Another in-game reference to Brode is the
, which features the flavor text: "The title reads 'The Brode to Nowhere.'"
Dat beard doe.
Also sells Hearthstone
When you speak to him, he says
I am SUPER excited to be here today!
If you say "Me too!", he replies
Hope you draw some lucky hands today!
...and gives you a big thumbs up!
What a nice guy!
(Senior Game Designer for Hearthstone) also has a credits card in that game: . Note the same chequered shirt. These guys did their research!
Even though he is a human, Benjamin visits Horde garrisons as well, slowly walking through. He is wearing a male Orc Hallows End mask to blend in...
According to his
article, the third item listed under Wowhead's "sells" tab (pack of hearthstone cards) is not available. It was a late-stage beta item that failed to make it to release.
Just in case anyone else came here and was puzzling over only ever seeing two items for sale.
Edit: additionally, he shows up once you upgrade your garrison to level three.
While I appreciate how he sneakily wears an Orc mask in order to peddle his wares on my very Horde garrison, hearing him say, "for the Alliance" kind of kills the idea that he's trying to be incognito. He should probably avoid arousing my suspicion by blatantly rooting for the opposite faction.
aka Superman in Lumberjack Clark Kent disguise.
I need those glasses wish they were available to players, may be one day.
Am I the only RP'ing Horde player that's really ticked off about this guy blatantly blundering about in my garrison? Is it really too much to ask that they popped in an orc? I know he's named after Ben Brode, but... Seriously, I wanna cut off his head and put it on a spike outside my garrison!
I have to admit...I have a bit of a crush on Benjamin.
Just a friendly orc lumberjack who is SUPER excited to walk around my Garrison in Frostwall. Nothing suspicious here :)
I BOUGHT ALL YOUR CRAP, BEN. WHY ARE YOU STILL HANGING AROUND HERE?
I was hoping that 'Me too!' would lead to something awesome. : (
Is it just me or do you expect him to go, "HI, I'M BILLY MAYES FOR HEARTHSTONE!" He's a handsome fellow.
What we need now is a Tauren merchant in a gnome mask wandering through Alliance garrisons...
Blizzard should play Ben Brode's trademark contagious hearty laugh when you click on this NPC along with the "EmoteLaugh" Animation, I can listen to his laugh for hours.
Google "Ben Brode Laughs: Hearthstone World Championship 2014 Edition" (YouTube) for Ben Brode's trademark contagious hearty laugh.
Oddly really creeps me out, this guy.
could blow his cover?
Hm. Yep. This guy is just as useless as I thought. I have better things to spend my gold on.
Saw this Lumberjack walking through my fort and wondered how he managed to get such a cool looking mask. I had high hopes until I realized he was peddling another blizz game item, yep who doesn't want to buy those,,I mean really ) I almost dug up a jar of moldy gold for those prime items but alas I forgot where I buried it, oh the pains of getting old :))
Each day I notice my in game pets following Benjamin around the garrison. They have all gathered into one pile inside my Inn to stand under his feet. I believe he may be the pied piper in disguise.
He's not trying all that hard to blend in - "For the Alliance"
I need to have a serious talk with my guards about letting in suspicious visitors.
, who gives out the Grizzly Hills music roll.
something interesting about him is that he actively try to avoid collision with the players.
Hey there, don't be scared, my name is Ben Brode
Probably not a coincidence, but this NPC is much taller than ordinary NPCs: this is likely because Ben Brode himself is quite tall, at 194cm (6ft4,5"), and the NPC was designed to reflect this.
Ben Brode has now left Blizzard, but rest assured, he will always be excited to be here in your garrison. Farewell, mate.
Bejamin Brode is only available with a level 3 garrison. After walking around for several minutes with my level 2 garrison, I found this bit of info, after upgrading to 3, he was immediately there.
As of patch 8.3, he no longer wears his mask in the Horde Garrison.
UPDATE: It should be mentioned that he does put on the mask (
according to combat log
) but it is no appearing on his face as it did before. So it is possible that it is a glitch that is causing it to no longer show versus being a deliberate change by Blizzard.
