(Horde) Spawned right behind the herb garden (direction towards the BBQ and the Outhouse) right after I used the 恐怖爬行者 (which also made many battle pets appear in my garrison).

Easy kill for a lvl 100 and dropped 一袋蜘蛛.

She re-spawned after a few minutes, still with the Silver Dragon portrait, but with no loot. Seems to support the "lootable-once-a-day" theory.

On an alt where I'd already completed the 4 dailies and bought some Creepy Crawlers from Events Coordinator the (to be able to tame the 3 new seasonal battle pets) Arachnis spawned almost straight away.

I wasn't sure if the spawning and the Garrison decorations were linked.

However, on my main I waited for some time and no Arachnis spawned. So I guessed that you have to decorate your Garrison with some seasonal stuff bought from the seasonal currency.

Sure enough, as soon as I did the dailies on my main and bought and used some Creepy Crawlers, Arachnis pops.

I don't know if that was coincidence or if it was specifically the Creepy Crawlers that did it. When I try again I'll buy a different decoration and see what happens.

1. You cannot loot it in raid mode.
2. Loot mode is like a normal mob - Only one player in the group can loot him, and if the toy drops, everyone can roll on it.
3. You can loot him only once per day and per character - Rolling on the toy account for a loot, so if you rolled on the toy and did not win, don't waste your time killing it again.

If you don't auto loot corpse and just take a peek inside, you can kill Arachnis several times, until the 一袋幽灵蜘蛛 drops.

For those confused on the location or how to spawn this rare on Alliance:

Located in the area between the Guard Tower and the Mine in your garrison.

Spawned by Purchasing 恐怖爬行者

Protip: Disable autoloot and if the rare does not drop the toy, walk away and do not loot their trash or common items.They will respawn each 3 minutes giving you additional chances for the toy drop.

So be warned, if you looted their trash/common items, you will be locked and unable to loot them until the following day.

Looks like Blizzard hotfixed the loot trick. Now it seems if you don't loot Arachnis, the loot gets sent to your mail and additional Arachnis spawns aren't lootable. However, even with this change, you still get 2 attempts before the first Arachnis corpse despawns and the mail is sent.

So, after the first Arachnis kill, if the toy does not drop, stay with the corpse so it does not despawn prematurely, and you will be able to kill the next spawn and check it's loot.

Blizzard just Ninja patched Arachnis' again, this time reducing their corpse despawn timer. Now despawns in 2 minutes rather than over 5 minutes, thus preventing a 2nd loot.

However, much like how you can cheese your way to getting both of the Illidari tabards in Outland by just peeking inside the box you get, you can cheese this rare by not looting (i.e just peeking) the corpse. Doing this will not lock you and thus you can kill it over and over until you get the toy.

Be super cautious looting, make sure you loot _NOTHING_ or only your toy. we've had a number of people loot grey trash first, and be unable to loot the toy or white bag.

In order to get this to spawn, you need to have Creepy Crawlers in your garrison.

You don't have to be in your own Garrison to farm this rare. A friend with creepy crawlers active on their Garrison can invite you and you can kill it in theirs. (make sure loot is set to free for all)

兰蛛 is a rare spawn that is part of the Hallow's Eve 2015 holiday event. He spawns in your garrison as a "rare" if you use the 恐怖爬行者 garrison decoration, and has a chance to drop the toy 一袋幽灵蜘蛛. Note that as long as your garrison has this decoration active (any time of the year!) this rare spawn will be present in your garrison and can be killed once daily.
恐怖爬行者 is one of 5 decorations that can be purchased and applied to your garrison, available for this holiday event.

All of the decorations can be purchased for 恐怖补给品 from the vendor 伊兹·冬沫. In the Horde garrison she is standing at the center by the fire, and in the Alliance garrison she is next to the water fountain at the center.

Applying 恐怖爬行者 to your garrison causes two things to happen:

The rare spawn 兰蛛 appears in your garrison.
Battle pets spawn all over your garrison. These are all one of 3 halloween related battle pets, that are not obtainable elsewhere, and can be captured:

兰蛛 has 978k health and is non-hostile until engaged. Other than melee attacks, it uses one ability - 蛛网冲击. This ability places a number of webs on the ground around your character - staying out of them is an easy matter if you do not move at all. If you stand in the webs, you gain 蛛网冲击 - you take nature damage and are slowed significantly.
All in all, this rare is very easy to kill.

Here are some further notes on this mob:

兰蛛 spawns every 5 minutes at the same spot:

Horde - (56,88), outside and south of your garrison, up the hill, towards the outhouse and east of your herb garden (near the lava pool).

Alliance - (74,34) outside and east of your garrison, between the guard tower and the mine, to the right of the training dummies.

You do not need to kill him in your own garrison. You may visit another player's garrison with 恐怖爬行者 active to kill him, and you can loot him with Free-for-all loot active.

