My raid group has just begun doing this after the restarts. I will update this as we go along with the encounter. This info is probably not the best way of doing things but its how we are doing it and I thought I would share it. It will be brief as I am raiding at the same time lol.
Edit 1: DBM does not seem to show a Berserk timer. It is 10 minutes.
Edit 2: DBM needs an update as it doesnt really show much of the encounter.
On pulling the boss will go to one of the 3 platforms. North is mind control, left is disks, right is shields. Boss always goes to a random one on pulling. He changes every 20% until 40% where he will go phase 2.
女皇赞歌
- Whenever Imperial Vizier Zor'lok finishes a transition he will raise his voice in praise to the empress. Failing to engage Imperial Vizier Zor'lok in melee combat will result in him inflicting Physical damage to all players in the zone until they die. Engaging Imperial Vizier Zor'lok in melee combat will end this effect.
PHASE 1
狂热信息素
- The middle area under the 3 platforms will be full of toxic Pheromones of Zeal. Looks like festerguts blight. Players in the area suffer 28500 damage per second and are silenced for as long as they are in the area.
吐气
- When a member of the raid group is targetted, get the tank to intercept this. (Stand between the boss and player so that the beam hits you)
音波衰减
- He will throw out a bunch of sonic like disks. Dodge the disks. Best way to do it is move around the boss in a circle and be careful, some do ricochet. Dont hug the wall.
力与魄
- He will summon 3 shields. Get under one. In 10 man no more than 4 under one shield. Split the raid in 3 groups (4, 3, 3). He will inflict 138750 to 161250 physical damage to all players every 1 seconds for 10 sec. Players standing in the shield suffer 40% less damage from this ability. Be warned, the damage is still pretty heavy under the shield so heals need to keep up with this.
策反
- He will Mind control a person. This is just like Sha of Anger. Get the person down to 50% to break it.
PHASE 2
When Imperial Vizier Zor'lok reaches 40% remaining health, he flies to the center of the chamber and inhales the
狂热信息素
. Imperial Vizier Zor'lok now uses all of his abilities from Stage One.
吸气
– Imperial Vizier Zor'lok inhales all of the Pheromones in the chamber, increasing his damage by 10% and haste by 20%.

except for the bubbles, this boss is a joke. you'll learn to do the void disc spirals in a matter of 1 or 2 pulls. The bubbles however caused us alot and alot of problems

Had approximately 29 attempts' on this boss with a PuG and I can say it is quite challenging at first, as soon as you get the hang of the Shield platform it really is a lot easier.
Our group consisted of 1 Tank, 3 Healers and 6 DPS, unfortunately we didn't have a shadow priest so our druid tank could use symbiosis on him/her :( That would help immensely on this fight, especially during Phase 2 where it REALLY get's messy!
We had a lot of few % wipes but due to the insane damage the boss does with his Physical AoE (which he channels when he places the shields down) that in itself act's as a soft enrage, and you will wipe very quickly if your healers don't get into position and preemptively pop defensive/throughput CD's. (Not sure if he has a berserk, we didn't get one at least form our wipes)
Our best try was 4% so we'll be going back tomorrow to try kill him, very fun fight though with lots to watch out for :)
Our group was around 468-478 ilvl, with the DPS pulling just under 60k each.
A summary of the fight:
- On the pull he will go to a random platform (for us it was always either east (shield platform) or west (Disk platform)
-Phase 1:
If Shield platform have your group split into 3 "teams" which will take a shield each, the shields spawn randomly so the easiest way we sorted them was to have the melee+tank go inside the shield which was closest to the boss, have "team 2" take the shield that was just outside melee range and have "team 3" take the shield furthest away from the boss, this way you won't have too many people in 1 shield and there won't be any confusion as to who goes where. Take note: >>>Only 4 can enter a shield and utilize the damage reduction it offers<<<
The boss will also cast Exhale during the entire fight which will target a random raid member and stun them as well as dealing a lot of damage, your tank should break the beam by moving in front of the boss and the player being targeted, take note healers: >>>the tank will take moderate damage so be ready with big heals<<<
Split CD's so you don't waste them all healing 1 shield phase, you should only have 2 shield phases during the Shield platform, then once boss reaches 80% (was actually more like 75% for us) he will move to the OPPOSITE platform, so in this case he went from shield to Disc.
When Disc Platform, this is relatively easy:
- Don't be near a wall
- Stay about 10 yards or so from the boss as any further out and you risk being hit by more disks
- Think of it as across between Atramades in BWD and Alystrazor in Firelands, once you see it you will understand :P
Once boss reaches 60% he will then fly over to the last platform which will ALWAYS (atleast for us) be the North Platform (Mind Control) here random players will get Mind Controlled and you must damage them below 50% to break it, this is the easiest platform out of the 3 to execute at least.
-Phase 2:
From here, when boss reaches around 40% (was generally about 43% for us) he will fly into the middle and suck up all the Pheromones of Zeal, the orange stuff :P Now you will get every ability from all platforms in this phase as well as the boss doing more damage and hitting faster so you really have to use CD's very well. We just used the tactics for each individual platform and just combined them, if you like. This is where you will want to pop Bloodlust/TW and the like aswell as DPS CD's and pot's.
Goodluck on the fight and I hope you have a bit more luck/gear than we did! :)

