Make sure your dps pick up the little hammers the bunny adds drop to help get them down faster and this guy shouldn't be too hard. Stay out of his AoE attacks to help out your healer. Tanks pick up the adds as best you can. DPS focus a Bopper add down quickly and they drop the hammers. Pick one up and use the button that shows up to aoe the adds down. DPS can "hold" these hammers from wave to wave for 60 seconds after you pick them up to help with the next wave that comes. I'm not sure if the hammer affects the boss or not.
A beta video guide on how to do Stormstout Brewery (normal & heroic mode):
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.
Lootlist normal mode:
Funny thing I noticed is that this guy is a reference to Cool-Aid
Notice how he breaks the barrel's wall, jumping into the platform yelling OH YEAH
Nice one Blizz.
(Insert deity or FSM here), this is one of the funniest encounters in WoW. As the owner of a very cheeky house rabbit, I find no end of amusement in this.
To get to this fellow after you're done getting your ook on, you need to run a gauntlet of lesser rabbit/rat/mouse chimeras. There are little guys with red barrels, whom you wish to avoid, as they are explodey. There are little guys with hammers (Boppers), who you wish to dps down so you can grab their hammers. These hammers are yellow and stick out of the ground. I use DBM and see yellow arrows bobbing up and down over them. Not sure if this is in-game, but I suspect it is. Watch for them. Grabbing the hammers gives you a button that you can click to slam a hammer onto the ground bouncing any small critter in the green radius of effect. There's a satisfying bang to go with it. Grab the hammers as often as you can. Any time there is a swarm, use the hammer to discombobulate the critters. Laugh a lot. If you can grab them during the gauntlet run, all the more fun, but it's not as easy as just mugging all of them up on the deck.
KEEP MOVING. They will spawn indefinitely.
As in the other boss fights I have noticed in MoP, you really need to get into the area else the doors will shut on you. I've seen a goodly number of (yes, this is almost oxymoronic) experienced casual players get locked out of the fight. Get your butt onto the deck ASAP.
Hoptallus has two major attacks. One is the furlwind, which is similar to what some of the tortoises and turtles do out in MoP. It spins furiously. moving around the decking, dealing melee damage. Now is a good time for sprint, blink or demonic leap to get out of the way. The other major form of attack is "carrot breath", which looks like a spew of orange. What I do is try to as a caster is to get in close to Hoptallus and stand near the base of his tail in order to avoid having to do too much running. If you get under him, you will take damage. Something's going on under him and it's not pleasant. Someone who is not too busy laughing may chime in here as to what kind of damage he is doing directly underneath (he is hopping a lot)
The hammers do not appear to affect Hoptallus, btw. Once the fight is done, just use up your hammer blows for fun and run down the stairs to the minor alemental guarding the door to the next boss.
I have a story for this boss.
After doing the dungeon on launch day, I decided to solo him later that day with some more gear from quests. First,
and his merry band of Ooking Hozen died by my
, then I killed this boss.
I had a green/Cataclysm wristband, and I got
. So yes, you can solo dungeon bosses for gear upgrades. Beats me.
This. is. awesome. I love Blizzards little details like this one, though I'm not sure how it happened, since I was summoned into the dungeon at that very moment.
Stucked outside the encounter room?Just let the priest kiss the door and grip you through that :)
