of spawn time for Arcturis in hours 12 - 24. No spawn from previous day.
Just tamed articus on realm garona at 2:30pm realm time
That awkward moment you open your stable and see 15+ spirit beasts, many in multiple copies just with different names!
Like for spirit beast addiction ^^
I have all Wotlk and Cata spirit beasts, and I'm working on Mop ones :)
Just wanted to say, though, that with Ban'Thalos I found easier to fly, target, dismount, hit him and then cast disengage right before falling on the ground, rather than finding the right spot to land on a tree, etc etc.
Got it on first try using disengage method, while the tree method made me die like 3-4 times :)
Just got spirit beast (Bear, Grizzly Hills) @ 4:22 am Local Time on Mal'Ganis . After Camping spawn for about 4 hour, and killing several alliance hunters and a blood dk twice, he spawned and i tamed him post haste. Needless to say I'm tired.
OK,,this is a new update on the Spirit Bear "Arcturis"
I had been trying to get this spirit pet this time since July 27,2014. Today 8-30-14 at, or near 2:50pm central time on Ghostlands Reaml. I just came into the area and it poped...I tamed it; and now have it...Hope this spawn time helps other hunters,,,Good Luck on the Hunt !
Thorrule, GEE> Grand Epic Exposure
Today i tamed all spirit beasts. Last one is Ghostcrawler.
Some of the hardest and most competition pets to get. Farming Skoll took atleast 2 days and Loquenahak
If anyone comes here new to hunting and wants a spirit beast, the easiest one to get
in Suramar. They are not a rare spawn, and they look rad.
"You might want to proof-read your comments before posting them."
That's freaking hilarious given that the article in question misuses the word "unique" twice and suffers from an overabundance of pointless adverbs.
I offer this sentence (from the article) as an example (not a comprehensive list) of this.
Spirit Beasts have
one of the most unique
* special abilities of all pets, Spirit Mend,
which actually allows
** your pet to do a small amount of healing to any friendly target.
* "Unique" is not subject to gradation. Something cannot be "more unique" than something else. The word means (almost literally) "one of a kind" and something cannot exist and be more "one of a kind" than . . . well . . . the only one of its kind.
** "which actually allows" . . . is that as opposed to "which virtually allows"? The adjective here is fluff. It's filler. If the author couldn't come up with more meaningful text to fill his quota for this article, he'd have been better off just increasing the size of the artwork on the page to cover his failure.
For those hunters who just need a spirit beast quick for raiding/dungeons, I would recommend going for Myonix
Easy tame and quick spawn, with a bonus of a very nice looking pet to boot!
I like using a spirit beast as my pet. I just wish Blizzard could make something like
that could change only the look of your spirit beast on hand to look like a different pet you have in the stable.
In terms of PvE, using a spirit beast is something I
ability certainly makes them favorable in eliminating powers from the foe that increase damage output, healing effects over time, etc. This takes some stress off others (should you be raiding, stuff like that) with a dispel ability. Play your part!
If you want to tame spirit beast when you are 60 (Shadowland), you can't do solo without a trick. Why? Because those pets are death by just one hit (even with your gears are off), so you cannot get it to 30%HP to tame. The solution of this is:
1. Take off all your gears.
2. Fly up high and drop to kill yourself.
3. Release, talk to the spirit to revive yourself. You will get Res-sick and will lower your damage done.
4. Now you can go to the pet and hit it with you barehand until it reach to percentage needed to be tamed.
Hope it will help you.
