This is a robust rare elite trio, they patrol the pathway between the two intact bridge up in the Blazing Way area. Solo them is somewhat challenging especially if you're melee.
If you're interested in this or any of the other rare elites on the timeless isle, head over to the
Wowhead Rare Elite Guide
for more information including maps and loot lists.
For those of you hunting rares, here's a little help. Copy them all, or just take the ones you need. I've arranged them by location, so you will have to adjust the macro spacing on your own (sorry!):

These co-ordinates do
include spawn locations for:
he circles the Isle very quickly in a clockwise pathing.
they are common spawns found all around the lower forest.
they are common spawns found all around the lower forest.
Also, NPC's with 2 marked spawn points, such as the
Great Turtle Furyshell, Monstrous Spineclaw, Bufo, Python
etc. are known to spawn in multiple areas between or around those two points. So the co-ordinates I've listed are more of a point of reference than a place to stationary camp.
**I've tried for the best accuracy I could, but if you notice I've missed anyone or listed any co-ordinates very wrong, please let me know and I'll fix it asap**
Gygz - Zul'jin US
Taluka - Zul'jin US
Please let me confirm that twice I have seen them spawn at the start of the broken bridge, heading towards blazing way. It is very rare they make it down the first bridge to blazing way before they are killed.
Best of luck to you all.
Soloing as rogue:
Get in stealth, then blind one of them.
The other 2 will merrily just walk away as normal.
Wait for the timer to almost get to zero just incase the other 2 come rushing to help (which in my case they didn't).
Then just burn it down. Hits like a paper towel and you'll remain at full health if you just move 6 yds away when casting its main attack.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy
With any 10% reputation buff as a Horde player, I received 33 reputation with
from each Champion, gaining a total of 99 reputation.
Edit: changed due to guild perk removal.
Link to his weapons:
Easy to solo these guys as a feral Druid. Entangling Roots one, the other two will keep walking. Take him out, and avoid his two fire abilities. Don't move too far away when he does, or he'll stun you. Afterward you can just move onto the next one, do the same thing.
One of them stopped to wait for the other when I rooted him, not sure what that was about, but I could root the other one without them both stopping.
This is only if you're lucky enough to get all three down before other players take them out, since one-at-a-time takes a while.
Usually I receive 34 rep per champion, for a total of 102. That being said, I only received 14 rep per champion today. Anybody know why this might've happened?
Interestingly if you kill the Black Champions they count as three rares rather than one. Handy for
The rare elite version of the Burning Beserker. Comes in 3s and patrols The Blazing Way. Uses the same moveset as the Burning Beserker, only stronger, rarer and in a group. Go too far away and charges you for high fire damage, and Burning cleave hurts if you stand in it so don't. But that's easier said than done with 3 of them at once.
Tricky to solo, but as a survival hunter I was able to take down one while distracting shot one to take the stress off my pet. Was hard, pet almost died, but handled that one. Then someone else came over and helped me with the other two.
After extensive camping and hunting of multiple rares on Timeless Isle, I'm coming to believe the respawn on these is linked to
, comparable with the other un-named rares on Timeless Isle. (Emerald Gander, Imperial Python, Monstrous Spineclaw, Ironfur Steelhorn.)
Edit: Reasoning would be that they seem to spawn every 5-30 minutes during peak time, and never spawn at all during the night except if someone is farming the
I'm not surprised no one noticed this, but champion of the black flame seems is what event organizers for the WoW TCG were called. Could be a bit of a nod to the ol' TCG, seeing as it saw its last set recently.
I've been just AFK camping these guys on my second account and I can confirm now that the
spawn timer is on average 45 minutes
. The shortest respawn was approximately 33-35 minutes while the longest respawn was approximately 58 minutes.
If you do this method - kill them and consider your next 30 minutes free to AFK until you need to start paying attention for a respawn.
Tip 1: Preferably use a character with stealth because this is the Timeless Isle and there are plenty of people who want your head on a stick for bloody coins.
Tip 2: I bought a kitchen count up/count down timer to help with the timing of each spawn. I used a timer on my watch as well (phone works just as nice) but I choose these two methods so I could have a quick and easy at-a-glance view of how long it's been since the last kill (this allowed me to step away for a while to walk the dog or get something to eat downstairs)
Tip 3: If you're at your computer and have NPC scan then a good way to gauge how long it's been since your last kill is to buff yourself but only after you kill. For me I'd buff Mark of the Wild and stealth near their spawn point (at the top of the bridge) and the hour buff would give me a clear indication how much time has passed since the last kill.
You have 30 minutes of AFK before the game puts you to character screen, after that the buff timer is ineffective for accurately measuring your kill cycles so I'd go with both stopwatch/phone and buff just because those are the easiest and most readily available to most
Good luck all
I agree with the idea of killing than AFKing for 30 mins. I did this and never missed a kill. The biggest issue is you have to really stay on top of this rare because of where he spawns its a very high traffic path. Good luck.
Starting spawn point is /way 61.1 46.7 Champion of the Black Flame
