If you're new to Un'goro crater, always always keep an eye out for this guy. Very stealthy for a 5 story dinosaur.
These devilsaurs have a knockback move that they use on you every now and then when you are fighting them. Make sure your back is to a tree if you challenge one of these.
Pretty easy to take these as a 52 lock.. Tank with VW and DOT him. health funnel to VW with occassional re-Dotting and Drain Life. Could spam fear but usually not a good option for low level since theres so many creatures nearby usually.
they must be stealthed. i just came into contact with one before and it just suddenly appeared infront of me after it hit me. i can see the ironhide devilsaur from ages away, but i was taken by suprise with this one
My first visit to Un'goro surprised me with this guy. For something so huge it's surprising how stealthy it can be and sneak up on you from what feels like no where.
If you're a hunter having Track Beasts on is def a plus but won't necessarily save your skin if you're not paying attention.
This big boy has a movement speed almost as fast as a character running hence why he 'sneaks' up on so many people.
Any pet class should be able to solo him, possibly at lvl 50 but more likely 52-54.
Damnet, im level 48, and everytime I run around this place I pull this thing and it OWNS me.
Easy kill as a lvl 56 warlock. Get youre felguard(or what pet you have) on him and dot up, shoot some shadow bolts and fear him and sh1t!! :D
53 shaman got him to 5% about to get a heal off then i would win then i got knocked back
then i died..
Soloed as a level 52 mage (see screenshot). He's damn stealthy, be careful, especially when doing quests involving the dinosaurs.
If fate decides to be on your side, this guy is pretty cool. Ganked some horde that was camping me during my Chasing A-Me 01 quest. But then... the Devilsaur was actually the thing that killed me in the first place.
Hazards of PvP servers, I suppose, but then... I'm on a normal server. How about hazards of being flagged?
Nice drops and pretty soloable as a 53 rogue.
I vote they rename them Ninjasaur.
This guy was annoying to find ( he is needed for a druid chain quest)
if you look at the map, its hard to tell, but you can kind of see the path he walks on throughout of un'goro
i just followed it until i found him
As far as I can tell, all the Devilsaurs have a shared spawn point. A friend asked me to kill a Tyrant Devilsaur on its path. Once this was done, we got 'visits' from an Ironhide Devilsaur and a normal Devilsaur walking along the exact same path as the Tyrant.
Now that they're tameable, there's a lot more reason to want to find a specific type of Devilsaur, so hunters, feel free to do some ganking and clear the path for the Devilsaur you really want. ... and make a whole lot of people very happy while doing it.
Damn! It killed me a lot of times...
they hit fr 600 on cloth(probably a crit cuz i was lvl 47 when i first got attacked by one of them).annoying mob nearly killed my lvl 47 mage it could of 2 shotted me.luckily i blinked away and it stoped chasing me before it caught up,guess blink cn save u sometimes.most pesky mob in un'goro.i wonder how much it hits on cloth when it dosn't crit
Can be tamed with 51st talent it Beast Mastery
I've beat one with a 52 retadin.
Yeah, had to use some heals on myself
He hits for around 400, 700-800 crit. Soloable as a druid--though I died (level 51 :*( )
the regular devilsaur and a different type of devilsaur (( i forget which one )) were pating ungoro together and both sneaked up on me... i didnt stand a chance
For training, I found that throwing down a freeze trap and then trying to tame is almost fool-proof at lvl 70. I did them almost back to back and he wasn't able to use that annoying knockback to interrupt.
Found one but didn't expect it to hit for 500ish =\
I could solo the 44 elite lizards to the west (49 hunter).
Didn't notice any exceptional stealth, I noticed it way before it came in range.
No idea how come feint death always seems to work against them.
Edit: hit 51, now soloing those. How much leather do I need to make the whole devilsaur set?
Slap a saddle on that dino and you have one giant YOSHI!
These things scare the crap outta me every once and a while. I'm questing in Un'Goro atm and damn it sucks to turn around and see one of these beasts wailing on your pet. I freezing trapped his big dino ass and high-tailed it outta there. I probably could have taken him. But I would've used some of my pots, used BW and likely aggroed a few nearby mobs as well.
I don't like close-calls.
I was in Un'goro farming for the disgusting oozeling, when I decided it was time for a little payback on Mr. Devilsaur (He killed me almost everytime I went there when i was level 50, so I was really going to enjoy killing him >=D) but he sneaked up on me and killed me when I was afk! so now he is going down!
