The skeletons always come from the same side. The tank can hang out opposite where the skeletons spawn and just let the empty gap pass them. Makes dropping a Malevolence on the group a lot less likely.

Imagine an adventurer's journey in his life so far in Azeroth.

Classic: Acquire Sulfuras, Thunderfury, Corrupted Ashbringer & Atiesh.

TBC: Acquire The Bladefist, Gorehowl, Warglaives, Skull of Gul'dan and Thori'dal. Kill Shade of Aran with Atiesh.

Wrath: Acquire Val'anyr and Shadowmourne. Arthas dies to retconned Ashbringer :(

Cata: Kill Al'akir with Thunderfury, Kill Ragnaros with Sulfuras, Acquire Dragonwrath and Fangs of the Father, Kill Deathwing with Fangs (though he technically died to Dragon Soul).

I'm not a raider, but hardest dungeon I've been in. The group wiped twice on Sadana, then 9 times on Ner'zhul before I finally gave up. We had a strategy but at least one person died EVERY time Ner'zhul summoned his adds. The most we got through as a group was 3 or 4 summons, getting boss down to maybe about half health.

This is the hardest fight I've ever done. My entire group just left after we all died for the 5th or 6th time. The summoned skeletons is what would always do us in, we might make it through the 2nd or 3rd summons, but then someone would always die.

I had a close call a few days ago. A group I was in fought Ner'zhul, and died, like 4 times, however on the 5th time we had some pretty good team work taking on the boss killing one of the adds and so on and so forth. That is until our healer died. Well we all panicked and the others started focusing only on the boss so when the adds showed up I ended up being the only one attacking them. I couldn't kill it and we thought we would die again when they took down the boss just before the adds could finish their sweep.

CHALLENGE MODE TIPS

Some of the following neat tricks require specific classes, but can shave time off to let you snag that Gold you may be gunning for!

Obviously these tips can also be used on Normal, Heroic, or Mythic difficulties, although they are not as necessary.

莎达娜·血怒

If you move Saldana outside of the ring of runes towards the entrance to the room, you can effectively avoid having to the kill 被亵渎的幽灵 throughout the encounter and focus all DPS on her. You will have to dodge 天降之匕 when they spawn, but the range for each is only 4 yards, so it is easy to avoid.
被亵渎的幽灵s are adds that walk slowly towards the boss during 黑暗契约, and will heal and buff the boss if they reach her before her channel of 黑暗契约 is complete (it is 20 seconds long). If the add DOES NOT reach her by the end of the cast, it despawns!

Position a player inside the circle of runes to be positioned to deal with the add when it spawns.

The best class to assign to the add is a 猎人. 束缚射击 is extremely effective if used when the add spawns, with 震荡射击 following to keep it slowed until it despawns.

Although I have not tested this personally, a 萨满祭司 may be able to do the same with the use of , 陷地图腾/, and subsequently with +/- 雷霆风暴.

TL;DR: Slow, root and stun the 被亵渎的幽灵 add for the duration of 黑暗契约 to avoid having to waste DPS on killing it.

During 虚空灭绝, when purple pools spawn all over the ground and must be avoided, the use of the reflective abilities can put a MASSIVE DoT on the boss, thus shortening the encounter significantly.

Abilities that work include:

To make use of this, pop the appropriate reflective ability, and stand in a purple void zone until it disappears to put the DoT on the boss. Be sure not to stand in any other pools!

The WeakAura at the bottom of this post can be used to more easily track when is active. It can be modified for other abilities.

TL;DR: Reflect a purple pool onto the boss during 虚空灭绝 if you have such an ability.

During the 仪式枯骨, a 猎人 or 萨满祭司 can COMPLETELY negate this mechanic, thus saving you a lot of DPS which would have been wasted on the 仪式枯骨 add.

Abilities that work include:

To execute this, when 仪式枯骨 starts, the shaman should use (or the hunter use 威慑) and then that player should STAND IN the purple ground effect behind the 仪式枯骨 skeleton. This will reflect the damage onto that add, thus clearing a space for your group WITHOUT even attacking it at all! Keep in mind that the add will take a few seconds to die, as it needs to take a couple ticks of damage.

As 仪式枯骨 comes every 50-55 seconds or so, a hunter can handle two consecutive rituals, and a third if is talented (if 威慑 is used early in the first 仪式枯骨, it should be off CD late in the third one). A shaman can handle every 仪式枯骨 phase even with a glyphed .

Note: In theory, this should also work with 法术反射/, although I haven't tested it. The uncertainty lies in the fact that 2 ticks of damage are required to kill the 仪式枯骨 add, so this ability may not be enough.

To use it, you need to install the WeakAuras 2 addon, then do the following:

Type /wa in chat to open the WeakAura interface
Click New, then select Import
Copy the text in the following code box and paste it into the WeakAura import field, then click Done
Click the "Import" button on the confirmation in the middle of the screen to add the aura

To modify the aura to work for a buff like 威慑 or 法术反射, do the following:

Select the "Trigger" tab
Change the "Type" to Aura
In the "Aura Name or ID" box, type the name of the buff (e.g. 群体反射) and click "Okay"
Make sure the "Unit" dropdown shows "Player, and the "Aura Type" is "Buff"

Has anyone else had problems with loot drops from Ner'zhul since the legion pre-patch? Several times on different toons he hasn't even been clickable for me. Sent in a ticket and the GM response was that he only drops 3 pieces of loot and i just got the short straw, except he dropped 4 pieces of loot each time and i was the only one who didn't get anything.

Got the Shadowmoon Illusion on the 6th run, all normal. Sometimes he drops loot, sometimes he doesn't. That just means he dropped loot you weren't eligible for. All 6 times I skipped the worm and the purple ghost bosses. Doesn't matter if they aggro. Just ignore everything and run through the instance top speed. 110's can take it.
