: Attack the boss. Preferably in such a way to maximize your damage output.
: Hold a threat on the boss. Roll damage reduction cooldowns if possible for
: Heal people. Also be prepared to heal the tank for when they can't pop a cooldown for
Phase 2 (occurs when boss reaches 70% and 30% health):
: Be prepared to watch which side the boss is coming from, and then move accordingly. He does this multiple times, try to follow the tank.
(Example: If he's on the North or South Side, move to the East or West side, and vice versa.) Don't stand in green puddles.
: Pick up the adds that spawn.
: Try to hold off on the adds until the Tank can pick them up. If you get separated from the Tank and are alone on one side, try not to aggro the adds, nobody can help you from there.
: Heal people who stand in stuff. I know it sucks, but that's what you signed up for.
Phase 3 (occurs when boss dies):
One person (doesn't matter who)
: Right click boss to start loot rolls.
One or two people (doesn't matter who)
: Right click on the cannons located on the edge of the platform to automatically nuke the hell out of the bugs lighting fires on the path.
One person (doesn't matter who)
: Run as fast as you can down the elevator and to the signal fire to start the next part of the dungeon and confuse people who have never been here before.
Roll only on loot needed for yourself and avoid taking someones main spec gear for your off spec. Congratulate the winner of loot, proceed to not rage quit because you lost an item/your item didn't drop. Continue to next trash pull, which the tank will pull himself.
This boss sometimes glitches and stays at 1 health. Occurred to me twice in two different dungeon groups.
Needless to say, you don't want to stand in fire or goo as these hit extremely hard and rapidly. You have a brief amount of time after the goo graphic appears before it starts hitting you, so get out of there ASAP.
Assuming your group is coordinated enough to stay together and dodge the strafing runs, the only other dangerous mechanic is
, causing about 400K damage over 5 seconds to one person. This will really test your healer's burst healing, especially if other group members are slow to move out of goo.
The attack cannot be interrupted and stuns the target for the duration, and as far as I know there is no way for most classes to break out; the healer has to burst heal to stop the target dying. (I'd be interested to know if the PvP trinket breaks it and stops the damage)
The other adds are not much problem and they can be killed while the boss is out of range lining up for the strafing run.
Just was doing the run, until he Ga'dok picked me up(Is this prey time?) And then proceeded to do strafing run straight after. As strafing run started, I was still picked up, and then got dropped down off the side of the dungeon and landed on the ground to instantly die from fall damage.
For people running the dungeon at level 110 and beyond:
A one-shot kill will prevent him from prolonging the fight with his strafing runs. Anything short of a one-shot will cause him to become immune until the strafing run is over.
Patch 8.0 | Bug & Workaround:
: I've already bug reported this to Blizzard and they are aware of it it seems. Basically, Striker Ga'dok has a chance to 'fall' from the platform and land below. This usually results in him despawning since it is not possible to re-engage him, however myself and my party figured a workaround.
: You and your party have to start the fight with the elevator down and get a bit lucky that he falls down onto the bridge below (north or south) this allows the party to jump down the elevator and re-engage him below where he can then be killed. If he tries another 'Strafing Run' then you need to quickly re-engage him again before he flies all the way up.
Video here if needed.
im gonna call him gal ga'dok
