Loot table normal mode
How to beta video guide:
You can no longer jump off the balcony straight to the boss safely. If you try this you'll pull the room.
The Adds (simplified version):
You have four adds during this fight, all of which join the battle right from the start. Here's what they do.
: Makes all the other adds take 70% less damage when he's near them.
: Stuns people for 5 seconds.
: Heals the boss and adds. Also fireballs.
: Slows casting speed (can dispel). Shadowbolt type spell.
: Interrupt everything you can. Especially
: Hold threat on everything you can.
: If a kill order hasn't been decided on, focus the same target, it's up to you, as a smart dps to be able to look, at your fellow dps and attack what they're attacking. Seriously, if you all go out and single target your own add, this will take a very long time.
: Heal. Weave in any interrupts and stuns you might have.
Phase 2 (occurs when boss dies):
: Helps finish off any remaining adds that were not killed yet, as they're still beating on the tank most likely.
One person (doesn't matter who)
: Right click boss to start loot rolls.
Roll only on loot needed for yourself and avoid taking someones main spec gear for your off spec. Congratulate the winner of loot, proceed to not rage quit because you lost an item/your item didn't drop. Continue to next trash pull, which the tank will pull himself.
The room this boss is in also has a chance to spawn a rare mob,
. He definitely appears in Heroic, not sure about the Normal version of the instance.
He drops a huge pile of gold which, when looted, gives 100+ gold to each party member. The animation is similar to (but much bigger than) the
gold piles, but this one splits the gold between all party members, rather than all going to the person who loots it.
doesn't pull with the boss. If you can, avoid pulling him during the boss fight so you don't have to fight both at once. However, if he does get pulled,
everyone needs to switch to him at once and burn him down quickly
, or he'll run away and you'll miss your chance. He does not attack or use any abilities, but merely runs for the exit, where he will despawn. Appears to be succeptable to slows, not sure about stuns.
If you want to track whether he's up in your runs, he can be added to
, ID# 61246. He's not currently in their database.
Other MoP rare instance mobs that I'm aware of:
If you're a Brewmaster, glyph into Leer of the Ox and use it on the Skulker. Let him stun your statue for a while.
Magnificent! It talks! This seems beyond what we thought the saurok were capable of.
This boss purely sucks to solo due to the stun mechanic, i would advise just running around and never letting him cast it and probably kill Protector>Oracle>Hexxer>Skulker>Boss. For heroic of course!
Easy fight, if you have group prepared for listening.
Let someone (plate DPS, hunter pet, etc.) pull Ironhide and Skulker away from the group. I.e. to the stairs.
Tank pick Oracle and boss, also try to get in the Hexxer. Some classes may have easier time to get them rounded, than other.
Burn Oracle. Burn Hexxer. Interrupt the hell out of the two.
Burn Ironhide and Skulker.
At this point, the boss takes 100% more damage and go down real fast.
Kill him. Enjoy his last words and the loot of the Mogu he didn't managed to grab.
The Ironhide can actually be interrupted. He shows no castbar, but if you interrupt while he is showing the buff for Iron Protector, then it removes the buff.
So it is not necessary to kill him first, if you have someone who can interrupt assigned to him.
If you have the time and an ability to reset the fight (eg. vanish, feign death etc.), you can farm quite a bit of reputation (of choice) of him.
I just equiped a tabard for championing a Cataclysm reputation. Killed him (not the adds), got the 275 rep, vanished, and the fight resets. Wait for the vanish CD until it has 20 seconds left and repeat. He respawns in a few seconds.
* you can use Preperation to speed it up a bit and reset vanish *
So, for a human rogue like me, it's about 275 reputation per minute and a half (Vanish CD), so over 12k per hour.