I remember on my level 54 pally, One started attacking me.. And i got it to 11health before i died. I also had one of the flying things attacking me and i was low on mana. (I was prot).
Then i came back on my hunter and tamed him. Fluffy the white Devilsaur ftw. :D.
But yeah, If you're new to Un'Goro, look out. They come out of NOWHERE.
Soloed with my 52 Pala.I have 2500 armor,he was hitting me for about 200 without critical.I used bubble and potion.
When I tamed the this mob, my druid friend entangled the devilsaur with roots, travel formed and raced from aggro range.
I then hit tame beast and we both hoped and prayed and begged the powers that be that the tame would go through in time.
Thing didn't land a hit on me after I stopped attempting to solo-tame the thing :D
As of patch 3.2, you can hear your pet devilsaur roar.
This is an
pet! Make sure u have the talent to tame it!
Tamed this bad boy tonight. I actually didn't do much, just frost trap + concussive shot + tame beast. My tame finished casting about .8 seconds before the trap broke.
As long as you put the maximum amount of distance possible between yourself and this beast when you lay trap + concussive shot, you should have no trouble taming him.
Found him by in the middle of the two lakes to the west
i was visitin ungoro when one caught me by surprise.i had track elementals on to watch the tar beasts and a huge thing came out of nowhere i saw the shadow started runnin while my scorpion kept him busyand he killed him quick he came after me and stepped on me.i told my party member that thing was huge! with all those exclamation marks.
drop a freezing trap, start taming. he walks into said freezing trap while you tame, which holds him from eating your face. while taming a pet, you do not want them to eat your face. it proves to be counterproductive i've found...
Soloed at lvl 50. Prot Pally. Wasn't hard.
I never knew just how big one of these babies were when I went searching for one. I thought I'd be up against something maybe a little bigger than the size they're shown when tamed, but when I actually found one, I'm all, "OOOO:"
Hah, big surprise. Somehow, it was very hard to find one... I don't know why, considering their freakish mass... xD Fun to tame, however; great pets.
this thing is so hard 2 find but only when ur looking 4 it(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##
For anyone intrested on getting this big guy or his kin as a pet this is an easy way to grab them.
Launch a frost trap into the path of the incomming dino and hope he steps on it, once hes frozen, get in place and turn on the tame beast and watch the magic happen, if you do it right your tame beast should finish before the block of ice fades and you have yourself a brand spakin new pet and no damage to speak of to your armor
There is a path worn into the ground starting at 35/28 (or the bubble of the river in the north) and travels south to 42/85 (bottom of the slithering scar) just look closley and you can see a swerving path, makes it easier to track them than trying to memorize the points from the map on tis website. I found all 4 Devilsaurs on this path, but not at the same exact time.
This pet is awesome! I'm happy that i went to tame her at a high lvl, I used my lvl 85 hunter and she took 1/8 of my health down....of course from her annoying kick back that kept screwing up my tame, so I would have to start over and over again trying to tame her....this took 3 tries, but I got her. Make sure to kill the other devilsaurs that roam around there......you have to kill each 1 untill you get to the 1 you want to tame.......discovered that the hard way after circling around Un'goro Crater for a hour which also gave me a headache.
If you dungeon make sure to keep your eye on this pet.....or it will pull anything from the tank in a dungeon., which will most likely kill your pet.
Love this guy as a hunter pet, and i recommend him greatly. just be sure to stun him or he'll knock you back
Is it just me? From the front, these dinos look quite menacing, but from the side, they look a bit daft.
His spawn time must be short. Someone said they killed him 20 minutes before i got there, and a few minutes later, i found him at the northeast path.
The point at 74.4, 33.4 is, or is very near, a spawn point of Devilsaur and Ironhide Devilsaur. In case anyone was wondering....
I felt so bad killing this beauty. I was signed on looking for Ravasaur Hatchling when he spawned on me. Frantically called my boyfriend who wanted the pet for his hunter but he was at work so no dice. Followed him around for 10 minutes before caving in to kill him.
I found this NPC under the s in "reaches" (the screaming reaches). If that hepls the hunters out there who are trying to tame this pet
is he tameable?
Jurassic Park Terror
Tamed this one right after Ironhide Devilsaur at 59, 46. Good hunting!
If your a hunter and want to tame this elite beast...i found camping just southeast of Marshals Stand and farming leather till it came round was easiest
( it walks right by Marshals Stand). I followed the trails and tried to anticipate for about half hour, felt i was spinning my wheels so I simply went back to my hunters instincts and waited along its trail.
