Edited out a lot of redundant stuff
Take note this sometimes lasts 2 rounds not just the one attack, not sure why.
Seems they changed the tool-tip now from what it used to say:
"You endure the next attack"
"You endure, preventing your health from being reduced below 1 health until the end of the next round."
This is more logical as it did used to last 2 rounds from application to fade but was confusing as previously the wording suggested it would just be 1 attack.
I was thinking of a new ability like Survival but it always acts first with a 5 round cooldown. This would create an interesting scenario where you know you're going to die (or a huge attack is about to happen) but if you could delay it one round, a DOT or queued ability on the other team will have a chance to take affect before you die (or lose a bunch of HP).
There is a special possibility with this ability. Although extremely highly unlikely, if you are using a
and this ability, you are below 25% health, use Survival, then the enemy uses
, you'll live through it, and if you use Cauterize next turn, you'll heal half of the 'execute' damage which is usually between 5000-10,000. Basically, to full health.
Just a neat occurance I wanted to confirm to see if it was true, but I doubt this would ever happen besides on purpose.
Edit: Impale and Predatory Strike no longer instantly kill, this no longer works, marked as out of date.
When battling wild critters, sometimes it's active for 1 attack and sometimes 2 attacks. I'm misunderstanding something here...
Case 1: You are faster than enemy.
1.2)Enemy hit, can't bring below 1 hp.
2.1)You use other ability.
2.2)Enemy hit, can't bring below 1 hp.
Case 2: You are slower than enemy.
1.1)Enemy hit you, could kill.
2.1)Enemy hit, can't bring below 1 hp.
2.2)You use other ability.
So being faster saves you for 2 turns, when being slower for just 1.
In case anyone wonder - yes, it is possible to capture a pet with 'survival' active. I did it myself.
I was fighting a Black Rat in Val'sharah.
The trap is always a guaranteed success on Trap attempt #4
, yet on my 2nd trap attempt the enemy pet had Survive buff active... and
it took a
trap attempt for me to successfully catch the enemy pet.
The only thing I can think of that would have affected this is the Survive buff cancelling or somehow negating one of my trap attempts.
That is super weird and I don't think should be happening, considering the ability mentions nowhere on the tooltip anything about trapping, and no other ability (to my knowledge) affects trapping.
