Every attempt I have had to use this ability always says "miss".
The wording, however, implies that one is consuming a dead pet on your own team. Therefore, one of your pets must be dead? It is really rare I would let one of my pets die just for this ability to work, so I wouldn't have this attack active.
Am I missing something?
It seems that this ability can not be used on an undead corpse. I assume since they have come back to life once. I have this pet on an all undead team and the consume misses every single time.
It must be weird reviving a pet after one of its allies has eaten the corpse. Does the consumed pet wake up inside the other pet's stomach?
This ability can also be cast when your Unborn Val'kyr used haunt. And sinds Haunt is more reliable now its a decent stall combo.
Unborn Val'kyr: Curse of doom, Haunt, switch pet (Stitched pup)
Stitched pup: Consume Corpse or Howl etc.
To bad no other then undead type learns consume corpse.
There is a bug or exploit when this is used in conjunction with an unborn valkyr, people are able to repeatedly consume the corpse every time after haunt. Have run into this several times now with a valk and 2x blighhawks where they haunt, swap, feed, attack, haunt, swap feed. Did it at least 4 times in a very drawn out battle.
Technical Note: As the tooltip indicates, a single Corpse can only be consumed once, by one pet. If you're running Consume Corpse on multiple pets for some reason, only one of them can make use of a single Corpse.
Example: Pet A uses Haunt to generate a Corpse for 4 turns. Pet B switches in and consumes Pet A's Corpse. Pet C switches in afterwards and casts Consume Corpse, but it will Miss as Pet A's Corpse was already used up by Pet B.
However! Haunt always generates a "fresh" Corpse when cast, so once Haunt expires and Pet A Revives, you can re-cast Haunt, and then
Pet C from the previous example would be able to successfully consume Pet A's Corpse again, however you are still limited to only one pet doing it per Haunt rotation.
