Recommended Gear for Outlaw Rogue in Shadowlands
What is the BiS Outlaw Rogue gear?
With many different sources of gearing and loot scarcity in Shadowlands, targeting your absolute Best in Slot gear isn't entirely realistic; instead, we've created a Best in Slot list from the ideal Outlaw Rogue raid drops found in Shadowlands, from Mythic Dungeons, to help you decide what to prioritize.
These lists should give you several gearing paths in Season 3 including
, Mythic+, and
. Give the following guide a read to learn about all gearing options in Shadowlands Season 2.

Sepulcher of the First Ones Best in Slot Gear for Outlaw Rogue
Here is a selection of good gear you can get for every slot in the raid, including a suggestion for tier set slots. Keep in mind that best setups vary in reality and depend on your actual character's gear. Raidbots Top Gear and Droptimizer are invaluable tools in refining your gear.
Simming yourself
is always better than following lists like these, which are only supposed to give some rough guidance.
The most important thing to pay attention to is items that drop at a higher item level from the final bosses, as well as going for making your tier set active. Also make note that this BiS list does not include legendaries. You want to put
on a ring slot, and your covenant legendary on your waist.

While Outlaw Rogue loot is limited to one-handed weapons, they can equip daggers, looted via Assassination and Subtlety loot spec, in their off-hand just fine. Only the main hand has to be a one-handed weapon.
is normalized to weapon speed, however, poison proc chances are not, so there is a slight advantage to having a dagger in your off-hand. Plus, the dagger from Sylvanas is really good.
Tier Set Bonus for Outlaw Rogue
After many raid tiers have passed, the long awaited return of tier sets are back, and more easily obtainable than ever before. Tier can drop from M+, PvP and raid which means it's going to be much easier to get it this tier, than in the past. The Outlaw set bonus also looks great overall.

- Pistol Shot has a 100% chance to load a Hidden Bullet from your sleeves, up to 6 times. After loading 6 bullets, your next Pistol Shot also fires Between The Eyes as though 6 combo points were spent.
The set consists of five different gear slots.

To enable the tier set bonus you need to equip any set of four of these items, but the best ones are

. Don't expect to get these exact slots right away, the important part is specifically getting the set active first and foremost.
Overall both halves of this tier set are worth around 5-6% each, so around 10-12% DPS gained overall from getting all 4 pieces of tier gear. The gameplay is a personal favourite of mine as it really highlights the reactive gameplay of Outlaw Rogue.

Mythic+ Best in Slot Gear for Outlaw Rogue
Here is a selection of gear that is available from Mythic+ dungeons. As with the raid above, the best thing to determine your best gear is to use simulations tools like Raidbots though. Especially in dungeons, a lot of options are available. Besides, it usually matters more to just get item level improvements for slots you are still lacking in than to fish for secondary stats or "BIS" items.

Best Outlaw Rogue Trinkets in Shadowlands
Trinkets often come down to numbers.
Simulations are always recommended
but, nevertheless, here will be a rough ranking how specific trinkets are expected to perform and how happy you should be to get your hands on.
There is no strict preference between on-use or on-equip trinkets. That said, on-use trinkets require an additional button press (or macro) and having two on-use trinkets causes them to trigger a shared 20s cooldown. Because of that, you may find it inconvenient to run with two on-use trinkets. That does not make it bad but it is something to keep in mind.
Due to gear being able to scale in a variety of content (Mythic+ and Raid), I'll typically list out the overall ranking of trinkets in order assuming equal iLvl. Significant item level differences will influence your selection.

Best Items to Upgrade with Valor Points for Outlaw Rogue in Shadowlands
Points is a currency used by players to upgrade items from Mythic+ Dungeons, either from running Mythic Keystones or from the Great Vault, up to item level 272. Similarly to
, Valor has a cap that is increased every week during the Season.
You can obtain Valor by completing Mythic+ dungeons or completing daily callings. You can learn more about Valor in our in-depth guide.
Earning and Spending Valor Points
When using
to upgrade items, you should really and totally focus on improving your overall gear. This usually means upgrading your lowest item level items. You can think long or short-term but the best is probably somewhere in between. Before upgrading, you should consider these questions:
What is my lowest item weighing me down?
How easily can I expect to get a better item for that slot? Is there a low slot that I may have difficulties to get better drops for?
How good is the stat budget / effect on my item? (Slots like Head and Chest have more primary stat than Bracers, for example.)
After going through this list of thoughts, you should usually be able to determine an item to upgrade all on your own. And in any case: don't worry too much about it, an upgrade is an upgrade.
That said, slots that are always a good starting point to look at are weapons and trinkets. Here is a quick selection of items you can upgrade without any worries if you are wearing them. Even for those slots, you can get good items from the raid or other content though.

Notes
Weapons
Especially in the Main Hand, Weapon DPS is what matters most. Don't worry too much about the exact stats on your weapons. Upgrading any of these is fine.
Trinkets
Arguably the best trinket from the Shadowlands dungeons with a strong passive effect.
Another strong trinket, this time with an on-use effect. The totem acts as a pet that attacks for shadow damage.
Items to Prioritize in the Great Vault for Outlaw Rogue in Shadowlands
When selecting your weekly reward from the Great Vault, picking a piece of tier gear is your highest priority, next in line to that would be highest item level when given the choice. Prioritize weapons early, since they give the most throughput for a single item upgrade. High priority trinkets will be your next best option, followed by items with a higher stat budget (typically Helms, Chests, and Legs followed by Shoulders, Gloves, Belt, and Boots).
Continue to favor high stat budget items over low stat ones. If there's a particular item in your gear set with a low item level then you can also select that over making minor item level upgrades to other pieces. As a bit of a cheat sheet:
Weapons → High Value Trinkets → High Stat Budget Gear (Helms, Chests, and Legs) → Large Item Level Upgrades → Everything Else
If you're in deep progression and an item you need drops off a boss, it can sometimes be worth prioritizing that item, as you may not get back to that boss during the week or you may be extending your lockout and won't see that item again until after progression, unless you do a reclear. That aside, you should always sim using
Raidbots
to see what will be your best upgrade choice.

::Edit:: I've found now that I've geared my rogue up (360ish) that as your haste and crit start getting to around the 15% and 25% (haste/crit) marks, Vers becomes a stronger stat per point. Galeforc/crit also sims similar for me at the moment in terms of single target DPS.
How come the weapons in the BiS list aren't crit/haste stat ones? Is there a soft haste/crit cap I don't know about?

um you defiantly want to use before the end of the fight is say about 40 stacks will pretty much get you to 100% crit. correct me if I am wrong but 100% I believe is the cap for crit.

There is a small mistake in the links for the Bis Gear it states that the SinSoaked Waders (boots) are from Mists while they are from Sanguine Depths