Imperial Vizier Zor'lok is a two phased encounter with 3 subphases in the beginning:
We used 1 tank, 3 healer and 6 DD.
The boss flies above the area, where you are supposed to kill him and can only be pulled with damage, so dont be afraid to get close to him, even if this is not necessary.
Phase 1
In the first phase the boss flies randomly to one of the 3 platforms, and stays there until he has lost 20% of his HP. You have 10 seconds to move to the platform, where Zor'lok is standing, and engage him in melee combat before he finishes his spell
女皇赞歌
which will most likely kill your raid within seconds.
During the whole phase the middle of the room is flooded with a gascloud called
狂热信息素
which silences your raid and deals little nature damage.
Zor'lok gains different abilities for each platform, so he is very predictable. In addition to those abilities he casts
吸气
which increases the damage he does with exhale by 50%. This cast cannot be interrupted.
吐气
is the corresponding casts, which stuns a random target and deals high damage to that target. This spell looks like a yellow ray which has to be absorbed by the tank simply running into it. While the boss channels this spell he cannot do any other abilities.
With a viewpoint of walking down the stairs to the bossarea those platforms give the following abilities:
Left -
音波衰减
When Imperial Vizier Zor'lok casts
音波衰减
he will create small moving circles (called sonic rings) which deal moderate damage and can be avoided. The animation of those circles is similar to Atramedes ability. Those sonic rings can be reflected from walls, so watch out when standing away from him.
There are two easy ways to avoid those rings:
Just run in a circle around Zor'lok, since he creates thos in a helix form.
Step left and right and hope to finish some short casts before you have to move.
Center -
策反
When standing on the center platfrom, Zor'lok tries to mindcontroll two players in 10 man mode (in 25 obviosly more) which have to brought down to 50% HP to break the mind control. Watch out, those targets can be killed, so don't try to burst them down too fast. In addition the mindcontrol can be broken early with some luck.
Here are some thoughts, which can help your raid a lot:
Remove any knockback effects like
雷霆风暴
with their corresponding glyphs, since a mind controlled player can knock you into the
狂热信息素
.
Don't put to much dots on the mind controlled targets, your healers will thank you. (Remember warlocks, dispelling
痛苦无常
can hurt a lot more in PvE than it does in PvP.)
Right -
力与魄
The boss will create 3 shields which can protect 4 players in 10 man mode by reducing the damage taken by 40% of the following spell the boss casts, after he created th for a timeframe of 10 seconds. Prepare to use raid cooldowns like
宁静
.
Phase 2
Upon reaching 40% HP the boss flies into the center of the room and inhales the gas cloud which gives him the buff
狂热信息素
increasing his damage by 10% and haste by 20%.
In this phase all abilities are now combined, so it's just a mix of the first phase and nothing special. You should just proceed like you handled the abilities in phase 1 and pull
嗜血
to finish him.
This video shows how our raid handled the various boss mechanics:

Loved
Had a lot of trouble with this guy last night, he would start using 2 mechanics very close succession. I'm guessing this is an intended mechanic since his
噪音取消
reduce damage of
音波衰减
. Lookout for
策反
+
力与魄
during the last phase though, generally it would be a good idea to not break out the MC'd so there is less healing you need to do but you also risk the chance to get feared/knocked out of your barriers. Force and Verve + Attenuation is also another deadly combo since you'll be taking the normal bursting damage from FnV and another 25% of attenuation's on top of that.
There was also a "bug" that caused his noise cancelling barriers to spawn in the pheremones, this only happened once but was still an unnecessary wipe for us.
One last tip, the attenuation spheres spiral outwards from the boss so you can just move in a circle around him without having to worry about dipping through small gaps. Very useful for any melee classes or people having a hard time with this ability.

It is
not
recommended for a tank to use a Warlock's
Demonic Gateway
to switch between platforms on this boss as it triggers the
Demonic Gateway Debuff
, which will cause the boss to attack a different target regardless of aggro levels.