While you cannot activate this decoration without a level 3 garrison, your lower level (90-99) alts can visit another garrison to kill and loot 兰蛛

The toy 一袋幽灵蜘蛛 drop rate is less than 10%.
The toy is not Bind on Pickup, and it can be traded or bought/sold on the Auction House.
You can only loot 兰蛛 once per day PER CHARACTER. ~~However, there is currently a way to circumvent this in order to get the toy:~~

~~Turn off auto-loot (Interface --> Controls); alternatively leave auto-loot on and hold Shift when looting to manually disable auto-loot.~~
After each kill of the mob, check the corpse for the toy. If it is not in the loot, simply wait for the next spawn and rinse and repeat until you see the toy, at which point you can grab it. It is ESSENTIAL you do not take any loot off the body for this to work - as soon as you loot any item, you can no longer loot him that day. In fact, if you see the toy and other items, take the toy first as there have been reports that only one item can be looted per day!
The above method has been stealth hotfixed - the items from the corpse will now be sent to you in the mail if not looted, and you will receive no loot on subsequent kills in a day. Thus, you can only loot this mob once daily.

This rare also drops 一袋蜘蛛 - this is a currently useless consumable item that does nothing when used (likely glitched).
This toy CAN be looted in a raid group.

Below are listed the other garrison decorations available, and their effects.

先知的请柬	恐怖补给品 X 5	This decoration places 灵谕师艾卡利 in your garrison, along with some 幽灵访客 NPCs that float around.
万圣节之光	恐怖补给品 X 5	This decoration puts pumpkin lanterns and candles all around your garrison.
食尸鬼服装	恐怖补给品 X 5	This decoration changes the appearance of your garrison guards to those of any of the following wands: 万圣节魔棒 - 海盗万圣节魔棒 - 忍者万圣节魔棒 - 麻风侏儒万圣节魔棒 - 骷髅

Some notes about the decorations outlined above:

Each character can buy 1 decoration per day, as the four dailies provide a total of 5 恐怖补给品 per day.
The decorations are account bound, and can be sent to your other characters. As such, you can do the dailies on 4 alts and have all 5 decorations on your main in a single day!
They can only be displayed in a level 3 garrison.
Multiple decorations can be active in your garrison simultaneously.
Right-clicking a decoration to "use" it applies the effect described above to your garrison, and consumes the item. This effectively "unlocks" that decoration for your character, and it will be applied any time you choose after that.
You can speak to 伊兹·冬沫 and select "The party's over. Get rid of these decorations, Izzy." to remove the decorations.

If you have cancelled the garrison decoration as above, speaking to Izzy again and selecting "Make my garrison ready for a Hallow's Eve party." will reapply the decorations.
If you have unlocked more than one decoration, the above actions (to remove or restore the decorations) will do so to ALL decorations, not just selected ones.

The currency for the decorations (enabling you to buy them) is only available during Hallows End. As such, these decorations can only be acquired then. However, the decorations can be applied to your garrison (after you have unlocked them) all year round!

There are 4 daily quests that grant 恐怖补给品, which are used to buy garrison decorations.
All 4 of these quests have objectives in Shadowmoon Valley, at the Isle of Shadows. This little island is located at coordinates (39, 81) and is south west of Socrethar's Rise.

The quests are granted by 奥鲁坎 in your garrison. This NPC stands next to 伊兹·冬沫 at the center of you garrison.

All of the quests require a level 100 character with a level 3 garrison. They all reward 1-2 恐怖补给品. After you have acquired all 5 different decorations, the 恐怖补给品 can be traded to 伊兹·冬沫 1:1 for 奶糖s.

Below is a chart outlining the quests:

邪恶的肥料	恐怖肥料	恐怖补给品 X 1	The 恐怖肥料 are stationary kegs with roughly 900 health each - they can be one shot by most abilities.
白骨船暴乱	裂骨船长	恐怖补给品 X 2	This mini boss has 2 million health. He has a chance to drop the toy 多面硬币. If you do not have flying, you can reach his ship (south of the Isle of Shadows) by a rope on the side facing the island.

You need a level 3 garrison for this, so sending Creepy Crawlers to your low lvl alt won't work.

EDIT: Your lv 90-99 characters can go to a friend's garrison to kill it. Just set the loot on Free For All and let your friend kill the mob.

It looks like they may have "fixed" this rare. If you don't loot him, you'll get the loot in your mailbox when the body despawns.
I didn't try not opening the mail to see if that would still allow me to loot his body on the next kill, but my guess is they're forcing people to only do once per day per character.
Hopefully they've increased the droprate.

As far as I can tell not looting has been fixed.

Items will come to you by Postmaster through the mail and all other attempts at killing will have no loot.

It's also considered Undead so not tamable.

It seems to have been fixed. I've killed it 4 times in a row now and it only gave loot the first time. Even if you don't loot it, the Postmaster will make sure you get it.

I'm wondering how the Wowhead Client collects the drop data (or rather, how the data cache stores the drop data).

Before the recent hotfix, many wouldn't actually loot anything when the toy doesn't drop. Will Wowhead Client only count the one time the corpse is looted, displaying a deceivingly high drop rate of the toy on the Wowhead webpage?

Yesterday I killed Arachnis, it dropped 2 items, a Sack of Spiders and a grey item. I could only loot the Sack but didn't bother about it because the missing item was just a grey Mandible (vendor fodder).

