I just opened one and got 55 Timeless Coins and 10 Lesser Charm of Good Fortune.
If you find yourself having trouble making the jumps from pillar to pillar, simply mount up, and jump from behind the center of the pillar you're on. Overall, a very easy treasure to get.
To access the pillars, you need to run up the ramp on the other side of the gnoll they run out from. Firewalker Ruins, is the name of the sub-zone.
Either somone is trolling or it is bugged and left open, dozens of people on this pillar trying to get it, Any confirmation?
There's a chest appearing on my mini-map near the pirate ship, but I cannot find it. Anyone found out how?
This is where the fun and games come in! You need to get the other "puzzle" chests first in order to open this "game". The other chests will be shown as icons on your mini map.
Gleaming Treasure Chest
Start at 51, 73 and jump from pillar to pillar. If you suck at jumping, try riding a friend like a druid or obsidian nightwing or having a priest
leap of faith
Rope Bound Treasure Chest
Fun! Walk across the ropes! If you're good, you can run but I found walking to be the easiest. Start at 60, 45 and just walk across the rope. I turned my camera stright down. When you come to another rope under you, drop down onto it and go to the right. Next rope, drop down and go left. Then drop onto the pillar with the chest.
Mist-Covered Treasure Chest
Once you've done both of those you can go to the
Gleaming Crane Statue
at 58,60 to click it and fly! The chests are on little discs floating in the air, circle around until you land on one and loot it. I've managed to get 4 chests in one trip. Speed effects do work while in the air. Once your buff drops the discs disappear and you lose your wings but you get a lingering buff that prevents falling damage.
You earn the achievement
Extreme Treasure Hunter
once you loot your first
Mist-Covered Treasure Chest
up in the air.
The treasure on the pirate ship is fun but it is not require to activate the crane statue or for the achievement. Oh yes, BEFORE looting any mist covered chests in the air, feel free to fly around! I was able to fly over to the little plateaus in the area to loot eggs and Ordo supply boves! The crane statue remains active until you loot a chest. I would hazard a guess these are a weekly respawn as it is not daily.
This is the weekly tracking quest for this object:
Pillar Hopping Tracking Quest
This is one of six chests on the
that you can loot weekly:
To check which of the six you have looted this week, paste the following into a chat window:
/run local function z(n,i)print(format('%s: %s',n,IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(i)and'\124cff00ff00Yes\124r'or'\124cffff0000No\124r'))end z('Gleaming',32969);z('RopeBound',32968);z('MistCovered',32971);z('Satchel',32970);z('Jetsam',32956);z('Sunken',32957);
is it just me or is the loot of all weekly chests so terrible it's barely even worth getting them ?
Cannot be opened under level 90.
i cant seem to get to the chest!
Located on top of the pillar. To reach it, you have to jump down the three pillars between it and Firewalker Ruins.
If you are in the center of the pillars, look SW there is a dirt and grass ramp type incline that goes up above the pillars, kill a few bad guys to get to the pillars. Jumping while mounted on a Chopper was pretty simple.
This may be obvious to some people, but you're going to want to be mounted up to make the jumping easy.
So for the first pillar, I typically made too much of a leap and when in air I just hit my down arrow key to land, but you want to take this jump early on!
for the second pillar, jump from the outer edge of the inside O (when you see it, it's just the design of the top of the pillar)
for the third and forth jump, start your jump from the very edge of the pillar.
*side tip: I find it easier to do a run and jump and most I figure might, so back up and then jump on the point I gave you.*
I know you can do it, so have fun :)