Thror
Since healing through
力与魄
is quite a challenge, I thought I would describe how I dealt with it so far (I have not scored a kill on the boss yet, but we are getting into the last phase consistently. We usually wipe because a mind controlled raid member messes us up during
力与魄
). Also, might as well write a short on all the phases, instead of just the one platform.
I am healing this fight with my
Mistweaver Monk
on
10 man - normal difficulty
.
First two platforms
On the
音波衰减
you do not really need to heal much. Just pop a
复苏之雾
on the tank here and there, and on someone who fails at moving, and channel a bit of
抚慰之雾
on someone who gets
吐气
, but other than that, you can pretty much just beat the boss. When beating the boss, keep in mind to get two stacks of
. This platform is excellent for conserving and regenerating your mana. Make sure to chug your mana tea to hold yourself above like, 75%.
On the
力与魄
platform, you are either constantly preparing to dish out ridiculous AoE healing burst, or you are actually doing that healing burst. I heavily rely on the use of
活血术
and
神鹤引项踢
. Basically, I try to spread my
复苏之雾
before the cast starts as best as I can, using
雷光聚神茶
shortly before the cast starts to get the HoT rolling on all 10 raid members. I also make sure to be at 4 Chi when he starts casting. And then I just go 2x Uplift -> Chi Brew -> 2x Uplift -> 2x Spinning Crane Kick -> Uplift. When Chi Brew is down, I just start using SCK sooner, but it's basically the same. It pumps up about 75k burst HPS and I was able to hold my ground as a healer in that phase fairly consistently. I wouldn't recommend channeling
禅悟冥想
for an obvious reason, you can not cast while channeling it. Try not to rely on
还魂术
when learning to heal the burst, because you will often have to heal through Force and Verve when your Revive is down. It is best to keep it as a last resort for when something goes wrong, like when your healer gets Mind Controlled in P2.
Pro tip: When you are hiding from
力与魄
inside the safe zones... do not accidentally press Roll instead of Uplift and die like an idiot, unless you like the sensation of everyone laughing at you on Vent.
Third platform
When someone gets mind controlled, make good use of your
扫堂腿
,
,
切喉手
. Also, dispelling the mind controlled people as soon as they get broken out is the highest priority. Really, quite a few ways to lock down a fellow player, for a healer. Also make sure to refresh your
by blackout kicking your mind controlled friends. It is for their own good!
Last phase
Well, basically take what I said up to now and add it together. The result will be an epic cluster#$%^ of chaos, which you will somehow have to manage. I will probably add some more infos when I actually defeat the boss. :D
Anyway, take this as a sort of a guide, if you want, but I would also welcome any sort of discussion from other experienced Mistweavers. Especially if you do something differently and think it is better that way.