After daily reset, I killed Arachnis again. This time it dropped 3 items, the Sack of Spiders and the Sack of Spectral Spiders toy and a grey Mandible.

It would only allow me to loot one item, the Sack of Spiders was first to hit my bag with auto-loot and the toy and the grey item couldn't be looted.

I submitted a ticket and got a response today:

"Hey there, my name is Game Master Mindistayae and I am here to help you with your issue today.

Looks like you are having trouble looting Arachnis, that stinks as it's hard enough to get cool stuff from rare spawns =D.

There was an issue with using auto-loot when trying to loot Arachnis but that has been fixed recently. If you did not loot the NPC the loot should be in your mailbox.

If you need any further help, feel free to contact us!

Farewell and take care!"

So, the auto-loot function was the issue.

They seem to have made it once per day per account. I killed it earlier on my warlock, changed to my hunter and found someone with it up. When I saw it on my hunter, it didn't show as a rare - just as a normal mob that dropped no loot.

**** Edit - although I couldn't loot the mob when it died, today when I logged in I had mail from the postmaster with a sack of spiders. Apparently it is/was bugged.

When you purchase the 恐怖爬行者 from 伊兹·冬沫 it will add Halloween battle pets to your garrison such as the 幽灵老鼠 , 幽灵蛆虫 and 幽灵织网蛛.
It will also add a rare called 兰蛛 which will spawn by your garrisons herb garden. 兰蛛 is a lvl 100 rare spider with 978k health and is easily killable. The spider has a chance to drop 一袋幽灵蜘蛛 if your lucky or 一袋蜘蛛 if your unlucky.

HOT FIXED.
Here's the Trick: Kill the rare but DO NOT AUTO LOOT. Loot and check what it has. If the toy isn't there then DO NOT LOOT ANYTHING. Leave the spider and it will respawn within 3 or 4 minutes for another shot at getting the toy. Rinse and repeat until you get the toy. If you loot the corpse and the toy wasn't there then you will have to wait another day for another chance at getting the toy.

*At the moment there seems to be a loot bug so always LOOT THE TOY FIRST as you may not be able to loot anything else. This bug has been reported by players and experienced by myself.

This mob appears to been hotfixed on EU realms. If you don't loot him, the postmaster will send you your loot.

In the alliance garrison, better attack from the shore side. Avoids getting too close to the training dummies. Killed me twice as a cloth wearer.

Do the dailys to get the amount of spooky supplies needed for the Creepy Crawlers decoration pack for your garrison. Buy the package from Izzy Hollyfizzle and use it. Then head over to Arachnis and kill him.
It can now only be done once a day, even if you loot him or not, so if you don't get the toy, you will have to wait a day and try again.

on Alliance be careful with positioning. bodyguards have a nasty habit of catching the tanking training dummy in aoe causing them to be killed by it (usually after Arachnis is dead though)

So, newsflash.

Hallow's End was supposed to end on November 1st 11.00 am.
Yet 2 hours past this deadline, I'm still seeing Arachnis in all my garrisons.

Is this just a bug that will be corrected with next week's maintenance, or can we conclude these decorations are permanent and will stay active even outside the holiday events?

The Hallow's End event is over now, but this NPC and all of the wild pets from the garrison upgrade package are still around. I wonder how long they'll stay...

After killing and looting this several times since I got the decoration, it has dropped nothing but a sack of spiders and a mandible. I'm guessing the toy or pet drop rate is really low. I haven't had any problems looting, but am just very unlucky with any decent drops. :(

Anyone know how to remove this NPC from npcscan? It pops up as an alert everytime I get close to the damn bug just to do my dailies. I tried to look it up on the list to remove it but can't find it anywhere. Checked all tabs, by ID and name but he doesn't seem to be there yet I get the alert.

Since you can leave decorations up after Halloween, the spider stays in the garrison until you get rid of the decorations.

Can anyone confirm if the spider can still drop the toy outside of the holiday window, because he does still drop loot as of Nov 23 2015.

Arachnis seems no longer to be around as of 19 December.

edit: Figured it out. Arachnis isn't actually gone. The garrison simply switched its decorations to Winter Veil and it needs to be set to Hallow's Eve. Izzy Hollfizzle can be used to switch it and Arachnis will be back.

Just logged on to the new patch (omg addons everywhere D: ), and started a quick alt hop.
My DK has this guy in his garrison, and I usually wander over when I remember and 1shot him for a chance at the toy (to sell, which it does quite nicely :) ).

Due to the level squish and revamp, this spider is now lvl 50, and isn't 1shottable anymore D:
I had to actually pull a full rotation that lasted a couple mins... YMMV, this alt is very low geared

Tl,dr: This rare now scales to lvl 50 (possibly even 60... who knows) to match you. No longer a 1shot cakewalk

Is this' scaling bugged? I was 50 and it was almost possible to kill me. It also had very high HP for a mob of draenor.

This randomly scales to 60 now. Probably due to it being somehow flagged as a holiday mob instead of WoD since it is tied to a degree to Halloween.

At level 60, ilvl 149, I used all my mana and cooldowns killing this ugly spider. I don't remember him being this difficult to kill.
