This is the mob you need to defeat for the quest
Bad Feeling, Worse Result
Running the instance on normal or heroic has no effect on this mob.
Managed to kill as a 510 assasination Rogue with a little help from a prot Warrior.
Focused mostly on dodging his spell and keeping Recouperate up, he doesn´t hit very hard but his boiling broth and Dash if Spice is dangerous!
Don`t give up, he is soloable!
Easily soloable fury warrior ilvl 512, had 94% health at end.
With a voidwalker out, I was able to solo this on heroic as an ilevel 489 affliction lock. As long as you pay attention to the stuff on the ground and the stuff flying around, it's not too bad. Just make sure to heal up any time you take damage from something.
Managed to solo him in the heroic dungeon iLevel 506 elemental shaman. The key to this fight is to stay mobile, and keep an eye on him. Here is some additional information on the guy:
He is immune to stuns. He will spin when casting his Boiling Broth ability, but not while channeling it. His Dash of Spice creates pools of fire on the ground that do not disappear. His Noodle spell is moderately harmless on its own creating a spot on the ground which slows you down.
From my experience he will always cast Noodle, then Boiling Broth, then Dash of Spice. Avoid these spells and the flying items and he will go down very nicely.
Soloed this today as a 512 hunter. I died on my first couple attempts, but on my third attempt took 0 damage.
hits everything in front of him, and it looks like this has a pretty long range (at least about 30 yards). So I made sure to DPS him from the side or from behind while my pet tanked. I suspect the actual ability is channeled, so non-hunters should be able to run behind him while he's channeling, and avoid the damage.
creates fiery void zones on the ground, but the location where he's going to place these is indicated beforehand by a small arrow on the ground. So just watch out for these and don't run into them.
looks like a circle of cobwebs on the floor.
Obviously, you should avoid the flying bowls - they hit for around 125k.
In case anyone missed it, this guy is a shout out to the old A-Team TV series. Specifically, the episode Recipe for Heavy Bread.
Seems a Vietnamese cook at the prison camp the team was confined in at one point in the back-story liked to sneak food to the men the camp commander was trying to starve into submission. The name of the cook? Lin Duk Coo.
must be bugged. when he casts Boiling Broth, I was on the other side of the area, being sure not to be standing in anything, and he still killed me.
I was able to solo him as an arms warrior Ilvl 531 with
1. Charge and burst; he will only throw the bowls which I ignored.
2. He will channel
just move behind him and continue dpsíng.
3. He should be close to death by now; just move from bad stuff on the floor at the end and you will be fine.
I had 150k dps with battleshout, no other buffs.
Hope this tactic helps for some; if you are having trouble take some flasks and healthpotions.
Stay mobile, but take care to stay on the balcony/upper platform area. He will reset if you go down the stairs to the Sha room in pursuit of more space.
ETA: Since posting this comment, a wall has been added to prevent pulling him into the Sha room, but it can take a minute to spawn, so be aware of where you are standing.
Soloed as a Ret Pally, i527
Stayed mobile, avoiding everything he throws around
Seal of Insight + Divine Storm + the odd FoL chucked in for good measure and ground him down
When he starts casting Boiling Breath just go behind him and intense dps
I tried this - seemed easy enough until i got caught up on a corner of the balcony and died. Unfortunately, I did this in a LFG and when i released the instance reset.
Get some buddies together for this one and avoid any headaches.
Tried soloing as 510 SV Hunter, didn't move out of the way of the Boiling Broth so died a miserable death. Switched to BM, pet didn't drop below 97% hp entire fight with no mends used. Stupid easy.
A 90 priest in my group had this quest and only I, the tank and him remained to fight the boss. The other two died very quickly so I summoned out my voidwalker in order to try to solo the boss.
The voidwalker took almost no damage from any aoe or melee from the boss I could just dps the boss while occasionally healing my voidwalker. The biggest thing to look out for were the noodles that flew around the stage and did 100k per hit. By the end of the fight my CD on soulstone was up so I brezed the priest at about 2 million hp remaining but could have solo'd the rest of the fight.
If you are having trouble with this quest find a warlock buddy who can dodge moving objects because I was only iLvl 397 at level 87 and did 5 million damage solo.
Solo'd him as a 496 ilvl Guardian Druid.
Avoided the Firey Doom On Floor, tossed a quick Rejuvenation on myself while he was busy with his frontal Breath attack, and used Barkskin & Survival Instincts liberally. Had to use Renewal once, and a healing potion. Didn't pay much attention to the Flying Pot Things. It took two tries (wasn't fast enough in moving out of Bad-On-Floor the first round) but in the end my fluffy bear self was victorious.
My group left after we've done this instance and then I have noticed that there is this quest.
First when I saw this guy with 7M health I thought that I don't have a chance but I tried it anyway and could solo him with my Assassin Rogue (529ilvl).
Soloed the guy as a 520 Balance Druid and succeded on my second attempt. Found the corners to be helpful to avoid the flying stuff.
I defeated him with a 512 destro lock.My pet was smart enough to avoid his key abilities. My advice is to trie to avoid boiling broth and also the flying frying pans. I wiped twice before killing him so dont be frustrated if you die a couple of times
I soloed with my 461 BM hunter, pet tanked whilst I tried to avoid rising threat. Worked a treat.
I pushed back against the edge of the perimeter, which helped avoid the little flying black things which seemed to do a lot of damage.
Otherwise this was a fairly easy solo as a 532 restoration shaman. It took a while as a healer, but I was never really concerned about my HP.
Was in a group with a random level 90 when he spawned, I aggroed thinking everyone else would help, they promptly left, but was able to solo this as a level 86 Blood DK (ilvl 377). Didn't die but almost did many times, just spammed
for the self healing. It was very much stay away for the AOE and just self heal like crazy
