This bird hits around 50K with its melee, and casts an ability called Skycall, which deals about 200K nature damage to anything in a cone in front of it. It's a very wide cone, so to avoid it, you have to strafe while rotating towards the direction you're strafing- just running through it didn't seem to work.
It dropped 15
I've been using these to farm for my bones with a friend. He's a Blood DK and I'm a Windwalker Monk.
He will usually pull several of these mobs, and I'll Fists of Fury them when available, while making sure to Chi burst when they get off Skycall so that it heals him. The DPS should stand behind these mobs while your friend tanks so that you will not get hit at all, and that's why Chi Wave is very effective with it, since it mostly (if not all) heals him.
While FoF works on them, Leg Sweep doesn't. They can be CC'd with Paralysis but we haven't needed to do that yet. Furthermore, we don't have to really use any cooldowns with this. When we pull several, I'll still use some of mine, but it's not necessary :)
We managed to get about 700 bones in an hour by doing this, so if you have a friend willing to help, these seem to be good mobs to farm. Of course, we're melee, so I'm not sure if it's easier or harder with casters/other class combos.
A warrior with a healer had A LOT of trouble killing these with our method, so perhaps it's strictly for a tank spec with a geared DPS?
We also kill the baby dinosaurs, they seem much easier than this mob but drop less bones (9). We can live against the bigger dinosaurs, but since I'm our only DPS, I just don't kill them as fast as I would like. So this mob is ideally the best for us, and probably anyone else looking to grind in a decent amount of time, whom is lacking a full group.
I'm sure there's other ways even more simpler than mine to kill these. But this is just what we're doing and it works for us. Hope it helps!
These seem to have a high crit chance, so if you're a pet class, be ready to revive your pet a lot.

These mobs are found on the
Isle of Giants

Giant Dinosaur Bones
. They have an ability named
which hits really hard, but is easily avoided.
Farming these for bones is pretty viable, as long as you are paying enough attention to dodge Skycall.
In my opinion, these are the easiest of the big ones to solo. As a druid cat, it is a very easy fight, just run through it on skycall. Very similar to fighting the Mogu Warrior rare spawns. One frontal cone attack that you can easily avoid, even a little self-healing will take care of the rest.
This mob crits stupidly often, I can fight them and take one down to 10% with 50% health left, and then he gets 3 crits in a row and I die instantly.
Wouldn't it be awesome if these beasts are tameable for hunters? I hope they will make this posible in one of the following patches
As a warrior these are quite easy to handle.
Start in battlestance, and fire your wombo-combo. When you start to drop low, switch to defensive, and pop your Die By the Sword. Your Second Wind should be able to hold you up, and you will get a easy 14-16 bones + 1.2% chance for Egg.
It seems that they attack 5-6 times and then uses Skycall. The skycall charge time will give your HP a chance to get up to 35%+.
Have fun farming these, I would recommend item level 490+ farming these. :)
A protwar in defstance can solo pairs with second wind. Drag them out a bit (use mount) then circlestrafe around the for the entire fight's duration. A million laps later you've got a pile of bones.
If your gear isn't fancy, tap shieldbarrier when you dip. Better gear, use demo/trinket, or nothing at all. Enjoy soaking the damage, you get free vengeance.
I swap to the healthy foe when first one's a bit under 50%. I normally spec storm bolt+shockwave for utility, but go bloodbath+bladestorm and use a killmode macro.
I favor a rotation through the three pairs nearest
, who will take potshots at your passing if you're horde.
Ranged DPS is welcome, melee buddies are on their own. Bring
Drums of Forgotten Kings
, elixirs, foodbuff, whatever runescroll of fortitude you want, then battleshout. Then grind forever.
I suppose afflicted players may actually become physically dizzy after holding down strafe so long; you should stop and reconsider this strat if so.
While it hits my hunter for ~50k, it somehow hits by pet for ~150k, causing me to resort to direhorns for bone farming. Unsure if this applies to non-BM hunters and other pet classes.
