FINALLY HUNTERS HAVE A BATTLE REZ!
Now if only they could rez their master when we die instead of just fading away.
This is considered an exotic pet, even though it is not listed as one at the time this comment was posted.
Quilen are Exotic Pets, so don't get confused as a pandaren low level hunter...
Warcraft's "quilen" beasts are inspired by a mythical animal from Asian mythology. They come in a variety of names, such as "guardian lion", "shishi", or in the Western world, "foo dog". While they may look like dogs, they are actually very stylized lions.
Guardian lions are usually seen in statue form (made of stone, metal or pottery), and the statues themselves are typically found in pairs. They are often placed in entryways to buildings for both decoration and symbolic protection. Indeed, Pandarian quilen are often seen sitting in pairs by doorways. Their stony or jeweled appearance is also inspired by the hard materials used in making guardian lion statues.
Why are they called "quilen" in World of Warcraft, though? It's a good question. The name is clearly derived from "qilin", an entirely different mythical Asian creature that is vaguely like a unicorn. For Warcraft's take on qilin, see the
Question: Do your pets of the same family share cooldowns? Could I tame 5 different quilens and swap them out every time I use one of their rez's in a battleground so I'd always have the ability up?
Nice theyr easy to find in pandaria and are very powerful i like them alot otho my hunter isnt level 90 but ive seen them with my war and i have as friend that hase one and i saw how nice they are to play with :)
Ok, awesome, a battle rez for hunters. Also if you catch 5 of them and use 1 battle rez then switch to ur other pet you will have another. and do that 5 times. :D
Almost a must-have for BM hunters. You never know when the Quilen's Battle rez is going to come handy.
i dont know why your all making this so hard to do , step inside mogu'shun vault solo without a pet , once inside there is a quilen first enemy on left side , tame it and done .. step outside and there ya go ... a moving quilen pet
I love Quilens because of how much I am spending time in LFR and usually find an lazy/incompetent healer or tank.
Best. Pet. EVER! Their battle rez "Eternal Guardian" is very useful in any group-related activities (dungeons/raids/world bosses/etc), especially if you have a tank down and need him up right away. I highly recommend this beautiful animal to all BM Hunters.
There are only two things that are missing from this family: a tameable jade quilen (not that one skin the rare, Portent, has) and a spirit beast quilen.
why can i not rename mine?...i just tamed a terracotta guardian in kun-lai
As a marks hunter it's sad for me to see this is an exotic pet :(
The quilen_gray (white with brown spots) skin is also tameable, the
Gurthan Iron Maw
comes in both that and the white with purple stripes variant.
Tamable at lv 7? LOLWUT?
I'm surprised about the fact that these stone bulwarks are ferocity by default. You'd think big stone guardians were Tenacity pets
Do quilen offer battle rez now? I saw a comment from 2019 saying they do not, so I wanted to check. I also read cranes offer battle rez. I've tamed a quilen and a crane and I don't see battle rez, but I could be looking in the wrong place or it's not an ability anymore (which, why? that sounds so cool).
All of this pet and every pet in this family have had most of their special talents nerfed out of existence.
