Biggest issue with cats though is their armor. They are a very squishy pet class, so not the best in pve, but good for taking out those pesky clothies in pvp. :)
There's just so many to choose from!
The best pet DPS class will be nurfed upon the addition of patch 3.1.0. All pets will now have 5% in all catigories, damage, health, and amor
I saw someone walking around with a regular house cat as a pet.
Anyone knows what it was?
If nothing else, it was very funny...
Do all cats go stealth ?
...Hey, at least you can tame what
a druid in travel form...
Hey, just to let you know, I am currently a BM hunter at level 69 now, and I dont know about you guys, but my cunning pets do way more dps than ferocity pets now due to the Wolverine Bite cunning pets can now get. In randoms with some buffs, (like kings on me and might on my pet) on a boss i can pull around 1400 dps, and normally around 52-59% of my dps is my pet. I tested out a couple of cunning pets, and the ones that seem to the most damage is the Nether Ray, and its strange because its CD on its ability is 28 seconds. Strangely enough my Sporebat is one of my highest DPS pets, then followed by the Chimaera and then my raptor (which is my backup pet if the boss does alot of damage to pets.)
So I guess since the change on Wolverine Bite, I see cunning pets the #1 on dps again, but ferocity not much behind.
SO MANY REASONS TO LOVE YOUR CAT!
1) If you're a night elf, your cat can prowl while you shadow meld
2) Prowl gives a great 1st burst of damage (+50%) - combine it with Charge and becomes +75% and 1 second immobilize!
3) In PvP your target may never see cat coming
4) Can you really imagine your character forming an emotional bond with an insect?
In the above test (many kudos btw), you demonstrate that a cat may be better in a boss fight. But cats should have an even bigger edge in multiple smaller fights because their initial burst will be applied over and over!
I am a BM and have the option to tame exotics, but think I'll be keeping my cat (Sian Rottam) for the foreseeable future.
This is a reference to cat, real life animal
I went from 1 to 85 with my Cat, and I still love him. Especially when I see him on a Heroic boss, and he's just healing himself like a champ.
Here, kitty kitty kitty, MEOW, MEOW! NOAW KILL THAT BELF!
The description of Roar of Courage up top is no longer correct. It is now learned by the pet at 81 and increases Mastery by 3000, so it can be used if you don't have a Shaman or if your Paladin is using Blessing of Kings instead of Blessing of Might.
The idea of hunters taming big cats and using them as pets is fine, and they certainly look impressive when they're striding around a city with their keeper.
However, with the advent of the Chinese-based MoP, it's unfortunate that Blizzard should introduce the concept of hunting these fine creatures as part of quests. Sometimes the quest asks you to simply wipe out a number of tiger-like cats because they are a "problem", or even worse, you're sometimes asked to hunt them for their body parts.
This is especially uncomfortable for a lot of WoW players around the world, as in real life China totally ignores wildlife agreements such as
, and Chinese businesses actively hunt and trade in endangered species, including tigers, mainly for the shady and unscrupulous market in Chinese medicines.
I realise that Blizzard is trying to make money from the Chinese market, and wants as many Chinese players as possible to play WoW. This is why MoP has moved WoW
from being a purely fantasy setting, to being a stereotypical Chinese cartoon setting. (Maybe we'll get cartoon-style Cockney Londoners in WoW one day?) But in my opinion Blizzard are going too far in "cosying-up" to China by making it seem to be acceptable to hunt endangered species.
I realise that WoW is only a game, and shouldn't be taken too seriously. But on the other hand, it's the activities and attitudes that we pick up as children which form us into the adults which we later become. Blizzard could have used MoP as an opportunity to educate the Chinese to take care of their precious and endangered natural resources. Unfortunately, it looks like they chose profit over moral obligation and responsibility.
It's funny, cats and
have the same abillities, steath and master buff. The only difference is that spirit beasts got healing!
I would say the best hunter pet for the cat family is
He is freaking awesome and a challenge to tame in that he is a quest unlocked NPC.
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur, happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr.
For wind-darrow server tamed 12pm todayfor those tracking by spawn timer; now what to name him? <strokes chin>