Finally downed this boss last night on 10man normal after a couple of nights of wiping (much). Hoping a few tips might be of help to others.
Setup:
1 DK tank (had a bear for most attempts and worked out fine, but he lost his internet for the kill, poor guy)
2(3) healers: Holy Pala, Holy Priest (and Resto Druid/Resto shaman)
5-6 DPS: Unholy DK, Assassination Rogue, Elemental Shaman, BM Hunter, 1(2) Balance Druid(s)
Comments on setup
We found that it became 2-man healable if we could put out the damage to shorten the three initial platform phases substantially, pushing him into phase 2 quicker - getting there with more mana on the healers and generally with people less prone to messup on the Attenuation or any of the other platforms. However, if DPS slacked, we would need 3 healers as the damage during his Force&Verve is intense and you only want so many of those to tick off during the initial platform phases.
Also, it seemed slightly better with a setup of more ranged than melee, as melee will lose out on quite a bit of damage if they have to be assigned to any other shields/bubbles than the one spawning right on top of the boss during his Force&Verve.
Bad breath, much?
The boss buffs himself up with Inhale. He attacks with Exhale onto random raid members, he beams onto the player and does increased damage with more stacks of Inhale on himself. Have your tank always and asap jump in between the player and the boss - your tank can basically move around the legs of the boss to break it off. Thus, the tank will take the Exhale rather than it killing a healer or a damage dealer. Have melee at maxrange whenever possible.
In the center of the room, between all three platforms, there are Pheromones of Zeal, it's like most things in game, don't stand in the shizzles! You should never be stuck down there for long during the first phase anyways, as you need to be where the boss is.
If no one is in melee range, he will be casting Song of the Empress, and that will wipe you if you don't shift platforms to his.
Tuning yourselves for Attenuation
We had a few people who really struggled to get a hang of dealing with his Attenuation. We did some practice pulls, where we would only get him to the Attenuation platform (as that was the one some struggled with) and then just stop dps and everyone would focus on dodging the discs. He keeps on throwing Attenuation repeatedly if not pushed below the next 20% hp marker, so this turned out to be very valuable learning for us. No one had to stress with putting out numbers, only and solely on taking as little damage as possible from the discs. Once you do figure out the spiral pattern they move in, you'll be thinking
"Now, that is quite easy to deal with, why did I not do it like that from the start?"
.
This same way of practising the different platforms can be done by simply getting to them and halting dps on the boss so he keeps doing the current platform's special ability.
We found that staying as close to the boss as you can without having the discs spawn on you, and then moving around him in the "innermost" loop of the spiral, seemed to keep the most people alive. Also, because it is a spiral pattern, you will end up close to where you started going around him.
Dealing with Force&Verve
On 10man you can have up to 4 people inside each shield, any player extra will not get the protective buff, and will die unless they are popping survival cooldowns and can move quickly into another shield nearby.
We would split so that we had (while 3 healers) a healer in each shield, and then evenly distribute the damage dealers.
Any 3rd or more round (on the initial F&V platform) of Force&Verve we would have people use any mitigation they had. Remember that most damage in this fight seems to be physical so you might have mitigation you haven't thought of using.
Anything that can spare mana on your healers, you'll really want them have it for the intense phase 2.
Fighting your own kind
Well, the Convert platform does a mind control of 2 random people on 10man. We assigned two ranged to be in charge of freeing them out by getting them to 50% hp, and we had a third ranged as their backup. We really found that having Balance druids be converted can bring quite a few surprises to the party, and the knockback from Typhoon would really mess things up. Shaman hex was also always a bundle of joy, especially with two Shamans being converted at the same time. There are a few things you want to watch out for:
If a healer is converted, make sure to interrupt/silence them so they don't heal the boss up
Try not to have fear/dots linger on the converts way below reaching the 50% which breaks them out
He seems to pick & choose abilities, regardless of making sure they are on cooldown
DKs seems to have their presence changed more than often
Hunters, watch your aspect as he likes to mess with it
He will remove your focustarget
If you are organised enough, you can cc one while freeing the other, do what works best for your team.
Now, show us your moves!
Phase 2 is hectic and even more intense than any of the previous ones, he has all his special abilities available and will use them at his own free will. However, from what we could see he does not do Force&Verve at the same time as Attenuation, as they are channeled spells so he (thankfully) is "busy" while doing either of these.
We seemed to be getting the first 4-5 in the same order on every single pull: Attenuation shortly after landing in the center -> F&V shields -> Attenuation -> F&V shield -> Straight into Attenuation -> F&V shields or Convert timed up with either incoming new F&V or Attenuation.
Remember that the converts take little to no damage from his abilities, however, if you want to cc them through a round, then be organised and do not break them out unless it is planned for.
We would get a lot of confusion and messups when he chose the "wrong" people to convert, especially if he chose the two ranged who were assigned to free them. Everyone should help free them, but do not risk dying themselves or killing the converts. We also had our DK death grip them into the F&V shield so we could free them while dealing with F&V. Be careful though, if that's a converted player with knockback abilities, he will (try to) knock you out of the protective shield. The other way around, he will root/stun/slow you so you risk dying outside the shields or during Attenuation.
Heroism was (at least planned) popped right as we open on him when he moves to the center of the room at roughly 40% hp, as this is when we'd have the longest time to dps him without worrying about any of his special abilites.
We killed him with just below 30 seconds to go on berserk, with 3 healers, so a few more gears on people from MSV and we can hopefully come back next reset and really show him how this is done - with 2 healers and everyone knowing the ins and outs of all his abilites.
Fun boss, quite a jump in difficulty for an entry boss - but then, we all like a challenge, right?
Good luck, all!

This is the NPC used in the quest
黑暗天空
and not the raid boss
皇家宰相佐尔洛克
. See the information and links that Wowhead has posted at the top of the page for the correct page on the raid boss. Those that have posted helpful information and strategies for the raid boss version of this NPC may want to consider moving their posts to that page to avoid additional confusion.
So far as this NPC goes for the achievement attached to the quest
黑暗天空
you just have to hit him with one of your two abilities to get it to count toward the achievement
神兵天降
. Like the others for the achievement you do not have to kill him. Only 3 of the NPCs will be up in a day.
If you want the achievement it can be helpful to keep the quest in your log (don't finish it and turn it in), and then just check every day to see which of the NPCs is up. This is because the quest
黑暗天空
is not offered every day and is part of a random Kalaxxi daily rotation.