"Hello, my name is
"My Brother's are
"I have a cousin named,
. And three uncles named,
"I like to
, and my
says that's a healthy diet, and tells me Goblins are too stringy.."
"I like too be
by hunters, and I am looking for a companion to eat gnomes with!"
Please. Support. Devilsaur. Taming.
not an std
I FINALLY GOT IT! "After 52 years of searching, Taurlo finally finds his perfect Match!
Rex: DANG I'M...oh.
Found him at 62.6, 56.9.. but then again, he's not that hard to find since he's about 10 feet tall. Makes for a cool looking pet tho..
I got the White Devilsaur on my hunter on the "G" in "The Screaming Reaches" and after taming him he respawned again 2 Minutes later on the G.
-Zippy of Kel'Thuzad
Thats wierd when i tamed this Devilasuar it was spawnd some where that isnt on this map
I tamed this guy after about an hour of searching, and there was no knockback attack; standard tame all around. Was I just lucky or has that mechanic been removed?
Just found him today, thanks to a few people keeping an eye out for me(: He's pretty epic... Scratch that, he IS epic lol.
Finally found him at 37, 34. Figured I would leave an updated comment here since the others are about three years old. The Ironhide Devilsaur is still wandering around!
I've found him twice at around 41 63, where he turns around.
He's a bit quicker than my pet boar :(
I recently recieved
and so I had to tame this on my hunter! The colors are the exact same :)
Just tamed this beauty on Illidan server time 3:05pm at 39 50 Hope this helps.
While these guys aren't exactly rare, they can be a bit troublesome and time-consuming to track down... but there is currently a bug that makes taming this cool white devilsaur (BM only, +5% crit buff + healing reduction on enemy) much quicker.
One of these is consistently spawning "stuck" inside a boulder, which is something you may or may not have seen with mobs in the game before... enemies stuck under the ground or in a tree, they generally evade all ranged attacks and can't move or attack you until you get into melee range
The "stuck" white devilsaur spawns around 74, 32... it is in the Roiling Gardens, very close to the zone's cliff wall. I have noticed this guy stuck here multiple times over the past few weeks, while questing through the area, farming ore, and again today when I dinged 69 and went to tame him.
Please note: While you can cast "Tame Beast" on this guy from range and it appears to be working, when the cast is done, you won't get the pet. It doesn't fail, but it also doesn't work, and apparently needs to be cast in melee range. At level 69, you should be fine. Again, you must be in melee range for Tame Beast to work!
Tamed @ 62.58 6:58 server on Hyjal Great look!
are these dinos still tameable ive flown around the whole palce looking for the white and purple ones.
can you still tame these? i cant find any but the king and queen but i want the black/ white ones
Confirmed still tamable as of 6.1. Tamed using the "stuck in a rock" bug mentioned below.
Also, if you have the Bone White Primal Raptor mount, they look very similar and are great to use together.
It seems that as of 6.2 and at least a few patches previous(?), the Devilsaurs are glitched. There's one location at approx 74,32 and another further down the East edge of the zone where they spawn and just stand there. No more stomping around and shaking the earth. When taming, the first attempt will usually fail as they're stuck in the matrix, but just tame again and they should be out of it and tamable.
Got this guy today. Now spawning at 71/29 (White) stuck in a rock. Just keep taunting him and trying to tame him. He is stubborn.
Found him at last 34, 24. First I found Ironhide devilsaur at 70, 27, but I really wanted the white one. Now hes tamed and mine :)
I had to camp out for 3 days before I found this one. She ended up being near the edge of The Roiling Gardens for me. She was near a big tree and got stuck when I tamed her. I had to be super close otherwise the taming failed.
What is the spawn timer on the white devilsaur? Been flying around the whole zone for 3 hours and never saw him. Still waiting. :(
Devilsaur's are now scaled to level they are lv. 110 with around 10 million HP.
This guy is on a 30 min cooldown, just tamed it on Stormrage!
Just tamed the albino one at 75, 41. I originally tamed the Ironhide version around the "G" in Screaming Reaches, and came back around and found this one. Yay for a set!
Edit: And yeah, the albino one was a little buggy. Spawned stuck in something, and it took a few attempts to successfully tame. Get close!
Figured this was worth adding for hunters hoping to find and tame this model:
more than one of these devilsaurs may be up at one time
, thus increasing your chances of finding it. I just happened to pass two both at very close spawn locations in the east.
