My dream... Silithids... FINALLY MY SILITHID MOUNT WILL NO LONGER BE LONELY! Thank you blizzard... Thank you...
It would be cool if some sort of a creature from Azjol'Nerub will become an exotic family too, seeing as these two races (Qiraji and Nerubians) were descended from the same race.
Think a silithid would be better if you could tame one of the swarmers in tanaris, and still got it's lil swarm ability. Very useful ability if ur fighting a pally without retribution aura or a mage without magma armor etc.
wat noone seems to have mentioned is that this pets special ability plus the BM spec intimidation= one long stun if u use them right after each other
I tamed one last night after the patch went live. They hop around while idle and some hunters may not like that so that should be something you should keep in mind in deciding whether or not you want to tame one.
i'm having a hard time taming this for some reason. have the 51 BM build. but the silthid keeps knocking me down in the middle of taming, which interrupts the effect, and i have to start all over again. any advice?
btw if you tame exotic moount, and then relearn talents, will your pet be removed after reseting talents?
These guys remind me of zerglings. How's that for a Hunter's pet?
I'ts afraid... It's afraid!
I really like this pet for solo grinding. One big glitch I'm sure everyone is aware of is the "pet waltz" where upon engaging a mob, they both try to move into position and end up side-stepping an immense distance. The root prevents that. You can stop the waltzing by briefly recalling the pet, but the web makes that unnecessary.
There very Hyperactive :D
one effect it seemed to have in PvP was the fact that enemies had difficulty targeting it since its always fidgeting... quite funny actually
Zerg? I thought they looked more like the things from Starship Troopers!
Antlion, half life two
Alright, nobody cares what you did on the PTR, things change, and
is the only thing that matters.
And right now there's no Silithid pets in the Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King, their Venom Wrap is reduced in PvP, and with the long cooldown it's not too effective in Raids or PvE.
fun pets but people will "bug" you to no end (lol) about where you get it 5 minutes after i tame i head into UC and get 3 psts at once saying the exact same thing "whats that pet?" named him Mojo, and he is pretty fun though he has a little trouble holding multiple mobs
Hey, just to let you know, I am currently a BM hunter at level 69 now, and I dont know about you guys, but my cunning pets do way more dps than ferocity pets now due to the Wolverine Bite cunning pets can now get. In randoms with some buffs, (like kings on me and might on my pet) on a boss i can pull around 1400 dps, and normally around 52-59% of my dps is my pet. I tested out a couple of cunning pets, and the ones that seem to the most damage is the Nether Ray, and its strange because its CD on its ability is 28 seconds. Strangely enough my Sporebat is one of my highest DPS pets, then followed by the Chimaera and then my raptor (which is my backup pet if the boss does alot of damage to pets.)
So I guess since the change on Wolverine Bite, I see cunning pets the #1 on dps again, but ferocity not much behind.
Ok so everyone seems to agree that this is the epic upgrade for a spider (which in my opinion is the best pvp pet in the game), but the question is, is it worth it to give up other possible specs to go BM just for this pet? Im guessing not, but never sure. BMs a good spec too, so maybe going BM and getting this as a pet would be better then keeping my spider and going MM or SV. Any suggestions on this?
I've noticed the "Colosus" model is also tamable, Gorishi Fledgling colosuss for example, (I'm to low a level to be able to tame exoctics) if I use "Beast Lore" it's classified as a Silithid and is tamable as an Exotic as the rest of the Silithid, also there is another model, with the brain exposed, I forgot exactly where it is, is also tamable.
This pet is AWESOME for PvP, but if your missing a class or two that gives the Kings or GotW buff, the rock spiders are great as well. I find myself using the Devilsaur for regular PvE, the open-headed, purple and red brain bug silithid for PvP, and the purple rock spider (currently trying for the green one Jadefang) for when I need a tank pet or the 5% Str, Agi, Stam, Int buff is needed. Plus he makes cute squeeky noises when he fights. =3
Anyone else think that the tank boss skins (the ones with the sickle arms) kinda looks like a miniature Ultralisk when enraged? They grow nearly 3x their size upon enraging!
I cant think of a "good" name for my silithid (It's the boss orange type). i was thinking Dragoon, but blizz has that reserved. So i ended up naming him Creep, as in the stuff zerg's get a speed boost on.
Guys This may be the best pet ive used so far!
I Specced more into focus management.
I did my reg. BM specc and went for points in go for the throught and Sic'Em.
I also got the tier 1 mm talent(for 22 focus Arcane Shots) and the survival talent for more stam.
A pet's specc is just as important(if not more) than the master's specc.
First i specced into dash/serpent strikes.
Then hit mobility, boar's speed, and Spiked collar and owls focus
Then feeding frenzy and cornered and Culling the herd too!
But also in bull headed, roar of recovery, and wolverine bite!
(Don't specc into wild hunt. my pets dps dropped 2k from 1 point spent due to focus starvation)
Basically, my pet can have dash up 100% of the time, and with boars speed; it has 206% run speed!
With bull headed its more cc resistant and with venom web, ive had nothing escape!
And i was recently in throne of the four winds, and the healer linked dps.
i was dissapointed at my second to last(7.5k) but i scrolled up and guesse who was topping the board at 13k!
i nearly passed out...
Havent tryed pvp with it yet.
Btw my gear score is ~339 due to being off for a few months. But i spent ~4 hours testing pet speccs and it paid off!
P.S. if anyone can improve plzz reply i want to get better :D
Flifang, NE BM Hunter
Server: Scarlet Crusade U.S. RP
so... where can I find the lvl 9999 one..?
wowhead says I can.
As a hunter planning to PvP in Beast Mastery spec, I think the best choice of pet is between this and a
. This has a very nice web, which is really useful in PvP. The fort buff is amazing, though--especially when there's no Priest around or the Lock has his Felhunter out. It's priceless in PvP, and while most melee won't be hitting you if you're any good, it's amazing against casters or other hunters. It also has some
as a added bonus, especially Bullheaded.
is easily on of the coolest pet skins, to top it off,
s have great tamed abilites. :D
These things are
i love them they are good for raids!
As of 6.0.3 I cannot see the web abilities or Qiarji fortitude on my pet Silithid anymore. :(
The summary at the top says these aren't tamable until level 69. That is no longer correct.
Petopia is showing they are tamable as low as 32
